       Reassurance. (ASGORE)
By: Mistral Date: March 26, 2017, 2:32 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Quietly, a tall figure walked into the white living room, gently
resting a hat on a rack as he carried a parcel of groceries in
his arms. It was solemn here, and the king was not present. With
a small sigh, the skeleton walked into the kitchen.
The kitchen was pleasantly covered in the aroma of something
baking fresh in the oven. It smelled about ready. Mistral
approached the oven and carefully opened it, breathing in.
Perfection, Snail Pie. The Caretaker adjusted his cuffs,
exposing his bare wrists as he looked to his phalanges. A faint
humming sound could be heard as a thin barrier covered his
       fingers.
"...I do hope he enjoys this."
Carrying the pie in his hands, Mistral made his way towards the
table and neatly placed the pie down on a saucer. He would fetch
a smaller saucer, knives, napkins, a glass, a pitcher filled
with ice, and, for his friend, a bib if things got messy. He
would retrieve his parcel, producing a jug of spider cider and a
spider loaf. Carefully he poured the delicious juice into the
pitcher, and placed the bread on another serving saucer next to
the Pie. He didn't always agree with Muffet's prices, but the
       quality was always guaranteed.
As the skeleton began to carve the bread, he decided it was time
       to summon his King.
"Asgore, your meal is ready, my friend!"

I looked up from an old newspaper I had been reading and gently
sat my tea cup down on the arm rest of my throne chair. It seems
Mistral has summoned me. What delicious feats await me today? I
entered my home, my castle, inhaling deeply. The scent that
filled my nostrils made me salivate. My eyes brightened in the
slightest as I walked in the direction of where I was called. I
entered the room to find Mistral standing respectfully next to a
table filled with desirable goods that I could already imagine
devouring. "Mistral thank you very much! I appreciate all that
you do. Might I add that this looks delightful? A true
delicacy!" I clapped my paws together in awe at the meal before
       me.
"How have you been Mistral?" I asked as I went to situate myself
at the table. "Would you care to join me?"

Mistral bowed, placing his hand where a human heart would be in
the process. It was rather difficult for a skeleton of his
features to change expressions, so he found creative ways like
that to express himself. Not body language, but "bone language."
"It really is no trouble at all. You are very welcome sir."
Mistral placed a hand behind his back proudly. "I'm very happy
to hear that it looks appetizing to you, as it's a recipe I've
been working quite hard to replicate. We have not had snail pie
in some time...but do please enjoy."
Mistral gave the king a hearty laugh at his offer. "Oh, you know
as well as I do that I couldn't eat a single bite. No, it is all
for you, but I will sit with the King and keep him company as he
       enjoys his meal."
The skeleton calmly sat down, adjusting his cuffs once more.
"Now to answer your question, I have been busy, but well. I've
been keeping things quite in order around the castle, and
       everything is being maintained accordingly."
       Mistral clicked his teeth slightly.
"Though... old friend... there are a few important matters I
wish to update you on, as recent events have occurred, but at
the moment I would like to know how you are doing as well. And
no, I will not inform you on these matters until you tell me
about yourself. I know how much you worry, but I guess you could
consider it repayment for your meal."
Mistral chuckled lightly, crossing his fingers.
"I worry about you Asgore, you carry a lot on your shoulders,
but don't ever forget to enjoy yourself. So please, tell me
       about you and your day."

I scratched the back of my head with a sillly grin. "Oh yes I
forgot. Food tends to go right through you doesn't it?" I
chuckled at my selective memory. "How silly of me to forget so
easily. I am however glad that you would join me." I dug into
the food lying on the table just calling out to me. I shuddered
as the taste hit my taste buds like a storm. Such a delicussy to
have Mistral by my side. He brought great comfort in the absence
of the queen. I'd never tell him but I lost all feeling for her
when she left. I still care for Toriel where ever she may be but
I no longer loved her. She left too large of a void inside for
me to ever see her in that way again. I swallowed the food in my
mouth so I could speak properly.
"I've been fine old friend. I bought from a spider sale a month
or so ago and the cookies are just so sweet. I've mostly been in
my throne room reading and drinking tea. I've had a few visitors
here and there. Now," My eyes became a bit steely as did my tone
yet I made sure to keep it friendly. "What changes am I not
       aware of?"

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Mistral clicked his teeth with gusto as Asgore enjoyed his meal.
It was another successful recipe. With delight, the skeleton
calmly touched his finger tips together as he nodded. "It took
some practice, but I figured you would enjoy it. Snails are
difficult mind you, I made the mistake of salting them when I
first practiced the recipe. Needless to say I had to run to the
       market shortly after, ahaha...."
Mistral opened his mouth slightly to simulate a smile. "You'll
enjoy the bread and the cider then, fresh from Ms. Muffet today
even. Her prices are...debatable but I figured you would enjoy
it. Visitors? I do admit I am surprised, you weren't keen to
visitors for some time... that's great news!"
The Caretaker cleared his throat in response to the King's
request. "Yes, very good sir. Allow me to put on my glasses..."
Reaching into his coat pocket, the Skeleton produced a small
pair of tiny round glasses, somehow resting them on his face.
Without further ado, Mistral unfolded a sheet of parchment.
"My friend, quite a bit has transpired lately. Since you have
enjoyed your meal for the most part and shared your day with me,
I will waste no time. I'll give you a list of headlines, and
then we can further discuss each one if you so wish."
The Skeketon made a motion as if he was licking his lips.
"-Children are being kidnapped across the Underground; large,
feral dog monsters are responsible. They have been known to be
called the 'Koray' if I am not mistaken.
-There have been rumors of secret intelligence meetings going on
in Snowdin Village. Not much is known but it is something to
consider looking into, as their intentions are unknown.
-Miss Red, prestigious apprentice of Undyne and a formidable
Royal Guardsman, has been apparently missing for days. Rumor has
it she was investigating the abduction of children, but was
       nowhere to be found.
-Royal Scientist, Alphys, has had her lab vandalized. Undyne had
investigated and is now watching over the scientist personally,
       for the time being.
Mistral exhaled slowly before reading this one.
"...There have been sightings of Dr. Gaster, rumored, but on
       multiple accounts.
-There is now visible damage to the ceiling caused by an unknown
party. This has resulted in noticeable temperature increase,
with changes to the climate imminent. Barrier integrity
       currently remains unknown.
-And last, there have been rumored sightings of a human with
       Purple hair...in Snowdin village."
The skeleton would calmly look to the King for his response.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
I pushed the now empty plates away from me so I could rest my
elbows on the table. My hands rested together under my chin in
loose fists, a thoughtful look on my mug. "The Koray you
say...hmm and is Alphys alright?" My eyebrow twitched a bit at
the news of Alphy's lab being vandalized. It had been a while
since I'd last heard from her but if I recall correctly the
little scientist asked for some time off. Who would vandalize
her Lab while she was away? I felt the eternal frown settle on
my face. I'm glad to have eaten before receiving this
information. I tended to be more civil with a full stomach.
Mistral knew me so well, it put a small dent in my frown. A sort
of half smile if you will.
I admired how serious Mistral became when necessary. His changes
were so fluid but always precise. I was glad to have him at my
side. I would trade him for no other. I valued him far more than
any noble for certain. I didn't care much for the secret
meetings I had my part-time secretary informing me of all that
went on in fields like that. Speaking of which...no Red came
first. "If there was a possibility that she was captured and is
being contained we need Harbinger on the case right away. I
believe him to be the only general I have available. If you
would make arrangements for him to meet me as soon as possible.
Last I checked he was in Snowdin." I hummed in assurance after
my statement. This was a lot but there was no need to get
stressed. I had to just attack these problems with the best
       decisions I could muster.
"I already know of Dr. Gaster. I met him once after his return
and he will return to me to explain himself in due time. If you
can get a message out please update Undyne on all of this too. I
think she should know- but be subtle! I don't want her to leave
Alphys unguarded. I currently don't have anyone to protect her
in her place besides myself and I don't want to make the Royal
Scientist uncomfortable by making her stay here." I said with a
firm tone. Now the damage to the ceilings...that could be fixed
in due time but right now..."A human with purple hair you say?"
My eyes grew dark, hiding somewhere in them was the guilt I
bared from the children I had killed to take their souls.
"My secretary will be of use in that field. I don't know where
she is but if you can find Haruno Medici and inform her of where
the human has been then she'll be off to find them. It's been a
while since I spoke to her but she informed me of the secret
meetings. A thing you should know Mistral- I made her my
'secretary' because of her element. She is oblivious to some
things but she believes because I'm king that she can't lie to
me so she told me everything about her and how she works. Her
special element is a great benefit to us so it's wise you find
her and tell her of this human. She will capture them for us.
Can you do that for me old friend?"

Quietly, yet respectfully Mistral began to take notes on all of
Asgore's orders and requests. There was quite a bit to take note
of, but it was nothing for the experienced skeleton. With each
stroke of his fountain pen, he carefully wrote all of his orders
       in clear detail.
"...Asgore, you can consider everything you've asked for done...
yet I before I read this back to you, I would like to express a
concern of mine." Mistral adjusted his scarf, looking towards
his king with his big empty sockets. Calmly, he tapped his
       parchment before speaking once more.
"However, out of respect for your majesty, I will not freely
express these opinions without your approval. Despite our
friendship I do not believe in using our relationship as a means
to influence you. However, as a friend I must admit it is very
       important to me."
These were indeed formalities, yet Mistral would have it no
other way. He had a responsibility to his King, and servitude
was his passion and purpose in this life.

Asgore greatly appreciated Mistral's attentiveness and quickness
with his notes so he was all ears when Mistral wanted to voice a
concern. "Come out with it my old friend. I'm listening." Asgore
told him with a firm nod in an attempt to urge him to say what
it was he needed to say. Whatever concern he may have had could
come with a solution he was certain, any necessary changes could
also be made. Asgore sat up a bit straighter, his kingly posture
in full affect at showing his authority but not in an
intimidating way. It was more to express how understanding he
       could be AS king.

Mistral nodded, calmly and respectfully. Adjusting his cuffs,
the skeleton would rest his wrists on the table and hold his
hands carefully, his fingertips touching each other with a
       refined grace.
       "Thank you sir."
With a click of his jaw, Mistral would look towards Asgore's
       eyes, examine them carefully.
"I feel you are going through more pain than you care to admit
Asgore. I feel you are surrounding yourself with people that
could potentially cause trouble. I'm aware I'm just a Caretaker,
but with a task such as that you become accustomed to
maintaining a constant analysis of people and the world around
you. I feel that you are taking more risks, and are more less
trying to associate with others but not thinking things through
       entirely."
"This may be bias speaking, but I feel Harbringer is not someone
you should be trusting with responsibility, at least with the
knowledge you have of him. I've analyzed what I could from the
interactions I have seen. It is not my place to meddle in your
affairs but I wish to offer my guidance. His demeanor is
unsavory and unpredictable. I feel you should consider that the
next time you speak with him."
"In regards to your secretary, I have not had the pleasure to
meet her, but I implore that you express caution. Do not be so
quick to trust those who wish to aid you. There are people out
there who wish to undo the work that you have accomplished."
".....Especially with that collection you have been gathering."

I began to chuckle in a most kingly way. My low baritone voice
rumbling from my throat in little spurts of chuckles. "I see,
you don't trust my judgement. There's no need to be alarmed
Mistral. You're not wrong about Harbinger, but I'd like you to
not doubt my secretary so much. She did not come to me seeking
to assist me. She merely obeyed an order I issued after our
first meeting. She was to come back and explain herself." I
cleared my throat to suppress a belch that attempted to rise
before I went to speak again.
"You see Mistral, Haruno herself is a good monster. She's one of
the odd ones that I of course have to keep an eye on but she has
a kind soul and the sweetest intentions. I've been a king for
years Mistral and I am no fool. I can tell when someone has good
intentions and when they don't." I closed my eyes as I rested my
furry chin on my even furrier hands. Hmm I don't think I brushed
my hand fur today...I needed to do that since it felt a bit
unruly, luckily it wasn't too noticeable. "Harbinger is a
ticking bomb waiting to go off. That much I'm aware of- all I
had to do was place my kingly influence on him. I may have
fabricated a few truths while him and I spoke but believe you me
I know what type of monster he is and that's not a good one. I
can tell the good from the bad that is one reason my father
handed me the throne before he passed away." I tilted my head to
the side with a kind grin. My fur brushed against my chin in a
ticklish manner that felt very pleasing.
"He will never harm his king that I am certain of...I also
cannot do anything further against him. You can't arrest someone
without proof of their misdeeds correct? I know how he is but I
have not seen it with my own eyes and I would need significant
proof to do anything further in that field so even as a concern
of mine I keep it in the back of my mind. He may cause problems
in the future but all of which can easily be taken care of. So I
do appreciate your concern old friend but there is no need. I am
on top of everything revolving those two. Now if things are as
you say then it is urgent you get the news to my secretary as
soon as possible yes? Harbinger as well but at different times.
I would not like them to be in the same room together...and
       which collection?"
