Back on the road!

After something of a hiatus replacing the engine output seal
(may write that up, if I can be bothered), Ingrid the Mog is
back on the road.
Sailed through the test.
But on the usual pre-motorway shake down run I got an overheated
brake, and it was bloody hot. Had to get water from a nice lady
who lived opposite. We had been running in the direction of a
farm we know, and ended up there - suffering this indignity...

Turned out only to be a slightly corroded slave cylinder and we
managed a good field fix.

Which meant we could get her back to my house in manchester.

Where she could meet my other mogs

Finally, we had to go the Manchester Royal Infirmary (for
utterly trivial reasons), and the wife had the car, so off we
went. The multi storey declared itself 2.1M high, the mog is
2.05M high, so we went in. Turns out some bits are lower than
that, but we made it.

Nice to have her on the road again.

Looking good!
If the hub got that hot i would as a minimum replace the oil if
you haven't already as it may well have lost its lubricating
properties and secondly check the seals have not suffered from
the heat. I had a over heating pair of front hubs (due to
failing bearings in my case) and it cooked the seals.... ::)
Oh and which engine does it have? Plus were the oil seals a
drama?

The seals all seem ok (fingers crossed)
It's the standard M180 2.2 petrol engine, but ours has a vacuum
advance carb on it. It wasn't plumbed when we got it, but having
added the vacuum line it makes a massive difference. Tricky to
tune though (not my job)
We ended up with the military dizzy as well and tried that, yuk.
It's much faster than stock and sounds awesome.
