       A Madman? - Chapter 1
By: The Vixens Date: May 3, 2016, 10:58 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
In a cramped office in Queens, New York, sat a young deadlocked
man playing chess against the computer. He was winning.
Harvey Blake wasn't your typical person. Aged only 19 years, he
was the owner of a MMA stable filled almost to the brim with
incompetent rookies. Yet if you asked him if he hated his line
of work he would simply walk away silently. And awkwardly. A
brace was on his left calf. No one knew why he had it, not even
his mother. Mainly because he hadn't spoken to her in over 15
years. In person anyway. They sometimes text each other but
       that's pretty much it.
Despite his stable's success this year so far, Harvey never felt
proud of it. Never. He always felt like he was meant for
something else. He didn't know what but hopefully he would know
       when it came.
This month had been very stressful for Harvey. His Stable's
leader, Kate Winslet, knew it but whenever she asked what was
wrong Harvey shut her out. He had done so ever since a few weeks
       ago.
In Harvey's mind Kate was a bore. The only thing she ever seemed
to talk about was work (Recently it had been about Kaitlyn's
recovery) and the meeting they had with RSI. Sometimes Harvey
thought he would literally kill her if she did long enough. He
       never would though. He couldn't.
Harvey was happy before the month of April. He was easy to talk
to and was willing to help others. He even cared about his
fighters despite never attending events. But ever since the
meeting he had moved a mattress into the office and had been
sleeping there ever since. He was rarely alone however. The
building was the Vixen's main facility with others provided in
every major city across the world.
Although Kate spoke with Harvey on a daily basis, she knew very
little about him. She didn't even know his birthday. He never
talked about his personal life. Harvey preferred it that way.
Harvey had had a job before becoming the Vixen's owner. He had
never told anyone about it except that he had walked away from
       it 3 years ago.
And until 3 three weeks ago, he had thought he was done with it
       for good.
       3 weeks earlier
He and some of the Vixens were about to head out for the meeting
with Richelle Winterfeld and her stable. Harvey was frantically
searching for the vans keys. Kate had told him yesterday that he
had the memory of a goldfish. Despite knowing she was joking,
Harvey had planned to prove her wrong. He had placed the keys on
a small hook on the wall and would carry them to the ground
floor and wave them in front of Kate's face.
Or he would do, if he could remember where the hook was.
Kate was watching him from the door. She clearly found this
       amusing. "Lost something Harv?"
Harvey turned to face her. "No. Just temporally misplaced them."
Kate laughed out loud. "Over here Harv." She points at a hook
       next to the door.
Harvey strolls over and takes the keys. "I knew they were
       there."
       "I bet you did."
Harvey gave a sarcastic chuckle and handed her the keys. "I'll
meet you in the van. Just need to make sure I've not misplaced
       anything else."
Kate nods and leaves him to it.
Harvey walks around his desk and begins pulling the drawers
open. They were mostly filled with pieces of paper that had
served their purpose long ago, from receipts to bank statements.
Eventually satisfied Harvey closed the drawers and headed for a
lift on the wall opposite the door. He refused to call it an
elevator. The British in him wouldn't allow it.
Then he got the phone call.
As soon as Harvey saw who was calling any joy he had been
feeling immediately vaporised. He had hoped that this number
would never reach out to him again. But alas, there it was on
       his phone. Reluctantly he answered.
       "Hello. ...... Speaking. ...... I told you when I left, I'm
done. ...... I really don't care right now I'm about to leave
for a meeting. ...... No! It can't be moved! Do you know how
hard it was to organise something like that? Very hard. ......
Don't give me that sh... What? ...... I thought that was closed.
...... Why? ...... Look. You can tell him to stick it. I said I
was done. ...... How did you know about that? ...... Tabs? On
me? ...... Rude. ...... Ok, ok. Give me one very good reason why
I should even consider working for you? ...... Money doesn't
work on me mate. ...... That does. ...... All right. I'll look
into it. ...... I better get the resources I had when I
previously worked for you. ...... Fantastic! Talk to you later.
       Goodbye.
Harvey hung up and flopped into his chair. Today was supposed to
have been a good day. Now it had all gone to shit.
That was the day Harvey Blake moved into his office. It was the
day he became what he was.
It was the day Harvey Blake came out of retirement.
       Present Day
Kate burst into the office slamming the door behind her. Her
face filled with anger. "I HOPE YOUR F*CKING HAPPY!"
Harvey took his time closing the chess game down before turning
       to Kate. "I'm sorry?"
Kate threw a magazine in front of him, the anger slowly leaving
her face. "Turn to page 14."
Harvey did. On the page was a detailed account of the meeting
between the Vixens and RSI. He looked back up at Kate. "Yeah,
       so?"
The anger returned. "SO?! YOU TRIED TO KILL 3 WOMEN!"
"I know," Harvey said. "You were there."
"WHAT PART OF THAT DOESN'T TELL YOU THAT'S F*CKED UP?!"
"I know its f*cked up," Harvey said calmly. "But it was worth
       it."
The anger in Kate's face was replaced with confusion. "Worth it?
The world thinks you're insane! Even I think you're insane! That
magazine describes every little detail perfectly. Did you not
think the reporter sitting in wouldn't put that in?!"
       Harvey nodded. "I knew that."
Kate's confusion grew considerably. "What?! Did you happen to
know that Richelle wouldn't get the police involved? Because you
are so f*cking lucky that they haven't."
Harvey didn't say anything. He then stopped listening to
       whatever Kate was saying.
"... fall for a simple trick like that?!" Kate snapped. Harvey
started listening again. "She tricked you into thinking the
police were coming. And you fell for it. All because you didn't
take into account that one of them might have had a phone. I was
surprised they didn't press any charges against you for what you
did! But no matter how you look at it, you lost, they won.
       That's all that matters."
Harvey gave her a sly smile. "Did they?"
Kate gave him a look. "Please stop smiling. I hate it when you
do that. What did you do? Tell me everything."
"Simple," Harvey said. "I gave myself a private tour of their
building. Did you honestly think I wouldn't go through their
things while I was at it?"
You knew they didn't call the police?"
"Of course," Harvey said. "I also know her name is Richelle. I
just called her Rachael just for the hell with it."
His phone buzzed, indicating that he had received a text
message. He read it and then looked at Kate. "Can you kindly
piss off please? I need to do some work."
Kate gave him a cold stare before leaving.
Harvey went into his computer menu opened up some videos. Except
they weren't videos... they were feedback from cameras.
During his private tour, Harvey had taken the opportunity to
place camera's of his own invention in every room in the
building. Yet before that he had placed one in their vehicles
and one on the outside of the building. The camera's were very
unique as they looked like a small square of glass. They were as
flat as paper and impossible to see. Harvey had been able to use
the science behind the two-way mirror to create the ultimate
security camera. On one side you could see the back of the
camera while on the other you couldn't. It had been a hassle
making them but definitely worth it. And because Harvey had
glued the back of them, they were now stuck to the walls of RSI.
Invisible and all-seeing. And to top all of that off, Harvey had
placed them so discreetly that no one had noticed them... or
       ever will.
When his "tour" had reached the offices, Harvey had once again
come prepared. He had brought with him a device that looked like
a flash drive at a first glance. But it was in fact used to hack
into RSI's system. All he did was insert it into a USB port and
into their phones and within seconds he had access to all of
their files. And whenever someone used their phone or computer,
tablet, whatever, Harvey would know instantly and would be able
to see what they were doing. And if they had caught him on
security camera's of their own, no worry. Harvey could easily
erase the footage of him just like that.
If RSI ever caught on to what he was doing it wouldn't matter.
Harvey had prepared for anything they could possibly do.
He had been monitoring them for 3 weeks and, so far, nothing had
happened. But he knew it would only be a matter of time before
they slipped up. And when they did, Harvey would be ready.
All right ladies, Harvey thought as he fiddled with the "flash
       drive". "Make your move."

Hmm... OK. Part of me is thinking that was a great introduction
to what seems like a very interesting story. And part of me is
thinking... dear lord, what have I gotten myself into? :P
I'm gonna focus my attention on that first part and just enjoy
myself until I know more. Given how well this is written, that
       shouldn't be too hard. :)
