Part II: Insomniac Days

((Please do not post in this thread until you have had your
character exit any Part One threads they may still be in. Thank
you.))
---
Two days had passed since Meka and Sakura crossed paths with the
body-splitting werebeast, Flowey and a small group of heros
cracking open the rocky ceiling and Lady Trinity's meeting with
the scientists.
In the past two days it hadn't snowed very much in Snowdin
either, maybe it was because of the rise in temperature in the
Underground and the massive fissure cutting across the rocky
ceiling that had stretched all the way from Waterfall had
something to do with it. Either way, it certainly wasn't as cold
as the local residents had grown used to. Speaking of locals, a
short skeleton with his bony hands buried deep into his pockets
and his hood over his skull had just stepped out of the front
door of his house. The door locked behind him in unison with his
exhausted sigh as he sluggishly made his way over to Grillby's.
Sans raised an eye ridge when he noticed that the snow was
'sloshier' than usual, feeling his feet sink into it a lot
easier and his fluffy pink slippers getting wet a lot easier
from what he remembered.
Soon the Sentry tiredly pushed open the door to Grillby's, he
kept his head low as he was deep in thought. It had been
well-past Monday, the day he had promised to pay Grillby back
for all the money he owed. May as well be straight him, for once
- and among other things. He slowly made his way to his usual
spot at the bar and it didn't take long for the somewhat
noticeable rise in temperature to start to bother him; something
odd, since he is a skeleton. Sans then shrugged his blue jacket
off and rested it on his lap, leaving him in just a white
T-shirt, black shorts and pink slippers on as he rested his
skull in an open palm and elbow at the counter.
Here in the better lighting of the establishment, those who knew
Sans could tell right away that there was something off about
him. His bones which usually had a healthy off-white tone was
now a dull pale grey, the lights in his eye sockets were not as
bright as they usually were and he was sweating more than usual.
His grin seemed forced today as the lights in his eye sockets
drifted over to the empty ketchup bottle at the counter.
Damn. He had cravings, but a deal was a deal.
((Hint: This thread provides an opportunity for characters to
come together, possibly make new friends and possibly mention
the unusual happenings they have encountered two days ago. Use
this thread well. ;) ))

It had been two days since the events in the forest of snowdin
and Sakura's mind still lingered on the child and that werebeast
from before. Her eyes were still cold as ever...was it due to
lack of sleep or maybe she just became bitter over the past two
days. At any rate, she had a lot on her mind. She had hardly
noticed the weather change due to her fur but the snow
felt...soft today. Taking a small glance up, the sunlight could
be seen a little bit. that was odd. It never shined that
brightly around snowdin. At any rate, the kitsune was hungry as
her stomach growled a bit.
Lucky for her, she just so happened to end up in Grillby's. Her
taiils swayed a bit before she opened the door and looked
around. She saw an open spot by the bar area and took a seat.
She took a side glance at her neighbor and blinked in surprise.
" Sans?...Huh..fancy running into you of all people. " she
replied before placing an order to get something to eat.

Meka wasn't one for going places that tended to have a lot
people, but today was an exception. She was in a lot of mental
pain and rumors told her that Grillbys bar sold a "magical
elixir " that could take her mind off the current situation.
Though at first she had loved the warmth that had taken over
Snowdin it had become an annoyance and she now wore a blue
singlet and jean shorts with a special slot for her tail to go
through. The goat girl walked up to the bar and placed a fairly
decent sized bag of G on its surface. The unusually scruffy teen
produced a forced smile before saying "Food and drinks, on me ".
She had noticed the kitsune from the other day as well as a
hooded skeleton, both of which she acknowledged with a tired
wave. Sleep had evaded her since she had rescued the lamb child
and it was obvious to anyone who saw her that she was tired.
Likewise she noticed they seemed tired.

"W-What's with this heat?!"
Luka complained as he stepped out of the inn. The young man
looked up to the glinting sunlight in the distance. The sight of
the fissure made his heart skip a beat however as it seemed
almost wider than it was the day before or the day of his
'sidequest.' The hole they created couldn't have really caused
this much of a crack could it? After all, they were just trying
to bring more light in the underground...Right? Still, seeing
the normally happy folks of Snowdin walk about with sluggish
steps as they trudged through the slurry of melted ice gave him
a bad feeling.
"G͠o,̧ ̸Brąve ͞hero. Mak̕e͏
̛a níc͟e stew ͜óùt͢
͝óf̷ t͜h̸ós͘e
̧r̀as̸c̷àl҉ly̸
̵r̀a̷b̸b͢it
mon̴s̛t̷ers͘.͠"
He shrugged it off however, and moved toward the only suitable
place he knew of to get a bite to eat.
"..."
The lilac haired hero would peek into the always toasty bar and
look about at the (unusual) patrons that had been gathered. His
gaze settled, of course, on the swishing tails of the kitsune
girl sitting at the bar. The young man blinked a few times,
resisting the urge to come up and ask if he could touch one of
her impossibly fluffy tails. He shook it off however as he
stepped into the bar fully and approached the girl.
With a smile and a wave the young man would greet her. "Hey
there! You...Uh...You wouldn't happen to be one of Tamamo's
followers by any chance would you? I've been stuck here for
about a week now and I..." He paused glancing aside to her
companion. His gaze met the skeletons dimly glowing eyes and a
hiss of a memory tickled the back of his ear.
"Don't trust any walking skeletons."
He cleared his throat, deciding it best not to disclose his
origin all of a sudden as he looked back to the girl. "...Sorry,
that's not important. Do you have any idea who I'm talking
about?" He asked raising a brow. "N-not that I'm assuming all
Kitsunes know each other it's just she's real important and one
of the monster lords heavenl-Er yeah she's real important." He
interrupted himself with a cough, cutting a nervous glance to
the hooded skeleton to try and gauge a reaction (with mixed
results.)
"I mean considering you have nine tails you must be real
important yourself..." He observed nervously scratching the back
of his neck.

Sakura starred at Sans for a moment before the sound of a bag of
money hit the table slightly and a familar voice was heard.
Sakura turned to see Meka just as tired as she and Sans were.
Was everyone having a tough time sleeping? With a returned wave,
she tried to put on a smile herself. She appreciated Meka paying
for everyone even if she had her own money at the time. Hey best
not to turn down a free meal right?
Then her ears stood up as a new voice came out of nowhere as a
young boy stepped up to Sakura and started asking her questions.
She starred at the boy with lazy eyes and a small confused
expression. Shaking her head a bit as her tails swayed again
this time brushing by the boy, she addressed him as politely as
possible.
" Look kid i haven't eaten, I'm still trying to wake up, and to
top it all off....you came in asking questions before
introducing yourself. Is it human customs to be rude to those
you greet.....specifically if they're female? " she replied
crossing her arms a bit. " Let's try this again....hello I'm
Sakura and you are...? " she asked the boy.

Luka blushed a bit as the girl brushed him with her tails
causing him to back up. He held up his hands and waved them in a
defensive manner as she came at him with all the snarling ire of
someone who refused to be a morning person. It reminded him of
Alice in a way. She was often cranky early on in the day too.
The sheepish hero sweat a bit, his blush fading as he tried to
babble incoherently in response to her sharp tone.
"I-I'm sorry m'aam!" His voice shook. "Sakura m'aam." He cleared
his throat as he corrected himself, finding himself flushing
even harder as he fumbled with his words.
EVENTUALLY the young man would outstretch his arm in an almost
robotic fashion. He was so stiff that it made each of his
movements seem jerky and erratic.
"I-I'm Luka. I'm a hero!" He blurted out, not really thinking as
he internally squirmed under the gaze of a cute girl. "Do you
know Tamamo...Sakura?" He tried asking again. His form trembling
once, betraying his attempt to hide his nervousness.

Sakura tiltd her head a bit as Luka became so confused and
baffled that it left her a bit baffled. " Humans are a strange
race indeed..." she thought to herself giving a small smirk of
amusement at how the boy was behaving. When he mentioned his
name and what he was though something inside Sakura changed
suddenly. Her eyes went wide as she saw the kid again from two
days ago. He viewed her as a hero and she let him down.
Sakura bared her fangs a bit as she snarled a little. It was
then she eased up when she felt her nails dig into her own skin.
The look she was giving to Luka made it seem like she was
towering over the boy with her dark gaze before shaking her head
a bit. " No....it's not his fault...it's mine and mine alone..."
she thought to herself before exhaling that held in breath.
" No sorry...the name sounds familar but i can't be certain...my
apologies for the snarl. " she replied to the boy as she bowed a
bit.

Luka stopped, seeing the conflict in the girls eyes as she
looked upon him. It was enough to give him pause. The young man
looked to the girl and returned the bow, giving her the respect
he felt a nine tailed kitsune deserved. "It's alright... I was a
little excited at the thought of seeing a friendly face that I
acted brashly." He spoke, his tone softening as he met his gaze
with hers so he could give her a genuinely sweet smile.
"Though given your snarl I kind of wonder if you are on the best
terms with her. Even if not, I hope we can be friends at least!"
He chuckled before taking her hand into his and giving it a
shake. "My dream of coexistence would be pretty silly if I
didn't find a way to get along with everyone." He forced another
chuckle as he scratched the back of his neck.
"I'm sorry for intruding though. Can I make it up by buying you
a drink?"

Sakura raised her head as Luka bowed to her. To be honest she
never had anyone do that to her before. Then again, she was a
traveling kitsune with no real status...at least she assumed so.
Luka on the other hand seemed to believe so. Was this kitsune
lord he was mentioning before have that level of power. Taking
the boy's hand, she gave off a small blush of her own this time
as she broke his gaze a bit.
" He is kind of cute....even if he is a human...err" she blanked
real fast as she realized she spoke out loud that time. Quickly
shaking her head of any thoughts that were starting to surface,
the kitsune buried her face with one tail as to facepalm before
her stomach growled in defiance. This time she laughed a bit on
the odd side. " Sure as long as you don't mind feeding me too
hehe.." she replied with a smile of her own.

Re: Part II: Insomniac Days
By: Sans Date: March 20, 2017, 7:09 am
---------------------------------------------------------
The shadows which formed beneath the skeleton's eye sockets were
dark and hardened; as if suggesting he had bags beneath his eyes
as he turned to the first monster whom addressed him. he then
chuckled softly, "Yeah, you're Sakura right?
Hey." he replied casually, "Whelp. I
do come here quite often so, I guess it shouldn't really be that
surprising."
When he heard Meka speak up, as tempting as it was - like REALLY
tempting Sans shook his head politely at her offer, [font=comic
sans ms]"Thanks but no thanks. I'm not hungry." he lied,
trying to dance around the issue that he is currently banned
from consuming anything here until he paid Grillby back. He then
took a moment to look at the pair, both of them - like he was -
looked exhausted. He then turned to face the wall behind the
bar, which was in front of them.
"Not getting much sleep huh?" he
asked suddenly before continuing in an oddly foreboding tone,
"Yeah, neither have I. For some reason I
haven't even been able to sleep or even nap a single wink ever
since two days ago. I've already lost thirty-six hours of rest.
If I'm honest, it's kind of driving me nuts. I've also heard
about what's been happening around here lately too. Strange
coincidence. Something weird is happening."
The skeleton then grabbed a ketchup bottle and slid it across
the bar until it stopped somewhere between Meka and Sakura
before changing his tone to that of a more upbeat, yet also
relaxed tone, "But hey, whatever you order
here I highly recommend you pouring some of that stuff over it.
It always tastes better. Gives your taste buds a chance to
'ketchup' to the flavors yanno? Hehehehe."
When Luka approached them and overhearing Sakura mention human
more than once, Sans suddenly sat unnaturally still. As though
he had been frozen into place. The only signs of movement coming
from him were the dimly lit eye sockets and the soft rattles and
snapping sounds of bones beneath his shirt. Those whom were
observant would notice a number of heads of bones were slowly
starting to surface from the ground behind Luka, the wall
closest to him and from the ceiling directly above him. Noticing
the nervous glance didn't really help Luka's situation either.
This could all probably end very quickly, or, very badly. Right
here and now.
There were no promises to stop him.
There was a noticeable pause before the bones from all around
had fully surfaced; leaving them only half-way formed before the
skeleton sighed.
'I really don't feel like doing this. Not
today.' he thought to himself as he looked on over at
Luka again and the bones he had summoned disappeared suddenly.
he then slipped off of his stool, leaving his jacket on it as he
stepped closer to Luka; looking up at him. He then held out a
bony hand, "Hey. I'm Sans. Sans the
Skeleton." he introduced like he always did with his
signature grin. He tilted his skull a bit to have a better look
at Luka, the lights disappearing completely from their eye
sockets, "Human, huh? Here in Snowdin?
'Snow' kidding. But, uh, buddy, mind clearing up something for
me? Are you really a human, cause something seems a bit off from
that."
