Some time later Alphys and Undyne had arrived back in Waterfall
- much to the guard's relief. After trudging through Hotlands,
and thankfully, she was still able to retrieve her armor where
she had earlier discarded them in a hurry to Alphys' lab
earlier. Seeing the cool pools of water was just too
irresistible and she suddenly said, "Hey Al, one sec."
The next moment she dove into the closet pool, sinking straight
to the bottom thanks to her armor. Undyne let out a long sigh of
relief as she left the cool body of water swirl about her; it
was utterly refreshing and something she really needed. A few
minutes afterwards, the warrior started to make her way back up
and out of the pool by marching towards the pool's bank.
She then cast Alphys her signature, broad-toothy grin though it
did falter a little when she looked up to see that the crevice
she had noticed in Hotlands was also in Waterfall; only much
wider. The barrier flashed on occasion, which Undyne took as a
sign of mocking and she scowled, "I wonder what happened to the
ceiling? Maybe Asgore knows something about it. Alphys, do you
know?" she muttered as they walked.

Soon enough they arrived at Undyne's house. The poor, mangled
piano was still smashed against a rocky wall in her front yard
and there was still a huge hole at the front of her house.
'I really need to get that fixed.' she thought to herself with a
sigh before opening the door anyway and waited for Alphys to
enter first before she too walked in.
She then headed straight for the her cupboard to pull out some
extra sheets and pillows before commenting to Alphys over her
shoulder, "Make yourself at home! You can stay in my room and
you're welcome to stay here for as long as you need to."
The fish lady could feel some colour rise at her cheeks and her
head disappeared into the cupboard again, pretending to reach
for something at the back of it, "I'll camp out here. No
problem!"
When she was ready, Undyne slammed the doors of the cupboard
shut by kicking it before walking over to the table-tops in the
kitchen and turned on the kettle. She could feel her heart
racing as she smiled again, "Can I get you anything? Oh and
thanks for fixing my fridge, it's done wonders!"

Alphys felt odd following Undyne into waterfall. Leaving the lab
behind was difficult, but necessary, though later she would need
to go back if it was safe enough. They had to be okay... they
were still monsters like her and Undyne after all. Plus she
would need to ensure that the lab didn't actually explode.
Though nobody would be likely to get hurt there was still a
chance of something bad happening...
The lizard was interrupted from her thinking when she heard
Undyne and saw her dive into the water. As Alphys watched her
sink a sense of panic overcame her before she remembered that
Undyne was naturally aquatic. She followed the fish's underwater
progress to the bank and waited for the warrior to emerge,
smiling in response to Undyne's own broad grin.
"I have n-no idea" was all Alphys could say in response to
Undyne's question. Never before had she felt the sunlight, and
it felt amazing on her scales. It was odd... when she was in the
sunlight she felt less lethargic and even slightly happier,
though she could tell that Undyne did not have the same
appreciation for the light that she did.

The sight of the pulverized piano made Alphys question what had
happened here earlier though it didn't seem to phase Undyne.
Perhaps she was the reason the instrument was in such a bad
state. It was a shame really: Alphys loved to hear her play the
piano. She stepped into the house and looked around. Aside from
the lack of a piano and the gaping hole in the house nothing
much had changed since her last visit.
Undyne's offer was really touching, but the reptilian monster
felt bad about kicking Undyne out of her own living quarters.
Undyne, I c-can sleep out h-here... you were k-k-kind enough to
let me stay here... it w-would be rude f-for me to take s-s-so
much from you after you let m-me shelter here". It felt rude for
her to just turn up and re-arrange everything in Undyne's life.
"Oh, I'm g-glad that it's working w-well for you. I'm okay for
n-now... thanks for offering th-though" Alphys replied.

With a wave of her hand Undyne made a dismissive noise, "Psh
it's nothing, really. Besides, if whoever messed up your lab
manages to find their way here I want to make sure that you're
not out in the open. At least, until I get someone to patch up
that hole for me." she replied whilst waiting for the kettle to
boil.
Upon reaching boiling point she threw some tea leaves into a tea
pot with more force than what was neccessary before swiftly
pouring the water in. With the free hand she opened up a nearby
cupboard to grab two teacups before finally taking all three
items over to the table. The teacups were slammed onto the
table, just loud enough to clatter but also, somehow, not crack
from the force. The fish warrior seemed pretty casual about it
and relatively calm though, perhaps it was because she felt like
she was in good company.
Undyne poured herself a cup and left the second one on the
table, just in case Alphys had changed her mind. She grinned
again, "So, I heard Mew Mew Kissy Cutie got a sequel recently.
How is it?"

"If you say so" Alphys replied. When Undyne was sure of
something it was best not to argue.
Alphys watched Undyne as she seemingly forcefully made herself a
cup of tea, yet with the calmness of someone who was sitting by
the seaside on a pleasant day. Wait... there was a cup there for
her too? Oh no, what if Undyne thought she just said no to be
polite? What if she was waiting expectantly for Alphys to have a
cup of tea? It was a silly thing to get worked up over, but the
last thing Alphys wanted was for Undyne to think of her as a
rude house guest. The decision was made for her to "change her
mind".
"Umm... on s-second thought I'll t-take you up on that offer"
she said with a small smile.
Alphys remembered the disks that Link had bought back for her,
among them being one labeled "Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2". Word sure
seemed to spread fast around here, especially when it came to
human things. That is, unless Undyne had seen it sitting on a
bench in her lab or something.
"I h-haven't watched it yet, b-but perhaps maybe we.... we could
w-watch it tonight?" Alphys inquired. She had bought it, along
with many other things, via the dimensional box. As though she
had to prove it she accessed the dimensional box through her
phone and produced the dvd.

Undyne had been watching Alphys carefully and she couldn't help
but feel like the scientist was nervous or worried about
something. The fish monster then leaned back on her chair,
kicking up her boots and crossing them onto the table before
resting her hands behind her head, "It's okay Alphys, you can
relax. I promise no one is going to hurt you while I'm around."
she commented, hoping to sound reassuring before glancing at the
huge hole in her wall. She flicked a wrist and several glowing
cyan spears shot up from the ground and stood along in a strong,
straight row as a new, very temporary wall, "Does that make you
feel a bit more comfortable? At least now no one will try to get
in that way without the risk of getting skewered." she chuckled,
"Listen, if there is anything that's bothering you, I just want
to let you know that you can always come to me about anything."
Undyne's eyes flicked away briefly. Normally she wouldn't delve
into this sort of thing nor did she honestly feel like she was
any good at talking about problems and offering advice and so
on. And yet, Undyne felt like she could make an exception for
Alphys; she wanted to be there for her if she needed someone to
lean on. She withheld a sigh, convincing herself that the odds
of that probably wouldn't happen before putting on a grin again,
"Heck yeah I wanna watch it! How great was the first one?!" she
exclaimed, while she may not like the anime anywhere near as
much as Alphys did, sharing something together was often better
than just surrounding oneself with only things they like.

Undyne fussing over her and reassuring her almost bought the
lizard monster to the verge of tears. How badly she wanted to
just tell Undyne everything, about the lab, about the failed
attempts at doing good. She truly wished that it was as simple
as just saying a few words, that Undyne would understand her
situation and her decisions she had made, but it just wasn't
that easy. Would she really have offered her a place to stay had
she known the things that were lurking in the lab, knowing how
bad she had made the lives of many monsters? Granted, most of
the things she did were in an attempt to do good, to help
people, that but didn't make them any better. Though there were
some things she had done for her own gain...
It was odd, in her eyes Undyne was so smart, strong and
beautiful yet also so horribly naive. Perhaps she did know
something, and that was why she was showing such kindness...
though perhaps not. The fish lady was so noble, honest and
brave, yet she had become friends with someone like Alphys. At
least when Undyne tried she did things that were good for
people. When Alphys tried it often turned out bad for others...
why were some people so good at doing things and others just
weren't? It was so tempting to just break down and tell Undyne
her whole life story but she knew that doing so would do no good
to anyone... though she knew Undyne would listen she would
probably be horrified by some of the confessions that were made,
and that could be the end of the best friendship Alphys had ever
had. A friendship that she hoped may one day blossom into
something more.
"It's alright... I'm okay.." Alphys reassured Undyne. She took
it upon herself to pour herself a cup of tea and take a sip.
Undyne showing her excitement for the anime made Alphys smile
genuinely. At least she could always count on Undyne.
"Y-yeah! I heard th-there is a lot of character d-d-development,
and I'm excited t-to see what awaits".

After looking at Alphys for a while in relative silence the fish
warrior finally nodding with a smile and got to her feet, "Good
to hear, 'cause I think I have something here I think you will
like..." she replied before trailing off as she headed for the
cupboard and buried her head and arms to reach for something in
side again.

Soon Alphys' phone would start ringing loudly. If she didn't
answer it right away a message would be left behind, but if she
did answer it the same thing would be heard. Sans' voice sounded
off, like he was sick and the usual nonchalant tone was lacking.
[font=comic sans ms][Heya Alphys. I hope you're not busy, and
I'd hate to be a bother - but uh, do you mind swinging by my
house ASAP? I'm in a room found at the back. Not actually in the
house. The door is unlocked. No need to knock. Feel free to just
come in. I'll be waiting.][/font]

Alphys watched Undyne fish around for whatever she was looking
for in the cupboard, only stopping when her phone began to sing
loudly in Japanese. Upon investigating she found that Sans was
calling. She gestured to Undyne that she was going to pick up
the phone though since she was half buried in the cupboard
Alphys doubted she would see.
Before she could speak in response the call had ended... or she
had been put on hold anyway.
"Umm... Undyne? I am n-needed somewhere... umm... maybe you can
sh-show me what you wanted to show wh-when I get back? Though
you could c-c-come... if you wanted to?" Alphys mumbled, her
fingers fumbling anxiously over the phone. Sans sounded
unwell... did he need serious assistance?

Undyne poked her head out from the cupboard to look at Alphys
with mild surprise; her hands were still in the cupboard and
wrapped around a medium-sized box of some kind.
"Sure, that's fine. Just be careful okay?" she replied, the
warrior did her best to hide that she was feeling disappointed
that Alphys had to leave so soon, but she also know she couldn't
keep the scientist cooped up here either. Undyne then fished a
set of keys from her pocket and tossed it over to Alphys, "Those
are my spare keys, just in case I may not be home when you get
back. I think I might stay here though, I'm waiting on some news
from Asgore and I want to be ready."
She then cast Alphys her signature, broad grin and waved, "But
see you soon and we can watch Mew Mew Two~"
