Blow out the candles
By: Just-a-Dreemurr Date: May 23, 2017, 5:06 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Though it was usually crowded with people, today the bar was
quite very empty, as were Meka's pockets, for booking such a
venue for a party didn't come without its expenses. Balloons of
varying shapes and colours were tied up outside the entrance to
the bar, and a banner was hung above the door that said "Happy
18th Birthday". Foods of all sorts of varieties were spread out
over tables to the left of the building which had been
rearranged to accommodate the banquet while still allowing room
in the middle of the building if people wanted to dance to the
music which gently thrummed from the jukebox. Party hats, each
with a piece of paper on the inside with a role written on it
were on a smaller table by the door, which participants would
have to take as they came in.
Besides Meka, her younger sister and both of her parents there
was nobody else around. Meka's party hat seemed to slip down her
head slightly at the thought, only not falling off because of
her right horn was underneath it.
"Don't worry Meka, I'm sure people will come at some point...
the day has only just begun! Give it some time... besides, you
should be celebrating! Not only is everything as it should be in
the Underground again, but you are turning 18" her father
reassured softly, running a paw through his thick black mane as
he thought. Her mother sat quietly at one of the tables with her
younger sister, Kapral, who seemed to be chattering on excitedly
about something, all the while clutching a party hat tightly in
her paw. Meka walked over and sat down next to her sister,
booping her nose gently and helping her put on the party hat in
such a way that it would not fall off.

Re: Blow out the candles
By: Marver Date: May 24, 2017, 12:02 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Lurking in the streets outside, a young dragoness with three
fist-sized orbs of glass orbiting around her was out and about
when she really shouldn't have been. After the incident in the
mines her elder sister Cobalt had been adament on locking her up
tight in the forge until she deemed it safe again for her to
leave.
Alas, for the free spirited monster was not one to be kept in
one place for long. So, the devious dragon snuck out and decided
to explore Snowdin and knowing how much Cobalt dislikes the
cold, there's a good chance of not running into her here.
Maybe.
That and, well she had never been to Snowdin before. Marver
walked about the snowy town with eyes wide filled wonder and
happiness. It was such a cute and happy little town! How could
she not like it here? The silvery-pink dragon trudged through
the snow, giggling softly at the odd, cold feeling it wad to
wade through the snow which was knee-deep to her. Every now and
then she would catch a snowflake or two with her mouth and the
young dragoness would also leap about and roll playfully in the
snow.
Her eyes then fell upon the Grillby's establishment; she had
heard about it so much before so the dragon couldn't resist
going in. When she did, she was surprised to see a couple of
familiar faces - Kapral's and Meka's.
Marver bounded over to the goat sisters, "Kapral! Meka! It's
good to see you!" she greeted cheerfully before looking up and
noticing the birthday sign, "Oh? Is it your birthday? I didn't
know."
She then placed a thoughtful claw to her chin; she felt awful
shlwing up without a present - even if she didn't know. However
her eyes lit up with an idea as she looked to the three orbs of
glass hovering around her. She retreated a few steps away from
everyone in the room to a safe distance - just in case and her
eyes lit up an aqua-green hue. The glass orbs smashed together,
shattering into hundreds of pieces but every piece was still
contained within a small space in front of her. Soon afterwards
the pieces of glass started squirming and running over one
another, like hundreds of ants swarming over food as they
started to reshape into new more recognisable forms. Before long
the prbs has been remolded and shaped to represent each family
member of Meka's whom were currently in the room. The little
sparkling glass figures of the family stood close together on a
flat piece of thicker glass; even their happy facial expressions
could be seen when held up at the right angle in the light.
Marver smiled sweetly as she carefully hovered her newly made
gift to Meka, "Happy Birthday!"

By: Futura Matador Date: May 24, 2017, 2:46 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Today was a typical day in Snowdin for Futura. The sky was its
usual grey and they were ready for some fun today. This time,
they wanted to go into Grillby's to try to trick the bartender
into giving them a drink again--or steal some if they can't
convince him otherwise.
Futura snuck into the restaurant and strolled on by the scene to
the side, unsure what that was. Leaping onto a stool on the bar,
the young skeleton awaited for their order, overhearing a "Happy
Birthday" from a dragoness towards another young monster like
themself.
Turning their head around, Futura spotted the beautiful young
monster to the side, looking lonely and sad from the lack of
party guestsover in her corner, and they blushed.
Futura sighed as they leapt from the stool and waltzed right
over towards them, smiling confidently to try to hide their
blush. "Hey, everybody! I didn't know there was a birthday party
for such a lovely birthday girl over here!" Futura smirked with
their arms out, coming to a rest while leaning towards the girl
herself. "And what is this lovely birthday girl's name,
anyway~?"

Meka instantly smiled as she saw the young Dragoness approach.
"M-Marver! It's so good to see you, how are you? I'm surprised
that Cobalt let you out.... didn't she ground you? Oh well, it's
great to see you nonetheless!" she cried out excitedly. Meka
stood up, considering offering Marver a hug but quickly lost her
confidence and decided against it.
"It's alright that you haven't got anything"Meka began, waving
her paws in a way that suggested that Marver shouldn't worry so
much. She was about to continue when Marver started using her
magic to create the tiny replicas. It was, in Meka's opinion,
quite wondrous and rather beautiful to watch the formation of
the glass family. The goat cupped her hands over her mouth to
suppress a gasp as she realized what they had been shaped into,
and her eyes seemed slightly more glossy than usual.
"Marver... it's... I.... Thank you, s-so much" she uttered,
barely able to get the words out. Meka took a few deep breaths
to prevent herself from crying before carefully taking the gift
and running a finger over the intricate monster statues.
"This... this means a lot to me" the teen continued, offering a
happy smile. The gift was carefully placed down on a table next
to Meka's mother and Kapral so that the older monster could keep
it safe.
Hearing the sound of another monster approaching Meka turned,
seeing a skeleton monster stroll on in and take a seat at the
bar. When they turned their head Meka realized that she was
still staring in that direction and quickly looked back to
Marver. "Why am I so awkward?" she thought to herself. She had
never seen this monster around before, and had most certainly
never seen a monster dress the way that they did. The clothing
choice was unusual and fascinating... she felt as though she may
have seen something similar in a book in the Libraby once, but
couldn't quite place it.
The way this monster addressed her and their body language
caused a lavender glow to spread across her cheeks and she
avoided eye contact."Oh, m-m-my name? My name... is Meka!" she
stuttered. Nobody had ever spoken to her like this before, and
she was unsure as to whether she liked it or was scared by it.
From where she sat next to their mother Kapral offered a broad
smile, but then became slightly bashful. She admired Marver
greatly, and they had been through a lot together, but seeing
Marver seemed to make her slightly fearful though she tried not
to show it. Both of the adult boss monsters seemed thoroughly
impressed with the glass work of the young dragon, and Futura
was extremely lucky that Meka's father was so absorbed in the
glass models

After the whole genie event in the mines, Sakura hadn't done
much in her spare time. The parents from the child she tried to
save had tracked her down and offered her a place of stay and
eat for what she had done. She however felt that she hadn't done
to much. Accepting the offer, she then returned to the
wildnerness of the underground. She stopped by the area where
the boy had passed away to pay her respects before heading back
to snowdin. She felt like having a bite to eat at Grillby's.
When she arrived however, she was a bit shocked to see a
birthday party going on. And from the look of things, it was
Meka's birthday. Feeling a bit bad for dropping in without a
gift, she felt at least obligated to wish the girl a happy
birthday at least. Walking over to her, Sakura put on a friendly
smile and waved to the goat monster.
" Heya Meka...happy birthday. " Sakura said with a smile and rub
of her head.

Upon seeing the arrival of Sakura Meka's attention instantly was
diverted from Futura to the kitsune.
"Sakura! What a pleasant surprise seeing you! Wow, there are so
many people here!" she exclaimed. "You look hungry...grab
yourself a plate and help yourself to some food! There's plenty
to go around!" the goat continued.

Sakura blinked in surprise when Meka said she looked hungry. A
sudden grumble confirmed she was in which she blushed. " Hehe
that noticable huh? Thanks for the offer. I think i will eat
something. " the kitsune replied before going to grab a bite to
eat.

Linny was walking through Snowdin again, feeling comfortable to
show her face in town after all of the years she'd been isolated
and wanted to go to Grillby's. She noticed the warm lighting and
heard a murmur of commotion within the establishment and smiled
brightly before she walked inside. "Meka? Is that you? Oh! Oh my
gosh, happy birthday! Sorry that it's been a while.." She
admitted sheepishly, not liking the fact about her absence. She
looked at the three others and her family with her contagious
grin that the inhabitants of Snowdin had grown to love and waved
at each of them. While she was waving, she noticed the younger
skeleton. "Oh! Hey there.. I- I mean, my name's Lucida
Calligraph, but you can call me Linny.. It's really nice to see
another skeleton besides the brothers here in Snowdin, if I'm
being honest." She said with a smirk, her bright eyelights
sparkling like iridescent quartz when she looked her over.
She pulled a trinket out of her coat pocket- a tiny and very
detailed sculptured pendant of a monster soul with roses and
lilies covering half of it with a chain, giving it to Meka. "I-I
know it's really small, but I used my own magic to make it..
It's made of bone and the lilies are made of opal and the roses
are ruby.. It took a while to design how it was going to end up
looking when it was done, but I was going to give it to you
anyway for helping me back at Ms. Trinity's when I got kicked
out." She explained, her nervous stutter coming back as she
handed the goat monster the fragile piece of jewelry.

The arrival of Linny was not only a huge surprise but also
incredibly welcome to Meka. Visible excitement was evident in
the body language of the goat: she wasn't even aware that this
many monsters were aware of her existence. It was a very lonely
life she had lead before she crossed the river and started
interacting with the Snowdin residents, and now look! There were
many monsters here! Well, not really.... but many to Meka.
"Linny! It sure has been a while! Aww, thank you for the
birthday wishes! I can't believe the time is going so fast" she
replied, a grin seemingly plastered to her muzzle. She looked
with curiosity at the skeleton as she fished around in her
pocket and produced this pendant. Any words that she was
planning on saying disappeared as the goat monster gazed upon
the beautiful pendant. It was taken delicately, and Meka was
quick to slip it around her neck, the pendant part hanging
gently against the top of her chest. It seemed to resonate with
her soul, and the young boss monster could almost feel the love
that was put into making it.
"It's beautiful, I love it! You had made this just for me?
That's so sweet, thank you!" she exclaimed. Her eyes seemed to
shine more than usual, and her snout twitched slightly, as if
she were trying not to sniffle. Meka gave the skeleton a warm
hug and then smiled some more.

[glow=pink,2,300](Sorry guys, Imma close this thread up and then
start a new one. Feel free to jump to the new thread if you so
desire. This one has just been lingering for a while, and I
figure some story progression may be good, since some very
defining events are going to happen).[/glow]
Now that there were an ample amount of people, the fun began.
There was a period of eating and drinking, though throughout
most of it the sound socializing monsters and soft background
music was heard rather than actual eating. After that party
games were played, and after the games came the presents from
Meka's parents. However, the most significant event of the night
happened toward the end of the party.
Meka cleared her throat as to grab the attention of everyone
there, before making an announcement.
"I've been thinking about this for a while now... but I think
I'm going to move into Snowdin! Not in the town-town, but in the
forest area!I received a building permit, so I'm going to set up
there... So I can be closer to everyone!"
Well, closer to most... but further from her family....
