Mistral the Caretaker
By: Mistral Date: March 25, 2017, 4:51 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Name: Mistral
Species: Skeleton
Age: Unknown
Height: 6'2
Magic: Protection (Cannot fight, only shield others from danger)
Occupation: Royal Caretaker, Butler, Guardian
Residence: Castle
Appearance:
Mistral is a tall and bold skeleton, with hard features. He can
look rather intimidating, and it shows with his strict nature at
times.
He wears an all black tuxedo, with a white scarf. He can be seen
wearing a derby hat on walks.
Personality:
Love is often interpreted in many ways, it often can even stand
for something much darker these days. However, love in it's
purest form is the foundation for Mistral's soul. He is a
creature of guidance, care, and respect. The Royal Caretaker
views his job as a responsibility. He believes his purpose is to
be that of service to those who truly need him.
Mistral's moral values are incredibly important to him. The
skeleton will soundly offer his advice to those that request it
of him. He is a being of experience, wisdom, and honesty. With
little to no filter, Mistral's intentions are pure, yet honest.
He can often be interpreted as quite strict or even cold because
of this, but it all comes from quite a good place.
Mistral does his best to remain impartial, seeking the truth
above else and maintaining stable emotion. Yet, he acknowledges
bias and it's inevitability, but that does not stop him from
trying. He will share his thoughts as a means to supplement the
people he cares for, or those whom he wishes to correct.
Duties:
Mistral has been employed by the Royal Family for years, and
routinely completes tasks to serve the people he loves. These
include cooking (when Toriel allowed it), cleaning,
documentation, gardening (when Asgore allowed it), messaging,
and even diplomacy at times.
There was a time where was also a teacher and guardian to the
prince, yet he longer bears that responsibility due to
unfortunate events.
History:
"As long as I can remember, I've always found joy in watching
people become great. Even the bleakest of individuals have a
spark... such a beautiful spark that if nurtured, can erupt into
a radiant spectacle. I live for that. That is my purpose.
When the King and Queen had their first born, I was overjoyed
for their happiness. It was a time of miracles, and possibility.
Toriel and Asgore gave much love to their child, but whenever I
got the chance to spend time with young Asriel, it truly was a
blessing. The boy's radiance was something I never would have
foreseen. The culmination of the two I loved the most... I
couldn't truly describe how that made me feel.
I watched the boy grow, offering my guidance along the way, yet
I would always stand by and let his parents make the majority
of his parental decisions. Though whenever I was tasked to watch
over young Asriel, they granted me their permission to help with
his growth. I humbly accepted.
As Asriel grew, so did our bond. I was tasked to become his
personal tutor. This meant many hours or learning and
recreation. For the most part, Asriel was a bright pupil, yet he
was often distracted at times when it came to his passions. If
he wasn't entirely passionate about what I would teach him, I
made it a personal challenge to adjust his curriculum to help
broaden his horizons. How I cherished the time we spent. He must
certainly loved to learn. I loved answering his questions, and
he always listened. The boy... had so much potential. Yet,
because of his eagerness he was incredibly impressionable.
And I believe that was what destroyed him.
When they decided to adopt the human... Asriel changed. Perhaps
Toriel and Asgore did not notice, probably because they were
both spending equal energy raising the two. I had no qualms with
helping the young human, but...
I remember seeing Asriel cry more and more as time had passed.
It broke my heart. There was a time, I saw Asriel crying alone
while the human had gone to spend time with Toriel... he never
answered me when I asked what was wrong. I begged Asriel to
allow me to help him, but he only made me promise to never tell
his parents he was upset. As much as I regret it, I had to obey.
It was my purpose serve, I loved Asriel too much to break his
word.
And then... he was gone.
I don't know what the human had done to Asriel, but both of them
were dead. I could not cry, I had to be there for the people I
loved. I could only offer my services. Toriel and Asgore's
weeps... I cannot describe the torment it brewed inside of me. I
fulfilled Asriel's promise, and he was gone.
Even with the boy gone, I could not break his promise. I could
not tell Toriel and Asgore the truth, nor did I feel I had the
heart to. I watched everything fall apart shortly after, and
soon enough the queen was gone, and Asgore was alone. My duties
became harder, and the King became more desperate to free his
people. I loved them both, so while I sound spend my day's
caring for Asgore and the castle, I would spend my free time
searching for Toriel. I knew she was there, I just don't know
where...
All I can do is try to protect those that I love. I wish to
shield them from the darkness, and watch them grow into
magnificent people. Sometimes you succeed, but you can also
fail.
I'm sorry I couldn't protect all of you..."
