       Haunted by the Past - Preface
       OK, posting a word of warning like this is not my style, and I
       admit it's a tiny bit conceited.  But, I have something totally
       different that I've been working on, and I don't want to just
       spring it on everyone.
       Within the next week or so, I'm going to start posting a new
       story, and this one isn't like any of my others.  While the UMMA
       world still serves as the backdrop, this story goes in a very
       different direction.  I'll halt right there, because I don't
       want to tease anyone or give anything away.  But the reason I'm
       posting this little blurb is to point out the biggest difference
       this story is going to have: length.
       I'm still putting the finishing touches on it, but, as of now,
       it looks like it's going to be more than 35 chapters long.  On
       top of that, some of the chapters themselves are longer than
       what I usually post.
       Now, I've done some thinking about how I want to post this, and
       there is no perfect solution.  I don't want it to be
       overwhelming, so I'm not in favor of posting the whole story at
       once.  But, my usual schedule of posting a chapter every 4 or 5
       days isn't going to work here, or I'll still be posting 6 months
       from now.  So, my plan is to post a new chapter every other day.
       I can't swear I'll stick to that all the time, because I'm
       going to have to proofread and format each chapter as I go.
       Also, life will likely get in the way, from time to time.  But I
       don't want this to take forever, and we're looking at 2 1/2
       months to get it all out there, even if I do stick to the
       schedule.  So, yeah... I don't have a lot of choice.
       One other note: I've decided to drop the dialog colors in this
       one.  I have two reasons for that.  One is that, given the size
       of the story, I just couldn't keep up with all the formatting.
       The other is that there are a lot of sections in this story
       where four or five people are involved in a conversation.  With
       all the colors, it started to look like a child's coloring book.
       :P
       So, I just wanted you guys to know that, once this starts, it's
       going to come fast and furious.  I hope it's worth the time
       you'll need to keep up with it. :)

       VERY much looking forward to it, and I can guarantee it will be
       well worth the time.
       And that length sounds fine to me. The more RSI storytime the
       better! ;)
