Re: Part II: It's gone??? (Flowey and Sprite)
By: Sprite Date: March 27, 2017, 11:45 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       "...Flowey...are you..ok?-
That high pitched laughter, the aura of the room, it suddenly
shifted. Sprite felt his senses flare, his soul spiking. For the
first time in his life, the puck was frozen.
An invasive torrent of fear rippled through Sprite as vines
burst from the ground and began to ensnare him. He felt his
breath escape from his very soul, primal senses urging to him to
break free and run. He could call for help....
But the puck knew better than anyone else.... that nobody would
       come.
As Flowey would pull him in close, the boys eyes were ripe with
tears as he stared into the nightmare inducing eyes of his "best
friend." He tried to to yell instinctively, yet his body
refused. Whether or not it was because of the vice grip the
flower had him in, or his soul simply forcing him to stay silent
out of fear itself was unknown. He felt his sneakers squeak
against the moist cavern floor as his legs squirmed...
       It had happened so fast.
He had lived on his own all these years, he knew how to survive
right? He was strong right? This was nothing...right?
Sprite trembled, his shoulders trying to hunch himself away from
Flowey's face, but it was pointless. He just wanted to run, he
couldn't handle this, he wanted to be safe.
The words from Flowey caused Sprite to wince, his breathing
escalating into his throat as he closed his eyes, the twisted
image searing into memory mercilessly. He couldn't bear to look
       at them....
       And yet.
Slowly Sprite's eyes opened as he finally made eye contact. He
felt tears still flowing down his cheek, but looking deeply into
       this monster's eyes...
....finally seeing the real Flowey for the first time....
....witnessing the power and helplessness he had felt from
       simply being in his presence....
....the offer of such a power to achieve your dreams....
       To become stronger.....
It filled the young man with.....
       .......
       .......
       .......
       .......
       Determination.
Sprite's breathing slowed. Faintly, the natural glisten in his
eyes began to dull as his mouth tightened, inhaling softly as
his body relaxed. He was no longer shaking.
       ....
Sprite calmly stared to his best friend...his mouth
twitching...as if it were beginning to smile.

       [shadow=orange,left]"Okay? Oh I am better than okay!"[/shadow]
the plant snickered. Flowey would be lying to himself if he
didn't enjoy watching Sprite squirm; the way he scrambled and
cried, how his soul pulsed frantically and how fear was oozing
from his sweat. The former prince's warped, sharp grin had grown
so wide that it almost threatened to split his face in half.
His head swiveled a few times as he encircled Sprite once; the
tips of his hardened petals scraped along the young puck's skin
gently as he continued to watch and provoke further torment and
       reaction.
'Oh this is all too fun~ He is just so interesting~' he thought
       to himself.
Soon after he paused, his tangled grin lessening slightly and
stretched into a new, curious one; until eventually he settled
on a more satisfied grin, [shadow=orange,left]"Oh... I know that
look. You truly understand don't you? Do you have any idea how
refreshing that is?"[/shadow] he commented as he set Sprite back
down; the thorns about his mouth clattered against each other as
he spoke,[shadow=orange, left] "I can teach you. How to be more
brutal. Less forgiving. How to find it all the more thrilling.
Embracing all of that is how you can grow stronger a lot
       quicker."[/shadow]
The large flower slithered away to the side, turning his head
slightly to look at Sprite as he spoke, [shadow=orange, left]"How
can I prove it? What if I told you that I could bend time to my
       will?"[/shadow]

"Do you have any idea how refreshing that is?"
       ........
       ........
       "....Yes."
The newly reborn Sprite had finally responded, his mouth still
barely grinning as he listened to the creature shatter the
facade that had seemed so well crafted, and carefully
       conditioned.
The bullets, the sunlight...helping others. Their little quest
to share sunlight with everyone. Sprite felt his grin widen as
he was being lowered and finally released from the vines.
A burst of harsh laughter escaped from Sprites chest as he
stared to the hole they had "worked so hard" to create. He
should have known better. That power Flowey had displayed after
just a small bask in the sunlight, it was inconceivable.
Sprite's laughter died as he listened to Flowey's offer to teach
him of his ways, how to obtain the strength he so longingly
       thirsted for.
"You we're going to kill us."
The puck rested his hands in his pockets. "I shouldn't have been
so surprised.... by who you really were. Maybe part of me knew
       something was off...."
       "But that power..."
Sprite felt his pupils constrict, his fists trembling, memories
of the machine gun "bullets" firing into the boulder, the raw
intimidation he felt as he was surrounded by hot death... It was
       consuming him with envy.
".....I realize now that that power is a huge reason why I
       waited for you....I want it."
       That last question however.
Sprite felt himself gasp, his eyes wide as he looked to the
Flower in disbelief, until he blinked. "I don't understand."
Never before had he heard of such power, but as he thought about
it, the mere existence of a power such as that could be the
exact reason why he wouldn't know. "If you can, how would I even
know without just accepting your word for it?"

Re: Part II: It's gone??? (Flowey and Sprite)
By: Flowey Date: March 29, 2017, 7:26 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Flowey bopped his head side-to-side as he listened to Sprite
laugh; though his mannerisms were very different. What the small
group of monsters whom had gotten to know him were accustomed to
seeing him bounce up and down and full of life when masquerading
his cheerful demeanor. Now, the movements dragged on from
side-to-side before jerking last minute when changing direction
       - reminiscent of a lost, wandering corpse.
The husk's mouth curled with amusement as he turned to look at
Sprite again,[shadow=orange, left] "Was I now? That all really
depends, you would have survived if you were strong.
Maybe."[/shadow] he almost-cooed with that dishevelled voice of
       his, [shadow=orange,left] "Maybe I was. Maybe I wasn't. That's
a part of the game. So many lies are spread from monsters. They
lie to themselves and to others to get ahead in life. The best
way to see whom someone truly is to corner them, fight or
flight. You'd be surprised who your friends truly are when they
have their lives on the line - and that they had to choose
between themselves and you. True you sought power, but even
after that you're still here too." [/shadow]
The flower paused to think over his words before continuing. As
he spoke, several roots uprooted from the ground in front of
Sprite, there was a gem tangled within them. Some vines around
his stem split and intertangled with the roots and gem before
growing red thorns from them. Minutes later a crown of thorns
was formed with the red gem as the centre piece.
[shadow=orange, left] "I can bend time to my will whenever I
please, as long as my life is at risk. When it's just right, not
only can I turn back the clock and return, but I can also Reset
the events and everyone's memories from when I start again. I
get a chance to do things differently." [/shadow] he explained
before glancing at him and pointed in the distance.
[shadow=orange, left] "I have seen it a hundred times before. In
just a moment you will see a white feline-canine monster in a
blue shirt frolick with a bubble blower in her mouth, she will
trip over a rock and yell out 'Owowowow! Boi that a hurts Tem!'.
She will then get up again, scratch her ear three times before
running off back where she came from." [/shadow]
Soon enough the events Flowey had just described happened mere
minutes later, he then gestured Sprite to newly formed crown of
thorns, [shadow=orange, left] "Soon, but not yet, you will be
able to see it for yourself if you wear this. Your memories
won't be Reset along with the rest of the world. You will see
what myself and... smiley trashbag time travellers get to...
but what I find interesting, Sprite, is that in this timeline
there are Anamolies. Monsters whom either haven't been here
before, or, are simply in a different place at a different time
to trigger new things to happen. You and the others from earlier
are Anamolies. Very, very interesting Anomolies. I am growing
more and more excited with each passing second, because
something new is happening. This is a new run for me. I'll no
       longer be bored." [/shadow]
He theb turned away to look at the sky again,
[shadow=orange, left] "Since we're the chummiest of pals, I
should be able to trust you to keep my true colours a secret for
me? I have a reputation after all. There's nothing more fun than
catching someone off-guard... that being said, if you happen to
run across any monsters whom you think have the same potential
as us, being them back here so we can all be friends. Just
make sure it's not too many... no more than one would be ideal."
       [/shadow]

Re: Part II: It's gone??? (Flowey and Sprite)
By: Sprite Date: March 30, 2017, 2:16 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
A game? So that was how he saw things. This caused Sprite to
frown a bit. "I...I see." He would let that sink in for a bit.
He reflected deeply on what Flowey had told him, people
revealing their true selves only when forced to, lying to get
what they needed and disposing of you when they're finished. He
felt himself choke with anger, his soul burning with a strong
passion. If there was one thing he valued, it was his Integrity.
Morally, his choices would be considered wrong, but Sprite had
not recalled lying to anybody or using anyone. Why did people
       have to be dishonest?
Yet, as Flowey had described the events to Sprite, detail by
detail they unfolded. He found himself leaning forward in
disbelief in the direction of the Temmie, his nostrils flaring
in response to the reality that had just been unveiled to him.
With a slight shake of his head, the puck looked back to Flowey,
the unmistakable gaze of acceptance slathered on his face.
       "I'll no longer be bored."
Sprite carefully looked to crown, then back to Flowey. His
request to keep his identity a secret, it was something that
Sprite knew deep down was important to the flower. "Everything
you've shown me, your power, this crown, it's incredible.
But....this isn't a game to me." The puck finally admitted.
"Maybe it is to you, but like you said, things are different
now." He shifted a bit. "I won't tell anyone. But please promise
me that you will be real with me. You were holding yourself back
all this time, and even after everything, you're still the only
one that understands me... I really do want to be your friend."
Sprite sighed. "I don't just want power, I want to have someone
that I can trust. I don't want to be alone anymore Flowey. I'll
get stronger... I'll kill... I'll do everything I can. If I find
someone like us, I'll help them...Just... please don't lie to
me, no more games. Were in this, together, right?"
He reached to the crown, its thorns stinging his skin slightly
as he held it carefully, looking back to Flowey one more time.
"I know you're offering so much...I just don't want to hurt
       anymore....please."
Something caught the puck's eye, a moldsmal, crawling in the
distance. Instinctively, a burst of magic exploded from his
palm, the moldsmal instantly consumed in the sub zero energies.
It didn't even have time to writhe as the sheer intensity of the
freezing temperatures collapsed its body into pieces. He stared
to it's remains before finally looking back Flowey's way.
       "...."

Re: Part II: It's gone??? (Flowey and Sprite)
By: Flowey Date: March 30, 2017, 7:43 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Flowey puffed out his stem slightly with pride for the praise
was well met. Though a curious eye ridge was raised as he
listened in relative silence before he swiveled around Sprite to
get closer to him again; a vine was placed under the puck's chin
to bring his gaze to look back into one of the plant's. Flowey's
expression was void of any empathy, but there was something
there, [shadow=orange, left]"Oh Sprite, don't you see? We are
friends. That's why I am trusting you to keep my secret - our
little secret..."[/shadow] he replied simply in a similar tone
from before - mostly out of habit.
Though, Flowey's grin lessened as he found himself pausing
again. Taking things into consideration. The vine raised from
earlier lowered and coiled itself around his stem again and he
looked to the ground as let out a heavy sigh. A scowl even began
to form at his features the more thoughts which had flooded his
mind. If he was completely honest with himself, a lot of what
Sprite said had struck a chord with him. The puck reminded him
of what he himself would say, had once felt back when he used to
feel anything... how he yearned to be reunited with someone he
       once knew long ago...
[shadow=orange, left]"Fine. I'll be genuine with you. But only
you. Putting on the whole [color=yellow]'Golly I'm such a
happy-go-lucky fella' thing is a strain
anyway."[/color][/shadow] he finally spoke up and then looked
back him again, [shadow=orange, left]"Trust me, for as long as I
am alive, you won't ever be alone."[/shadow]
His mood however, suddenly picked up again when he watched the
nearby Moldsmal murdered out of cold blood and the flower was
       couldn't resist a cackle, [shadow=orange,left]"That was pretty
funny! The stupid thing didn't see it coming. Wasn't that
exciting? You have the power to dictate what happens to another,
to decide when and how they should die. When you do that, it's
proof that you're stronger than what they are. Moldsmals are a
good start; baby steps. You'll get there, and I'll be right
there with you along the way."[/shadow]

With his free hand still outstretched, cool magical residue
wafted calmly from his palm. He felt something. Something inside
of him, growing stronger. He lowered his arm slowly, the thrill
of the kill still lingering in his mind. That moldsmal was much
easier to kill than he thought...
He then looked to the crown in his other hand, examining it once
more. "Baby steps..." he whispered, echoing Flowey. Gently he
lowered the crown to his head, the red crystal glimmering in the
Kottke light they had. He felt his eyes close as he rested it
firmly on top of his skull. There was no going back, only
       forward... to become stronger.
The puck would slowly raise his hood, hiding the crown and
casting a shadow over his eyes.
       "You won't ever be alone..."
"Thank you Flowey.... for everything. I'm glad I am your
       friend...."
Sprite's instantly locked towards a group of moldsmal, running
       towards the corner.
"....There's still some of them left... I want to finish what I
started." Without hesitation, a long blade of ice formed around
his right hand, its formation unleashing a loud screech that
       echoed across the cavern.
He began to walk towards the helpless gelatin.
