THE MEETING 21 - Looking for Answers
Kara and Audrey were becoming desperate as their options were
quickly running out. It turned out that the Awesome Aires and
World of Fight weren't interested in any sort of an alliance
with the volatile Bad Ass Bunny stable. Once they were fired by
Alison Waite, other stables chose to steer clear of the two
former Playmates preferring not to get involved in any of the
turmoil that surrounded them. They found themselves as unwanted
free agents lumped in a desperate pool of fighters all looking
to prove themselves at all costs. Kara felt like she was on the
Island of misfit toys. She knew they were blackballed but hoped
that their records would eventually persuade anyone to sign
them. The pressure was mounting as both fighters were coming off
losses and knew that losing their next match would be a huge set
back and delay any chance they had of finding a home.
Kara had been tricked into signing away any shot she had of
starting up a new stable thanks to the underhanded Alison,
however the option was still open for Audrey. While they both
had successful careers in the UMMA, neither had the funds
necessary for a start-up stable. Finding venture capital in
today's current climate would take a lot of hard work and
wouldn't be available anytime soon.
The two former Bunnies still had upcoming matches and both did
their best to keep up their training regiment. Kara's fight with
Natasha Yi was right around the corner and she was doing her
best without any sort of scouting report to fall back on. She
felt she was physically ready for the incredibly fit Natasha but
she really had no clear game plan and would have go in their
blind and give it her best shot. If she still had her stable,
she would be paired up against a training partner similar in
size and strength to Natasha. She would then practice over and
over again targeting her opponents weaknesses while working on
her strengths. While Audrey did the best she could pretending to
be Natasha, there was a clear physical difference between the
two and Kara still hadn't gotten the proper feel for her
opponent. Being unprepared was unsettling as Kara tried to keep
her focus.
Without the resources of a stable backing them up, Kara felt
compassion for the other free agents and if she ever got another
stable she would look at them in a different light. Being on the
bottom looking up felt horrible and she knew it would be an
uphill battle to keep from falling into obscurity.
Kara put off reaching out to Dragon knowing that his roster was
full and there was no room for her or Audrey. She knew that
opening up to him would put him at odds with his stable manager
and she dreaded putting him in that position again. She
remembered how upset Sophia was when the two last crossed paths
in Auckland. Sophia had shown restraint and passed up an
opportunity to take it to her knowing full well she was in no
condition to defend herself. Thankfully Sophia took the high
ground and chose to walk away. She knew that Dragon would be
taking Sophia's wrath for the previous night and hoped that he
wasn't holding it against her. Besides, even if a spot or two
somehow came open, Sophia and Briana would be there blocking
them at every turn. She was sure that they would be at the
bottom of Sophia's list of potential recruits.
Being on her own was starting to soften Kara's opinion on
Sophia. She had put the poor girl through hell and was starting
to regret her actions realizing that her childish behavior and
her vindictive side may have gotten her in the mess she was
facing. Getting one up on her felt good in the moment but
overall it left Kara feeling empty. Kara was always a good judge
of character and when she first met Sophia, she felt that the
two of them would be friends. She should have listened to her
instincts as they were usually right. What if Sophia was somehow
telling the truth and wasn't responsible for having her attacked
at the Den. This whole feud would be for nothing and she would
still have her job. A silly war of words with Marie Avgeropolous
escalated into getting people hurt and jobs were lost. All this
for not turning her shoulder and walking away from an up and
coming fighter who had yet to get in the cage. Kara knew that
getting noticed in the UMMA was difficult at best but disagreed
with Marie's approach preferring to let her actions speak for
themselves instead of her words.
Kara also had to give Sophia full credit for keeping her stable
focused. The Den was nothing short of spectacular at Maximum
Risk by not only going 7-2 but retaining all of their titles in
the process. Sophia had managed to keep it together while Kara
had fallen apart and lost her stable. She knew she would have to
reach out to Dragon but knew that there wasn't anything she
could do to make it up to Sophia. Kara made her bed and now
would have to sleep in it.
After all, her real enemy turned out to be Alison and not
Sophia. From the moment Alison was hired, she plotted her take
over. Alison was transparent at first subversively pushing the
feud between Kara and Sophia, using it as an opportunity to hide
her ulterior motives. Kara's mind kept going back to her meeting
with Alison and the Playboy Executives. "This is going to be
tough but I'm sure you've seen this coming for some time now."
What did she miss and how could she not see this coming when it
was apparent to everybody else. Maybe she deserved to be let go.
Thank God for Audrey, without her, Kara would probably be
modeling swimsuits and not preparing for her next fight. Kara
made her way to Audrey's house as the two planned their next
move.
Kara: "Hey Aud's, did you book our flights to Melbourne?"
Audrey: "Yeah, but do you know how much they cost? Looks like
we'll be flying coach."
Kara: "Hang in there hun, We'll be back on our feet in no time.
I'll try and set up something with Dragon when we land. He
mentioned that he'd like to take me to a Rugby match. I think
I'll take him up on that. Hopefully he can help us out."
Audrey: "That's if he's still interested. You don't have a
Stable anymore so seeing you might not make sense to him
anymore."
The perks from being a Bad Ass Bunny were already being missed.
As the two made their way through the busy airport, they
couldn't help but miss the Private Jet they have grown so fond
of. Long lines, checking bags and being patted down by some
creepy Airport Security Guard was only the start to their
wonderful new adventure.
Kara's string of good fortune continued when they boarded the
over booked flight to Melbourne. Audrey managed to find herself
seated between two handsome Surfers from Torquay while Kara's
seat was between a grumpy single Mom playing Candy Crush and an
overweight smelly businessman who couldn't stop staring at her
chest. UN-fu*cking-believable thought Kara as she faked a smile
at sloppy man sitting halfway in her seat slowly rubbing up
against her. 14 hours, 14 hours, 14 hours. The countdown had
begun. She closed her eyes hoping to pass some time when she was
tapped on the shoulder by the man next to her. Apparently he had
a YouTube channel of his dog doing tricks in his Mother's
backyard. 13 hours 53 minutes 13 hours 53 minutes. Maybe Dragon
could save her from this.
With the long flight finally over, a disheveled Kara met up with
Audrey as the two went looking for their luggage and a rental
car.
Audrey: "We got invited to a beach bash."
Kara: "Seriously Audrey, I'm exhausted. I fight Natasha Yi in a
couple of days and if I not 100% she'll bust my ass."
Audrey: "You mind if I go?
Kara: "Of course not, I'm just going to relax and then get a
hold of Dragon.
Kara made it to her hotel room and did her best to make herself
comfortable while Audrey got ready to meet the two surfer dudes.
Kara's life had taken a change for the worse. Gone were the
chauffeured rides and the 5 star suites with personal chefs.
They were replaced with a Toyota Camry rental and dinner at
TGIF's.
Kara had enough and desperately needed Dragon's help. She took a
few deep breaths and reached out to the charming Stable Owner.
Dragon: "Ga Day."
Kara: "Dragon, this is Kara."
Dragon: "Kara! Hey, are you okay? What are all these rumours
I've been hearing? Did you really leave the Bunnies?"
Kara: "I didn't leave, I was fired. It was horrible Dragon, just
horrible. My Talent Coordinator set me up."
Dragon: "Fired?! But - Okay, you've got to
come see me. I want to know everything. How on earth did your
Talent Coordinator get you fired?"
Kara: "When do you want to meet. I've got a lot I need to get
off my chest."
Dragon: "I'll bet. Well, are you in
Melbourne yet? Are you even still fighting at Stacked?"
Kara: "I just got here and I'm staying at The Langham. Do you
know where that is? And yes, I'm still fighting Natasha Yi but
I'm really worried. I just haven't had the time to prepare for
her with everything that's going on."
Dragon: "Sure, I know The Langham, it's
basically around the corner. You know, we're right near Rod
Laver, if you need somewhere to train the next couple days."
Kara: "I can train there?
Dragon: "Well, I'm assuming you don't have
anything lined up here? I'm sure at the very least I can get you
access to some local training facilities. I have a few contacts
in town that can help."
Kara: "You'd really do that for me? You're the best. Do you want
to get together for a quick bite, I'm starved. I couldn't eat a
thing on the plane?"
Dragon: "It's nothing, really. I may as well
help while you're in Melbourne and I actually can. And sure,
you've gotta fill me in with all that's happening."
Kara: "Let me know where you want to meet. It's on me this
time."
Dragon: "You're basically in Southbank.
There's a ton of nice places there. I'll come to you."
Kara: "I can't wait. I'll meet you in the lobby. See you in a
few."
Kara frantically started unpacking looking for her favorite
skirt and blouse. Dragon was on his way and she wanted to look
her best for him."
Before long, Dragon arrived in a nice shirt and slacks, looking
a little un-Dragonlike and quite dapper.
He marched into the lobby, and without breaking stride for a
moment, wrapped Kara up in a big hug.
Dragon: "Hey. How you holding up?"
Kara felt like a giant weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
She tightly held onto Dragon and fought back tears. She put on a
brave face and confided in the affable Stable owner.
Kara: "I'm doing a lot better now. It's really good to see you."
Dragon: "You too. Let's get a seat somewhere and you can fill me
in. Don't worry, we'll sort it all out."
The two were seated for lunch and Kara immediately starting
letting it all out. Dragon proved to be an exceptional listener
as Kara told him everything from her hatred of Marie to her
jealousy of Sophia. She even told him how she unfairly picked on
Laura Whitmore for no other reason than she was another hot
blonde. Dragon listened until the food finally came with Kara
finally realizing that she hadn't let him get in a single word.
Kara: "I'm sorry, you must be getting bored. I usually don't go
on like this."
Dragon: "No, it's fine. You have a lot to get off your chest,
and I'm glad you have. You probably needed to vent for a while.
You're allowed you know."
Kara: "Thanks. By the way, how's Bri doing? We had to take
Audrey to the ER and have her hand checked out. She's lucky it's
not broken but her chest is sore and she still isn't able to
wear a bra. Looks like they really went at it."
Dragon: "Sorry to hear it. I hope Audrey's okay. Bri's alright,
just letting her ribs and head recover. Audrey got her a good
one just under the eye. Nasty bruise. I dare say it would've
been a ripper fight had it been in the cage."
Dragon frowned, picking aimlessly at his food.
Dragon: "How on earth are we gonna stop this from happening?"
Kara: "Audrey has learned her lesson. I don't think she wants
anything to do with your girls anytime soon. She feels worse
than I do and would like to put this behind her as soon as
possible."
Dragon: "Well, I was surprised Bri was involved. It's not like
her. I think the tension has mounted a little high on everybody.
We need to get a handle on it."
Kara: "I totally agree. I think it starts with Sophia and I.
Audrey and Bri were just sticking up for us after all. I'd like
to start by apologizing to her. We really got off on the wrong
foot and everything just went to hell after that. Do you think
she'll be up for that?"
Dragon: "Well... um... I'll talk to her. She's frustrated, with
me as much as anyone. But if you two can sort your sh*t out,
it'd go a long way to cooling everyone's heads, I'm sure."
Kara: You mentioned something about a training facility. I fight
Natasha Yi and she really has me worried."
Dragon: "I wouldn't be too worried. I've seen you fight. But
yes, come with me tonight. I've a friend who owns a little place
here in Melbourne. It's where I got my start, actually. You'll
be more than welcome there. And they have some good fighters
you'll be able to spar with."
Kara: "You don't know how much this means to me. If I lose my
next fight nobody's going to want to sign me."
Dragon and Kara finished their lunch and made plans for some
training later that evening. While Kara knew she needed to get
some cardio in before hand, she didn't want to leave Dragon's
side as he made her feel like everything would be all right. He
walked her back to the Langham and she gave him a big hug and a
quick kiss on the cheek.
Kara: "Thanks for everything. See you tonight."
Dragon: "My pleasure. Everything's going to work out. Try not to
worry about it, okay? You're going to kick ass like every other
event and have the stable you want in no time."
Kara tried to work out in her Hotel room but found it hard to
focus. She couldn't get Dragon out of her thoughts. Why was he
being so nice to her. He really didn't have to but lately he was
always there for her. Before she knew it Dragon would be on his
way so she put on her workout gear and shoved her gloves in her
gym bag.
Soon enough, Dragon arrived again, escorted Kara to their ride
and down the road to Melbourne Allied Sports Association.
Effectively a tiny warehouse, it was old-school Melbourne
architecture at its best. A little red-brick shop-front in the
heart of the city, that didn't look particularly special from
the front, and to be honest, not all that incredible from the
inside.
Dragon lead Kara inside, and her nose may have crinkled at the
sight of the old insides of the building.
It took less than a minute for a pretty brunette to shriek and
run into Dragon's arms.
Dragon: "Rach? I take it Miki still hasn't let you leave?"
Rachael: "The moment you sign me, I'm outta here. Otherwise, why
go anywhere that's not here?"
Dragon: "You know I'd love to. It's tricky. And I've got a full
roster these days."
Rachael: "Yeah, well, you didn't have a full roster when you
were moving over to the States two years ago, did you?"
Dragon: "Rach, if I had a dollar for every poor decision I'd
ever made, I could do whatever the hell I wanted at this point."
Rachael's gaze flickered between Dragon and Kara.
Rachael: "Who's the babe?"
Dragon: "Oh, sorry, this is Kara. Kara, Rachael. Kara needs a
training partner for a couple of days. You up for it?"
Rachael: "You betcha."
Kara sized up the pretty brunette from head to toe. Rachael was
a few inches taller and looked to be have a few pounds on the
Blonde Playmate but other than that they matched up fairly well.
She was incredibly fit with nicely defined abs and lean toned
muscles on her arm and legs. Kara stuck her hand out and the two
greeted each other. Kara was set back by the fit girls firm
handshake.
Kara: "Thanks for helping me out Rachael."
Rachael: "No worries. If D here says you need a hand, it's a
hand you get."
Dragon: "Thanks, Rach. Seriously."
Rachael: "Hey, I've seen Kara fight on the telly. The honour is
all mine."
Dragon helped Kara with her gloves and her mouth piece. He took
out a stop watch from his pocket and followed her into the cage.
Dragon: " OK, 5 minutes girls"
Kara turned and faced Rachael who was shadow boxing in the
opposite corner. She could see that Rachael was no stranger to
the cage as her hands were swift and she was light on her feet
effortlessly floating around the cage.
Rachael: "Say luv, your opponent a leftie or rightie?"
Kara: "Left handed I think."
Rachael took up a southpaw stance and the two started circling
around the center of the cage. Kara kept her eye on the cute
brunette as she tried to cut her off circling to the right. Kara
was inching closer and closer throwing out a few harmless jabs
when out of nowhere Rachael landed a stiff cross snapping Kara's
head to the side. A quick shake of her head and Kara continued
to pursue her elusive training partner. Rachael got the best of
the next exchange and Kara could feel her cheek starting to
swell.
Dragon: "Come on girls, this is just a sparring session."
Rachael: "What, You want me to take it easy on her?"
Kara was put back by the brunettes boldness.
Kara: "Nobody's taking it easy on anybody! We're good to go
Rachael."
Rachael: "Good, let's see what ya got then."
This was the first time Kara had fought in front of Dragon and
she wanted her first impression to be a good one but she could
already tell that Rachael wouldn't be an easy target. The two
fighters went back at it. Kara was impressed with Rachael's
technique. She could see why Dragon was so high in her as she
was better than most of the fighters Kara had faced in her
successful albeit brief career. The two continued as Rachael
more than held her own and was giving Kara fits landing a few
nice body shots and some stinging kicks.
Dragon stopped the action as both girls went for a towel and
some water. He went over to Kara with a concerned look on his
face.
Dragon: "You OK?"
Kara: "I'm totally fine. She's really good though. I can see her
making a splash in the league."
Dragon glanced admirably over at Rachael for a moment, quite
clearly in thought.
Dragon: "Yeah, she always showed a lot of promise. I think my
unwillingness to be biased towards her pushed me in the other
direction, and I never gave her the chance she deserved."
He returned his focus back to Kara.
"I'm not making the same mistake with you."
Dragon's admirably gaze at Rachael didn't go unnoticed by Kara.
She knew that the two had a past and that there was still
something in it for Rachael. Kara spirits were lifted as it was
clear that Dragon was behind her but so far she didn't have any
answers for the ripped brunette. Dragon motioned the two to
engage. Again Kara was cautiously stalking Rachael.
Rachael: "Come on hun, let's get you ready for your match?"
Kara lunged at Rachael throwing wild lefts and rights but only
managed to land a couple of glancing blows. Kara took in a deep
breath and went at the Rachael again only this time Rachael
didn't back down and the two started throwing bombs at close
range. Kara knew that standing toe to toe with Rachael wasn't
her best option so she grabbed her around the waist and drove
her back into the cage. Kara was surprised at Rachael's strength
as the two took turns controlling each other trading knees to
the body and legs. Dragon separated the two and brought them
back to the center of the cage. This time Kara went straight for
a clinch and managed to land some crisp shots to the stomach but
they just seemed to bounce off Rachael's ripped abs. A viscous
foot stomp by Rachael elicited a loud moan from Kara leaving her
hobbling, unable to put any weight on her sore foot. Dragon
interceded and started lecturing the two fighters.
Dragon: "Hey! Cool your jets, ladies, we're training here."
Rachael: "I'm just making sure she's gonna be ready."
Dragon: "She also needs to be uninjured."
Rachael: "I'm sure she can take it. It's not her first rodeo.
Right, Kara?"
Kara: "No worries, we're cool, let's go Rachael."
Dragon reluctantly directed the two to engage. As Kara circled
around her worthy foe she couldn't help but get the feeling she
was in a fight for Dragon's affections. First it was Sophia and
now Rachael. Kara wondered if this was just a normal thing for
Dragon and just how many others there were. Kara came to her
senses when a swift left cross missed her by a mere inch. Kara
cut off Rachael throwing jabs at the pretty brunette's ever
moving head. Kara slipped back to the right and caught Rachel
wide open with an uppercut to the chin instantly sending her to
the mat. Kara stormed over the downed brunette and held back as
she faked a few elbows and hammerfists to the head. Dragon stood
up the two and brought them back to their feet. Rachael smiled
at the Blonde Playmate.
Rachael: "Good one there Kara."
Dragon simply nodded and gave Kara a knowing wink that said he
approved. Rachael's eyes darted back and forth between the two
as if following a high-speed tennis match.
Rachael: "So, what brings you guys over here when you have your
own fancy pants facilities? Miss me, D?"
Dragon: "Kara's not currently affiliated with a stable actually,
so we needed somewhere... neutral."
Rachael: "Neutral? Here? Come on D, who are you fooling?"
Dragon: "Fine, I missed ya. But I knew you could help."
Then she turned to Kara, and unabashedly addressed the elephant
in the room.
Rachael: "So, are you two an item or what?"
Kara turned to Dragon and shrugged her shoulders unsure of what
to say next. She knew what her answer was but didn't want to put
Dragon in an awkward position.
Dragon's eyebrows leapt just about up to his hairline.
Dragon: "That's none of your business."
Rachael: "Oh, it isn't? So, of all the gyms in Melbourne,
including yours, you wandered in here by accident did you?"
Dragon: "You're the only one I could trust. You're also the
best."
Rachael stood hands on hips, smirking, looking completely
unconvinced.
Rachael: "Sure, we'll go with that. Just trying to work out
where I stand."
Dragon: "At the moment? Right in front of your training partner
for the next couple of days."
Rachael turned to Kara, giving her a broad smile.
Rachael: "You're gonna owe me big when your girlfriend here
tears her opponent a new one."
Kara: "Come on, enough small talk."
Both fighters faced each other and continued where they left
off. They furiously went at it trading body shots and throwing
each other around the cage. As they continued and it was
becoming clear that while Rachael was Kara's equal on her feet,
she was no match for the former Bad Ass Bunny on the ground. The
two finished their sparring session and neither had anything
left for the other. Kara was drenched in sweat and had her hands
on her knees while Rachael was breathing heavily through her
mouth. Kara went over to Rachael and put her arm on her
shoulder.
Kara: "Thanks for the workout."
Rachael: "No worries. I can tell everyone I sparred with the
next Lightweight champ."
Dragon: " Hey, I've got fighters in that division."
Rachael: "Well, genius, you shoulda thought of that before you
brought her to me. Kara'll be a lean mean ass-kickin' machine by
the time your misguided ass releases this fox amongst your
little chickens."
Kara: "Same time tomorrow?"
Rachael: " You betcha."
Kara grabbed her gym bag and prepared to leave with Dragon in
tow. Rachael nodded at the two lovebirds and went to work
pounding the stuffing out of a tackling dummy.
Kara: "She's good. I think you really messed up by not signing
her. And by the way, she's not left handed."
Dragon: "No."
Kara: "No, what?"
Dragon: "No, you can't have her. I'll sign her to the Den before
I see her in anyone else's hands."
Kara: "I was hoping you'd sign me first."
Dragon's look softened into a warm smile and he became visibly
contemplative.
Dragon: "You want to come to the Den? After eeeeverything that's
happened?"
Kara: "Audrey to. It would only be until we can get back on our
feet."
Dragon: "Um... that's... uh... that's quite the ask. And I don't
know how comfortable you would be there, given your history with
the stable."
Kara looked down and her body language showed her
disappointment.
Kara: "I understand it's a lot to ask and I don't want to make
things any more difficult for you. I just didn't want us to end
up on a different stable."
Dragon softly touched a hand to Kara's arm.
Dragon: "Hey, you know I want to help, right? I'll do what I
can. Just, leave it with me."

Boom! Island of Misfit Toys reference right off the top, and
I'm hooked. :)
Side note: For some reason, I always wanted the water pistol
that shoots jelly. Actually tried to do it once. It was not a
success.
OK, back to the story. Who is this mysterious Rachael? I have
the sneaking suspicion her relationship to Dragon is not exactly
what it seems. At least, it had better be. Because he's
already hip deep in sh... uh... doo-doo. And the way to get out
of it is not to get a shovel and dig a deeper hole. Being
caught between two women is dangerous enough. Adding a third
would be suicide. :P
Meanwhile, Becca I've always loved the way you can create
generic yet universally recognizable "extras" in your press
releases, and the technique translates beautifully here.
Trapped between "grumpy single Mom playing Candy Crush" and
"overweight smelly businessman?" We've all been on that flight.
;)
Great stuff. As always, I'm looking forward to more. :D

The idea of taking a fight
from the sim and re-writing it was stolen from something
Richelle did awhile back. This is my way of giving Kara a voice
since her and Audrey are free agents and are no longer a member
of my stable.
THE MEETING 22 - Fight Night
Stacked was all ready underway when Kara Monaco made
her way to the Rod Laver Arena. She was finally ready for her
Lightweight bout and for the first time in weeks felt as ease.
Gone was the sinking feeling of being unprepared and the shock
of not having a Stable to fall back on. Now it was all up to her
and her opponent to see who would be the better woman in the
cage. Kara's draw for tonight's fight was one that most fighters
dreaded as it was against someone who was coming out of
retirement. Natasha Yi had successfully fought in the UMMA but
hadn't competed since High Voltage in January 2014. She had
taken 2 years off from competition but stayed involved as a
Referee. Preparing for an opponent like Natasha was a crap shoot
at best as her previous scouting reports could tell you
everything about her or absolutely nothing at all.
Natasha had been talked out of retirement by the
Awesome Aires, a newer stable that have turned the corner and
were now making big strides in the continually expanding UMMA.
Winning was now commonplace and expected from the Aires and
grabbing a seasoned fighter like Natasha ended up being quite a
steal. Even though Natasha would come in with a .500 record, she
had proved that she was dangerous as attested to by her 2 wins
over Myra Veronica and her 2-1 record versus Ali Larter. She
also pushed Rachel Stevens and Olga Kurylenko the distance
before losing out on close decisions. Kara knew she needed help
against Natasha and when Dragon offered his assistance, she
simply couldn't refuse his offer.
Dragon used his resources to hook Kara up with the
perfect training partner. While Rachael Finch officially
belonged to the Melbourne Allied Sports Association, she was one
of Dragon's many talented prospects he had scattered throughout
the city. With only 3 days to train before her big fight,
Rachael put Kara through her paces and did her best to ready the
aspiring Lightweight. By the time Rachael was done, Kara was be
ready to kick some major ass.
Being unaffiliated meant that Kara would have to
find some corner workers. Miki, the owner of the Melbourne
Allied Sports Association and Rachael had volunteered to help
out. Along with the help of Audrey Allen, Kara felt she was in
good hands in case the fight against Natasha took a turn for the
worse.
Established Stables were afforded luxurious locker
rooms with whirlpools, massage tables, ice baths, catered meals
and individual showers. Free agents were lumped together in a
small noisy room fighting for free space, fresh air and burritos
from a 20 year old vending machine. The four did the necessary
preparations in the hot crowded locker room waiting for Kara's
fight to be announced. Miki finished the final touches on Kara's
wraps while Audrey tightly weaved her hair. When they were
through they put on Kara's lucky robe and made the long walk to
the cage.
While Kara would normally enter the cage to a song
from Steel Panther, free agents weren't afforded such opulence
and usually made their way to some generic music. Nerves were
nothing new to Kara and the nauseous feeling she had before
fights was back again in full force. Her heart was lifted when
she passed Dragon who closed both eyes and slowly nodded at her
as she went by. The heart felt moment quickly disappeared when
she walked past Alison Waite and Erin Andrews who were a couple
of rows away.
Alison: "My God, looks like Kara found herself an
entourage of sorts."
Erin: "That's the most pathetic looking posse I've
ever seen. I guess it's fitting."
Alison: "Hey Kara! Watch yourself, everyone's out to
get you."
They both enjoyed a quick laugh at Kara's expense
making sure that she caught every moment of their ridicule.
Audrey flipped them the double bird while the rest ignored them.
Kara entered the cage and was pleased that a large following had
come here to support her. She looked over at her opponent and
was taken back as Natasha looked awesome. Her body was sculpted
with long lean muscles and she looked more than ready for her
upcoming battle. Her body glistened in the bright lights as she
slowly stretched her tight muscles while bouncing up and down.
Kara had seen Natasha before but never in her ring attire. She
sized her opponent up while Natasha refused to look Kara in the
eye. If the UMMA was looking to make an even match, they did an
excellent job pairing these two up. They weighed in at 110lbs on
the mark and both sported 34C-24-34 figures. The only difference
between the two was that Kara was 5'6" tall while Natasha was
5'5". Both Prospects were coming off disappointing losses so
neither fighter had any clear momentum. Natasha was dressed in a
bad girl black bikini that matched her long jet black hair while
Kara chose a red metallic micro bikini that left very little to
the imagination but afforded her a full range of motion.
Introductions were made and Natasha raised her fist
in the air encouraging her screaming fans as she exuded
confidence. Kara bounced up and down in place as the announcer
called her name. Her full C cup breasts swayed up and down as
she flicked her hair around. Both fighters were directed to the
center of the cage for final instructions. While Natasha refused
to even glance at Kara before, she stood nose to nose with her
as she stared daggers deep into her eyes. Kara had an uneasy
feeling as Referee Fearne Cotton and her fellow referee Natasha
were in an intense conversation. When they were done, Fearne
gave Natasha a nod and quick slap on the butt. Kara went back to
her corner as the cage was cleared of announcers, coaches,
cameramen, reporters and UMMA officials. Rachael put both hands
firmly on Kara's shoulders and gave her some final advice before
exiting the cage.
Rachael: "No worries girl, just stick to what we
practiced and she'll be on her ass in no time. Trust the
training, and for heaven’s sake, trust yourself. Now, go show
the world what Kara Monaco is made of."
Kara was still bouncing up and down as she put her
guard up and faced her dark haired adversary who still hadn't
taken her eyes off of her. Her mind was racing as her pulse
quickened anticipating the opening bell. She was still
rehearsing her strategy as the bell sounded and the two warriors
moved closer. Natasha made an early statement and flipped Kara
the middle finger. Kara ignored the rude gesture as she'd seen
it so many times before that it really made no difference at
this point. She kept reminding herself to watch the eyes,
they'll tell you everything. Natasha faked a move and launched a
nice uppercut that Kara easily blocked. Kara moved in and
grabbed Natasha until their bodies were pressed tightly together
and their breasts were mashed up against each other. The two
circled around when Kara found an opening and drilled an
uppercut directly onto Natasha's chin opening her up and sending
her to the mat.
The capacity crowd went ballistic as Natasha tried
to make her way back to her feet. Kara could hear Natasha's fans
urging her back up but she could also hear Rachael shouting
instruction from her corner.
Rachael: "Push! Kara, get on her! You got her, don't
let up!"
Kara moved towards her downed opponent and gave her
a nasty shove keeping Natasha on her back. Kara circled looking
for an opening while Natasha tried to position herself so that
her legs were facing Kara.
Rachael: "Stomp her if you have to! Use the
advantage! Now!"
Kara moved to Natasha's side and drilled her with a
scything kick to the thigh. The loud pop left a nasty bruise and
Natasha was in a great deal of pain. Natasha's fans were calling
for their fighter to make it to her feet but again a nasty shove
form Kara sent her back down to the mat. With Natasha struggling
to make it to her feet, Kara tried to stand on her opponents
hair but Natasha's quick thinking saved her.
With no clear advantage to be had, Kara backed away
and waved her arm about motioning Natasha back to her feet.
Feeling confident in her abilities, Kara couldn't pass up some
taunting.
Kara: "Come on you b*tch. We are not done yet!"

Natasha got her feet set and started moving in and
out looking like a professional while Kara was bobbing and
weaving. Natasha's poor technique allowed Kara to counter with a
tremendous punch that almost broke her jaw. So far the fight was
going Kara's way but she knew that she couldn't let her guard
down as Natasha still had a lot of fight left in her.
Thanks to her training with Rachael, Kara felt fresh
and had a lot left in her tank. She looked over at Natasha and
couldn't resist another taunt.
Kara: "Come on, come on. Let's get this
done!"
Kara jumped over Natasha and tied her up pushing her
until Natasha's back was against the cage while controlling her
in a dangerous plum position. Natasha did her best to push Kara
away but the clinch was tight and Kara wasn't about to let her
opponent go. Natasha was getting desperate trying to break
Kara's hold on her so she faked a punch to Kara's breasts and
tried to trip her to the ground. Kara momentarily lost her
balance but after a small struggle remained on her feet. The
crowd was so loud that Kara could barely hear her corner
shouting out instructions.
Rachael: "Uppercut! Nail the b*tch!"
Kara heard Rachael and launched a sick uppercut
thrown from the hip. It landed square on Natasha's chin and send
her to the mat in a heap. Natasha's chin was a mess as it was
swelling and blood was starting to seep out.
Fearne Cotton moved in to look at the wound but
backed away letting the fight continue.
2 minutes into the round and it was all going Kara's
way as Natasha was on the ground with Kara hovering over her.
Natasha tried to make a break for it and stand up but Kara
wasn't having any part of it as she shouted at Natasha.
Kara: "Stay down, Natasha! Where you belong!"
Natasha's fans weren't giving up on their fighter as
they were wildly cheering for her to get back up but Kara wanted
no part of it and again shoved her back down. Natasha was
expending a lot of energy in an effort to make it to her feet
but Kara kept her dominant position and kept her from getting on
her back.
Kara: "Where do you think you're going,
Natasha?"
Referee Fearne Cotton had enough and cut off Kara
and allowed Natasha to get back up. A relieved looking Natasha
got back up and looked ready for more. Half way through the 1st
round and it was now Kara who looked like the tired fighter as
she pushed Natasha away as she sucked in a few deep breaths. Not
liking the direction the fight was heading, Rachael got right up
to the cage and started yelling encouragements to Kara.
Rachael: "Less talk, Kara, hit her already! You’re
on top of this, don’t let up! You’ve got her scared, don’t give
her an inch!”
Kara Monaco looked for angles and threw out a few
jabs that were quickly countered by some crisp punches from
Natasha Yi in a brilliant exchange. Natasha backed away after
getting caught with a great combo. Natasha seemed to have caught
her second wind and went on the offensive trying to grapple with
a fading Kara who did her best to keep her distance. Natasha was
gaining confidence and found her voice and started taunted
Kara.
Natasha: "Come on, Kara. Let's dance!"
The two circled around the center of the cage each
looking for an opening. Natasha moved first and launched a big
hook looking to punish the body but Kara showed excellent
footwork dodging the blow while looking for a counter. A swift
flurry of punches caught Natasha wide open and put her in a
world of hurt and it looked like Natasha may have wet herself in
fear. Things were looking bad for Natasha who was taking a lot
of punishment. The fight came to an end when the frightening
power of Kara left a bloody Natasha sleeping peacefully on the
canvas!
Kara's corner came flying through the cage door and
lifted their fighter off the ground. They continued celebrating
until the official decision was rendered. Kara made sure to
congratulate Natasha after making sure she was OK. It was a
dominating performance by Kara as she made it through the fight
without having her opponent land a single strike. Kara knew that
none of this would be possible without Dragon. As she made her
way back to her locker room she kept looking for him but the
lights were so bright that she could hardly see anyone. She was
riding high but her celebration wouldn't be complete without
having Dragon by her side. They finally made their way to the
end of the hall and entered the dank locker room. Kara squealed
when she saw Dragon waiting for her. She ran at him full speed
and jumped into his waiting arms locking her sexy legs around
his waist.
Kara: "Thank you thank you thank you! How did I
do?"
Dragon: "Incredible, as always."
The pair were all smiles as they hugged, and
Dragon's warm grin only continued to grow wider.
Dragon: "That was a big win ya know, I'm really
proud of you. The Bunnies are idiots for letting you go."
Kara: "At least you believe in me."
Dragon: "Ha. I'm foolish, but I'm no fool. You're a
great fighter. You'll have the title one day, mark my
words."
Kara: "Maybe with you by my side. I can say the same
thing for Rachael, she is amazing. How did you manage to find
her?
Dragon: "We met at a party. Hit it off instantly. I
don't think either of us spoke to anyone else all night. We just
really made sense to each other and that was rare for either of
us. She was already fighting out of Miki's gym at that point, so
I started going along to watch her fight. Miki noticed I had a
talent for recognizing certain potential in fighters and he
hired me to do some scouting for him as well as organizing
fighters to start using his gym and such. But very few I ever
found managed to compare to Rach."
Kara: "How do I compare to Rachael?
Dragon: "This feels like a trap."
Kara shrugged.
Dragon: "You're both awesome fighters. Different
kinds of fighters, but both very capable of winning titles one
day."
Kara: "Well I really like her and would like to keep
training with her. Do you think there's a chance Audrey can join
us?"
Dragon: "I don't see why not. I know you and Audrey
are close. It makes sense for you two to work together,
particularly right now. But, I don't know how you want to keep
working with Rach. I mean, now that Stacked is done, we're all
heading Sydney-way."
Kara smiled at Dragon and batted her eyes jokingly
saying.
Kara: "Maybe all 3 of us can join your
stable."
Dragon sighed.
Dragon: "You're gonna be the end of me."

THE MEETING 23 - Still Looking for a Home
Kara couldn't blame Dragon for not making room on his stable for
her and Audrey. She had put him in a sticky position and didn't
want to cause any more trouble between him and his fighters than
she already had but Audrey's fight against Lorde was just around
the corner and she would have to start training soon. She didn't
want to put her friend in a disadvantage against one of Amped's
talented rising stars and Audrey simply could not suffer a
losing streak if she expected to find another home. Training was
the key to victories in the UMMA and Kara knew the longer it
took to find a Stable, the harder it would it be to stay
competitive. Time was running out on the former Stable Leader
and her spirited friend.
Rachel Finch was instrumental in Kara's hard fought win against
Natasha Yi. For three days she pushed Kara to the breaking point
making sure she covered every angle. She refused to let up on
Kara as she put her through her paces relentlessly forcing the
Prospect Lightweight further than she had ever been in her life.
In the end, Kara's performance was nothing short of spectacular
as she easily disposed of the talented Natasha within the 1st
round. Kara and Rachel had formed a relationship built out of
respect and had become close friends in a short amount of time.
The two had planned on a similar training schedule for Audrey
Allen but Rachel's performance didn't go unnoticed by Dragon who
quickly made room on his roster and signed the talented Miss
Universe. Inside, Kara was disappointed that Rachel was signed
instead of her but she knew that Dragon had no other option as
signing her and Audrey could cause more trouble than it was
worth.
After some brainstorming between Dragon, Kara, Miki and Rachel,
it was decided that Sydney model Gemie Howe could help train the
talented Featherweight. Gemie was yet another of Dragon's many
prospects and she jumped at the chance to prove herself against
a UMMA prospect. While Gemie was new to the scene she had
trained at the Den and was familiar to some of Dragon's
fighters. Audrey was reluctant at first not knowing a thing
about Gemie but she knew she was out of options and couldn't
turn down the tempting offer. Finding a training spot was simple
as Dragon cashed in some favors and a suitable Gym was set-up.
While Kara and Audrey weren't broke, money was becoming an issue
as Kara waited for her funds from her previous fight. She liked
the fact that she could keep all of her winnings but travel and
lodging were expensive. Sydney proved to be beautiful and
relaxing as the two Playmates looked for a place to call home
for the next few weeks. After some debate, it was decided that
the Harbour Rocks Hotel would be a compromise allowing Kara to
be close to Dragon while Audrey would be able to train with
Gemie and to surf with her newly found friends.
Training with Gemie turned out to be a Godsend for Audrey. Not
only was the busty blonde a good wrestler like Lorde, she was
also a decent striker and kept Audrey on her toes. A few rough
patches were quickly smoothed over and the two started feeling
comfortable with each other as Audrey's camp was shaping up
nicely. Even Dragon would show up to make sure everything was
going smoothly. Audrey was impressed. At first she doubted his
intentions and thought that he only wanted to get in good with
her friend but the more she got to know him, the more she liked
him.
Audrey has always been a gifted athlete lettering in track and
field and tennis in High School. She was also an outstanding
skate boarder competing in many nationwide contests. While she
enjoyed her life on the road, modeling paid the bills and being
scraped and bruised was no longer an option. Once she found
herself riding the waves, she was hooked and knew this was the
perfect alternative to skateboarding. Audrey turned out to be a
natural slicing through the crystal blue Sydney waters with
ease. Having befriended 2 world class surfers didn't hurt either
as they were more than willing to teach the bikini clad Playmate
the ins and outs of surfing. Audrey had picked up the art of
surfing so quickly that they talked into entering a local
competition. While Kara urged her to concentrate on her
training, the free spirited Audrey entered the Bondi Longboard
Invitational nonetheless.
Audrey proved that she was more than competitive and made it out
of the first round ending up solidly inside the top 10. The
always confident Audrey made a good story for the local media
and her curvy figure and bubbly personality helped grab the
headlines away from some of the veteran competitors. While she
enjoyed the spotlight, the tour regulars felt she was intruding
on their beach and nasty comments and catty remarks were
constantly being thrown her way. Surfing is a demanding sport
taking a tremendous amount of physical skill and the best
athletes often win but competing for the perfect wave is
sometimes more instrumental in the final outcome and the best
surfer isn't always the one who comes out on top. Audrey quickly
learned that catching the perfect ride was half the battle.
The Championship round had begun and Audrey found herself on the
outside looking in as her competition refused to let her catch
any waves. It was clear that she wasn't going to win but the
competitive Bunny refused to go down without a fight. With time
running out, Audrey saw the perfect wave and started a paddle
battle with Alana Blanchard and Anastasia Ashley. As the wave
grew closer it became a fight between Audrey and Alana and the
two fought back and forth jockying for the right away. Audrey
managed to pop up and take-off stealing the wave from Alana. She
started to rip when she was blind sided by local star Ellie Jean
Coffey. The two collided with tremendous impact sending both
tumbling deep beneath the giant wave. A furious Audrey regained
her senses and started making her way to the top when her
surfboard came back up and slammed into the back of her head
knocking her unconscious. As Audrey's limp body started
surfacing, Alana Blanchard saw the troubled Bunny and made her
way through the turbulent waters and pulled Audrey out of the
surf. The medical team quickly brought Audrey on board and it
was clear that she was in need of a Hospital as the rescue boat
quickly sped away.
As the medical team tended to Audrey, Alana made it to shore to
confront Ellie Jean and get to the bottom of her dirty move but
couldn't get past a group of spectators who had made a circle
around two women who were in the mists of a heated argument.
Alana pushed her way through the crowd as the two women started
going at it full force. Alana recognized one of the combatants
as surfing competitor Eliie Jean but couldn't put a name to the
face of the busty blonde. As the two women went at it it was
becoming clear that the busty blonde knew how to fight and was
clearly taking it to Eliie Jean as blood was freely flowing from
her nose. Alana saw that Eliie Jean was about to get seriously
injured and stepped in and pulled the aggressive blonde off
leaving the bloodied surfer girl with her ass buried in the
sandy beach. The busty blonde continued to struggle but Alana
had her in a bear hug and lifted up and carried her away from
the chaotic scene as Ellie's sister rushed in and held the
recovering surfer girl back.
With Ellie Jean being detained, Alana finally let go and
discovered that the busty blonde was Dragon's protege Gemie
Howe. Small fucking world thought Alana as she remembered seeing
her training at the Den. She knew Dragon had a number of
prospects around Australia and she wasn't surprised after
watching Gemie do her handy work that Dragon was somehow
involved. When pressed, Gemie admitted that she was training
with Audrey Allen and after seeing the dirty move had to
confront the cheating surfer.
Alana couldn't believe Dragon. Not only had he helped his new
blonde bimbo girlfriend get a win at Stacked, he now signed her
training partner Rachel Finch after releasing Whitney Port. To
make things worse, he was now helping the bimbo's obnoxious side
kick Audrey Allen. Hell, for all she knew, the two nu*de models
were already on the roster and she wouldn't be shocked if they
were sharing other things as well. She could no longer keep
quite on this matter and planned on immediately letting Sophia
know. Alana knew this had the potential to blow up but hopefully
Sophia could be the one to knock some sense into Dragon and put
an end to this out of control 3 ringed circus. Kara and her
trouble making friend needed to go and the sooner the better.
Kara was already waiting for Audrey as the Ambulance made it's
way into the St. Vincent's emergency room. She was happy to see
that Audrey was able to walk in on her own feet and gently went
up to greet her friend.
Kara: "Auds, are you OK?"
Audrey: "It was horrible, just horrible!"
Kara: "I heard you had a collision and got knocked out?"
Audrey: "Collision? Knocked out? I got attacked by a Great
White! It bit my surfboard in half and just missed slicing my
foot off!"
Kara's jaw dropped as her eyes opened wide.
Kara: "OMG! A shark attack!"
Audrey: "Nah, I'm just fuc*king with ya. You were right. Some
big mouthed bit*ch blind sided me and took me out. As soon as I
get out of here I'm going back there and kick her ass. Wanna
come and watch?"
Kara: "Audrey! You're in no condition to fight. You need to get
some rest."
Audrey: "OK, then you go kick her ass and I'll watch."
Kara was pushed out of the way as the color slowly came back to
her face. She felt better seeing Audrey in a joking mood and
watched as they ushered her away for an MRI. She patiently
waited for the results as she passed the time away flipping
through 6 month old magazines and watching some strange show
about a boy mermaid. Odd show, maybe if she saw the pilot it
would make more sense. She located the remote and found a local
news channel and was shocked that they were covering the Bondi
Longboard Invitational. Kara turned up the sound as the footage
of Audrey being cut off was being shown in slow motion. She
couldn't believe that the local sports team was giving their
surfer a pass. That dirty little bit*ch thought Kara. No wonder
Audrey was so upset. She slightly felt better when they cut to a
scene of the surfer girl getting her ass handed to her. She
couldn't wait to show Audrey, maybe this way she could be talked
out of hunting her down and beating her silly. Kara jumped to
her feet when Dragon came in. She ran to him and gave him a big
embrace.
Dragon: "I got your text. How's she doing?"
Kara: "I'm not sure. They took her in about an hour ago."
Dragon: "That's scary. The waves are really big today.
Kara: "I knew I should have talked her out of it."
The two sat next to each other until Audrey came out.
Audrey: "Want to see the lump on my head?"
Kara: "We're not supposed to touch it. Are we?"
Audrey: "Quit being a baby, look, it's about half the size it
was earlier."
Kara: I think you better leave it alone. What did the Doctor
say?"
Audrey: "He said I had a concussion and shouldn't have any
physical contact until I come back and get cleared."
Kara: "How long will that be?"
Audrey: "He said to come back in a week and he'll see."
Kara: "Bad to the Bone is less than 4 weeks away! You're not
going to have the proper time to train."
Audrey: "I'll be fine. I'm fighting Danni King. I can take her
no problem."
Kara: "Audrey, you fought Danni over 3 months ago, you're facing
Lorde from Amped."
Audrey: "Lord? Is he Royalty? Never heard of him."
Kara: "I think you need to lay down for awhile."

Excellent... a new chapter. I was starting to worry. :-\
Geez, Dragon just can't catch a break. What were the odds that
Audrey would be into surfing and therefore run across Alana?
And what is with these women? Does Dragon have them planted all
over Australia, or what?
Another fun chapter. I can't wait to see where this is headed.
But, most of all, I still can't wait for Sophia to outright hand
Dragon his head. I know I shouldn't be rooting for that, but I
can't help it. :P

THE MEETING 24 - Settling the Score
Kara was fed up. She had enough and was tired of being pushed
around. Everywhere she and Audrey went, they were getting into
fights and making enemies. Sophia Bush had gotten between her
and Dragon and now had his ear. Alison Waite had taken her
Stable after she underhandidly stole it from underneath her.
Audrey got into a nasty fight with Briana Evigan and now was
taken out at a surfing event by Sydney's surfing sensation Ellie
Coffey. The dirty move left Audrey with a concussion and could
have ended horribly if Alana Blanchard wasn't there to pull
Audrey out of the surf. While Ellie got roughed around by
Audrey's training partner Gemie Howe, she apparently hadn't
learned her lesson and went to Twitter saying that the blonde
Playmate had no reason being here and if she dared to show her
face on her beach she and her sisters were going to send her
packing back to the States. The incident was getting a ton of
play on the local stations and the biased Sydney media spun
Ellie's move as a surfing accident stating that neither was to
blame.
Kara was unsuccessful in her attempt to reach Dragon and the
frustrated blonde headed to the Hotel gym looking to take it out
on some poor punching bag. She had worked up a good sweat and
was over an hour into her workout and when she got a call from
former teammate Jayde Nicole. How odd thought Kara. She couldn't
remember the last time she talked to Jayde. She had only
received a few tweets and texts since leaving the Bunnies and
Jayde was never one to call. An out of breath Kara quickly
toweled off and walked to a quiet corner.
Kara: "Jayde, how you doing babe?"
Jayde: "Things suck @ss around here. When you coming back?"
Kara: "I'm not sure that's happening anytime soon but I haven't
given up."
Jayde: "You better not or I'll have to strangle Alison myself.
She driving everyone crazy with her micro-managing."
Kara: "What's up with you? You got Florence coming up, you ready
for her?"
Jayde: "Yeah, it won't be easy but I'm ready. OK, what's this
crap with those surfer girls?"
Kara: "You're calling about them?
Jayde: "Yeah, what's their deal?"
Kara: "I don't know, one of them cut off Audrey at a surfing
event and gave her a concussion."
Jayde: "Their poppin off about you and Auds."
Kara: "I heard they're saying they didn't do anything wrong but
who cares, their just a bunch of little sh*ts."
Jayde: "No no no, not that. They posted a picture of them in
Bunny ears and said you and Audrey should hop along home with
your tails between you legs."
Kara: "Seriously! Bunny Ears?"
Jayde: "I wouldn't have called you but you can't let them get
away with this. You might not be a Bad Ass Bunny at the moment
but you're still a Playmate. You have to go down there and teach
them that f*cking with the Bunnies has serious consequences."
Kara: "This is the last thing I need right now. I'm trying to
deal with Sophia at the moment."
Jayde: "I thought you were done with her, aren't you and Dragon
an item?"
Kara: "I thought we were. Sophia is doing her best to get in
between us. I don't know what she said to him but he won't
return my calls and cancelled our dinner plans."
Jayde: "Don't let her get away that Kara. She's just jealous of
you."
Kara: "I know that but she won't go away."
Jayde: "It's obvious Sophia has a thing for him but you're HIS
f*cking girlfriend. Tell her to go and find her own man. You
have to straighten Dragon out and tell that meddling little
b*tch to back the f*ck off. Then you can go and teach surfer
girl a lesson."
Kara: "As much as I'd love to hold both of their heads under the
surf I can't do it! You don't know how much Dragon has helped
us, I can't let him down.
Jayde: "Don't wuss out on us Kara. Sounds like she could have
killed Audrey! You need to bury the little sh*t's face in the
sand and stomp on her @ss."
Kara: "You're going to have to do it. I promised Dragon..."
Jayde: "You promise him what?"
Kara: "That I wouldn't go and get into fights anymore."
Jayde: "Why the hell would he care about that? You fight for a
living."
Kara: "He doesn't want me to be a distraction anymore."
Jayde: "Kara, you're your own woman. Nobody can tell you what to
do."
Kara: "I know that Jayde but he put his reputation on the line
for us and that's the least I can do for him."
Jayde: "Whatever, but you can't just sit back and let Sophia
bully you around. If you want Dragon then you're going to have
to fight for him."
Kara: "I can't get in a fight with her Jayde. I just can't."
Jayde: "You're not afraid of her are you? I can challenge her at
Open Fight Night, kick her ass in front of everyone if you
want."
Kara: "No, I can handle Sophia, you don't have to do that. I
think I need to change tactics and maybe try and reason with
her. Butting heads with her is going nowhere. Maybe if I can get
her alone we can come to an understanding."
Jayde: "Don't be stupid, she's not just going to roll over and
let you have Dragon. Not without a fight."
Kara: "She made the same promise as I did. She could lose her
job if she attacked me."
Jayde: "Then use it to your advantage. She seem like a hot head,
maybe you can push her over the edge."
Kara: "I've tried that many times. That's not me anymore. Being
vindictive hasn't worked out for me has it."
Jayde: "Do what you have to but I think the old Kara wouldn't
let herself get run over like this."
Kara: "Thanks for the concern but I've got to go and find Audrey
before she does something stupid."
Jayde: "Tell Auds I say hi and have her go kick Lorde's @ss. I
really wish I could help you but if Alison knew I was talking to
you I'd be in deep sh*t."
Kara: "Hang in there Jayde, Worry about Florence. I'll be
ringside cheering you on. I'll take care of the Coffey girls
before I leave Sydney."
Jayde: "You hang in there Kare Bear, just don't get arrrested."
Kara: "I don't plan on it."
Kara finished her workout the whole time thinking about how
things had gone awry yet again. Just what had Sophia told
Dragon. She wouldn't put anything past the jealous brunette and
now that she had Dragon's attention, she would surely say
anything to keep it that way. Kara knew the longer this went on,
the more Sophia would dig her claws into Dragon and do her best
to push them apart. What gave Sophia the right to meddle in her
business, anyway. She beat her out for Dragon's affections and
as far as she was concerned, Sophia should have rolled over and
left the two of them alone. Kara wasn't about to stand by and do
nothing but she remembered her promise to Dragon and as much as
she wanted to have another go with Sophia she wasn't doing that
again. She had to think of a way to meet with Dragon and tell
him her side of the story whatever that may be.
Maybe this is what Dragon wanted afterall, seeing his girlfriend
and his stable leader duke it out for his
affections. While Sophia may have gotten the better of her in
her office, she had her chances to win and convinced herself
that it would be much closer the next time the two sirens met.
This would be for Dragon and there was no way in hell that
Sophia was winning.
Kara knew she had to meet Dragon and undo what ever his coniving
Stable Leader had done. Kara had to see him. While she made a
lot of enemies at the Den, she felt that her relationship with
Rachel Finch could at least give her a reason to be at
Honorbound. She would watch Rachel pound some rookie into
oblivion and then follow her to the locker room and hopefully
have a chance to clear tthe air with Dragon.
Rachel's match was less than an hour away when Kara made it to
the Allphones Arena. She knew that it would be sold out and the
only way to gain access was to find a ticket scalper. Normally
good seats would go anywhere from $250-500 but tickets tonight
were getting double that. Kara reluctantly dished out the money
and made her way down to the cage. Her timing was perfect as no
sooner than she found her seat the announcer was introducing
Rachel. Kara got up and cheered her friend but noticed that
Rachel's nerves were getting the better of her and she fidgeted
around and looked tense. She only wished she could be ringside,
there she could help compose her newly found friend. Kara
watched helplessly as the match got under way. Rachel's opponent
was Alicia Fox, another rookie from the Vixen's. This was the
first time either of them had been in the cage and it brought
back memories of Kara's first fight against Emily Blunt. A
memory Kara tried over and over to forget. At least Rachel woud
be better prepared and would last more than 29 seconds before
being embarrasingly dropped to the mat by her opponents first
and only punch. Hopefully Rachel would quickly take care of
business and she could smooth things over with Dragon.
Rachel looked impressive but struggled against Alicia. The fight
was a defensive battle that went to decision with Rachel coming
out on top. Kara met Rachel on the way to her changing room and
the two grabbed each other in a big hug.
Kara: "Congrats on your win. You looked great in there."
Rachael: “Thanks love. I was a little lucky. Nice to see you
though, and nice to have the support.”
Kara: "You got a tough draw tonight. Alicia is good, really
elusive."
Rachael: "Yeah, she’s a freak on defence. Not that much offense
to her, but trying to hit her is almost impossible.”
The two continued celebrating Rachael's victory as they made
their way to the locker room.
Kara: "You seen Dragon around?"
Rachael: "Nope. You'd know better than I would. Why, what's up?"
Kara: “He's been hard to find lately.”
Rachael: “Dragon's been really busy getting everybody ready.
This is a big card for us.”
The two finally made their way to the locker room as Rachael
stepped in front of Kara and opened the door letting her in.
Rachael: “Age before grace. After you love.”
Kara grinned at Rachael and walked into the steamy room only to
come face to face with Sophia. The Den stable leader’s eyes
rolled instantly.
Sophia: "Oh, f*ck me, what are you doing here?”
Kara stopped in her tracks almost paralyzed as the two hated
rivals stood inches from each other. The last time the two met
they were in the Hotel lobby in Sydney after Kara spent her
infamous night with Dragon. Kara knew full well that the
possibility of Sophia cutting her off before she could see
Dragon was a distinct possibility but now she was somehow
unprepared for the confrontation and at a loss for words.
Sophia: “Hello? What's your problem dizz?”
Kara: "Where, where's Dragon?"
Sophia: "I don't know, he's busy. It IS fight night. What's it
to you, anyway?"
Kara: "Whether you like it or not, we're seeing each other. I
need to know why he's been avoiding me. Just what did you say to
him anyway?"
Sophia: "I said nothing, b*tch. Maybe he finally saw through
your bullsh*t. I know you're only using him because you don't
have a stable of your own. Well, you can't have this one."
Kara's felt her fists clench tight as her body prepared itself
for another round with Sophia while Racheal and a few of her
teammates started forming a circle around them.
Kara: "I know you're behind this. You've been jealous of me from
the beginning. You need to leave us the f*ck alone or you'll be
sorry!"
Sophia: "Jealous?! Of you?? You've got to be kidding! I've had
enough of you, if you don't watch yourself YOU'LL be really
sorry."
Sophia's face burned in anger and hatred for Kara and she felt
her entire body tense.
Rachael squeezed between them creating some distance between the
two wild cats.
Rachael: “Come on you two. Save it for the cage. This is no
place for a couple of adults to get into a scrap.”
Sophia: “Back off Rachael. All of you get away. She's not going
anywhere but back through that door. This won't take long
anyways.”
Kara: "Listen b*tch! You're either going to tell me where Dragon
is or am I going to have to kick your flabby @ss in front of
your stable. Your choice, what's it going to be?"
Sophia: "MY flabby @ss?! Looked in a mirror lately, chunky? I'll
bet that's the reason the Bunnies sent you packing. No room on
the Superheavyweight roster, was there?"
The pair glared at each other, and Sophia couldn't help but push
her agenda.
Sophia: "Wait... why WAS it that you got fired?"
Kara: "Nice try. Dragon likes my @ss just fine. Last chance to
tell me where he is before my so called chunky @ss sits on your
ugly face."
Sophia was visibly boiling over. Kara had gotten to her, and she
could feel the rage surfacing. Both women stood glaring at the
other, fists clenched tightly, nostrils flaring, breath exhaling
sharply.
Sophia: "You really think you can go through me? Just try it,
sk@nk. I'm not putting up with your sh*t ANY longer."
Kara couldn't take any more as Sophia had finally pushed her
over the edge. The meddling brunette had gotten in her way for
the last time and the miserable **** was going to pay once and
for all. Kara knew that if Dragon found out it would probably be
the end of them but having Sophia standing in her way with that
God damned smirk on her face was more than she could take. Kara
lunged at Sophia and grabbed a hand full of hair with her left
hand while she started throwing rights into the side of Sophia's
face.
Kara: “He's mine and you can't have him!”
Despite Sophia's apparent willingness to go head to head with
Kara, she seemed momentarily shocked by the blonde's all-out
aggressiveness. With a cry of more surprise than pain, Sophia's
hands came up, but too late, and she took several good hard
shots to the face before she was able to mount any defence.
The shock may have been compounded by Kara's apparent
battle-cry, and she realized suddenly in that moment just how
serious Kara was about this whole Dragon thing. Sophia
eventually managed to wrap her hands in blonde hair and pull her
rival into a clinch of sorts, closing the distance as much as
possible to shield her stinging face. Then, with a primal scream
of her own, she started slamming knees up into Kara's fit
midriff.
Kara felt Sophia's knees drive deeply into her abs as she felt
the air being driven from her lungs. She knew she had to do
something quickly as she couldn't breath and started to panic.
She let go of Sophia's hair and wrapped her arms around her
chest and pulled her in tight trapping her in a bearhug. Kara
managed to take in a quick breath but Sophia's wasn't about to
stop her assault as she switched targets and started driving
knees into Kara thighs. Kara lifted Sophia off the ground and
twisted her hips slamming the brunette into the hard concrete.
With a loud smack and a grunt, Sophia was sprawled out on the
concrete floor, her eyes moments ago full of fire now flickering
as she coughed lightly and reached a hand to her aching back.
She seemed to want to roll up off the floor, but the wind had
clearly been knocked out of her for at least a moment.
Kara was still struggling to breath as she rolled away. She made
it to her hands and knees when Sophia grabbed a hand full of her
long blonde hair and started pulling her towards the door
dragging her across the cold floor as Sophia's teammates
scrambled to get out of the way. Kara's body was flailing about
as her hands reached up and locked themselves around Sophia's
wrists trying to keep her hair from being pulled out by the
roots. Kara tried to pull free from her tormentor but the
determined brunette was pulling hard intent on throwing Kara out
into the hallway.
Sophia: “Get the door, Bri. Time to take out the trash!”
Just as Briana Evigan got the door open, Kara made it to her
feet and managed to push Sophia up against the wall. A well
placed knee of her own elicited a moan when it landed on
Sophia's hip. Sophia's eyes flickered as they noticed Kara's
right fist come up, hunting for brunette head and face, but in a
flash, the two were suddenly torn apart.
Rachael Finch had her arms around Kara, immobilising her and
dragging her clear of her rival while Briana launched herself
between the two hellcats.
And that's when Dragon appeared in the doorway.
Dragon: "What in the absolute f*ck is going on?"
Everyone in the room froze, as if 'pause' had just been hit on
the remote.
His eyes crawled between Kara and Sophia and the women
separating them. He did not look impressed.
Dragon: "Well?"
Sophia meekly looked away and said nothing. Briana hadn't
flinched once and remained staring straight at Kara, as if
awaiting any signs of movement. Rachael slowly eased her grip on
the no-longer struggling Kara and eventually had let go
completely.
Rachael: "Just a mis-understanding, boss. We'll have it cleared
up."
Dragon: "Like hell you will."
Dragon glanced over the women that filled his stable's locker
room.
Dragon: "Give us a minute, will you?"
Everyone in the room scrambled to move their way past Dragon and
out of the door, giving various looks to the brawling women on
the way.
Dragon: "Bri, Rach, you too."
Briana and Rachael slowly left their posts and headed on out of
the door as well, closing it behind them and leaving Dragon,
Sophia and Kara to address this 'mis-understanding'.
Dragon: "You two are f*cking idiots."
They both suddenly looked away from each other and met his gaze
sadly.
Dragon: "Two of the most prominent models of leadership in the
entire UMMA and you're acting like schoolgirls. I'm not
impressed, and sadly I've no damn idea what to do with either of
you. So? What have you got to say for yourselves?"
Sophia: "You know what I think. She's only here as a distraction
to you. Look at what's happened since she got you under her
thumb. We lost one of our titles, for the first time EVER. And
to who? A f*cking Bunny!"
Dragon seemed to consider it, but gave no reaction that
suggested whether or not he believed it. He simply let his gaze
drift to Kara, a concerned look on his face as he prepared to
hear her side of things.
Kara: “Seriously Sophia. That was between Olga and Joanna. They
are both veterans and the outcome had little to do with either
of us. You're just being paranoid again.”
Sophia: "Paranoid?? Every move you've made has been to distract
Dragon and ensure he plays no part in making this stable work.
You know DAMN well what you've been doing. And I'm sorry,
Dragon, but I'm not going to let this stable go to the ground
just because of some harlot!"
Kara: "I've never tried to sabotage you or your stable. She's
absolutely lost it. Every move she's made was to get rid of me.
First off she had me assaulted when I went and visited the Den
and then she attacked me in MY office."
Sophia: "And why do you think I was trying to get rid of you,
Kara? Because I KNOW what you're up to! I have to protect my
stable when Dragon is hypnotised and can't tell the difference
between friend and foe!"
Kara: "So now it's YOUR stable? Dragon knows what he's doing and
did just fine before YOU got here. You're not giving him any
credit. You think it's all about you."
Sophia: "Well it's certainly not YOUR stable!"
The argument was heating up again and both women were edging
closer without even noticing. Dragon finally stepped between the
two and raised his hands in surrender.
Dragon: "Okay, okay, cool it. Both of you. This is not
productive."
Sophia: "What IS productive? F*cking the enemy?"
Kara fought off the urge to lock her hands in Sophia's trusses
and slam her head into the wall.

Kara: “Why is this any of your f*cking business anyway? We're
both adults! You're treating Dragon like he's a 14 year old and
can't control himself.”
Sophia: "It's my business, because the stable is suffering! And
if the stable is suffering with you two running around together
ignoring the important issues, it becomes my problem to pick up
the slack and make sure everything works. So... it is damn well
my business!"
Dragon: "Nothing is being ignored. The stable is running fine."
Sophia: "If the stable is running, it's because I'm putting in
all the hours that you aren't while blondie here has you
training fighters that aren't even part of the stable."
Kara: “OMG! Quit blaming Dragon! It's his job as a Stable OWNER
to have a steady pool of talent ready at a moments notice. It's
your job help train them and get them ready. Rachael turned out
pretty good after all.”
Sophia: "Oh sure, you mean talent like you and Audrey?"
Kara: "He's just helping us out. It's not like he's giving us
you and Bri's jobs."
Kara looked at Dragon and shrugged her shoulders giving him a
what if look hoping to get a rise out of Sophia.
And that was it. Kara had struck the perfect nerve. With a
scream somewhere between frustration and hatred, Sophia stormed
towards the door.
Sophia: "Dragon, I'm not gonna take this! She's a manipulative
b*tch. You see that? She WANTS me gone. And you're okay with
this??"
Dragon: "Of course not..."
Sophia: "Then DO something about it! Or I will be!"
Sophia slammed the door behind her, leaving Dragon watching the
door, a seriously contemplative look on his face.
Kara knew she had to choose her next words wisely. Bad mouthing
Sophia while she wasn't there to defend herself would make her
look vindictive.
Kara: "Let her go, Dragon. She'll be OK in a bit. She just needs
to cool down for a while. Now, we've still got a couple of
matches left, let's get them back in here and get them ready for
their fights."
Dragon turned slowly to face Kara. He looked tired, almost
defeated.
Dragon: "Sh*t, you're right. We better get them back in."

THE MEETING 25 – A Cluster F*ck
Kara was not proud of herself as she left the Allphones Arena.
She had mixed feelings after yet another brawl with her despised
nemesis Sophia Bush. The rivalry between the two UMMA Stable
Leaders had gotten to the point where the two of them can't even
make it 2 minutes together without throwing down. This time the
catfight took place during Honorbound in front of Sophia's
stable and was eventually broke up by a visibly disappointed
Dragon. Kara held her own physically in the brief locker room
skirmish but in the end it was Sophia who made a hasty exit
leaving Kara feeling like she had finally gotten the upper hand.
With Sophia momentarily out of the picture, Kara quickly took
advantage and started assuming Sophia's role as Stable Leader
while her and Dragon prepared the final two fighters for the
matches.
The first of the Den's fights would see Julianna Guill fight
Vassago's always competitive Michelle Keegan. Kara had a sinking
feeling after watching Julianna get dominated in the first round
that the fight might not end well for the Heavyweight. The
feeling only got worse when she crumpled to the mat just 21
seconds into the 2nd round. Julianna was clearly affected by the
catfight and if everything were normal it should have been a
close match. Kara knew when Sophia finally made her way back
that she would undoubtedly spin it so Kara took the blame for
the loss even though they both were responsible for disrupting
the remaining fighter's preparation. Luckily, Blanca Suarez was
able overcome the chaos and KO Adele on the Den's final fight of
the night.
While Kara and Dragon were on good terms again, Kara knew her
rival well enough to know that she wasn't about to roll over and
that she was already in the process of planning her next move.
The quicker she acted, the harder it would be for Sophia to come
back and get between her and Dragon. Kara would lean on new
Dragon's Den rookie Rachel Finch for support. Even though
Rachael was new, she was still a member of the Den and Kara knew
she could use all the help she could get. She would also have to
keep close tabs on the pesky Briana Evigan. With Sophia
temporarily out of the picture, Briana would be keeping her in
the loop and reporting on each and every one of Kara's moves.
Deep down she knew she would have to deal with Briana one way or
another whether Sophia was in the picture or not. Kara felt that
once she drove Sophia away for good, Bri would shortly follow
her friend. If not, she was prepared to do whatever was
necessary and if it came down to a duking it out with the
talented Featherweight, then she would cross that path at a
later date.
Kara had to focus her attention on Audrey Allen's fight with
Lorde. She had an uneasy feeling going into Bad to the Bone as
Audrey's training started out weeks behind schedule and her
concussion from a surfing accident put her in a really bad
position. Lorde's impressive 5-2 record had everyone worried as
she has been tearing it up with a nice balance of striking and a
powerful ground game. The demure Lorde even went as far as
submitting her teammate Florence Welch by a humiliating face
sit. There was no doubt that Audrey had her work cut out for her
even though the positive Allen did her best to assure everyone
that she had it under control and Lorde wouldn't pose a threat.
Kara and her trainers knew better and were very anxious.
Audrey finally passed the strict UMMA concussion protocol and
began training in earnest but with only 1 week left, many things
would have to be skirted over or missed entirely. Kara wasn't
alone with her concerns. Training partner Gemie Howe shared a
similar view in that Audrey just wasn’t ready and the longer the
fight went, the more her lack of conditioning would hurt her.
Dragon stopped by with some helpful pointers and even the Den's
submission specialist Susan Ward was able to go over some
crucial ground work.
Kara's life had finally started to calm down with Sophia on the
outs. She had just finished another wonderful date with Dragon
and made her way to the Brisbane Marriott Hotel fully expecting
to find Audrey safely in her room recovering from another
intense day of training. When she arrived, Audrey was nowhere to
be found. Kara immediately called her friend but her phone went
directly to voicemail and her texts went unanswered. She knew
that Audrey did this intentionally as she couldn't ever remember
seeing her without her phone in her hands. Finding Audrey in a
strange city would be futile and she would have no choice but to
wait for her to come back.
Kara was taking a relaxing bath when she decided to turn on the
Tele and catch up on some news. A few minute in and she had to
do a double take as the Women's Pro Surfing Tour was in town and
the local sports reporter was interviewing Sydney surfing
sensation Ellie Coffee at a local Tavern. “F*CK!” shouted Kara
as she quickly got out of the bath and dried her dripping wet
body. She knew exactly where Audrey was and what she would be
doing. The sooner she made her way to the bar, the sooner she
could help her friend but Kara had no idea where she would be
heading and had to wait for the segment to end.
The South Bank Surf Club was on the Brisbane River and not far
from the Brisbane Marriott Hotel. Kara was in such a hurry to
help her friend that she forgot to put on a bra and noticed that
the cool night breeze coming through her windows had her nipples
poking through her thin t-shirt. Whatever she thought as it was
dark and nobody would notice. She couldn't have been more wrong
as the thin material was hugging her still damp chest giving the
Marriott workers and Guests a detailed view of her ample
cleavage. The rude stares went unnoticed as she made her way to
find a cab. Before she knew it, the cab pulled up to the Surf
Club. The driver was instructed to wait while she went in to
find her friend. He asked for money but Kara just gave him a
pouty look and pressed her cleavage together and he nodded for
her to go.
The Club was crowded and the music was blaring from some group
called Band of Frequencies. Kara only hoped she wasn't too late
as finding her friend in this ever moving crowd wouldn't be
easy. In her hast, she noticed that she forgot to bring her
purse or her phone and felt even more naked than she already
was. She searched in vain and was about to give up when she
spotted a familiar face. Ellie Coffee, the Sydney surfer who
knocked Audrey off her board and nearly drowned her, was dancing
with some friends. Kara kept an eye on Ellie while continuing to
look for Audrey. She tried getting close to her but had to get
away as she kept getting offered drinks and bumped into by other
dancers. With Audrey nowhere to be seen, Kara turned around and
was making her way back to the cab when out of nowhere Ellie
stepped in front of her stopping her in her tracks. Kara's heart
started racing and her adrenaline started flowing.
Ellie: “I saw you staring at me. If you want an autograph all
you have to do is ask.”
Kara: “Ummmm, no. Sorry. I was just looking for a friend.”
Ellie paused and tilted her head while looking Kara over. She
studied the half-dressed Playmate up and down trying to put a
name to a face.
Ellie: “Hey! Wait a minute. I know who you are. You're the
friend of that Playboy wrestler who thinks she can surf.”
Kara: “I'm just looking for Audrey, I'm not looking for any
trouble.”
Ellie: “Trouble? Why would you be in trouble?”
Kara: “Because of the tweets where you dressed like Bunnies and
said you'd kick our ass. That's why.”
Ellie: “Oh yeah, that was funny. Trust me, your little friend
isn't here. If I saw her I'd have already thrown her ass out.”
Kara: “I'm not looking for trouble, I just need to find her and
get back to the Hotel.”
Ellie: “OMG! You thought she was coming down here to beat me up
and you were trying to stop her, weren't you?”
Kara: “Nobody wants to beat anybody up.”
Kara turned to leave but Ellie grabbed her arm and roughly spun
her around.
Kara: “Hands off b*tch!"
Ellie: “You Playmates really think you're hot sh*t don't you.
You come down here looking like a cheap wh*re and think you're
going to take me on in front of my family and friends?”
A crowd was gathering around as Ellie pressed up into Kara's
face and started poking her in the chest. Kara knew she had to
get away but Ellie wasn't giving her an out.”
Kara: “I was just looking for Audrey. I'll be on my way.”
Ellie: “You're not going anywhere b*tch, maybe to the ER. Meet
me out back, we're not doing this in here.”
Ellie pointed to the back door and proceeded with her entourage
in tow. Kara felt alone and knew that she could take the brash
surfer but also knew that her friends would be there and it
probably wouldn't be a fair fight. She had to end it quickly and
decisively and make a speedy exit. Kara cursed herself for not
at least putting on some decent clothes. A loose t-shirt and
some thin elastic yoga shorts were the worst fight attire she
could think of. Kara also knew that she'd have to let Ellie
throw the first punch. That way she could always claim that she
was defending herself in case the authorities were to get
involved.
Kara made her way out the back door and saw that Ellie was
waiting for her in what looked like a Beach Volleyball pit.
Ellie had her shoes off and was throwing phantom left and rights
while she chirped something in Kara's direction. Kara prepared
herself for the fight. She took her shirt and stretched out the
front tying it into a ball under her chest tightening the sheer
material and hopefully keeping it from being ripped off.
Ellie: “Come on dumb Bunny. Quit stalling.”
Kara: “We don't have to do this. I don't want to hurt you.”
Ellie: “Hurt me? You're going to hurt me?”
Ellie and her friends started laughing as they started cheering
her on.
“Come on Ellie Jean, beat Grandma back to the States.”
Ellie: “You UMMA girls are a bunch of washed up old hags that
are too old to get any real modeling jobs. The only reason you
have fans is that they want to see someone get hit in the t*ts.”
Kara shook her head as the two glared daggers towards each
other. They started circling around loosening their tight
muscles knowing that in an instant they could be tearing each
other apart. The cold damp sand between her toes made Kara feel
uneasy. She feared that it would slow her down and even out the
fight not letting her use her speed to her advantage. The small
crowd had grown quit large and Kara started to get a feeling
something bad was about to happen.
Ellie: “Take a swing b*tch. Give me a reason to kick your ass.”
Kara: “You first, it will be the only chance you get.”
Ellie moved forward and threw a wild roundhouse that Kara easily
ducked. Kara countered with two quick punches to the ribs and a
knee that landed on Ellie's chin. The Sydney surfer found
herself lying flat on her back as she tried to figure out what
just happened. Ellie rolled on her hands and knees and tried to
get up when Kara placed her foot on her butt and pushed sending
her face first in the sand. Ellie rolled away and made it to her
feet as her friends cheered her on. A couple of quick jabs
snapped back Ellie’s head but she remained on her feet and moved
towards Kara. At least she can take a punch thought Kara.
Kara: “Nobody will blame you if you walk away.”
Ellie: “Bite me you old bag!”
Ellie screamed and charged towards Kara throwing wild haymakers.
Kara side-stepped the attack and gave Coffee a shove as she went
by, sending her tumbling to the beach again. Ellie wiped the
sand from her body and decided to take a different approach. She
put her fists up and squared off with Kara looking to slug it
out.
Kara: “We can end this now before you really get hurt.”
Ellie: “Eat me you stuck up b*tch. It's getting a little late
for you to be out.”
Ellie launched a nice right cross that just missed Kara's chin
hitting her in the shoulder instead. Another jab came up short
allowing Kara to land a crushing hook to the belly driving the
air out of Ellie's lungs. Ellie hands immediately went to her
sore stomach leaving herself wide open for another attack. An
uppercut to the nose sent her back down leaving her planted on
her ass as her eyes rolled around in her head. Ellie slowly got
up and wiped the blood from her nose. She looked unsure if she
wanted to continue but pressed forward not wanting to disappoint
the crowd. Kara ducked a desperate right cross and threw her leg
out sweeping Ellie off her feet. With a dazed Ellie on her back,
Kara dropped a knee right into her belly folding her in two
leaving her with her hands covering her abs while she moaned in
agony.
Kara: “We're done here.”
Ellie: “Unghhh..... Leave me...alone!”
Kara stood at Ellie's side keeping a sharp eye on the battered
surfer girl. Ellie slowly composed herself and wiped the tears
that were forming in her eyes. She raised a hand towards Kara
looking remorseful.
Kara: “I tried to warn you.”
Ellie: “I'm sorry but....”
Kara bent over and offered a hand to the beaten Aussie when
Ellie grabbed a hand full of sand throwing it in Kara's face
temporarily blinding her. A shocked Kara turned away falling to
her knees desperately trying to see when she was lifted up by
the hair and thrown back down. Ellie started kicking and
stomping on Kara's flailing body as her friends started
cheering. Big shots were landing and Kara wasn't able to get
away. Kara's hands were covering her face while she tried
rolling away still not able to see clearly when Ellie dove and
sprawled herself on top of her. She grabbed two hands full of
blonde hair and started violently shaking Kara's head from side
to side. Kara was in trouble but was able to tie Ellie up while
her burning eyes started to clear. Ellie was throwing wild
punches but Kara was able to keep her close and deflect the
blows while the Aussie teen was quickly running out of steam.
She managed to position herself behind Ellie and pinned her face
down in the sand roughly pushing on the back of her head. Kara
twisted Ellie's left arm behind her back and started cranking it
up towards the back of her head. A couple of slaps to the side
of Ellie's face and a quick pull of her hair and Ellie was done
and started sobbing.
Ellie: “Enough, get the f*ck off me! I give! I give!”
Kara let go of Ellie's arm and stood beside the beaten surfer
girl. She started to walk away as her friends went to aid the
blubbering Aussie. Kara turned and was putting some much needed
distance between them when she was jumped from behind. She
instinctively bent at the hip and flipped her attacker over and
in one motion mounted her and started raining down punches into
her face. She lifted her by the hair and bent her back over her
knee and started landing elbows into her opponent’s stomach and
chest. Kara pushed her off her knee and was about to make a
hasty retreat when she was subdued and pulled away.
Kara was roughly led out of the Club by a couple of Ellie's
friends. One had a firm grip on her hair while the other was
pulling on her now ripped t-shirt.
Kara: “Let me f*cking go! I'm leaving!”
Kara was released and given a big shove sending her into a
parked car setting off a car alarm. She glared back at the two
women but thought the better of it and started looking for her
cab when a Police car pulled up with their lights flashing.
“That's her officer” shouted one of the women. “She's the one
who attacked our friends.”
Before Kara knew what was happening, two of Brisbane's finest
jumped out of their car and intercepted her. In a matter of
seconds, they had her subdued and in hand cuffs. It wasn’t hard,
considering she was just standing there with her mouth hanging
half-open. The taller of the two officer's then pushed her
against the car and proceeded to pat her down.
Officer: “Any weapons or illegal drugs on you ma'am?”
Kara: “No sir.”
Despite her dazed state, Kara still had the presence of mind to
recognize how that was a stupid question since she was barely
dressed.
As the search continued, she noticed the officer’s hands
starting to get a little personal.
Kara: “Hey! I obviously don't have anything on me, especially
there!”
Tall Officer: “Just doing my job ma'am, Stay still.”
He finished the check and, without as much as another word, Kara
was put in the back of the patrol car, just as a second car
arrived and two additional officers joined the fray. After a
quick consultation within the law enforcement group, the duties
were divided up. The late arrivals stayed in the parking lot and
kept an eye on Kara while the original pair went into the club.
Then, from Kara’s limited perspective, absolutely nothing
happened for nearly an hour. Just when she thought she was going
to lose her mind, the officers emerged.
Before she could ask a single question they got back in the car
and drove off with Kara still in the back seat. At first, she
was silent… too stunned to even form coherent thoughts. Once the
gears finally did start to turn, the questions flew rapid-fire.
What is this? What the hell is going on? Where are you taking
me?
As each question was met with the same stony silence, Kara
became more and more frantic. She stopped talking as she sank
into panic – the world going by in a blur until her brain picked
up on the familiar pattern of stucco walls and nuanced lighting.
Her hotel! Seeing her chance to set the record straight, she
pleaded with the officers to stop so she could get her ID and
passport.
Kara: “There's my Hotel, the Marriott. I'm in room 502. Just let
me go there. Please! I won't be long.”
The two officers shared a quick look, but neither responded to
Kara's requests. It seemed they had no interest in what she had
to say. Soon, they arrived at their destination and Kara was
whisked from the car and in through the back door of the
station. Still, no one spoke to her as she was unceremoniously
dumped at the front counter and forced to wait while a few
clearly inebriated individuals were processed. Once the last of
the drunks were handled, she found herself face to face with a
grumpy looking middle-aged woman. Resting on top of the counter
was a shiny gold nameplate that said her name was Grace.
Grace: “Name?”
Kara: “I'm Kara.”
Grace slowly rolled her eyes until they met Kara giving her an I
can't believe you just said that look.
Grace: “Last name, first name followed by your middle initial.”
Kara: “Monaco, Kara, A.”
Grace: “Date of birth?”
Kara: “February, 26th 1983.”
Grace: “Driver’s License or ID?”
Kara: “It's back at the Marriott with my passport, I tried to
tell the off...”
Grace: “You mean to tell me that you're walking around Brisbane
at night without any form of identification?
Kara: “It's in the Hotel room, let me call my boyfriend, he can
vouch for me.”
Grace: “We got us a 318.”
Another officer quickly came and escorted Kara to a small room
with a chair, a small table and what appeared to be a one way
mirror. He left her in there for what seemed like an eternity.
Kara mind was racing as she tried to hash out what just happened
when a female officer entered. Kara sat up straight as the woman
introduced herself as Detective Nguyen.
Detective Nguyen: “So it's Kara, right?”
Kara: “Yes. Kara Monaco.”
Detective Nguyen: “Well Kara, before we go any further, I need
to inform you that anything you say from this point forward may
be used as evidence. Do you understand?”
Kara swallowed hard as her mind spun… recognizing that she had
just been read her rights, Aussie style.
Detective Nguyen: “I need you to say that you understand.”
Kara: “Yes. I understand.”
Detective Nguyen: “Good. Now, can you please tell where you’re
from, and what brings you here to Brisbane.”
Kara: “I'm from the States and I'm here competing in the UMMA.”
Detective Nguyen: “UMMA?”
Kara: “Yes. It’s a mixed martial arts organization.”
Detective Nguyen: “Ah yes, I've heard of them. They have an
event coming up at the Entertainment Centre.”
Kara: “That’s right. That’s why I’m here.”
Detective Nguyen: “Excellent. I’m sure many fans here were
looking forward to seeing you there, too. But, unfortunately,
you didn’t keep the fighting in the ring, or whatever, did you?
Why on earth would you go down to the South Beach Surfer Club
and attack two women and think you could get away with it?”
Kara: “First iff, I didn't go there to attack anyone. I went to
see my friend.”
Detective Nguyen: “We have numerous witnesses that say something
completely different. They say you went there and singled out
one “Ellie Jean Coffee” and proceeded to assault her then turned
your aggression towards her sister Holly Daze Coffee. Fortu..
Kara: “I never attacked her! It was self-defense! And her sister
must have been the one who attacked me from behind. I was
defending myself!”
Detective Nguyen: “Miss Monaco, I'm sure that's how it appeared
to you at the time but unfortunately that's not how everyone
else saw it.”
Kara: “Do I get to call anyone or get an attorney?”
Detective Nguyen: “That's your prerogative but if you cooperate
with me I'll make sure you can get out of here.”
Kara: “Do I get call?”
Detective Nguyen: “That your right, we just need to know who
you're calling.”
Kara: “His name is Dragon.”
Detective Nguyen: “We need to know his full name.”
Kara: “Ummm... Everybody calls him Dragon. He's my boyfriend.”
Detective Nguyen: “So he's your boyfriend and you don't know his
full name?”
Kara: “He's a well-respected businessman. He owns a stable full
of fighters.”
Detective Nguyen: “So this Dragon character owns fighters. Are
they there on their own free will?”
Kara: “Oh my God. He owns a stable of MMA fighters that compete
in the UMMA.”
Detective Nguyen: “So he owns a bunch of women?”
Kara: “I didn't want to make it to sound like he owns these
woman. He owns the stable and they work for him.”
Detective Nguyen: “OK, if I look up this Dragon on the internet,
what will I see? Will there be a picture of him?”
Kara: “Ummmm, not really. I have some nice pictures of him on my
phone, back at the Hotel.”
Detective Nguyen: “I think maybe you should call somebody else?”
Kara: “Am I free to go now?”
Detective Nguyen: “We've just started Miss Monaco. We have
Detectives searching your Hotel room and when they return we can
proceed with pressing charges.”
Kara: “Charges! I didn't do anything. It was just a fight and I
wanted no part of it from the beginning. She swung at me first
and I was defending myself! I want a Lawyer!”
Detective Nguyen: “Assault of a minor is a serious offense Miss
Monaco. You should have thought this through before you went off
on your rampage.”
Kara: “Minor? What the hell are you talking about?”
Detective Nguyen: “Holly Daze Coffee is 16 years old. Assaulting
a minor is considered a felony.”
Kara: “Seriously! She jumped me from behind! Was I supposed to
just let her beat me up?”
Detective Nguyen: “I doubt that was going to happen after what
you did to her older sister.”
Kara: “I was just defending myself, I swear!”
Detective Nguyen: “I seriously doubt that you could put both of
your victims in the Hospital while you were simply, defending
yourself. I think you need to take a look at this from their
perspective. You better hope they are both OK.”
Kara: “Maybe they'll think before they attack someone next
time.”
Detective Nguyen: “Now would like to call someone else?”
Kara: “Yes, Audrey Allen, she's a friend of mine and she's
staying at the Marriott.”
Detective Nguyen: “Is this Miss Allen a resident of Australia?”
Kara: “No, why?”
Detective Nguyen: “I think you’re going to need an attorney.
Unfortunately there won't be one available until Monday
morning.”
Kara: “I'm not sitting in here until then! Let me call my
friend!”
Kara was taken from the interrogation room and led past Grace on
her way to the holding cell. As Kara passed the booking area a
man shouted out and pointed towards her.
Cab Driver: “That's her! The one with the ripped shirt! She
stiffed me $18.00. She said she was coming right back but never
paid.”
Kara: “I was going to pay him when I got back out! I swear.”
Detective Nguyen: “I thought you said you left your purse back
at the Hotel room. How were you planning to pay him?”
Kara: “I...I was..I need an attorney.”
Detective Nguyen: “I guess we're going to add another charge to
your ever growing list. Very impressive Miss Monaco.”
Kara felt the weight of the world falling down on her. For the
first time she felt she was really in trouble. She knew she was
defending herself but with no witnesses to back up her story she
was screwed. At least Dragon would be there for her, she could
always count on him.”
Audrey Allen had just returned from a dinner date with one of
her surfer buddies when she saw two men going through Kara's
Hotel room.
Audrey: “Who are you and what the f*ck are you doing?”
Detective: “Who are you?”
Audrey: “I asked you first.”
The detective produced his badge wallet from inside his jacket
and flipped it open for her to see.
Detective: “I don’t care. Now, who are you?”
Audrey: “My name is Audrey. Audrey Allen. And this is my
friend’s room.”
Detective: “Well then your friend is in a lot of trouble.”
Audrey: “What kind of trouble?”
Detective: “Never mind that. Where were you tonight?”
Audrey stammered, momentarily disoriented as she realized she
had gone from concerned friend to being questioned as some kind
of suspect in the blink of an eye.
Audrey: “I… I was out. To dinner. I was out to dinner with
friends.”
Detective: “You sure? You seem a little confused.”
Audrey: “YES, I’m sure. I only just got back, which is why I
have no idea what the hell is happening. Where is Kara?”
Detective: “No need to worry. Your friend is safe and sound in
police custody.”
Audrey: “WHY? Has she been arrested?”
Detective: “I can’t give out that information. But I think you
can assume she’ll there for quite a while. Now, if you don’t
mind, I need you to clear out so I can do my job.”
Audrey immediately tried to get a hold of Dragon but had no idea
what his number was or what his real name was. She called her
training partner Gemie Howe hoping that she would have his
number.
Audrey: “Gemie. Damn, I'm glad I caught you. I need Dragon's
cell. Kara has been arrested and he needs to go down and get her
out!”
Gemie: “Arrested? What did she do?”
Audrey: “I don't know but they said she was in big trouble.”
Gemie: “Let me see, I have the Den number but I doubt anybody's
going to be there. You can try.”
Audrey: “Do you know where he's staying?”
Gemie: “He's in the Stamford Plaza but I don't know what room
he's in?”
Audrey: “Thanks, I can call and get his room number. What's his
name?”
Gemie: “I have no clue, I've always called him Dragon.”
Audrey: “Do you have Sophia or Bri's number. Surely they will
have his cell or know his real name?”
Gemie: “I have Brianna's number, write this down.”
Audrey: “You'll have to call her, she'll just hang up on me.”
Gemie: “I'll see what I can do. I'll let you know either way.”
Audrey caught a cab and headed down to the station hoping she
could do something to get her friend out of trouble. She arrived
at the station but wasn't allowed to see Kara as she was in the
process of being charged.
Audrey: “What are the counts? What's she being charged for?”
Grace: “She being charged for aggravated assault and battery,
assault of a minor, disorderly conduct, indecent exposure,
disturbing the peace, and failure to identify. Oh, it looks like
they added failure to pay to the list.”
Audrey: “My God, what did she do?
Grace: “It looks like your friend went on a rampage and beat up
two sisters at the South Bank Surf Club.”
Audrey lost the color in her face as she knew exactly what Kara
had done.
Audrey: “When is she getting out?”
Grace: “As soon as someone pays her bail. It's $25,000. That’s
Australian dollars to you Americans. So, good news… you’ll get a
little bit of a discount.”
At that moment, Audrey had only the money in her pocket. It
would have to be a helluva discount for that to be enough.
Audrey: “I can come up with the money but not tonight, I'll have
to get it in the morning.”
Grace: “She'll not going anywhere anytime soon.”

THE MEETING 26 - When Words Won't Do
Briana Evigan was meeting with Dragon in his hotel room in
Brisbane. She sat at the little table in the one-bedroom room,
as he sat opposite. Briana’s features were uncharacteristically
stern, and Dragon looked concerned.
Briana: “So… Kara and Sophia in our locker-rooms… that was
wild.”
Dragon: “Yeah, you don’t say. How long had that been going on
before I got there?”
Briana: “Oh, I don’t know… about six months?”
Dragon’s eyes narrowed at Bri’s tone.
Dragon: “What are you implying?”
Briana: “That you’re a f*cking idiot.”
Dragon: “I beg your pardon?”
Briana: “I said, you’re a fu-“
Dragon (interjecting): “Yeah… no, I heard you. Thanks.”
Bri just shrugged.
Bri: “It probably deserves saying more than once anyway… you’re
a f*cking idiot.”
Dragon: “You do realise you’re talking to your boss?”
Bri: “Am I?’
Dragon’s head tilted defensively.
Bri: “The manager I signed for used to have his stable-leader’s
back. And his stable’s.”
Dragon (flatly): “I do.”
Bri: “Oh… ‘cause here I thought you just had Kara’s back. Or, is
she the new stable-leader?”
Dragon: “That’s not funny.”
Bri: “You’re damn fuckin’ right it ain’t. It’s a f*cking
catastrophe.”
Dragon: “I don’t know what you want me to change.”
Bri: “Then you’re f*cked. Then we’re all f*cked. And your
stable-leader, the one person who has put her neck out for you
at every turn since you opened this damn place, is f*cked most
of all.”
A knock on the door suddenly startled Briana and Dragon, and the
two silently stared towards the hotel corridor, wondering who
was on the other side of the wall. Dragon finally stood and
paced to the door, opening it roughly.
Standing there, with a hard look on her face, was Sophia Bush.
Dragon: “Hey…”
Sophia’s features softened as she glanced straight past him.
Sophia: “Hi, Bri.”
Bri: “Hey, Sophs. Come to help me castrate this fool?”
Dragon turned to give Briana another glare, while Sophia’s poker
face cracked, allowing herself a giggle.
Sophia: “All good babe, I’ll take it from here.”
Sophia pushed her way past Dragon to give Bri a hug before
Briana continued on her way out of the door, and Sophia took
Bri’s seat at the table. Dragon finally turned to join her.
Sophia: “We need a chat. A proper one.”
Dragon: “Yeah… I think that was Bri’s general gist.”
Sophia: “It shouldn’t have taken us this long.”
Dragon: “Well, we’re both busy.”
Sophia: “Exactly. But, we’re usually busy with the same thing;
running the stable.”
Dragon: “The stable is running just fine.”
Sophia: “Just fine? How ignorant are you?? We lost a title, for
one. The first time our stable has ever lost a title.
Coincidence?”
Dragon: “It had to happen eventually. No-one is unbeatable.”
Sophia: “Cool. Great attitude.”
Dragon: “Am I wrong?”
Sophia: “Wrong enough! Then, Jules loses straight after that
incident in the locker-room the other day. You don’t think it
affected her?”
Dragon: “Well, which one of us is to blame for that one?”
Sophia: “Your girlfriend turned up to OUR locker-room, causing a
ruckus. Your willingness to have her feel like she can do that
is what’s to blame!”
Dragon: “I know you two don’t get along. Obviously I can’t do a
damn thing about that.”
Sophia: “Word is she stayed in there and assumed my role after
I’d gone. You could have done something about that.”
Dragon: “That wasn’t my intention.”
Sophia: “But you didn’t stop her! Do you actually want me to
turn my position over to her? Do you want me gone?”
Dragon: “No. God no. You know I don’t.”
Sophia: “Sure felt like it.”
Dragon: “After all we’ve been through, how could I possibly want
that? Besides, this stable owes you everything. I owe you
everything.”
Sophia: “Oh really? Funny way of showing it. Anyway, what does
it owe Kara? ‘Cause she’s sure taking a lot.”
Dragon: “You expect me to stop dating Kara because my
stable-leader hates her? That’s ridiculous.”
Sophia: “No. I expect you to separate business and pleasure.
She’s been training with our girls. Is she part of the stable
now?”
Dragon: “It’s, um… no, she’s not. She just needed a hand.”
Sophia: “That’s not your job.”
Dragon: “There wasn’t anywhere else for her to turn.”
Sophia: “Well, that sucks. Bad luck.”
Dragon: “Not how I see it. If I can help, I should.”
Sophia: “Audrey as well? And at the expense of your stable?”
Dragon: “But, it wasn’t at the expense-“
Sophia (interjecting): “Of course it was. Think about it for
half a minute. If you’re there. If Susan is there. If Finchy is
there. Then, none of you are here. And that is at our expense.
And don’t you EVER ask Bri to help train her again.”
Dragon: “She flatly refused.”
Sophia: “Of course she refused. She’s a hell of a lot smarter
than you are, you dunce.”
Dragon: “So, you’d have me just abandon them?”
Sophia: “You have to make a decision. If you can’t give us 100%,
then you may as well give it to them.”
Dragon: “Are you suggesting I leave the stable?”
Sophia: “I’m suggesting you decide which stable you want to
run.”
Dragon: “You know, I’ve considered signing Kara and Audrey to
the Den. They are both great fighters.”
Sophia: “And cancel two of your current contracts? Gee, you’re
really getting the point here.”
Dragon: “I didn’t say I’ll do it.”
Sophia: “But, you’re considering it! You have genuinely
entertained the idea of dropping two of your fighters to bring
in two of the women in this league that hate your fighters the
most! What sense does that make??”
Dragon: “Fine. You have a point. Just, let me get the girls set
up elsewhere. They’re not as bad as you make out. They deserve a
little help.”
Sophia: “Or a lot, right?”
Dragon shifted to the chair beside Sophia.
Dragon: “Look, I’m just trying to do the right thing here. I’m
not trying to ignore the stable. I just want things to work out
for everybody. Besides, what’s the worst case scenario if I’m
not there? You’re in charge. That’s not exactly a bad thing for
the stable.”
Sophia: “But, I shouldn’t have to do it alone. I’ve got my
fights to worry about as well. There’s an awful lot to making a
stable run you know.”
Dragon: “I know, I know. You shouldn’t have to do it alone. And
you won’t. I just… I want to help Kara. She’s working towards
having her own stable again, and when she’s in a better place, I
don’t really have to help, do I?”
Sophia: “It’s still going to affect us in the meantime. Besides,
I don’t even know what you see in that bimbo.”
Dragon: “She’s not…”
He sighed, loudly.
Dragon: “She’s not a bimbo. Come on now. She’s a good egg,
really.”
Sophia: “No, she’s really not. She’s hot, sure. But, don’t lie
to me. She’s a terrible human being.”
Dragon: “I’m not having this argument. I like her, because I
like her and she’s worth liking, and that’s all you need to
know.”
Sophia: “You genuinely like her enough to spend all this time
and energy on fighters that are up against your own stable?”
Dragon: “Well.... yeah. I like Kara, alright? Guilty as charged.
You’ve never had feelings enough for someone that you’d do
whatever necessary to -?”
Dragon was cut off as Sophia slipped forward unexpectedly, her
left hand leaning against his leg and her lips suddenly locking
onto his.
Dragon was startled, but made no attempt to break the kiss, and
instead, eventually started to return it. A moment later Sophia
slowly pulled back.
Sophia: “Yeah… I guess I have.”
Dragon: “Oh…”
Their gaze met again and Dragon started to inch forward. Softly
brushing some hair from Sophia’s face, he kissed her once more.
The pair suddenly froze as the door burst open and Briana’s
voice was heard.
Briana: “Hey, I just got this really weird phonec… oh… holy
sh*t! Nevermind!”
And then she was gone, the sound of the door closing again.
Sophia broke the kiss and leaned her forehead against Dragon’s,
and broke into a smile.
Sophia: “Well, that’s going to be fun to keep a lid on.”
Dragon: “F*ck.”
Sophia’s head slowly pulled away from his and she looked him
over contemplatively, biting her lip.
Sophia: “Sorry.”
His gaze drifted up to meet hers, and as their eyes met, his
face softened into a warm smile.
Dragon: “No. I am.”
They both leaned forward and kissed gently again.

THE MEETING 26 – A Night in the Slammer
Audrey Allen was patiently waiting at the Fortitude Valley
Police Station for Kara to be booked. It had been over 2 hours
since Audrey hastily made her way to free her friend but the
late night wheels of justice in Brisbane turned slowly. Audrey
went back up to the front desk to pester her newly found friend
Grace when she saw Kara being escorted back to her holding cell.
Audrey: “Kara! Kara!”
Audrey started making her way to her friend when she was pushed
aside by Detective Nguyen.
Detective Nguyen: “I'm sorry Miss. You're going to have to get
out of the way. Now!”
Kara: “Audrey, get me out of here. Call Dragon.”
Detective Nguyen kept her firm grip on Kara's arm continuing to
shuffle her way to the cell when Audrey steppend in front of
her.
Audrey: “My friend has rights. You can't take her away like
this.”
Detective Nguyen: “Last warning! Either get out of the way or
join your friend in her comfy new home.”
Kara: “It's all right Detective, she's only trying to help.”
Kara turned to her friend with a defeated look on her face.
Kara: “Come on Audrey. Let us through. I'll be out of here as
soon as they figure everything out.”
Audrey: “Gemie was able to get a hold of Briana Evigan. She's
going to call Dragon, I'm sure he's on his way right now.”
For the first time since her date, Kara felt there was a glimmer
of hope but she hated that she had to rely on Sophia's little
minion. If all went well Dragon would be here soon and all her
troubles would go away.
Kara: “Briana? Really? Of all the people she chooses Briana. Are
you sure she'll tell him? She really hates us you know.”
Audrey: “Gemie assured me she would. She just got out of a
meeting with him and was going back to let him know. If not I'll
knee the bitch in the face again.”
Detective Nguyen shook her head.
Detective Nguyen: “So you two just think you can come to our
country and run amuck beating up anyone you want. Typically
Americans, think you own the world.”
Despite Briana's abhorrence for Kara and Audrey, she had every
intention of informing Dragon of Kara's dire circumstance but
when she walked in on Dragon and Sophia locked in a passionate
embrace, she was taken back and left without mentioning a word
to either of them. As far as Briana was concerned, Dragon had
finally come to his senses and the blonde bimbo could rot in
jail for all she cared. If Audrey Allen had any problem with
her, she would be more than willing go another round with the
annoying Bunny and finish what she started.
Kara: “Go back and get some rest Audrey. Nothing good is going
to come from you waiting round here.”
Audrey: “Come see me as soon as you get back.”
Kara waved to her friend as she was escorted to a processing
room where a female officer named Stacy rudely told her to take
off her clothes and stand with her hands above her head.
Officer Stacy: “Turn around.”
Kara obeyed the stern officer.
Officer Stacy: “Bend over and touch your toes.”
Kara gulped down a deep breath as she felt a cold latex glove
reach between her legs.
Officer Stacy: “Size?”
Kara: “I don't know. We don't measure ourselves there in the
States.”
Officer Stacy: “Size? What size clothes do you wear?”
Kara: “Most the time I'm a size 3.”
Officer Stacy: “Small, medium or large?”
Kara: “I'll take a small please.”
Officer Stacy: “Shoe size?”
Kara: “7.”
Officer Stacy went over to a shelf and threw Kara a tan shirt,
pants and a gray pair of shoes. Kara proceeded to get dressed in
the ill fitting clothes. Her shirt was too small and her pants
kept wanting to fall down. The course starched material roughly
rubbed against her body but Kara knew better than to ask for
anything else. Officer Stacy pointed over to the area where
Kara's mugshot would be taken.
Officer Stacy: “Place your feet on the marks and face me.”
Kara started to tremble as reality finally hit Kara with the
force of a hurricane. She had been arrested. Treated like a
common criminal. Jesus... she was going to jail! And who knows
how long she might be there?
For a moment, it felt like she was floating. Her mind drifted
away, and it almost seemed like she was standing outside
herself. As if this whole crazy sequence was some sort of
never-ending nightmare that she would wake up from at any
moment.
Meanwhile, Officer Stacy was growing increasingly impatient.
When she'd finally had enough, her voice boomed loud and strong.
Officer Stacy: “Miss Monaco! Please place your feet on the marks
and face me!"
Her stern, irritated tone cr*cked through Kara's malaise, and
she quickly did as she'd been told.
With the push of a button, a false mechanical click told the
blond fighter her humiliation was officially complete. No doubt,
that picture would be everywhere in no time flat.
Officer Stacy: "Face left."
Kara turned.
Click.
Officer Stacy: "Now turn to the right."
Click.
Her shame had now been digitally recorded from all angles.
Beautiful.
Officer Stacy: "Step over here please."
The officer motioned to a small table in the corner of the room.
Kara obediently moved in that direction, and noticed a small,
innocuous-looking white box sitting at the table's center.
Officer Stacy: "Now give me your right hand.”
Stacy took her hand and pressed each finger to the top of the
box. Just like that, her fingerprints were in the system.
Officer Stacy: "Now the left.”
The procedure was quickly repeated with the other hand. When
they were done another officer escorted her to a holding cell.
Gone was the private interrogation room. Kara was now placed in
a large, communal holding cell. The sound of the door slamming
shut brought her back into the moment, and she scanned the
crowded cell to find herself looking at a motley group that were
not exactly among the most shining examples of Brisbane's
culture. Eager to avoid drawing any attention, she quickly
looked for a place to sit. It wasn't hard to tell the newbies
from the regulars, and she found what looked to be a safe spot
beside a pretty redhead who was holding her head in her hands as
she sniffled quietly. Kara sat and leaned back casually, willing
herself to melt into the cell wall and become invisible. She
refused to make eye contact with anyone, hoping she could just
lay low and bide her time. With luck, her stay would be short
and Dragon would come and save her from her the mess she now
found herself in. Her plan went to sh*t immediately, as a tall
muscular brunette with a coiled snake tattoo on her arm pushed
the redhead aside and sat down. She introduced herself as Two
Stacks.
Two Stacks: “Hey Blondie. What did a pretty little thing like
you do to end up in here?”
Kara tried to ignore the tall brunette and turned and looked the
other way.
Two Stacks: “Listen bitch! You answer me when I ask you a
question.”
Kara: “I really don't want any trouble, please leave me alone.”
The tall brunette quickly got up spreading Kara's knees apart
and stood in front of her. Her left hand grabbed Kara's chin and
she lifted her face until she was looking her straight in the
eye. She bent over until she was inches from Kara's face.
Two Stacks: “You're going to do what I say - when I say it.
Understand?”
Kara's brought her legs together and scissored the tall
brunette's legs while she grabbed her left hand and twisted her
hips. Two Stacks instantly found herself on her back with Kara's
knee firmly placed on her stomach while Kara's right hand
twisted her left arm. Kara stuck her left hand under Two Stacks
elbow and bent her arm until it was over her head. Kara slide
her knee on the brunettes throat while she pulled up with her
right hand bending Two Stacks arm at a horrible angle.
Two Stacks: “Owww! Stop! Stop! Let go.”
Kara: “Now you either leave me alone or I'll break you f*cking
arm. Understand?”
Two Stacks: “Yes! Yes! Please let me go!
Kara twisted her arm one final time before letting go leaving
Two Stacks laying on her back trying to get the feeling back in
her arm. Most of Kara's cellmates had a shocked look on their
faces but none of them dared give Kara a second look. Kara
kicked Two Stacks in the ribs as the brunette quickly made her
retreat.
Kara was exhausted and needed to get some rest but she knew that
would be impossible in her current situation. The sniffling
redhead had managed to calm herself and sat next to Kara again.
She introduced herself as Amber and said she was coming home
from a party and was picked up for Drink Driving.
Kara: “That's a bummer, you gonna be OK?
Amber: “I guess so but my parents are going to be a bit pissed.
You mind if I stay by you?
Kara: “Free world isn't it?”
Amber: “It's just that brunette has been tormenting everyone all
night. Where did you learn that move?”
Kara: “It's a long story. Maybe later.”
Amber: “You can sleep if you want. Nobody's going to mess with
you anymore.”
Kara closed her eyes and drifted off. She rested with one eye
open while Amber started humming and nervously playing with her
hair. Oh screw it anyways thought Kara as she relaxed and tried
to fall asleep. Maybe when she woke up this would all be a
nightmare and she would wake up in Dragon's arms. The sound of
the cell door opening startled Kara and she sat up quickly
getting her bearings. She was so tired that she had no idea how
long she had been out. At the door was Officer Stacy who pointed
to Kara.
Officer Stacy: “Monaco! Your bail has been posted.”
Kara quickly shot up and made her way to the door. She looked
back and nodded to Amber mouthing the word thanks. Kara felt
sympathy for the young redhead knowing that a mistake at such a
young age can have long lasting effects. She also knew that the
moment she left Two Stacks would likely go back to her bullying
ways. She walked up to Two Stacks and bend over and whispered in
her ear.
Kara: “If you as much as look at Carrot Top over there I'm
coming back and breaking both your arms. Understand?”
Two stacks silently nodded her response and looked away as Kara
was escorted out of the cell. Dragon was here, she just knew it.
Kara could always count on him. He had finally made it down and
posted her bail. She couldn't wait to fall in her Knight in
Shining Armour's arms again. She knew she looked like crap and
tried to fix her hair and at least make herself presentable.
Shift change was going on at the Fortitude Valley Police Station
and Kara's buddy Grace was in civilian clothes making her way
out.
Kara: “Thanks for all your help Grace.”
Grace: “No, thank you. Without upstanding citizens like
yourself, I wouldn't have a job now would I.”
Kara continued to processing expecting to see Dragon but when
she turned the corner Audrey was standing there.
Kara: “Where's Dragon?”
Audrey: “What, I'm not good enough? I can tell them to forget
about it and take the money back.”
Kara: “No no no. I'm sorry. I was just expecting Dragon. How did
you come up with the money?
Audrey: “I called Hugh Hefner. He said if any Bunny ever got in
trouble that we could call him so I did. He wired over the money
and said he'll have an attorney for you in a couple of hours.”
Kara: “Thanks Aud's. You're a life saver. What would I do
without you?”
Audrey: “Probably rot in jail while you wait for that useless
good for nothing boyfriend of yours.”
Kara: “He's not useless. I'm sure Briana never told him.”
Audrey: “She better hope that's not the case or I'll have to go
over there and teach her a lesson.”
Kara: “I think if we get into another fight they are going to
lock us up and throw away the key.”
Audrey: “I'll just challenge her at Open Fight Night. That way
everyone can watch me kick her ass.”
Kara: “You really called Hef?”
Audrey: “I didn't know who else to turn to. I tried to get a
hold of Dragon but who knows where the hell he is.”
Kara: “So you called Hef, his useless daughter must not have
been around.”
Audrey: “F*ck Christie. Nobody gives a sh^t about her anyways.
Hef is still the face of Playboy. Oh, and by the way, he said he
was upset that we're no longer Bad Ass Bunnies. Maybe he can get
us our jobs back.”
Kara: “Really? I'd love to see the look on Alison's face when
that call comes in.”
Audrey: “Let's get you back to the hotel. You look like sh^t.”
Kara: “I don't know about that. Two Stacks thought I looked
pretty hot.”

THE MEETING 27 – Restitution
It was almost 8:00 AM when Kara was awaken by some loud knocks
on her Hotel room door. She quickly threw on some shorts and a
t-shirt and looked through the peephole. On the other side was a
very attractive sharply dressed man. Kara kept the chain on and
cr@cked open the door.
Kara: “What can I do for you?”
The sharp looking man introduced himself as Michael Steele, her
new attorney.
Kara: “Oh great. Come on in, have a seat while I freshen up.
I've been through a lot the last 24 hours and I've slept for…”
Kara looked at the cheap alarm clock sitting on the night stand,
“…like 3 hours.”
Michael Steele: “I'm fully aware of your situation Miss Monaco.
I just need to go over a few things. Take your time. I'll make a
few calls.”
Kara got herself ready while her attorney was busy on his cell.
When she returned Michael was off his phone and ready to go over
her case.
Michael Steele: “Ms. Monaco.”
Kara: “Call me Kara please.”
Michael Steele: “OK, Kara. This looks like an open and shut
case. I just have a few quick questions.”
Kara: “Really? Open and shut! I don't have to go back there?”
Michael Steele: “If everything you told them was the truth then
you'll never have to see them again. Now I just want to go over
a few details.”
Kara: “Shoot.”
Michael Steele: “Were you ever given an opportunity to make a
call?”
Kara: “No, they asked me for a name but I never got to call
anyone.”
Mke Steele: “So no calls, great. Were you read your rights?”
Kara: “Kind of. The detective asked if I understood why I was
there.”
Michael Steele: “I'll take that as a yes. It also appears that
they searched your Hotel room without your permission or
obtaining the proper warrants.”
Kara: “All I know is that Audrey said there were a couple of
detectives going through my things but I never found out what
that was all about.”
Michael Steele: “They had no reason to search your room. Here's
your statement on last night’s events. Please go over it and
make sure it's all accurate.”
Kara started reading through the 3-page statement and
immediately stopped.
Kara: “I never said I was going down there looking for a fight.
That's a lie! I told them I went down there looking for a
friend.”
Michael Steele: “Do you remember signing this?”
Kara: “I signed so many things I really don't remember.”
Michael Steele: “Read the entire statement and mark all the
inaccurate parts in red. The whole interview is on tape so we
shouldn't have any problem backing up your side of the story.”
Kara: “Do they always lie like this?”
Michael Steele: “I wouldn't call it a lie. Sometimes they get a
little creative and fill in the blanks afterwards but for the
most part they do their jobs.”
Kara: “Are we done?”
Michael Steele: “Almost, I've obtained some surveillance footage
from the South Beach Surf Club and it appears that the fight was
mutual but it clearly shows Ellie Jean Coffey throwing the first
punch. It also shows that Holly Daze Coffey attacking you from
behind.”
Kara: “That's exactly how it happened. The Police told me they
had witnesses saying I started everything.”
Michael Steele: “It doesn’t matter what the statements say. The
video shows that clearly wasn’t the case. In fact, I would say
you have the right to press charges of your own, if you wish.”
Kara: “Charges? What kind of charges?”
Michael Steele: “Holly Daze Coffey clearly attacked you. That’s
aggravated assault. She's only 16 but her actions were serious
enough that she could still be treated as an adult. Beyond that,
if the video clearly disputes the statements made by the five
witnesses. They could be charged with making false statements.
They can claim they were misquoted, so that will be harder to
prove. The South Beach Surf Club could also be in trouble for
allowing Holly into an establishment that serves alcoholic
beverages. It would be up to the police to pursue that charge on
their own, though.”
Kara: “I really don't want to do any of that. All I want to do
is get out of here.”
Michael Steele: “I think it would be best to at least threaten
the younger Miss Coffey with legal action. They’re still
claiming the whole melee was your fault, and they are pressing
assault charges. There’s also been talk of them suing you for
damages, hospital fees and the like. It would be good to give
them reason to think twice about all that.”
Kara: “You're the expert. I'm for whatever will get this over
and done.”
Michael Steele: “Is your friend Audrey available for some
questions?”
Kara: “She should be, she's right across the hall.”
Michael Steele: “Thank you for your time Kara. You have nothing
to worry about as long as you've been honest with me.”
Kara took a deep breath as Michael headed for Audrey's room. She
needed to call Hef and thank him but first she had to find out
what happened to Dragon.
Michael Steele had just finished up with Audrey when Kara made
her way over to see her friend.
Kara: “Great news Auds. I don't have to go back there.”
Audrey: “Yeah, I know, Mike told me.”
Kara: “It's Mike now?”
Audrey: “Yeah, he's a sweetheart. Not bad looking either, I’m
sure you noticed”
Kara stared at her friend in disbelief.
Kara: “I literally just got out of prison, and you’re trying to
set me up? You really are amazing Audrey.”
Audrey: “What can I say? I don’t like wasting time messing
around.”
Audrey waggled her cell phone at her friend.
Audrey: “Now, what do you think? I’ve got his number right
here.”
Kara rolled her eyes and shook her head.
Kara: “I've got to see Dragon first. I just can't believe he
would do this to me.”
Audrey: “Forget about him. His true colors showed up last night.
He was a no show when you needed him the most. Some boyfriend
you got there. Have you tried at least calling him?”
Kara: “I've texted him like 10 times but he hasn't answered.”
Audrey: “Take that as a big f@ck you. He's probably shacking up
with one of his training chicks he has littered all over the
country.”
Kara: “Or maybe with Sophia?”
Audrey: “Seriously? There's no way he'd pick that ugly troll
over you. You're way hotter than her. What you need to do is
move on. Take Mike for example. Damn, he's really hot and he's
single.”
Kara: “I'm not going after Michael. I just have to see Dragon
face to face and find out what's going on.”
Though Kara had a feeling that it wasn't going to end well, she
had to see Dragon and find out what had happened. Even if it was
as bad as Audrey thought, it was still better to know than to
sit here and wonder. His Hotel was only a couple of minutes
away, and she was determined to see him and get things settled.
Audrey: “Want me to tag along? Maybe I'll get to see Bri.”
An evil grin came over Audrey as she started rubbing her hands
together and clinching them into fists. She laced her fingers
together and bend them back cracking her knuckles.
Kara: “I told you, we can't afford to get into any more fights.
Plus, you're coming off a concussion.”
Audrey: “You're no fun. First you pulp up the Coffey girls for
me and now you won't let me pound on Bri. I'm telling you it's
her fault you sat in jail overnight. She deserves an ass
whooping.”
Kara: “Save it Audrey. You'll get another shot at her, just not
now.”
Audrey: “At least I have something to look forward too.”
Kara: “Just promise me you won't get into trouble while I'm
gone.
Audrey: “Last time I left you alone, you got yourself arrested.
Now, I’m the one causing trouble?”
Kara had to admit her friend had a point.
Kara made her way to Dragon's Hotel and walked through the lobby
towards the elevator. She pushed the button and watched as the
amber colored numbers slowly counted down. The doors opened and
she had to momentarily wait for a few businessmen and an elderly
couple to exit before she punched in his floor. Floor 24 arrived
and Kara walked towards Dragon's room hoping deep down that he
somehow had an explanation. Kara knocked and heard some rustling
on the other side of the door. She pressed her ear up and heard
some muted voices. Kara knocked again only this time more
forcefully.
Kara: “Dragon, it's me. Open up.”
On the other side of the door, Dragon was just coming to. The
loud knocks had startled him awake, and as he groggily opened
his eyes he realized he was laying on the sofa, beside Sophia.
With a gentle shake Sophia woke, and instantly went wide-eyed at
the sound of Kara's voice in the hallway.
Sophia (whisper): "F&ck... fuuuuck..."
Dragon (whisper): "It's okay, just, um... play it cool?"
Sophia shook her head.
Sophia (whisper): "Are you mad? What do you think her reaction
is going to be?"
Dragon gulped and took a deep breath, staring at Sophia the
whole time, as if for inspiration.
Dragon (whisper): "I have no idea how to prevent this from going
colossal."
Sophia shrugged, and instead of offering any sage advice, simply
leaned forward and kissed him.
Dragon (whisper): "Was that supposed to help?"
With a smile and a stifled giggle, Sophia gave him a playful
punch on the arm, and Dragon slowly pulled himself up and opened
the door.
Kara stood in the hallway looking impatient and anxious as er
feet fidgeted. Dragon looked nervous.
Dragon: "Hey, what's up?"
Kara: “What's up! What the hell's up with you? Where were you
last night and why didn't you come and get me?”
Dragon's face morphed into a genuine look of confusion.
Dragon: "Come get you? Where? Why?
Kara: “I was arrested last night and tried to get a hold of you
to post bail. Didn't Bri tell you?”
Dragon flushed red as he suddenly remembered Bri barging in and
then leaving again when she saw him and Sophia together.
Dragon: "Um... no... she didn't. I'm sorry, I had no idea-
wait... arrested for what??"
Dragon's mind was clearly moving a mile a minute, and he had no
idea what he was going to tell Kara about the night before. It
suddenly made sense to him why Briana had turned up again, and
why she promptly left without passing on her message. But he was
lost as to how to handle the situation from there.
Kara felt relieved that Dragon was unaware of her situation. She
knew he couldn't intentionally do something like that her.
Audrey was right. It was all Bri"s doing and knew she had to get
to the bottom of this. She looked at him, pursed her lips and
gave him a big smile.
Kara: "Well, you gonna invite me in?”
Dragon's face instantly dropped, as he realized what that would
mean.
Dragon: "Uhh..."
Then, deciding Dragon didn't quite deserve to take the full
wrath of Kara, Sophia shouted out blindly from the sofa.
Sophia: "No. He's not going to let you in!"
With a sigh, Dragon opened the door a little wider to reveal
Sophia and Kara to each other.
Sophia gave a cheeky little wave.
Sophia: "Why on earth would Dragon want you in here when he
knows I'd just beat the snot out of you again?"
