Suzuka Ishikawa was sitting in the locker room waiting for the
press conference to begin that she thought would seal her fate
with the Awesome Aries team. She had been told that Management
wanted to see her after the press conference and she just knew
that the team was going to let her go. She was about to get up
when she heard the locker room door open and in walked Utada
Hikaru. Suzuka asked her what she was doing there and Utada
responded that she had the right to be there. Utada went to her
locker and was in the process of cleaning out her locker when
Suzuka asked her again what she was doing.
Utada: Look Suzuka you know what I am doing here. Im gone, A
group of us are fed up with the way this stable is heading and
we have decided to get out while the getting is good. Besides,
this stable is not big enough to contain what was about to
happen.
Suzuka: What does that mean.
Utada: You know what I am talking about. There has been a lot
of talk around this stable about expectations and especially you
and me. We both know that since we are referees as well as
fighters they are expecting a lot more from us and I personally
have had enough of that.
Suzuka: Well I look to it as a challenge. I try to catch
things that some of the other fighters are using to gain an
advantage in matches but you can't see everything and though I
have made some mistakes as a referee, I can look at film and see
what they are doing later and can watch for it the next time I
referee one of their matches.
Utada: That is how I look at it but that is not all. Some of
these people talking seem to think that we should be better
fighters and I dont appreciate some of the comments that I have
heard.
Suzuka: I don't listen to all of that.
Utada: Well you should because they are all saying that you are
better than me. We both know that is not true. I am twice the
referee and fighter as you. You know it and I know it.
Suzuka: You really think so huh. maybe its the other way
around, maybe those comments were right, Maybe I am better than
you .
The bickering between the two continues for a minute or two
until suddenly Utada attacks Suzuka and the two Japanese girls
start fighting wildly. Wild punches and slaps fly for several
long seconds before Suzuka slips and falls to her backside.
Utada stands over her and warns her not to get up and when she
starts to get up, Utada kicks her viciously in the ribs and then
stomps her three or four times before help arrives in the form
of Reon Kadena and Chrissie Chau. They pull Utada away from
Suzuka and push her towards the exit but Utada stops long enough
to pick up her belongings and walks away yelling at Suzuka that
this was not over. Reon and Chrissie get Utada moved out of the
room and help Suzuka pick herself up and clean up. A few
minutes later Suzuka joined the rest of her team as the press
conference was about to begin. She looked around to see not
just her teammates but some news reporters as well.
Management: Thanks everyone for joining us here, for this sad
moment but we are going to move ahead with what we have to do.
As most of you know, this stable has been through a lot the last
few months. We have had a couple of incidents that set off some
investigations to search for the individuals involved and as of
this date we are now through with those investigations. We are
not going to mention any names, those individuals have been
talked to and we have settled the whole situation as finished
business. The sad part of this is that due to some actions that
had to happen, several of our team members have asked to be
released from their contracts. after the dust has settled we
have dropped 13 girls from the stable roster and we think that
our remaining members are now ready to move forward. The stable
will be led by our new team leader Harumi Nemoto who is a very
sharp leader and we have every confidence in her abilities. Our
smaller stable is now ready to move forward and each member has
been talked to to get their feedback and we are all in agreement
that things are going to get better for our stable.
Nancy O'Dell: Can i interject a question at this point. Rumors
have it that the girls involved in what has happened have joined
together to form a new stable led by your former stable leader
Jennifer Love Hewitt. Is that true and if so has is that going
to affect the Aries stable.
Management: Yeah that is all true, but that should have no
effect on our day to day operations here at Aries stables. I
know that Jennifer will do a great job of leading the way for
her new stable and we understand that she has added some talent
to that stable other than the girls we lost. This will not
affect our stable. We will treat that stable just as we do any
other stable and their fighters. We have nothing against any of
those girls but we are not going to back down from any
challenges from them or any other stable. In the end what we
have here at Awesome Aries is a team that is going to get better
and we are not going to allow anything to bring us down. If
there is no other questions we hope that all of your concerns
have been answered and if not we are open door here to answer
any questions that you might have later on but rest assured,
This stable is very solid and though we have lost some talent,
our remaining talent is very capable and experienced to move
forward as we strive to become the best team here in the UMMA.
With no other questions, the press conference breaks up and
everyone goes there seperate way. Management takes his leaders
into his office.
Management: Okay we are through with all of this old business
and its now time to move forward. We all know what we have to
do and I have all the faith in you my leaders of this stable.
We need everyone on the same page from here on out. If anything
out of the ordinary appears we need to deal with that as quickly
as possible. We have a lot of talent here but I still see a lot
of room for improvement. I expect my leaders here to step up and
solidify this team. I am always here to help but you 4 are
responsible for keeping order and keeping everyone on the same
page. If you dont think you can handle that then I will
understand but I have faith in each of you that you will not let
me down. Is there anything else that needs to be taken care of
before I meet with Suzuka Ishikawa.
Michelle, Taylor, Katharine and Harumi all acknowledge that all
is good and they leave. Management then asks Suzuka to come on
inside and closed the door behind them.
Management: Suzuka I have asked you in here to talk with you
about what is going. Before I do that I need to ask how you are
doing.
Suzuka: Im good, We have had a tough few weeks and I have felt
a lot of uneasiness inside the cage with our fighters when I get
the opportunity to referee one of our teams matches. I have
always tried to be fair in how I address each match but as a
referee you can't catch everything that happens and sometimes I
have a hard time with that. I always try my best and I try to
get better on catching things when I am the referee.
Management: I applaud you for that and I know that you are
working hard. Now I need you to get better inside the cage as a
competitor. When I brought you into this stable I saw a lot of
talent and I know that you have a lot going on. Now is your
time to tell me how you feel. Do you feel like you can do this.
You can be a superstar if you put your mind to it. I see the
talent and I know you can do it. Its all on your table now. I
need some committment from you to work even harder. Can you do
that for me.
Suzuka: I think I can do that, I thought that you were
bringing me in here to let me go. I came in here expecting to
fight for my contract. I can do that and I will give you my
promise that I will give you my best. Thank you for giving me a
chance.
Management: Really why would you get that Idea that I would let
you go.
Suzuka: Im sorry, I was seeing what was going on and I was
getting nervous. We lost a lot of talented girls and I know
that my record is not very impressive so I was expecting to get
my walking papers.
Management: I would not ever do that, I think that I am fair
and as long as you give me your best every night, I will back
you and give you my every confidence. I really like what we
have here and I know that each and every one of you will give me
your best. You just let me know if something changes or you do
not feel comfortable with what I have set forth for you
Suzuka: Thanks, I know you give us all that you can and I
appreciate you giving me a chance and backing me up.
With that Suzuka hugs management and walks out with a little
more confidence in where she stands.
Michelle Yeoh: Hey boss can i have a minute of your time.
Management: Sure Michelle, Whats on your mind.
Michelle: This has been a rough few months. I don't want to
interfere with business but is everything good now.
Management: I think so Michelle, you and the team leaders,
Katharine and Taylor have done a great job of keeping their
teams under control and I think that Harumi is a great choice to
lead the team forward. Is there anything that I need to know.
Michelle: No, I have just seen you under some pressure lately
and I know you have dealt with a lot of things over the last few
months. Me and your team leaders are here to help and I just
wanted you to know that. Anything that we can help with we just
wanted you to know that we are here.
Management: Thanks for that Michelle, You all have done a
great job of helping me thus far. I think the problems are
behind us. Lets give the dust some time to settle down and move
forward. I am still a work in progress and I am learning this
stable is growing. Did you have anything else that we need to
talk about.
Michelle: I just wanted to see how you were, I know we lost
some good talent but what you have here is a dedicated bunch.
Management: I think so too.
Michelle: Can we say a prayer together.
Management: Sure
The two hold hands and say a short prayer.
Management: Thanks Michelle and by the way, Things have been
tense here the last few weeks but I have wanted to tell you that
you had a really great win a few weeks ago and I saw a lot of
heart from you. Great job and keep it up
Michelle with a smile: Thanks boss. I am trying to improve
every day.
