Author's Note: The Hellfire stable took quite a few shots at RSI
in the latest edition of TKO magazine, after the Lingerie event.
I'll be god-damned if I'm gonna let that stand. :P

The Irish Temper
October 22, 2014
The women of RSI have proven to be quite popular since the
recent Lingerie Invitational event. We had a lot of success
there, where seven of the 16 finalists were RSI athletes, with
three of them bringing home the hardware. As fun as it was, we
all knew that sport of MMA was a brutal business. Today's
outstanding success could easily give way to tomorrow's
heartbreak. So, we were living it up while we had the chance.
To that end, I was currently finishing up an exclusive interview
with Molly Qerim from Fuel TV. RSI was suddenly the hot topic
in the UMMA, and Molly was doing background on a piece about how
far we've come in our nearly two years of operation. We were
close to done, having just completed a tour of the RSI facility.
It had been a good interview, and I had maintained my usual,
smile-for-the-camera public persona throughout. As we arrived
back in the lobby, Molly had a couple of follow-up questions
about the PPV event. And that's when the real Richelle came out
for a visit.
Qerim: "Winning three titles at this last event was quite an
accomplishment. You must be proud of that."
"I am, but I'm always proud of our fighters. I don't judge them
solely on what titles they've won. The level of competition in
the UMMA is at an all-time high. Winning titles, especially in
the PPV tournaments, is a monumental task. I'm pleased with the
effort we're getting from all of our fighters, each and every
day. But, yes... Aly, Britney and Tiffany have overcome a lot
to get where they are. These titles are the reward for the work
they've put in, and I'm very excited for them."
Qerim: "The Hellfire stable had a lot to say about your fighters
after the event. Do you have any response?"
"First of all, let me congratulate Ali Larter on her title win.
The lightweight division has a lot of superb athletes, and Ali
did not have an easy road to the championship. She beat quite a
few elite athletes to win, some of them very convincingly. It
was an outstanding performance, and I think Mr. X did a fine job
of paying her the respect she deserves."
"As for what they had to say afterward, I don't blame the
Hellfire group for being p*ssed off. They had a bad night, and
they suffered some tough injuries. We have quite a few women on
the shelf ourselves, so I understand how that can be. And, I
know that emotions are running high right after an event. They
were angry and disappointed. RSI had a very successful event,
and much of that success came at Hellfire's expense. So they
took their anger out on us. I get it. I don't even care about
Travis calling us out. I think he knows that RSI is not really
the cause of his troubles, but he's trying to motivate his
group. If he thinks this is the way to do it, fine... have at
it. It makes no difference to me."
"But, I don't care how angry you are, there are some things you
don't say. And Karen Gillan said just about all of them."
At that point, I snatched the microphone from Molly and glared
angrily into the camera, speaking as if Gillan were standing
right in front of me.
"Listen closely, Karen, because I'm not going to say this twice.
You can call my girls whatever names you want. I saw you gave
the title of 'f*cking b*tch' to both Jen Stano and Britney
Spears. That's fine. In fact, Britney asked me to thank you
for the compliment. But, I will not stand for accusations of
cheating, backhanded or otherwise. RSI has built it's success
on the blood, sweat and tears of its athletes. Our women earn
everything they get through hard work and dedication. They have
suffered the heartache of failure that comes before the joy of
success. I will not have you, or anyone, try to take that
success away from them with false, unfounded and wild-ass
accusations."
"On top of that, I am particularly offended that you would claim
that any RSI athlete would deliberately try to injure an
opponent. MMA is a tough sport, and injuries are all too
common. Every athlete knows the danger, and we have all seen
the havoc an injury can wreak on a fighter's career. We have
had several of our fighters injured at key moments, including in
this tournament. Ashley Tisdale has been steadily moving up the
ESL standings. Now, she's walking around wearing a special vest
to protect her broken ribs, unable to even train. Sabine
Jemeljanova fought her ass off in this tournament, coming all
the way from the bottom of the bracket to reach the final. Her
reward was a broken face that's going to keep her out of action
for quite a while. Aside from the physical pain and the torture
of rehab, injuries cause fighters to lose momentum and, in some
cases, title shots. Those are opportunities that may never come
again. It sucks, all the way around."
"Make no mistake... the women of RSI fight to win. But they'll
take a clean knockout or submission victory over an injury any
time. No one wants to win by injury. No one."
"Oh, but where are my manners? Allow me to put this in terms
you might better understand."
"Yer blatherin' oyt yisser arse, lass. Yer wud chucker well ter
ara be whist."
"You see, Karen, I may be just a simple girl from Jersey, but my
roots trace back to the town of Athenry in the County Galway.
And you Scots should know quite well how we Irish can get,
especially when we're p*ssed off. So, let me offer you some
advice, one redheaded lass to another: cut the sh*t. Because
the road to my girls goes through me, and that road is closed.
You're a good fighter, Karen. You've had a lot of success, and
I'm sure you want to focus on doing what it takes to have more.
So, do yourself a favor: keep training and stop talking...
before I shove a potato so far up your nose, it comes out your
arse."
I smiled broadly and handed the microphone back to Qerim.
"I think we're done," I said. "Thanks for coming out, Molly.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product."
I left her there, dumbfounded, as I spun on my heel and headed
for my office. It probably would have been and impressive exit,
had I not run directly into Danni Harris, who was apparently
standing behind me the entire time. Our bodies met with a thud,
and I lifted my head to look her in the eye. She stood with her
arms crossed, making no effort to get out of my way.
Interesting fact about Danni... I don't scare her, at all.
That's not to say the others cower in fear when I walk through a
room. But, my temper is pretty well known, and most members of
the RSI family will give me my space when I'm angry. Only Danni
will go nose-to-nose with me, no matter what. It's one of the
things I've come to respect most about her. After I calm down,
that is.
Not wanting to talk in front of the media, I motioned Danni
toward my office. "If you have something to say, then follow
me."
She slid aside coolly, and I marched away to my office as Danni
fell in step behind. I took a seat behind my desk, as she
gently pushed the door closed. She turned, refolded her arms
and silently smiled at me.
"What?" I said curtly, my blood still boiling.
Her smile widened. "I just... wanted to see if you were OK."
I'm pretty sure I heard her snicker.
"Are you laughing at me?" I asked. "It's not funny, Danni.
It's not f*cking funny, at all."
"Uh... I believe I heard you say 'blatherin' and 'arse'," she
said. "That's pretty god-damn funny."
I glared at her, fighting to stay angry. But my eyes betrayed
me, and I could see Danni knew she had me. Next thing I knew,
the two of us were laughing out loud together.
"Were you speaking a foreign language?" she asked with a snort.
"Karen will understand," I said.
"I hope so," she said. "Because nobody else is going to have a
f*cking clue."
"You don't think I made myself clear?"
"Oh, you did fine," she answered, as her laughter turned
hysterical. "That 'redhead-to-redhead' thing is going to go
over big."
I rolled my eyes, but I still couldn't stop laughing.
"But the best part..." She was laughing so hard, she had to
stop to take in a breath. "... was 'that road is closed.'"
She laughed so hard she stumbled and almost fell over, and I
laughed harder because of her.
"Who knew..." She was forced to stop again. "Who knew you were
such a f*cking bad-ass?"
I picked up a piece of paper, crumpled it and threw it at her.
She batted it away as she fell into my guest chair. She fell so
hard, the chair moved. She had to make a panicked grab just to
keep it from toppling over.
And, of course, that only made us both laugh even harder. I
could barely breath and tears were streaming down my face. I
doubled over, my forehead touching down on the desk. Danni was
paralyzed with laughter, still clutching the chair just the way
she'd landed in it.
We pulled ourselves together after a few moments, mostly because
we were light-headed from the lack of oxygen. Danni got herself
squared away, and sat up in the chair.
"You think I embarrassed myself?" I asked.
Her face wrinkled in disbelief. "Since when do you give a
sh*t?"
I shrugged. "True."
"I think the girls are going to throw you a party when they see
that interview, though," she said.
I shrugged again. "They did the hard part. Least I can do is
watch their back for them."
She nodded. "Yeah, that's you, alright," she said.
I shook my head, but said nothing. I was done with the topic,
and Danni seemed to sense it.
"You talk to Ashley, yet?" she asked.
"She's coming by tomorrow morning," I answered.
"Do you think she'll do it?"
"Geez, I hope so," I replied. "We don't have anyone else who's
ready to lead a team."
She nodded.
"Well," she said as she pushed herself out of the chair, "I
better get back to work."
She was just about out the door when she said, "After all... I
don't want to fall behind and end up getting a potato up my
nose."
I didn't even get the chance to react before she was gone.
"GO F*CK YOURSELF, HARRIS!" I called after her.
That Danni. What a b*tch.

Haha, that's a temper alright. :D Good one Richelle, can't take
that shit lying down. And I do hope Gillan gets that, 'cause you
lost me at potato. Well said on the rest of the parts in English
I understood. :P
Congrats to the girls on those titles! And all the best on those
injuries. Poor Sabine. :-[
Great piece! :)
