       A Madman? - Chapter 3

       Kate Winslet was not happy.
About 20 seconds ago Tatyana Chernova had just come running up
to her crying her eyes out, claiming that Harvey had bullied
her. And knowing Harvey, he would have done just that.
Kate kicked his office door open fuming. “Care to explain
yourself you son of a b*tch?”
“You’re gonna have to be more specific about what I’m explaining
this time,” Harvey said without looking up. He had decided to
read The Lord of the Rings books about a minute ago. He hadn’t
even gotten through the first page when Kate had barged in.
“You know what I mean,” Kate snarled. “Even you’re not that
       forgetful.”
       “I am,” Harvey lied.
“That talk with Tatyana?” Kate said trying to jog his memory.
“She said that she liked Paige Hathaway?”
Harvey finally looked up from his book. “Who?”
"That woman you could’ve killed?” Kate said.
       “Which one?”
       “The first one,” Kate answered.
Harvey gave her a confused look followed by a startled one.
“When did I try to kill someone?”
Kate gave up. “You’re a prick you know that?”
“Whoa!” Harvey exclaimed. “No need for that Kate. It’s not my
       fault I can’t remember pointless sh*t!”
Kate gave him a look of death. “One of these days, I might just
consider throwing you through that glass.”
Harvey doubted that very much. His office overlooked a huge gym
where, right now, the Vixens were training for their upcoming
       fights. That reminded him…
“When is Bad to the Bone again?” Harvey asked.
“Tomorrow night,” Kate answered. “It’s literally right on your
calendar.” She pointed at his snake calendar on the wall behind
him. Funnily enough tonight was circled with the words Bad to
the Bone written in it with big red letters.
Harvey’s phone vibrated. “Kate, can you go away? This is
       something private.”
Kate reluctantly left. But not before telling him:
“You have a go at Tatyana for liking a girl; but you don’t bat
an eyelid at Victoria and Halston. Think about that while you’re
       at it.”
Harvey answered the call. He checked that his voice modulator
was active before speaking “Hey Pat, my man. Any luck
       identifying her?”
“No Mr Blake, we’ve tried pretty much everything and we’re not
       any closer to a name.”
“Oh that’s too bad,” Harvey said. “Because I’ve got it.”
       “What? How? When?”
“You heard me,” Harvey said. “I just did a couple Google
searches for missing people at the time and compared them to the
       corpse. 3 weeks ago.”
“And you didn’t bother to give us this information?!”
“No, I guess I didn’t,” Harvey replied smugly. “Anyway, her name
is Harriet Ainsley. If you look her up you’ll find that…”
“It’s a match,” Pat confirmed. “You’re even better than what the
       newspapers said.”
“Why thanks,” Harvey said in mock-arrogance. “I like you Pat
O’Rourke. You always feed my ego.”
       “O’Rourke?”
“Yeah,” Harvey said, staring to feel his ego deflate a little.
“That is your name isn’t it?”
“Hell no!" Pat cried. “I’m Pat Stephens. My actual name is Patty
John but you can just call me P.J.”
God you’re slacking Harvey, he told himself. You don’t work a
case for 3 years and you didn’t even look your employer up? For
shame. “You didn’t feel that it was necessary to give me your
       full name?!”
       “No, I guess I didn’t.”
D*ck, Harvey thought. “What else is there, if there is
       anything?”
“We’ve got a potential witness,” P.J. said. “I could send
       someone down there now.”
Harvey looked at his watch. It was 5:47pm. He looked down at the
gym and noticed that it was empty. The Vixen’s had left for the
       day.
“No, no,” Harvey said. “Leave it for the morning. I doubt the
killer is going to strike again after over 10 years in hiding.”
“You know that goes against ev…”
“Shut up P.J.” Harvey said. “And good night.”
He hung up and switched the computer on to spy on RSI again. The
building was still empty. They wouldn’t be back until the
morning. Assuming they kept to their schedule.
Harvey switched it off and flung himself onto his mattress.
Within seconds, he was out like a light.
