I thought it was kinda clever =*
so these last two weeks at work have been an absolute nightmare.
being able to talk with you has been one of the only things
that is getting me through. Pretty sure I am not getting this
promotion

at this point, no... just the paycheck. but here's the thing:
they have 8 positions opened. It's the department directly
above mine in the "corporate ladder." I have done this job for
almost 10 years, and statistically no one has processed as much
of this work ever. Not just in my office, just plain ever. I
have a job that doesn't exist in companies like mine, so my
resume makes no sense to people outside of my organization.
There are 5 people in my department, 4 of us applied, 1 MIGHT
make it. They are going to pull people from departments below
mine, and that's just wrong. They have essentially neutered my
position, because now people will see that it is not an
essential path to move up the ladder like it was supposed to be
when I took the job in 2008. There aren't 2 people more
qualified, let alone 8, but they are still going to pass me and
some other very (but not equally) qualified people over

I know, I don't talk about my work a lot because it's not really
a position anyone can comprehend based on the title... I could
have a job with a local agency tomorrow, but I don't want to try
to eat an estimated 13% pay cut. I'm sorry for laying that on
you with everything you have going on... I am just not my
normal calm, cool and collected self right now
