Re: Come On In, The Coffee's Hot! (Open Scene)
By: guest130 Date: December 27, 2017, 12:04 am
---------------------------------------------------------
When the shivering young dragoness entered the cafe, Yanezi’s
expression shifted into one of mild empathy for that shivering,
for even with her thick fur that chill outside could still get
to her sometimes too. The rattling of the nearby glass and the
orbiting of those spheres was intriguing, though not quite
alarming as it seemed the pastel scaled reptilian had her magic
at least mostly under control. She frankly expected the youth to
find someplace as close to a fire as she could, as did most of
the folks who were less cold tolerant, though the shop itself
was kept reasonably warm, especially compared to outside.
“Heya!” the blue-grey cashier replied cheerily, glad to see this
young one had some manners. The order was rung up efficiently,
though Yanezi didn’t rush the dragonette in picking out what she
wanted from the glass case of sweets. “All right, one hot
chocolate and six chocolate chip cookies,” she repeated before
giving the total and letting the money change hands with ease
along with a table number. “Enjoy the warmth!” she bade Marver
with a toothy grin before letting her wander off to sit near the
opossum. The sound of shattered glass did draw her attention
again -- for that was rarely a good sound in a restaurant -- but
seeing it was the young woman munching on her own glass, so did
her best to tune it out, albeit with a still mildly surprised
look on her face.
“Definitely an adventure,” she murmured under her breath with
bemusement.
That adventure certainly continued with the trio that was Cole,
Cherry, and Gust entered the cafe, looking like a ragtag group
if there ever was one. Cherry was definitely a familiar face,
earning a brighter grin from Yanezi. “Heya Cher; how’s your
mom?” she inquired whilst leaning on her elbows on the counter,
hands under jaw as her slender tail swished idly. “You should
tell her those gingerbread cookies were a huge hit; it’d be
awesome if she brought some more up sometime. We couldn’t keep
them on the shelves, heh.” Her attention broadened to the other
two. “What can I get you folks today?”
The menu was displayed above on chalkboards, handwritten out
with a kind of rustic charm. There was the usual selection of
coffees, teas, and cocoas, but for food there were a variety of
hot and cold sandwiches, fresh salads, a selection of hot soups
and stews, including a couple of daily specials, mac’n’cheese
(for the kids), and of course a variety of pastries and sweets,
some -- like the cinnamon rolls -- made in the cafe kitchens,
while others were courtesy of folks like Cinnamon. Fried foods
seemed to have no place on this menu, but there was certainly a
blend of healthy and wholesome foods to pick from, all of which
certainly smelled good as their scents wafted from the kitchen
behind the counter.
Fia soon darted up to greet the dark fire elemental -- Cole,
apparently -- who turned out to be the fizzy woman’s cousin. How
interesting. The feline withheld a quiet chuckle that instead
simply purred through her chest as she let that friendly
bombardment continue uninterrupted, though with a mild eyebrow
raise as she too wondered at the term ‘egg’ in those
descriptions.

Watching Cole give a salute to certain people, it forced his
head to tilt, who are these people and what is Cole's connection
with them? A monster woman of a similar element approached the
trio shaking both Cherry and Gust hands with the same sort of
attitude found in Gust whenever he greeted new people. She even
talks very fast too, interestingly she appears to know about
them. "Yeah I'm Gust,
theoneandonlyfasttalkeraroundherebutiguessitscoolifyoucantalklik
ethistoonotmanypeopleiknowwouldunderstandwhatIwassaying"
he grinned.
His other hand remained a firm grip on Cherry, remembering his
old man's words of never letting go..Speaking of which he could
ask pops to make Cherry her own necklace to be able to track her
whenever they are separated or he could ask Cinnamon when they
get back home.

---------------------------------------------------------
Lesser dogs Neck extended very slightly as she was petted, her
head seemed to go to the side slightly, giving Yanezi plenty of
room to pet. As Yanezi asked about the sentry station and the
petting stopped, her neck seemed to recede slightly. "It... is
fine I think. I managed to piece the bits back together. Though
I think the back wall is a bit unstable...". She said, "Might
need to bring out a specialist in sentry post design, the damage
was pretty bad".
Lesser dog continued to enjoy her coffee. It always amazed her
how loud Fia could actually be, constant talking, constant
explosions, not in the scary way, she was always cheerful and
fun loving when Lesser Dog saw her, but at times, it felt like
she was trying desperately to drown out the rest of the world.
Which is odd as Lesser dog liked the sounds of the rest of the
world, at least mostly, it seemed like an odd thing to try to
drown out. Maybe it was not the entire world, just parts of it?
That made some amount of sense...

By: Luxin Date: December 30, 2017, 9:19 am
---------------------------------------------------------
"Proud..?" Luis asked, mostly to himself. That moment of
questioning was short-lived and he simply continued smiling.
"Heheh, I guess I am." His eyebrows raised as he silently
whistled. Eight siblings? Now that was something and then some!
Luis smirked at the notion of the following 'secret' being
totally devious and mischievous. "Sounds like quite the
competition. Not to worry--" Luis held a hand over his chest and
the other up as if he was about to make an oath. "Your secret is
safe with me."
Now it was Fia's turn to speak fully, aside from the odd nod and
affirmation, Luis remained largely silent out of respect and
occupied himself with his drink. 'People you love no matter
what, huh?' As Fia spoke, Luis took the time to reflect on some
things while at the same time giving her his undivided
attention. A lot of what she said struck a chord with the man.
Particularly when she admitted her sadness in regard to families
that were broken in one way or another. "Yeah, I can't even
begin to imagine how that must feel..." Except, he could. He
knew but chose not to admit it. Anyone with even half a Soul
would agree that scenario was horrid, and there would be no
words to express how awful that must feel.
Fia confirming that she was quite protective of her siblings hit
Luis right in the Soul as well. While ordinarily he would frown
and in some way be sad, against what logic he happened to abide
by; he smiled. "They've got quite the sister then, I think.
Lemme tell you, I'd be lucky to even be slightly similar to you
in this regard." Luis nodded and flashed a grin. "It makes
perfect sense, I think. Looks like I asked the right person.
Pssshh, puh-leaaasse, 'putting up with you'--" Luis emphasized
with air quotes. "-- Implies you're anything but... Well, a joy
to chat with. Its been fun."
Taking another sip of his drink, Luis thought about a few
interesting exhibits to see at the Natural History Museum. "One
of my favorite permanent exhibits is the evolution of the Echo
Flower, it seems to be quite popular, actually. Hmm. Other than
that, there is a new exhibit relating to some Ancient Monster
species; its a relatively new exhibit that I'm yet to be given
the briefing on, but I like what I've heard about it from
co-workers."
"Yeah; like I said, I'm not sure of what to think given current
events. I wouldn't want to take any risks but at the same time
I'm not one to catastrophize." Luis nodded in agreement to Fia's
assessment of the rumors he had explained. "This all seems to
have some basis in truth since I wouldn't pin a good friend of
mine as a liar-- so it would be good if people are aware at the
very least. Hopefully its nothing, though."
To her next question, Luis leaned back in his chair for a
moment. What was it that caused him to make such an assertion
that Fia had quite a lot of potential? "Well," He began, sitting
up straight once more, setting his mug back onto the coaster he
was provided before leaning onto the table with his elbows,
resting his head in one of his hands in this moment of thought.
"I for one think there is always more to a person than they let
on, either due to the fact they're unaware of their hidden
strength or if they hold back on purpose. We're always changing
and growing, so... Does that make sense?" Seeing Fia so excited
about Luis saying he was interested in working with her brought
excitement to him as well, his wings fluttered slightly. "Heheh~
I won't disappoint, I assure you."
Glancing off to the side at the sound of a familiar voice Luis
waved back to the second flame elemental that entered the
establishment. "Oh hey Co--!" With a blast of glee, Fia was up,
up and away, earning something between an amazed look of
confusion and a shamelessly joyous smile. Only just barely
hearing their conversation; Luis did some mental math to make
sense of a passing thought. 'Well I'll be. How did I miss
meeting her until now?'

By: Cole Date: December 30, 2017, 9:58 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Cole whistled innocently as he waited in line with his two
friends, only stopping when Cherry asked if he was okay. "Hm?
Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?" He conjured an eyebrow to raise, which
looked mighty silly since there was only one of them for a
moment-- and he knew that since he smirked at Cherry-- but he
conjured the other one to make the expression a little less
funny. "Nah, for real, I'm good. Just gotta get some eats~"
He returned to whistling the little tune from before as he
finally reached the front of the line to peruse the menu. "Ooh,
I know. This'll be easy. Could I get two club sandwiches both
with extra chicken, hold off on the bacon, and hot sauce instead
of mayonnaise? A ginger beer for a drink would be lovely. Thank
you~"
Cole awaited patiently for his order number to be provided and
for the other two to order. In the meantime... 'Wait for
iiiit..' The young man was expecting Fia's sudden and energetic
reaction to his presence; she had always been like this. When
Fia latched onto him, he simply returned the hug, he saw no
shame in this situation. While in some cases it did get on his
nerves, it was as Fia told Luis earlier; thats how a proper
family is. No matter how much they might drive you up the wall,
you love them. "Pfft. C'mon, three weeks is too long for you?
I've been around; y'know I've got that apprenticeship with Sir
Console and whatnot. Same old same old." Cole groaned and made a
head motion that indicated he was rolling his eyes. "No, I'll do
that in my own time on my own terms. As for Ember? Uuugh, tell
me about it. She seriously doesn't get off my back about it."
Hang on. Cole caught all of that, and deciphered it!? Sure, he
dealt with old codes, runes and languages but this... This was
something else! Just how slick was he? Nevertheless, Cole folded
his arms as Gust also hopped into his verbal race car. 'This is
fine. I can already deal with one, two shouldn't be any
trouble..'
"Yep, these two're my friends." He nodded, seeing no need to
speak further since Fia already figured out who was who-
honestly it was pretty hard to mess that up- but when people got
stuck on the part about eggs, Cole snorted. "Because eggs are
good? Duh?"

By: Fia Date: December 31, 2017, 3:44 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Fia snorted with amusement when she noticed him raise his brows,
“I know, it’s a lot of us right? Life is never dull with them
around, that I can assure you.” she remarked before fanning
herself in an obviously, over dramatic fashion as she played
along, “Oh thank blazes, that’s a relief! Do you have any idea
how difficult it has been to keep my title within my family as
it is? The last thing I need it to have my throne challenged by
even more monsters.”
Luis’ undivided attention to her as she chattered on and on
about family quite passionately certainly didn’t go unnoticed –
in fact, her neon-green eyes may have sparkled a little more
with appreciation. After another sip from her boiling coffee she
nodded and replied, “Yeah it does sound quite upsetting, I must
admit. I do have a few friends whom have found themselves in
such a situation – it’s none of my business of course so I don’t
interfere; but I at the very least let them know that I am there
for them rain or shine, day or night. So far they’ve appreciated
it and seemed to have trusted me enough to come to me during
times of need.”
Fia’s flaming hair seemed to have flickered and crackled with
cheer as she placed a hand over her mouth as though trying to
hide that soft, feminine giggle, “Well Luis, aren’t you a
delight? If I’m not careful, you might just make me blush,
ehehehe~”
Tiny bubbles radiating with glowing orange hues seemed to have
accumulated at her cheeks as she giggled; turns out she wasn’t
careful at all!
As the winged monster took his turn to speak, Fia returned that
undivided attention; not only did she think he deserved it, but
she was also genuinely interested, “Oh sounds wonderful, I’m not
entirely surprised that it’s quite popular – Echo Flowers are
quite fascinating. Not only for the obvious unique properties
when speaking near one, but I actually use an extract from them
in some of my larger fireworks displays – adds a delightful echo
for emphasis to make it sound larger than what it really is.”
she commented.
“Certainly,” the fire elemental agreed, “and I appreciate you
letting me know about it too.”
The fire monster then watched Luis with interest as he stated
his assessment, “It definitely makes sense, a lot of my family
members and I would be relate to that, actually.” she admitted,
idly flicking a finger through her flames for subtle emphasis.
Fia then set down her now empty coffee mug as she clasped her
hands together with delight as soon as she noticed his returned
excitement, “Wonderful! I look forward to working with you in
future!”
The cheetah’s speedy talking earned him a smirk from Fia, “Well
I guess you just haven’t met me now have you?” she chuckled in
jest, “I have a tendency to speak that quickly in the sheer
moment of excitement, but if you want I could try to do so
deliberately with you more in future?”
After being satisfied that familial hugs being exchanged had
been more than enough, Fia final let her cousin go with a pout
and asserted her hands on her hips as she looked at him, “Um,
ye-ah!” she declared with an obvious tone before continuing with
amusement, “Darn right three weeks without a peep is too long
for me; but I’ll forgive you this time! Do say hello to Sir
Console for me though, won’t you? I still find it exciting that
you’ve managed an apprenticeship with him – how exciting! I hope
it’s been going well.”
The flaming pink monster giggled again at the look of
exasperation, “Oh I know and that’s very fair; but you know
Ember – has to know everything about everyone, every trend,
every scrap of gossip and self-declared matchmaker. She means
well at least, right?”
She then paused, having realised that she had left her friend
behind at the table – oops, how rude!
“Wait a minute,” she began, after Cole made his order and
payment, she took him by the elbow and urged him a little closer
to the table she was just at so it’s easier to hear, “isn’t this
a small Underground? How do you two know each other?” she added
curiously.

Re: Come On In, The Coffee's Hot! (Open Scene)
By: Cherry Date: January 1, 2018, 3:11 am
---------------------------------------------------------
"Technically you've had that before~" Cherry raised an eyebrow
at Gust at the flying fish part, she wasn't exactly wrong, he
had tried some with her on their date a while back, so he had,
had it once before and it wasn't exactly new to him. She
appreciated that he was trying something out of the ordinary to
his steak and ribs though, but she knew mostly of what was on
the menu here given that she delivered here from time to time.
When Fia reacted to Cole how she did, Cherry looked a bit in
shock at the sudden outburst, but it was more of a pleasant
surprise then anything. She almost looked amused, a little too
amused by it all. Soon the elemental approached her too though,
Cherry liked her enthusiasm!
The catshark would shake Fia's hand back with a toothy grin,
"Heya Fia!! Yeah! I'm Cherry-- Oh he has?" She took a glance to
Cole before then laughing lightly at the description of her
"Awww heheh, yeah that's right! He really said all that-- Wait,
egg?" Similar to Fia she would seemed puzzled at the egg part.
After Cole's snort and reasoning behind why he used egg's in the
descriptions, Cherry gave huff, pouting a hidden smile. "Pfft!
Heh- Nerd~" She'd stick her tongue out at Cole playfully. Of
course he'd use eggs.
When Yanezi spoke to her, Cherry smiled brightly, it was always
nice seeing her! She'd always been something Cherry looked
forward to when doing deliveries. "Hey Nyanezi~" Cherry
responded back, the nickname coming out in a sort of 'meow' way,
probably part of the 'cat' side of her peeking through. "Mumma's
uh-.." She paused for a moment, glancing aside before managing a
smile, "She's alright! She might even meetup with us here later,
if she gets the time" Her thoughts wondered a bit on earlier,
but she was here to treat Cole and Gust to a good time so.
Cherry seemed to watch Yanezi's tail as it swished like that
while she said the next part, it had her focus for sure, but
Cherry still heard what she said too. "O-oh? Well then, I'll
help her to bake double for next time then! Thanks for letting
me know, I know she'll love to hear that" Then of course came
deciding what to have. She didn't really need to, but Cherry
looked at the menu anyway, thanks to her mother, she had always
had a preference for sweets- She let Cole go first before
speaking up herself, "Could I get one of your cinnamon rolls
with a hot cocoa? Yanno with the goods on top like usual? If
you're not out! I really do love the whipped cream, cinnamon
sugar and caramel drizzle, Heeheh!" She knew that all sounded
sweet but hey, she enjoyed it.
Since she knew Gust wanted something that wasn't on the menu,
she'd put a claw to her chin for a moment, glancing at the
cheetah, "He'd like a uh--" She'd smirk before leaning to Yanezi
and whispering something softly to her so that no one else could
hear what she said, once she had, she'd stand back upright and
nod with a smirk, "Yeah I reckon he'd dig that a lot, if you
could get him one Yan Yan?" She'd shoot her a wink before paying
up what she needed to for herself, Gust, and Cole's orders,
"Consider those two paid for two, I kinda owe it to em, heh-
Oh,hey, you look great today by the way, I hope things aren't
too busy for you today! Don't work too hard!"
"Mmm, just checking on ya" Cherry did look a bit amused by the
one eyebrow being raised, putting her hands on her hips as she
looked at Cole while he smirked. She raised her own eyebrow as
he conjured the second one. "Just wanted to make sure after what
happened--- You know.." She did smile when he said he was
alright though, "Your cousin's really nice, should we sit with
her and her friend?" She piped up- Speak of the devil! Fia
elbowed the other elemental and had her own questions to ask.
Cherry found herself unable to do anything BUT smile in Fia's
presence. Feeling Gust's hold on her hand grip lightly, she'd
look to the cheetah and would smile, "I'm not going anywhere
Spots~" She reassured him, resting her head against his chest
for a moment before looking aside and blushing a bit shyly-- He
was so soft, she'd probably fall asleep doing that for too long!
"Hey Fia, do you mind if we maybe join your table with you and
your friend? It'll be easier to let you and Cole chat that way-
it'd be cool to get to know you better too!"

Yanezi had no problems continuing to give good pets while the
opportunity presented itself with the canine, though when the
Lesser Dog made mention of the damage to her sentry station
being worse than the feline had initially heard, her expression
fell slightly as her hand withdrew. “Well, that’s no good! I’m
kind of surprised though, the quakes weren’t that bad here in
Snowdin for the most part. Must’ve had a structural flaw to
begin with?” she ventured lightly. “I’m sure you’ll get it fixed
up soon enough; perhaps you ought to speak with the Captain
about the issue? She must have someone on call for such
maintenance and repair, after all,” she suggested before letting
the fluffy lupine meander off with her coffee.

Hearing her name spoken in such a feline way earned a toothier
grin from the cashier, her jade eyes brightening with obvious
amusement along with a subtle purring. The more hesitant answer
regarding the sodashark’s mother revealed her to be anything
besides all right, but Yanezi knew better about when to pry and
when not too, despite the subtle tingling of her sense of
Justice regarding the matter. “Well, I’d love to see her when
she gets a chance to drop by,” the younger woman asserted
gently, patting the other’s hand in a light gesture of support.
“And if she can’t make it by the time you folks leave, I think
it’d be pretty easy to convince him to part with something tasty
to take back with you for her.” While she only worked at the
cafe, the young feline knew Haldor well enough to know he
regarded them as family along with those who he partnered with
like Cinnamon. It’d not take much of a whiff of trouble for him
to reach out a helping hand if she needed it, that was for sure.
Still, whatever it was couldn’t have been that bad if the young
daughter of the prominent baker was willing to talk about making
a double batch of those super popular gingerbread cookies. They
had certainly gone over as well as snow did in the cozy village.
“No prob, hon. The missus’ cooking is fab, but it’s always nice
to have more things on the menu made with that much love!” she
cooed with further flicking of her slender silver tail.
When Cole stepped up to order, the cashier was attentive in the
special requests and was sure to ring the amendments up
accurately so the kitchen would get it right as well. It was an
efficient process for her given all her years working as a
cashier here, and soon enough she’d pass him the order number to
place on their table for when they decided that would be,
turning her attention to Cherry for her order.
Ringing it up as well, Yanezi couldn’t help but chuckle quietly
at just how sugar laden it was. “It’s a good thing you keep so
active Cher, otherwise I bet that all those extra toppings would
go straight to your hips,” the feline purred playfully, glancing
over toward Gust as her expression turned into a mild smirk.
“Something tells me he helps you burn off all the extra magic
though,” she asserted in a lower voice, though when the pink
catshark leaned in to whisper the cheetah’s order her grin grew,
earning the other an agreeable nod as she rang up the total
order and quoted an appropriate cost before exchanging funds
with Cherry. “Heh, thanks! [glow=#AFEEEE,2,300]You’re looking
pretty good yourself, hot stuff~[/glow]” she purred back in a
mildly flirtatious way. It was by no means a serious bid to
steal the aquatic monster from the cloud surfing one, but merely
some friendly appreciation of the other’s genuinely good looks.
A girl can look, right?
The interactions with Fia and the others were as ever noted, but
the cashier didn’t try to butt her way into them since they were
guests and while she considered herself casual friends with
Cherry and Fia, she had her own duties to attend to. The
cheetah’s fast talking earned perhaps the faintest eye roll from
the feline who was no stranger to fast talkers herself. There
were things that were said that intrigued her, certainly --
along with the answer regarding eggs -- but in the brief lull of
customers she stepped aside to take care of Cherry’s hot cocoa
personally, knowing just how the sakura blossom monster liked it
made.

With a similarly over dramatic flair, Luis looked to Fia with a
cheeky smirk. "No; I don't think I do. Mind cluing me in on just
how difficult it is~?" Some small part of him didn't exactly
logically believe it was all that difficult; if it was then Fia
clearly had a wonderful family.
Using that same string of logic, given any prior conversation,
Luis had now concluded that Fia was a wonderful lady to be
around, and saw absolutely no reason to dispute her claims.
Those friends of hers were quite lucky! "I'll just come out and
say it; I can't see why they wouldn't confide in you." He said
with a casual shrug, noticing the extra flicker in her eyes. Was
this perhaps what he meant by implying Fia was more than she let
on? The results were uncertain.
"Well, if I'm not careful.." In response to Fia's shameless
blush and compliment towards him; Luis found himself
experiencing much the same phenomenon. Though he was softly
sparkling in general his cheeks managed to shine just a bit
more-- becoming nearly white with a slightly blue tint.
"Kreeheehee~" A bat-like laugh escaped Luis' lips. "You might
just do the same."
After a moment to cool down (by finishing his drink strangely
enough, considering it was anything but cold), Luis continued to
speak following Fia expressing interest in the Echo Flower
exhibit. "I would be happy to show you around that exhibit; I
shall have to see when I'm scheduled for tours later."
Luis nodded. He was the type to prefer everyone was as safe as
possible. "Not a problem at all."
Left to his own devices for a bit, Luis absentmindedly leafed
through the newspaper at his table whilst also keeping an eye on
Fia's precious violin. Soon enough; Fia had returned with a few
additions to the happy little gathering. "Oh?" He looked up from
the newspaper. "Cole here frequents the museum-- in fact, he has
donated some of his personal findings to a few exhibits."
Gesturing to a few other seats Luis smiled at the intrepid trio.
"You're more than welcome to sit with us if you'd like~!"

---------------------------------------------------------
'Thats family for you.' Cole snickered at Fia's antics. "Yep, no
problem. I'll let him know next time I see him. You bet its been
going well; we've found some reaaaallly interesting stuff." The
youthful flame elemental held his hands on his hips proudly. On
the subject of his younger very obviously dweebier cousin, Cole
couldn't help but laugh a little, so he decided to follow up
with a bit of a joke. "I can't tell if what she does is gonna
bite everyone in the behind or end up saving lives, its really
weird."
To get a little bit of a rise out of Cherry, Cole let out a
little whistle when Yanezi opted to be a bit of a flirt. "Its
always cats, huh?" Even though he didn't project any form of
visible eyes, only a completely oblivious person would even
slightly assume he wasn't totally giving a cheeky wink. "Hehehe,
just kidding."
Before he could answer Cherry's question, Fia effectively made
the decision before he did-- yanking him away by the elbow
towards the table Luis was sitting at. "I guess that settles
it." He shrugged to Cherry with a smile. Nodding to Luis, Cole
looked over to Fia before taking a seat at the table. "I think
I've maaaaaaade, about fourty-five donations in the last three
months alone. Bit of a personal record, that."
