Part III: You're Kinda Boned.
By: Sans Date: April 16, 2017, 12:22 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
((This thread is strictly restricted for
characters whom have formed a good friendship with Sans or is
related to him only.))
((Welcome to the finale of the arc! I understand that it would
be too much pressure to finish up prior threads first, so I have
decided to not make it essential to do so. You may finish up
prior threads at your own time but please do not create any new
ones in between those and the finale ones for characters
involved in the arc. This is of course set after all previous
RPs. ))
[[Important: Originally when I planned this Arc
months ago, I intended for the finale to happen in one thread
where everyone gathers together with what they have learned and
the allies they have formed to face the challenges which lie
ahead. However, due to the number of participants I have divided
Part III into 3-4 threads so that it could be managed easier
without it turning into a confusing shitstorm of posts. Not only
that, I have also created a means so that all characters will be
actively aware of what is happening in all other threads which
will occur simultaneously. You will see what I mean once you
start reading. ;) Also, as a side-note, I also originally
planned some puzzles and riddles for you lot to solve to help
strengthen your friendships but you've already had a couple of
months to bond and for me to have a good idea of what your
characters are like. So, without further adieu, I'm cutting out
all the filler and we will dive right into the thicket of
things! Thank you and good luck! I have up-most confidence in
all of you that you will do well, despite the steep challenges
and bombshells which await you. 8)]]

-----
A week has passed since the fissure had erupted throughout the
Underground; stretching from Snowdin all the way to Hotlands
with it being at it's widest in Waterfall. Currently, the skies
were a dull orange-gray due to dark clouds forming beneath a
vibrant orange, dusk sky. Rain poured in from the sky - though
it was not too heavy and manageable. It was real rain for once,
the differences between rain falling from the sky and the ones
in some parts of Waterfall were subtle but this rain was
certainly more refreshing.
Here, in Waterfall, Sans had organised a rendezvous with friends
he had trusted, asking them to meet up with him and help him
with what he suspects plays a large part in all the strange
occurrences as of late. When they had all arrived the skeleton
handed each of them silver, flexible headbands with blue gems at
their fronts and asked them to put them on before leading them
down to a tunnel. A tunnel, which, to those whom may be familiar
to the area will recognize to be mineshafts leading to a mine
which had been abandoned so long ago. The tunnels were narrow,
just barely enough to fit a monster one-at-a-time. Most may find
that their shoulders would brush along the wet, smooth rocks and
that if they didn't watch their step carefully; they could
easily slip on the uneven, wet, rocky floor.
The skeleton was at the very front of the group, choosing not to
wear a headband and with Toriel right behind him, he had taken
an umbrella from one of the stands and held it as far up as his
short arm could go to help shield her from the rain without her
needing to bend over, "...So, ordinarily I
wouldn't be telling monsters about this sort of thing - and that
I can usually take care of things on my own - but I figured I
could at least trust you guys with this sort of information.
Plus with me not being at my top-game, I'm going to need help
dealing with this problem. Probably lots of it if I'm right. I
have an idea on who is behind all of the weird stuff that's
happened. I know a guy. Well. A sentient flower. He's uh... bit
of a freak. Goes by the name of Flowey - heh, original right?
It's like if my name was Skelly. Skelly the Skeleton. Heh. How
lame. Aaaanyways, long-story-short he has the ability to
manipulate time to his will and has Determination. Meaning that,
if he somehow dies, it's going to have to happen more than once
to keep him down. Over the years he has been toying with all of
us by turning back time and Resetting the world and everyone's
memories and experiences back to the last significant point in
his life purely for his amusement. He's killed a lot of
monsters, and I mean a lot before. You may not realize it, but
this time things are very different. So different that I am
concerned about what he has learned and if he has any plans to
kill anyone." the skeleton said tiredly, finishing his
explanation. He sounded rather serious for once, voice low and
direct; quite unlike the nonchalant and upbeat one riddled with
jokes.
Sans then stopped walking half-way through the mineshaft and
rested his free hand on the wall beside him; leaning his weight
onto it while insisting on keeping the umbrella over Toriel, not
quit caring if the rain fell onto him. his breathing was
noticeable - which was odd since he is a skeleton - it was
rather heavy and uneven and he had closed his eye sockets
tightly as he took a moment for a break. To those with
exceptional eyesight might notice the thin layers of the surface
of his bones blow off in tiny particles at a very slow and fine
rate in the breeze.
((P.S. About a week has passed since this occurrence due to all
the extra Side RPs which have taken place. ;) ))

(Since lord knows we can finish up the other threads later, I'm
just gonna go ahead and devote my time to this thread.)
I warped into existence near the front of the group, taking one
of the shortcuts I knew so well to catch up to the others after
delivering Trinity her device; I had the headband that he had
given me already on, and after following the sound of his voice,
I eventually caught up to the group that he had assembled; He
had stopped walking, leaning up against the cave wall. I went up
beside him and offered my hand out for support...
"Sorry I couldn't make it here sooner. But I'm here now; Would
you like some assistance, Sans?... I know you're not exactly the
best of monsters when it comes to endurance. I'd be happy to
help you along for now, should you require it. Let's make that
flower pay for what he's done to us time and time again."
I was ready for whatever may come; My magical powers would be
used to their full extent, even AFTER I had my skull nearly
shattered by the bomb that Link had hit me with all that time
ago... I may not be as powerful as I used to be, but I was still
a tough old skeleton, and a force to be reckoned with. A little
crack wouldn't prevent me from helping in any way that I could.
I knew not the extent of what we were dealing with, I knew not
if I would survive the experience, but I DID know one thing for
certain; I would either win, or die trying. And I was...
strangely okay with that. If I did die, at the very least, it
will have been for a good cause.

---------------------------------------------------------
Hara truly had nothing better to do when Sans had called on
Haruno to come join him on his journey but as of late she'd been
feeling off about a lot of things. The blackness that she
usually resided in had warped in ways she had never seen before.
The overly evil, cunning, and conniving woman wasn't one for
feeling but; what she felt before brought a strange sensation to
her. It was an unexplained phenomenon that she was sure Haruno
would understand if she put her mind to it. The only reason she
could conclude that Haruno would be able to understand and she
wouldn't was that it REQUIRED feeling. Haruno had more feeling
and passion than Hara ever could. Well for the time being that
is. So of course she couldn't describe what it was that warped
that space inside of their body the way it did. Even Haruno at
this point in time would need a bit to figure out exactly what
the hell it was.
So here she was, her outfit completely shifted entirely to
compensate for the narrow passage of the tunnel or cave they
were entering.(Outfit shown below...just instead of blue it's
purple.) Hara gagged every time she blinked and eventually
settled to not blink at all. As a part of Haruno she too held
alter vision which heightened all of her senses like crazy. So
all the smells suddenly attacked her like a bath filled with
bleach. Her venomous purple eyes glowed a bit in the dark area
like Haruno's would and the gem band she received was consumed.
Consider it her form of cannibalism since she was a parasitic
gem-beast too. Of course she had the option to remove it from
her system but it wasn't likely that she would. Her little
energy balls were also sources of light for her and the rest of
the crew following Sans. They also emitted a soft sound that was
very difficult to describe. It sounded like...princess magic or
something. Sounds sometimes weren't the easiest thing to
describe. Of course with Hara's came the dread version of the
usually lovely sound. It wasn't harmful or unpleasant to the ear
but it was kind of depressing. The only thing the gem-beast
hadn't bothered doing was pulling her hair up into a ponytail.
Instead she settled for having it fall in it's long, silky,
black tresses down her back.

By: Toriel Date: April 16, 2017, 10:26 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Toriel would of course show up to where Sans has asked his
friends to meet up with him, she looked a little puzzled at the
headbands, but would slip her's around her head nonetheless,
trusting that Sans had a good reason for them to be wearing them
afterall.
Following the small skeleton down a tunnel of the abandoned
mineshafts, the former queen would look a bit concerned at the
narrowness of their path, but was glad she was close to Sans as
they wandered on through it, she would keep an eye on the ground
as she walked, hoping that she wouldn't slip on the wet floor.
The goat monster would look a bit surprised soon though, her
mouth forming the shape of an 'o' seeing Sans try and hold up an
umbrella to shield her from the rain. The former queen would
smile, he was ill, he couldn't reach so well, yet here he was
trying his best to ensure she didn't get wet... She would first
let him speak before acting, listening carefully to what the
skeleton had to say.
Flowey the Flower? A flower with the power to manipulate time,
do resets and the like.. She didn't like the sound of that,
someone like that shouldn't have such powers at their
disposal...
When Sans had finished speaking, he'd soon find a pair of gentle
arms wrapping around him, hoisting him up into the air before
he'd be hugged close to Toriel's body, she'd smile down at him,
now the umbrella could cover the both of them!
"There, can't have you out in the rain like that
with you already being sick my dear~" She'd coo gently,
doing her best to hold him in a way that was comfortable and
worked with the narrow tunnel they where in.
In truth, she was extremely concerned for Sans, you could notice
his breathing, it was heavy, it wasn't right, he was clearly
struggling even to just get them all through the tunnel... Not
just that but he was... flaking? She wanted to ask more on it,
she didn't believe he was as 'fine' as he had claimed back at
the bar. But she feared at getting the same or a similar
response... She would hug him a little tighter, trying not to
let the concern show too much on her face, but she couldn't help
it much, she cared for him after all.
"Mmmm... This Flowey is quite the concern.. What
exactly are these headbands for though, Sans?"

---------------------------------------------------------
Having been one of the people to help Sans design the headband
Alphys already had one in her possession. Due to her head shape
and glasses the headband required alterations, and she had built
it into her glasses. The blue gem sat atop the bridge of the
glasses in an almost tiara-like fashion, and the straps of the
headband were reconfigured to partially surround the frame of
her glasses and go around the back of her head to complete the
loop. She followed at the back of the line, her claws scrabbling
on the the slippery surface of the mine floor. Being short had
its advantages and she didn't need to worry about banging her
head on anything though every now and then she would have to
shift her arms to fit correctly. The natural rain made the
usually temperate waterfall almost cold... weather was a
fascinating thing. It was unusually hot when the sun was out,
but on rainy days such as this the temperature fluctuated in the
opposite direction. If her lab wasn't totally trashed and she
was not needed here Alphys would have been doing testing on the
weather and its patterns, but that wasn't possible currently.
At the mention of Flowey Alphys tensed up slightly, but kept
quiet.

By: Zarc Tenebris Date: April 16, 2017, 11:38 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Zarc was one of the first to show up, he listened intently to
Sans's explanation. Looks like the winged monster's theory was
correct. If Sans legitimately needed help, then something big
was going down. This time, it was far bigger than anyone would
hope to think, or really want to admit. Even manipulating time,
bending it to one's will would not absolve them of their
wretched past. Memories of those that couldn't persist might
fade under this treacherous and cowardly act, but...
[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left]Sin[/shadow][/glow] would not.
It never did. Maybe that talking weed, that evil in a plant's
shape didn't know that, or was arrogant enough to deny it. Maybe
it thought it was above all else. Perhaps, one day, it would
learn otherwise. [glow=#131313,2,300]Until then, it would only
make him a prime target for something that waited, biding its
time.[/glow]
"Oh-- sorry." Zarc moved over slightly as he noticed Alphys
tense up suddenly at the mention of the creature's 'name' "Hmph.
Anyone got any gardening tips?" He snarked, receiving the
headband from Sans, of whom he had a query. "Do we need to
actually wear these on our heads? If we all show up wearing them
like that it might arouse suspicion." Apparently one of the
others decided to just eat the headband and the gem whole...
That one would need to be watched carefully.
He shot a glare at Gaster when he arrived, almost going at him
for honestly being more of a bother than a father to Sans, but
out of respect for his friend, Zarc held back. "If you need to
ask him that, then why are you even here?" Erm, well, a little
bit. He held back a little bit.
Speaking of Sans, he wasn't looking any better. Zarc adjusted
his glasses as he gave a concerned glance to both the small
skeleton and Toriel. "I get they're important, but yeah, what do
they do exactly?"

[quote author=Sans link=topic=176.msg1934#msg1934
date=1492363323]
The tunnels were narrow, just barely enough to fit a monster
one-at-a-time. Most may find that their shoulders would brush
along the wet, smooth rocks and that if they didn't watch their
step carefully; they could easily slip on the uneven, wet, rocky
floor.
So when Gaster had moved up to the front where Sans was to stand
beside him, Sans, Toriel and Gaster were actually clogging up
the mineshaft; squished into both each other and the walls.
"How nice of you to have so much faith in
me." Sans grunted sarcastically at his father's comments
about his endurance before pointing out, [font=comic sans
ms]"Nah. I'm good. What Zarc said, if I didn't need your
assistance I wouldn't have asked you to come here. Do you mind
G? There's hardly any room as it is, even for me."
The shorter skeleton struggled to break free, his body
clattering against the cold walls and two of the monsters near
him. Feeling a little frustrated and exhausted, the skeleton's
left eye socket flashed a dim blue colour for a brief second and
Sans had teleported a few steps ahead to help unclog the tunnel.
While Hara/Haruno didn't say anything, Sans did nod at her as a
form of thanks for her joining in. He did look a bit concerned
about her eating the gem from the headband; if he had a stomach
it would have sunk at the thought after all the hard work and
time which had been put into making that with Alphys for it to
simply be gone in an instant. She was a Gembeast after all, so
Sans was hoping that the gem would at least still work on her.
He sighed, still with umbrella at hand he insisted on keeping
his arm held up for Toriel to stay dry. He was about to keep
moving forward until he opened his eye sockets with surprise
when Toriel had picked him up off of the ground. The skeleton
could feel a shade of blue rise at his Zygomatics and he let out
a raspy chuckle, "Hehehe thanks Tori, I
really needed that 'pick-me-up'."
He fell a bit limp her arms, Sans did feel quite exhausted and
with being this close to Toriel he wasn't about to complain.
Since she was holding him in front of her, rather than beside,
the group were still okay to make it through the mineshaft.
Sans then turned a bit in her hold to look past her arm to see
who else had arrived, he noticed Alphys and grinned at her and
commented, "Hey Al, glad you could make it.
Thanks for the help, I like the modifications you made. It suits
you."
The Sentry's attention was then brought to Zarc's questions,
"Whelp. The Weed is a bit of a megalomaniac.
Very self-centred, very egotistical and is a sore loser. Has a
tendency to twist words and the truth to manipulate monsters.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he started to harp on about
how great he is and how stupid we all are. Geez, he's starting
to remind me of someone else I know." he replied,
pinching the bridge of his Nasal bone at the thought,
"As for what these headbands are - and since
I have dealt with the Parasite for a while now - I had developed
a concept of how to counter the effects of the wearer's mind
from being erased with the rest of the world should Flowey
decide to turn back time and Reset. In theory, it should work,
but we won't know for sure until an actual Reset happens.
Ideally you should wear it, but uh, it could probably work just
as good if you keep it on you and activated. I don't think you
would be able to see everything as well as the others would if
you didn't wear it properly. You have a point though about all
of us showing up wearing those." he explained tiredly,
"Though none of it would have been possible
without Alphys' help. Even though it was my idea, it has been a
really long time since I actually practiced anything relating to
science, so, if I tried making these on my own the components
would probably explode or just not work at all. Just to be safe
you all can try activating them now if you want by tapping the
gem. Hara, I guess hopefully it'll just activate on its own? Oh
and uh, probably get used to what you might be seeing. If there
is anything out of the ordinary, like for example, something
that is here and isn't meant to be or is from the wrong time
period, it should highlight it with some information on when it
is from. Should appear kinda like a hologram of sorts."

By: Gaster Date: April 17, 2017, 1:28 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
"Ah. My apologies; I'll try not to clog up the tunnel again. But
we both know that my concerns about your stamina aren't
baseless... Nevertheless, I suppose Toriel has that base
covered; I know that I'm here to offer my assistance with the
flower, I should've specified further that my intent was to
carry you if you wanted it. But since the former Queen seems to
be doing that already, I shall simply consign myself to helping
eradicate the flower. "
Zarc's commentary and obvious dislike for me didn't go
unnoticed, but just as he held his tongue to an extent, I held
mine; Instead of the long lecture I wanted to give, I just
looked back at the Demonesque purple-haired monster briefly, and
said a few words of my own in return.
"Zarc, I appreciate that you're suppressing your obvious dislike
for me somewhat; In times like this, mutual toleration is a
preferable alternative to senseless bickering. So, with that
being said, let us go save the Underground, shall we? That is,
after all, why we're here..."
As I was listening to Sans speak more, I heard his comment about
Flowey being self-centered and egotistical; And I certainly
recognized who he was referring to when he said it was beginning
to remind him of somebody else he knew. Or, well, I thought I
did, anyways; I could always be wrong, but I also knew myself
rather well, and I knew he was probably talking about me, wasn't
he?
"In my defense, I AM trying to improve in that regard... But I'm
not denying that I'm not exactly the most humble of monsters
from time to time."

By: Toriel Date: April 18, 2017, 2:40 am
---------------------------------------------------------
"Just because I am attempting to care for, and am
being concerned for Sans, doesn't mean others, including
yourself can't attempt to do the same. If you had wanted to
carry him, perhaps you should've done so before I had? He didn't
seem to mind me picking him up without asking if I could, you're
his father, you don't need permission or an invitation to show
you care for your son and his health, Gaster" Toriel
would say, raising an eyebrow to the older skeleton,
"And, if Sans would prefer you to carry him, then
he is more then welcome to inform me of such, and I shall hand
him over to you"
"If Zarc is able to hold his tongue, then so can
you, please, we're here to help Sans"
The former queen would smile to Sans though, laughing lightly at
the comment after his chuckle, "You're more then
welcome~" When he fell a bit limp, she'd hold onto him a
little tighter, hoping soon to see him in a much better
condition then what he was in now...
Falling silent, she'd listen to Sans explain the headbands,
looking a bit impressed after he'd explained what they did, Zarc
also made a good point on how wearing them so obviously would
probably suggest something suspicious, hugging Sans close with
one arm for a moment, Toriel would pull her headband down so
that it acted more like a necklace instead, making it seem more
as just a part of her attire. She'd then resume carrying Sans
with both arms after doing so. It was still on her, close to her
head and should probably still work also.
"How clever and thoughtful of you and Alphys,
Sans!" She would exclaim, hoping Alphys had heard as
well, she couldn't really see all of those behind her and Sans
all too well at the moment.
As Sans suggested, she would tap her own gem on her headband to
activate it before awaiting to see what would happen after doing
so, humming a light laugh at Zarc's gardening comment. Looking
back to the skeleton in her arms, she'd then question,
"Sans, could what Flowey's been up to be linked at
all to your inability to sleep and such do you think? Maybe he
could be behind it? Since, as you've said, you've put a stop to
him in previous times, it would make sense for him to try and
derail you so he gets the upper.. petal?"
