After they exited the coffee shop, Zephyrus and his gang had
moved onwards and into Waterfall. As soon as they had gotten out
of earshot of anyone in the immediate vicinity, Zephyrus turned
to the others. "What was that about?"
Elroy at first looked confused, but then shook his head. "Yeah,
it was probably a bad idea in the first place."
Zephyrus put his hand on Elroy’s shoulder. "Look, I get it. We
were supposed to have fun. I know you wanted to have fun. Things
just kinda pile up, and we may have gone in at a particularly
bad time, but at least we aren't on the bad side of the Royal
       Guard."
Oswin raised his eyebrows. "This time. You remember last time,
and that didn't go so well for us."
Zephyrus shook his head. "Aw, come on. One mistake and everyone
rags on you about it." Zephyrus turned to the cavern entrance.
"Let's just get home guys. I need to beat up something."
Heathcliff shrugged. "Ok then. I might go do some exploring
       around Waterfall if that's fine."
       Elroy nodded and silently followed.
Lance did the same, although he was in a more optimistic view.
Oswin came up to Zephyrus. "You seem stressed."
Zephyrus lowered his head a little. "It's just these past
events that've been happening's all. In three months we've had
wolf creatures, and mysterious metal monsters showing up in the
Underground, and with all that happening we might just go outta
business Ozzie. Over these past few months people have been more
and more reliant on the Royal Guard because of what they've been
doing, and we've just been sitting around doing whatever we can
for some decent wage. I honestly don't know if we can keep this
life up anymore. Our housing bill is 500 gold for each of us,
and not only that we have to get things like food, electricity,
and water. That stuff ain't cheap you know. At this rate, we
might as well sell our armor to the Tem Village and just try to
       live normal lives."
Oswin walked silently for a moment, before he turned back to
Zephyrus. "Don't worry. If anyone can pull us through these
       hard times it's you Zephiel."
Zephyrus looked to his friend. "Thanks, bro."
Oswin nodded, and continued walking in pace with Zephyrus. "You
       need someone to spar with?"
Zephyrus shook his head. "Nah. I think I'll be fine."
       [hr]
They travelled through Waterfall, passing over various small
gaps simply by walking across. They moved through one of the
residential districts, passing by the home of Napstablook, to
which Lance turned his head. "You think the ghost in there is
       doing ok?"
Zephyrus tilted his head. "He rarely comes out, so I'd say so."
They all passed by, and reached a field with multiple glowing
mushrooms and grass. They took a left and soon found their
       residential area.
Zephyrus took out the key to their house and opened it.
It was a relatively small house, with little to no furniture.
The only thing they really had afforded was a sofa and a small
Sanyo box TV. There was an area to the left of this area that
held a small dining room with a table and two benches, and a
small kitchen with only a fridge and a microwave. The area to
the right held the bedroom area which was probably the most
expensive part of the home seeing as there were five rooms for
       all five of the mercenaries.
Lance soon went into his room, followed by Roy, Heathcliff,
       Oswin, and finally Zephyrus.
Zephyrus put down his shield and went out the back door to their
training area. There were some cheap dummies strewn about their
backyard, and Zephyrus rushed straight at one and started
       slicing.
Heathcliff had now donned more casual clothing, and went out the
front door to explore Waterfall. Roy also had donned casual
clothing and went to a nearby "Wishing Room" as people so
lovingly called them. Lance sat around on his bed playing a
video game he had bought. Oswin was watching the news, seeing if
anything new had happened in the time they were travelling.
Later in the day, all of the comrades had returned home, and
soon the house had returned to silence.

After an uneventful Tuesday, the band of mercenaries woke to the
usual smell of Elroy cooking up some microwavable breakfast he
had found, and the typical clanging of Zephyrus in the backyard.
Once Elroy called everyone over for breakfast, all of the
friends gathered around the table, and started to eat. Zephyrus
came over, and sat down next to Oswin.
When they had mostly finished, they set down their forks and
listened. Heathcliff looked over to Zephyrus. "So, what's the
       schedule for us today?"
Zephyrus shrugged. "So far, business has been slightly lacking.
We haven't had a client contact us for the past few days now, or
anyone come to us for a job or something like that... I think we
may be in a dry spell for the current moment."
All of the others sighed as Zephyrus gave them the news.
Lance put down a pouch. "At least I foraged this. Found most of
it in the garbage dump yesterday, a bag of gold and stuff we can
       sell to the Temmies."
Zephyrus looked into the pouch and tilted his head. "Are you
sure some of this stuff is even useful for those Temmies? I
mean, some of this stuff is valuable like this medallion..."
Zephyrus pulled out an orange medallion with some topaz on it.
"But what about these other things? Batteries, a boot, and....
       is this an action figure?!"
Zephyrus put the things back into the bag, and fished out the
gold. "Well it's not bad, but it ain't enough for all of us..."
Zephyrus sighed and placed his head on his right hand. "Still
not enough for all of us. We need a job... or something. Our
housing bill is due in two months, and we only have 1,200 gold
       for a 2,500 gold bill... "
He turned to Elroy. "You can go to Tem village and sell the
stuff. I'm pretty sure that they're the only ones that accept
people selling stuff. Meet us back in the Capital when you're
done. As for all of us, we got nothing to do for now. For now,
we go to the Capital, see if we can find a job. Or something of
that sort. We need money to pay for these things, and foraging
through the garbage dump ain't gonna cut it."
       The others nodded.
Zephyrus took off his helmet, and sighed as the others got
themselves dressed from their sleep wear to their casual wear.
They all left, and when they reached the cross roads, Elroy
headed down to where the Tem Village was, while the rest of them
headed off to Hotland and later the Capital to see if they could
find a job. It was going to be a hard time trying to find a job,
but they had to. Zephyrus knew he could not, and would not let
       the others down.

As the day caught up to them, the mercenaries all got back to
their home after a relatively small job.
       "Well then. That. Was boring."
Heathcliff sighed. "Don't complain Roy... We're mercenaries,
and at least we got some decent pay out of that..."
The mercenaries had spent about half of the day protecting a
clients' house with some sort of valuable stored inside of it,
and had received 150 gold for their efforts. It was at least
       something for them.

"Yeah, now we're only a tad bit closer to our housing bill.
Roy. How much did you sell the stuff at Tem Village for?"
Roy pulled out a pouch of gold. "I got 200 G for that stuff.
Oddly enough, their shopkeeper really wanted that action
       figure."
Zephyrus tilted his head, than nodded. "Good work Roy. Well, we
need to rest up. Tomorrow's probably going to be uneventful as
       usual."
Heathcliff nodded, as Lance checked the mailbox.
Once they had their things, they all entered the premise of
their home, and moved around. Heathcliff and Oswin had grabbed
some of their wooden weapons and went out to the backyard. Roy
grabbed his clothes and bags before heading off to Hotland to do
some grocery shopping. Lance went to his room, promptly got
dressed in casual clothing, and went outside.
Zephyrus sat down on his bed and sighed. These past few days and
months had been stressful and time consuming. He didn't know how
much longer they'd be able to keep going. But whatever. He knew
his friends and brothers-in-arms would be with him the whole
way. Zephyrus knew where they belonged did not matter, so long
as they could be friends for the longest possible time.
