"Must you? That's such a shame. I was hoping you'd change your
mind but if you decline I guess I have no choice but to-" I had
all intentions of following her whether she liked it or not.
"Remain here." I leaned against the door of the king shooing her
away. "Well go on, you're in a hurry aren't you?" I let out a
sigh, a puff of black leaving my mouth that was hidden behind my
mask. An after affect of using my abilities. At times like this
I'm mostly made of...well nothing. My body becomes like that of
gas and I sincerely enjoy it because it makes me somewhat
invincible.
You can try to cut through gas but it'll still be there now
won't it but dark powers come with dark consequences.

I had just finished putting the cookies in my(to other monsters)
over sized cookie jar. I took one out to eat with my tea. I
sipped my Earl Black Tea, holding the cookie in my free hand as
I headed back to my royal throne. I strode through the
beautiful, golden flowers that covered the floor and prepared to
sit down. That was when I remembered that I had a strange note
to hand to Muffet. It came while she was away preparing the
cookies.
I placed my cookie on the arm of my throne, and my tea on the
opposite arm. I made a small noise of surprise when I was
suddenly pulled back by a strange- oh my cape got stuck under my
legs; Oh how silly of me to think someone else was in the room
with me. I tried to calm my sudden nerves with a good laugh I
also pat my fur down and flattened it against my arms and face.
Being king could be nerve wracking at times. Especially for an
old coot like me. I pulled my cape from behind me and readjusted
it since it went sideways from the sudden pull. I then proceeded
towards my royal doors. I pulled them open only to have someone
fall inside. "Oh- who are you?" Could this have been another new
monster? They were popping up everywhere these days now weren't
they?

I was growing bored of shooing the still woman and her guards
away. You'd think that the dogs would start carrying her off
since they're used to being shooed. Well that's what I'd read
anyway but they stayed like the loyal, insignificant pups they
were. Tasteless for choosing out guards she was I'd give her
that. I don't know what exactly happened earlier, whether it be
a force field or or a defense system it tingled my whole body in
more ways than one. If I had laughed she might have thought me
strange.
The large door I was leaning against was pulled open and I fell
into the giant room; completely unprepared for the doors to come
open so suddenly. I grunted and found myself at the furry feet
of a large goat man. I didn't particularly like goats as far as
the stories go but this one was different. With a golden crown,
a royal purple cape that managed to just barely brush the
ground, and royal armor. At first glance he didn't seem like a
strong guy if you didn't pay much attention to his height but
then came the overbearing kingly aura and I suddenly felt the
need to get off my back to bow. What the hell was that about?
I rolled off my back anyway to stand. His last comment got me.
He had the voice of an important figure. I submitted to no one
so this was nothing. It was nothing like the pull of the mass
inside me from earlier.
"I do pop in and out everywhere so I guess you could say that."
Damn my composure wavered. I cleared my throat to hopefully help
misguide that. Should I apologize for leaning on his door or-
"Also sorry bout that. Didn't mean to dirty up your doors your
highness." What the actual...I didn't get the chance to fully
ponder whether to do it or not but it came out. Since when did I
not have control over my words; and not only that but...your
highness?! Really?! Was this natural or was it some sort of hex
he put on his subjects? There was only one of two ways to find
out. Kill him...or.....

"No need to apologize- I too apologize for making you fall. I
wasn't aware that I'd be getting more visitors." I chimed with a
nervous smile. I looked around for Muffet, hoping she was still
near so I could hand off this letter but alas- she was nowhere
in sight. Oh well I'd settle for giving it to her whenever she
came by. "Was there something you wanted? Oh how rude of me to
have you stand out here like this. Please come in and do make
yourself comfortable." I told him, swishing my cape out of the
way as I turned my body to reveal more of the area hidden behind
these doors.
So many visitors in one day! Since when was I suddenly so
popular? It did help to take my mind off my deceased son, and my
missing ex-wife; which was appreciated since I usually spent my
days mulling over my existence. This was a good break from those
days of absolute solitude, the days that filled my lungs and
suffocated me with bitter memories of the cruel past. I've been
livelier since and I relish in it because; a break from negative
thoughts and things of that sort was a fantastic thing every now
and again. It truly was.

I, Harbinger have just managed to infiltrate the King's home
without even trying. "Of course, many thanks your kingliness." I
would have placed a hand up to my lips to hide my smirk that was
about to let out a laugh but then I remembered that I had my
mask on. Hah oh well, not like it matters. I moved past him to
enter. Seemed I'd be having a blast after all. Dropping in this
time was more fun than expected. "So your kingliness," I started
in a teasing tone that my voice automatically corrected on it's
own. Jesus christ this was getting tedious. "I didn't really
mean to intrude but heh you know I was just hanging around." I
told him as I plopped down on the ground. I was getting tired of
walking so why not?
I placed my hands on my knees in an attempt to get the strange
feeling out of the pit of where my forearm and upper arm joined.
I put force into the hands and leaned forward some. Now onto
another matter, what could I do about the king? I didn't really
have a reason to be here and I have nothing to talk about...so
now what? Obviously can't kill the guy. He's got that freaky
aura about him so that's completely out of it. Maybe he could
provide me with some entertainment! "Yeah that's it." Shit, did
I just say that out loud?
It's not like it's gonna raise any suspicious questions since it
can't easily be taking out of context.

My king senses were tingling! Just kidding, it was more like I
had the sudden urge to get this monster to explain himself
further. Not an interrogation of course, that was mostly
Undyne's field but I was genuinely curious about this strange
monster that was just, "hanging around." In the middle of my
thoughts I missed his last comment. I felt that it wasn't
addressed to me so I let it slide. "You're an interesting young
fellow! How do you like the Underground? Where do you currently
stay? You're not someone I remember seeing around before- and on
that note, may I know your name?" I had no doubts that he'd give
me his name. I was the king and most people would tell me their
names even if they didn't wish too. It's a strange thing but
call it the Fear of the Old King affect. To be honest it doesn't
work on everyone, and those it does aren't weaker than those it
doesn't it just hits in the right places is all.
Gaster for example has never been under that influence. Don't
get me wrong- I always respect privacy and such; whether I'm
curious or not the private lives of others was none of my
concern. The, 'Fear of the Old King' affect wasn't something I
placed on anyone or anything. It just found itself around my
magical aura when I became king. Isn't that strange? I had no
idea at first- sometimes it's good to have a royal scientist at
your beck and call. "May I also know what you plan to do in the
future?"

"Sonic's the name and speeds my game." I couldn't keep a
straight face for long, not that the king would be able to see
it; it was my body language that gave it away. "That was a joke-
the name's Harbinger." The overwhelming urge to hold out my
hand couldn't be stopped. God damn this sudden force! "and the
underground has always been a nice place. I've been here my
whole life...at least I think I have. Couldn't really tell ya."
The king was a curious one wasn't he? Why'd he wanna know where
I live?
"I live around. You know here and there and sometimes
everywhere." I wouldn't tell anyone where I lived. That's risky
and just plain stupid; besides shouldn't he already know? What
did kings do anyway? If he didn't know all this stuff already he
wouldn't be asking but...he should right? I internally shrugged.
He asked too many questions a bit too quick and it was kinda
annoying but it was also entertaining. A great pass of the time.
"I don't know really." That's a lie. "I guess use my abilities
for the greater good." Is that how you say it? "I don't have
much but I am strong." I could just choke on these lies. Heh but
then again I'm better at spewing them. "I don't have much to do
these days so; I usually spend my time wandering around
aimlessly."

I didn't quite get the joke but I gave a hearty chuckle anyway!
An A for Effort! Even though it starts with an E.... "Harbinger
is a very...interesting name. I like it but it seems a bit evil
don't you think?" I swatted my hand in his direction chuckling
again.
"I'm only kidding it's a lovely name." I sat down across from
him, folding my hands together in my lap. I nodded in
understanding at some of his words, how magnificent! I could see
a taller Undyne in this young fellow. "Would you like to join
the royal guard then? The pay is quite nice and if it helps I
can make you a general. Not just any general- a S-Class General.
I no longer fight with my Royal Guardsmen to gauge abilities but
I'm certain that you're strong, not just by your sureness I can
also feel it."
_The kings ignorance to the actual feeling he was receiving
would make many shake their heads and most likely slam their
faces into walls but he was an easily confused man at times. He
wasn't wrong though, the young scary looking lad was definitely
strong. How strong? No clue but the strength was where the focus
was._
"As an S-Class General you make your own missions and have the
rights to enforce them with your badge." I offered a toothy grin
to show my sincerity. I couldn't just let Harbinger leave my
home without some sort of goodness to his day. He said he didn't
have much, and with his strength he'd be an asset to the Royal
Guards.
"Now I don't normally do this but I feel that you can do the
Underground and all our monster kind some good." I was also
concerned on if any bullying took place around Harbinger.
Bullies tended to pry on those with little to call valuable. I
did my best to stop that when I had the chance- it was the least
I could do. It would keep him occupied I'd hope- so then his
aimless wondering around would come to an end. Monsters wouldn't
look down on him either. He could also be called on for help if
needed by the people. "Does that sound alright? It's reasonable
if you don't think you're ready for that. There are always other
options."

((Suuuper late reply lol))
Lady Trinity stared at him for a moment, utterly perplexed by
his lack of... writhing in agony? She cast a concerned glance at
her guards before letting out a huff and hurried away.

My lips curled into the most sinister smirk I've ever felt cross
my face. It was more than just difficult to keep my smugness out
of my voice I still managed when I said, "That actually sounds
nice. I think I'd like to be a General. An S-Class general is
just a major bonus!" I looked up at him- red blips of light
acting as my eyes focusing on his so he knew I was looking at
him. "A most generous offer your kingliness I'll gladly accept
this responsibility for the people of the underground." I had to
suppress the giggle that tried to erupt from my throat at how
stupidly sincere I managed to sound. What idiot would even say
something like that? For the monsters of the underground?
Puh-lease I want to kill the monsters of the underground. I
licked my dry lips hungrily at the mere thought of ripping
someone's body in two.
My body shuddered, hips twitching at the scenes of death that
played through my head. My arms started shaking- I had to get
away soon before I lost it. I needed to be far away from him if
I wanted to keep myself on his good side. He couldn't see this."
I bowed low while still seated on the ground, this foolish
goatman sitting before me, this foolish king wore the kindest
expression I'd seen in such a strong figure. "I am very grateful
and it would be an honor to s-serve under you." dang I'm
stuttering. My fingers dug into the ground as I clawed without
moving my arms, each individual finger digging into the dirt
below as they scraped it away towards my palms.
