Re: Reunion.
By: Undyne Date: September 6, 2017, 8:01 am
---------------------------------------------------------
The sensation of cold tension rippling through her scales mixed
in with the hot anger slowly bubbling up within was certainly an
unusual experience for Undyne. She seemed to have held her
breath as both goat monsters had put her on the spot before
clearing her throat behind a gloved hand, "I was able to track
down Toriel to her abode and delivered your message for her
word-for-word, as well as my understanding of what may be
expected of today, since there were some finer details left out,
My King. To which, I pressumed was a private matter better
discussed two immediately involved parties." she reported
formally, her yellow eye taking turns to look at the monsters
present as she spoke, "Your exact words for Toriel were,
'I...would not mind speaking to the queen. She is always welcome
here. Maybe not as my wife but as an old friend. We could
possibly have a discussion of sorts.' I also mentioned the
importance of this visit was and that there may be a need for
some help in regards to the future of the prince."
As they travelled further into the castle, Undyne noticed the
silent signal Asgore had given and she spoke up suddenly, "Sans.
Zarc. It was rather good timing for you both to be here as I
believe there is someone whom is very interested in seeing you
both. Perhaps while Asgore and Toriel discuss their matters
further."
Sans blinked with surprise at first, before he cast Zarc a
suspicious side-glance.
'This seems rather well planned out for it
to just be a coinsidence.' he couldn't help but think to
himself behind his quickly-growing-false grin.
The skeleton then shrugged dismissively, [font=comic sans
ms]"That's cool and all, but I'm afraid that whoever this is
will have to wait. I'm kinda here for Tori. Since she asked. So.
Unless she is either okay with this or tells me to go, I'm kinda
obligated to stick around."

"I.. do beg your pardon?" Toriel would
bleat back to Asgore, her pupils shrinking a bit, loosing the
kindness they usually held in them. "I am not
forgetful. I know what I came for. I thought it was made clear
as to why I came at all in the first place. I did not come for
tea and talk, I came to discuss matters with Asriel, was this
not the discussion topic you where wanting to have with me? I
cannot see why you would wish for me to be here
otherwise" The goat would look away from the others
briefly, trying to recollect herself, closing her eyes as she
did so, only for Undyne to speak up.
The former queen would look to Sans and Zarc. It seemed rather
odd. That she had been asked here, said she was allowed to bring
others to help make her feel comfortable enough for the time,
only for the two to then be taken away? "Who wants
to see them?Does it have to be now?" She would ask,
looking to Undyne. She had been the one to say that Toriel did
not have to do this alone afterall. "I would
prefer it if I was not left alone with him-" She would
motion her head towards Asgore. "I also believe it
would be fair for us to be clued in, especially if the boys are
separated from me for a while. I trust you to keep them safe
Undyne, and to not be taking them to anyone dangerous. So
perhaps, could we be told more about who they may be
seeing?" The goat's tone softened when talking to the
fishy monster in comparison to Asgore. "Perhaps
then, and if not completely alone, then they'll be alright to
go, I need to know that they will be safe" Toriel would
hold her gaze on Sans for a few moments, getting her smile back
for the moments that she did look at him. If close enough, she
would reach down and would run a finger along the top of Sans'
skull. "And they have to be okay with it too of
course"

I would not lie to my subjects but in a sense...the person they
are to see didn't... I turned around holding in my sigh. We were
wasting time. If we were to even get to the part about Asriel
then this needed to move along. I cleared my throat, small
flames flitting out my nostrils when I breathed out of them. I
could taste fire in the back of my throat. I pressed my hands
together putting on my kindest smile. "I would not purposely
lead my subjects to anything dangerous. I assure you Miss Toriel
that the one they are to meet is eager to see them both to
reflect on good memories while we speak. It is also better this
way since Sans and Zarc are not allowed to come see Flowey." I
turned my gaze to Sans as I spoke my next line. "Sans has seen
enough of him I'm sure- that kind of...he does not need to
revisit the past- again. Zarc on the other hand it is also safe
to keep them at a distance." I lightly pat down the white fur
sticking up on my left hand before turning my gaze to Toriel but
then I let it fall to Undyne since Toriel is less likely to keep
contact.
"Not only that but the discussion we are to have which does
include our son does not need to be heard by anyone more than me
and you. They are private matters and as his parents the things
we discuss and may or may not decide only needs 4 ears...even if
Sans doesn't actually have ears." I held back a chuckle at the
thought. Perhaps I could make a skeleton pun to the small
skeleton sometime. I do feel I was a bit hard on him a while
back. I could never understand what exactly he was experiencing
without going through it myself. I was merely upset with the
situation, not at Sans himself.
"You two are very safe here. However if it will make you feel
safer Undyne if she would like could stay with you. She is the
one leading you there after all and if anything should lead you
two astray she will be there with you- head strong and ready. If
you doubt all 3 of your abilities could stop one person should
they suddenly for no reason become malicious then...I do not
know what to say." I turned my gaze to a nearby guard, giving
them a small nod to go check on the readiness of the waiting
person. "There is no need for worry." I spoke in a softer tone
with my last words. I suppose after staying in one place for
such a long period of time would have Tori on edge of anything
and everything. What place would have her so sheltered? I would
have stopped to think about it if I were not busy with guests. I
could only hope that Toriel as a fellow parent would understand.
There are just some things that others do not need to hear.

Re: Reunion.
By: Zarc Tenebris Date: September 8, 2017, 9:23 am
---------------------------------------------------------
So that was it, Undyne relayed her previous message to Toriel
word for word. There was no mention of any 'tea', just a
discussion. Plain and simple, just like Zarc and no doubt Sans
or Toriel hoped for, much to Asgores 'dismay' or whatever
thought it was that was running through his head, thinking he
was able to try and sneakily imply something that wasn't agreed
upon, was.
Having the intent to interject, Zarc noticed that Toriel had
something to say. Since it was mostly her business, her thoughts
were more important. Zarc was largely unsurprised that Toriel
was mad, but seeing it for real only solidified his own opinion
on being here. Giving Undyne his attention at the call of his
name, he quirked a brow after trading a glance with Sans.
Someone was here to see them? Really? This conveniently timed?
Rubbish. "Is.. Is that so? Forgive me for perhaps sounding rude,
but might I ask who it is? As you might know, I am here for
Toriel's sake right now. Nothing much else, I'm afraid."
Toriel raised her own concerns, Sans more or less had the same
thoughts going on it seemed. If Toriel didn't want them to leave
her side, then they would be hard pressed to do it, perhaps only
physical force would work, and that alone might be difficult.
"Well, it shall depend entirely on who it is." Zarc adjusted his
collar slightly and straightened out his coat. 'Hmph. If it
isn't someone I know personally, then tough shit.' He
thought.
Wanting more than anything to blank out what Asgore was saying,
Zarc didn't manage. The goat-man still spoke cryptically, he
didn't even try and reveal anything about who they were
'supposed' to be seeing. This only made Zarc more apprehensive.
The trio had made it pretty clear they would feel much better
and undeniably safer if they were not separated. Zarc pondered
exactly what part of that was somehow not clear.
Apparently it was safe here and there was no need to worry,
according to Asgore. Zarc disagreed completely. "So you say; and
you are entitled to that opinion. However, with all due respect,
I find it highly dishonorable and beneath you of all people to
request the presence of any of your subjects under false or
nebulous pretenses, let alone your former wife and queen.
Please; tell us who it is you wish us to see. Should you have no
worries of your own, this humble request should be easy." Zarc
spoke clearly, calmly and with a dignified tone befitting of a
noble. He had to persevere, if only for Toriel's sake.

Re: Reunion.
By: Haruno Date: September 8, 2017, 10:49 am
---------------------------------------------------------
A light voice cut in as a woman came out of the shadows
accompanied by two servants. The red eyed creature didn't look
at everyone first, her eyes trailed the wonderful carvings and
designs around the giant hall. What beauty. She made her way
towards the group without directly looking at anyone, her eyes
still finding the designs around her more interesting almost as
if she'd never seen them before. Her strides were even and she
walked in time with the two servants though in actuality it was
more like they were walking in time with her. When she had slid
past the group to the middle of them she moved back making sure
to not bump into the one who was behind her- Sans. She bowed her
head and her upper body, pulling at the sides of her dress.
"Excuse me King. I do not wish to interrupt but I believe these
ladies here have tended to me enough." Her voice had a certain
feathery tone to it. So light and articulate you'd think she
practiced speech on a daily basis. The servants had stopped
walking just a few inches beyond the group but they too bowed in
respect to their king. Haruno looked up as she straightened her
posture. "Who is it I am to entertain?" She placed a hand to her
chest, closing her eyes for a moment as she let out a soft
exhale. "There is someone I must see later so I only have a
little time." She bowed again but in an apologizing fashion.
"I do not wish to leave so soon after being here for such a
short time but this is...important. How long will your business
last?" She questioned while now straightened in posture and
looking at him. There was a golden tattoo on the side of her
neck- a royal insignia that resembled the one on Asgore's royal
throne. Haruno had not really noticed anyone besides Undyne nor
had she turned around to check. It hadn't really come to her to
think on it either. Her fingers ran through her long somewhat
large curled, black hair. Much floofier than it had ever been
before. Her long black dress framed her hips but swooped out
just a bit before her knees, touching the ground and trailing
behind her. As of now the gem beast was completely at ease and
she currently did not feel pain like she did the other day but
there was a bit of worry somewhere inside of her. The way she
reformed...she knew the answer was somewhere out there- outside
of this castle...the reason was out there and she needed to find
it to be sure she knew what it was. The tugging at her soul was
strong and even more so- familiar yet so foreign.
Haruno cupped her hands together, forming a small bubble with a
violet hue. It disappeared a moment after and her hands found
their way back at her sides.

Re: Reunion.

Undyne turned to Zarc at his question and answered honestly,
"Actually, I'm not entirely sure myself."
Now second guessing whether if she should have said that or not,
she cast Asgore an apologetic glance.
----
For that brief moment Toriel had run a finger along the top of
his skull Sans' smile was genuine and as he looked up to her the
lights in his eye sockets seemed to have sparkled for a moment.
The skeleton then shifted his gaze to the other goat monster in
the room, opting to remain politely quiet and allow for his mask
of a smile to settle on his face with an unreadable grin once
again. In truth, Sans was more than happy to not argue in seeing
Flowey again. Forgiveness was something difficult for Sans to
grasp onto easily, especially when met with someone as twisted
as the husk was when seeking pleasure in the deaths of others.
So, it was probably in everyone's best interests - especially
the maternal goat monster, considering the circumstance, was for
Sans to avoid the fallen prince whenever possible. He wasn't
quite sure how he felt about Asgore knowing that he has seen
enough of him as it was. It felt a little invasive, but also at
the same time, given what had happened, also inevitable that the
king of monsters would find out.
Sans continued to remain silent when Zarc spoke up, resisting
the urge to nod in agreement for the sake of avoiding the risk
of getting on the king's bad side again. He was quite happy just
standing back and assessing the situation unfold and forming his
own judgement privately - something he was particularly good at
doing and didn't feel it necessary to contribute. That is, of
course, the arrival of another monster entered the room.
"This isn't funny."
The lights vanished from Sans' sockets - and not in a menacing
way either. If anything there was a pang of panic which rippled
through every bone in his body; almost sounding like a worn out,
muffled wind chime made from bones as he shuddered slightly. His
fluffy slippers squeaked softly along the marble floor as he
retreated half-a-shuffle back. The ivory of his bones seemed to
have paled - as if he saw a ghost, a ghost from the past rather
than one may encounter in the Ruins or in Waterfall.
'How? She was dead. I put her remains in an
urn.' he thought to himself as his mind began to race
through different possibilities. Each passing one weighing
heavier on the Sentry's mind. Then a very obvious one struck his
mind and he could have sworn that his soul had skipped a beat
and sunk, 'A Reset... right? When did it
happen? How did I not realize any time sooner? What did I miss?
How did he die? Did he die? When did he die? How far back did
he send us? How many times is it now? I've lost track. Damn. Was
I here before... I don't remember coming back to the castle like
this.'
He then went as still as a stone-cold statue and Sans didn't
dare look at Toriel as the next thought crossed his mind,
'...Did that night never happen?'
The knuckles well hidden in the pockets of his jacket cracked
angrily as the skeleton managed to look back up at the king with
a deceptively calm tone and his usual grin to match in tranquil
fury. In fact, a curious tone he had put on was quite
convincing, "How long has she been around?
Why didn't you tell me sooner? Were you being secretive to keep
it a surprise? With all do respect Your Highness, and as well
intended it might have been, I'm uh, kinda not used to
surprises. Not sure if I like them. It's been... very difficult
for me to deal with that ever since the incident. I would have
appreciated to not have to wait until the moment she suddenly
walks in front of me."

Re: Reunion.

I scratched the back of my furry head with a small grin "Aha
please it's alright. We will only be about...20 minutes I hope.
" I noticed the expression on Sans face. I could see him more
than I could hear him move back a bit. The circle was a bit
crowded with the tall woman in the middle, her dress wasn't
exactly small either. I felt my throat get hot again- so many
questions and it nearly felt all at once. "Slow your roll there
Sans." Sometimes I could not calm myself no matter what I did-
and I understood where he was coming from but even if it wasn't
exactly in his nature it felt like any minute he would have a
panic attack. I saw Haruno nod towards me- that was all the
confirmation I needed.
I released a low sigh before I collected myself and bent over
slightly as I went to speak to Sans, Haruno moved out of the way
so I could do so properly. "Thank you for being so respectful in
such a situation. That kind of atmosphere has seemed mostly
non-existent here. First off she was supposed to remain where
she was but..." I looked to her but she was looking off
somewhere else either purposely avoiding my gaze or something
else. "That didn't work out."
I offered Sans an apologetic bow of my own. "However I wish I
knew surprises were not your thing. Another reason I wish you'd
stop disappearing on me when I wish to talk. To answer your
other question she was found in Waterfall. According to the
guards she was floating upon the water- subconscious in effect
but not moving. That was late in the afternoon yesterday so
beyond then I do not think she was around. Did you not wish to
see her?"
At this Haruno turned her head and piped up with a small "What?"
She had tuned out most of the conversation...again. All she
heard was 'Not want to see her' and by that she knew that she
was being talked about. Her scarlet red eyes fell on Sans. When
Asgore stood back to full height she crouched, eyes staring
directly at Sans. She stared intensely as if trying to identify
him or even scan him with her eyes but that expression fell and
she smiled. "Don't really know what this is about but it's nice
to see you again S-...S-...." Haruno raised a hidden eyebrow and
looked down as her hand came up to her mouth. She couldn't say
his name? It just wouldn't come out. She put on a fake grin to
hide her concern for it then spoke once more. "Well it's nice to
see you again."

Re: Reunion.
By: Zarc Tenebris Date: September 25, 2017, 5:25 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Zarc furrowed his brow a little, but not out of anger, just a
little bit of disappointment. It was a shame that Undyne either
didn't know or wasn't at liberty to say. She honestly didn't
seem the type to hide how she felt even if she was ordered to.
An earlier experience with the Royal Guard made this conclusion
easier to come by. Matters of the Soul and it's bonds were
complex, intricate and most of all powerful.
Soon enough; along came Haruno. A being that by everyone's
accounts-- should be dead. Dust. Gone. Now, here she was, alive
and apparently well. It was a surprise, yes, not exactly
unwelcome or anything of the sort seeing as she was at least
somewhat decently acquainted with Sans, but things like this
just did not happen, not naturally. Only one thing could explain
this. A reset. If one happened, would Sans know?
The skeleton in question understandably was sent into a panic
upon seeing Haruno. While Zarc was not immediately aware of
Resets unlike Sans who also retained his memories, Zarc at least
knew of them now... That said, If a reset indeed occurred, with
Zarc himself still retaining the knowledge that they were even a
thing, it might not have been done too far back-- and even if it
was, it would've been back at the time Haruno perished at the
hands of Flowey where the Temporal Loops were active and
protecting the group from resets! Zarc racked his brain but
nothing added up. His wings twitched as a now obvious scowl came
across his face. Haruno didn't even seem to fully remember Sans,
and it was honestly quite sad. Her grin was so obviously fake
that it made Zarc nearly physically sick.
In all of this, after all that had just been spoken, Zarc became
so rightfully pissed off; fully glaring at Asgore. He trembled,
trying his damnedest to hold back for the sake of people other
than himself, and...
[glow=purple,2,300]6[/glow][glow=red,2,300]6.[/glow][glo
w=pink,2,300]6[/glow][glow=white,2,300]%[/glow]
In a flash, a reaction occurred as a result of the current
situation. The ringing of power culminating over a monster's
Soul; Zarc's Soul. It had three distinct tunes to it,
interestingly enough. One dignified yet not without its edged
limits, the one behind it was oddly droll yet fierce and
ominous. The final tone harmonized the first and second. The
humming sound reached out very slightly, as if specifically
calling to Toriel, Sans and... Oddly enough; Undyne. With the
recent incident concerning Flowey and over-exposure to the rapid
changing of Soul Mode during a tense moment at the time, this as
not too different. However, instead of grasping upon someone
else's Soul, it resonated. This was a second instance Soul
Resonance; the rare side effect of the group's earlier actions.
How Zarc felt about this meeting was clear enough, but to those
three if they cared to pay attention, it would become far
clearer. The winged monster carried with him a sense of duty; as
well as belief in several things. Good was the default of being;
Evil was a mistake and an awful blemish upon the world.
Compassion was normal, thoughtless malevolence was not.
In this world it was love and be loved, not kill or be
killed.
In this astoundingly weird and brief moment; Toriel, Sans and
Undyne were given view of some memories. The first batch were
all brief, collages of happiness that blurred past each other
rapidly, and a few stuck out among the rest. Zarc's family; his
father and siblings, meeting Sans, scoring a date with River and
one last memory that seemed odd compared to the others. It was
the visage of a person with glasses-- Zarc's glasses-- and a
notebook. Who was that?
There was little time to figure out because the next flash came.
It was of a single memory, one that felt as if it was being
experienced from two dissonant important angles-- one of which
was Zarc's, which displaced and oddly dormant, as if it didn't
properly exist yet-- and the other was... Something else. Less
of a person, more of a force; KARMA. An ancient manifestation of
it dwell within him. Clammy, cold, uninviting... Yet merciless
in the face of evil's unnatural choking grip on the people of
this world. In this memory flash, the entity that could be
understood as being Zarc at some point in the past was facing
off against something. The visuals were blurry, sure, but the
feeling and emotion was certainly there. A blurred image of
something clad in white, silver and gold. It was not seen as a
monster, and it was not human either... No, it was seen as pure
evil.
The moment faded, and Zarc's Soul fluttered back to normality.
He had many things to say to Asgore regarding all of this, but
he had no energy to properly do so. This encounter alone
enforced the belief that Asgore was nothing more than his sins
and cowardice. Toriel was right. Sans was right. The three of
them didn't need to be here. With a deep breath, Zarc's
expression of deep seething anger faded as he gave a brief
neutral glance to Haruno. Following that was a pained expression
of regret to Undyne, apologetic, but for what?
Zarc brought himself closer to Sans and Toriel, not even
bothering to look at Asgore for fear that he might do or say
something irreversibly stupid. The winged monster gave a hushed
grumble and whispered to them under his breath. "We shouldn't
have to suffer being here anymore.". He truly believed it wasn't
worth it. Toriel practically denouncing Asgore, Sans being
strung along with surprises and Zarc's own deep seeded distaste
for the 'Failure King' all became one thing; more of a reason to
leave.
It would clear to at least Sans that Zarc was requesting
something very important. Only a few times would he ever want a
quick way to somewhere... "We need a shortcut."

The sudden fluctuation of power which suddenly radiated from
Zarc had Undyne react by taking a more cautious, readied stance.
She didn't feel threatened, but by instinct she placed herself
between him and the king and she wanted to be prepared - just in
case. Sans on the other hand, didn't seem to be worried - nor
too surprised by his friend's reaction. While the skeleton was
actively averting his gaze from Haruno to aid in recollecting
himself and focus on what was happening around them.
The visions which had reached Undyne and Sans reminded them of a
similar feeling when their Soul-Bound Magic had reached other
monsters in the minds for an extended, powerfully-gripped time.
The pair didn't say much of anything - nor had the opportunity
to when a loud rumble of collapsing rock had boomed a short
distance away; shortly after the visions from Zarc had ended.
The Captain didn't really spend much time to reflect on that
pained, apologetic expression she received from the rock star,
for she immediately whirled around to face towards the sound of
the noise.
"What was that?" she questioned aloud, more so as a reaction and
asking rhetorically than actually expecting an answer.
'That came from outside.'
"Sorry, gotta go." were the last fleeting words which were said
by the fish monster as she gave the group a formal, brief salute
as a parting gesture before she turned heel and charged towards
the exit; kicking down or kicking open doors that were in her
way as she went.
At Zarc's notion Sans was all too happy to comply, regardless of
that sudden interruption of whatever it was outside, [font=comic
sans ms]"You got it dude." he replied with a nonchalant,
yet relieved tone and within a second or so later, Zarc, Toriel
and Sans were gone. An aftershock from the sudden use of the
Shortcut may have been decidedly placed in attempt to knock over
Haruno, but one cannot know for sure if it was deliberate or
purely coincidental.

While Asgore stepped back to allow Haruno the space to engage
with Sans as she saw fit, his head tilted slightly with
curiosity as she seemed unable to speak the skeleton’s name.
Odd. He granted that she had been through a lot most likely,
having apparently died and somehow come back to life. Perhaps
that process had damaged her memory? He couldn’t see her face to
behold the false grin she was giving Sans, so he simply opted to
dismiss the thought for now, as there were other more pressing
matters at hand.
Though he was looking at Sans initially, it wasn’t hard to feel
the outright glare that Zarc directed his way, prompting the
monarch to lift his head in a manner that was at least slightly
haughty as he raised an eyebrow at the pointy-eared monster,
lips turned down in a slight frown. That expression deepened a
little more as that fluctuation in power came from the winged
man and Undyne stepped between them in that readied stance.
Anything that might have been was interrupted by that sudden,
rather loud disturbance, even prompting Asgore to turn toward
the apparent direction of the audio with a soft huff of flame
from his nostrils as his cape half swirled from the motion. The
Captain asked the obvious question before it could pass his
lips, prompting a mild shake of the head in his ignorance,
though it was soon obvious that the woman was about to take her
leave to find out for herself, whether or not the King gave his
permission.
Well, it was a rather loud bang. Best to be safe.
He turned about to address his guests after a few moments of
thought to himself, only to find the trio gone. It prompted a
heavy sigh for the collapse of what should have been -- in his
mind -- a pleasant and productive gathering. Fire and bile
gathered at the back of his throat in his annoyance before he
made a dismissive gesture toward Haruno. “It seems that you
won’t have to worry about missing that important meeting,
Haruno. Apologies for troubling you needlessly to entertain my
guests. You are free to go.”
With that final matter taken care of, Asgore turned heel to walk
off, cape billowing behind him from the forceful pace of his
long stride as he departed. After such a sudden, emotional storm
had beset it and was just as quickly gone with the shifting wind
that was chance, it left the room once more in utter silence. It
was reminiscent of a tomb in that wake, but perhaps such was
appropriate given the sole, remaining occupant left behind in
that fallout’s aftermath...
