Forming the Dragonettes (Story/RP)
By: Dragons Den Date: August 26, 2014, 11:24 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
More RP/Story/Things/Stuff from the Den. I have to deal with
Sophia and Briana forming their team now. In this first part
they convince me one of our new recruits has what it takes. In
the coming parts they'll be pleading their cases to have me
recruit a few new Den members.
(I'm totally going to run out of colours for dialogue. So they
may switch between parts, but each fighter will have their own
colour within any particular story part.)
Part 1
Dragon stood before one of the training cages with Sophia Bush
on his left and Briana Evigan on his right. In the cage,
Samantha Hoopes sparred with Caroline Wozniacki.
Sophia was pleading with Dragon. “She’s a legit fighter, just
look at her. She’s going toe-to-toe with Caroline. You can’t
tell me she won’t hold her own.”
“They’re training, Sophia, it can be deceiving.”
“Well, did you watch her first match?”
“You know full well that I did.”
“Was that deceiving?”
“That was against a lesser opponent.”
“Bri, help me out here.”
Briana’s focus moved from the cage to the two spectators
standing beside her. “She looks good to me. She throws a mean
uppercut.”
Dragon remained unconvinced—and sarcastic. “You saw her debut
too, huh?”
“Actually no, but I’ve been watching for the last fifteen here.
She didn’t start with Caroline.”
Briana pointed to Julianna Guill, who sat on a bench against the
far wall with an ice-pack held to her jaw.
“She got Jules a good one. And Jules was not ****ing around.”
Dragon watched Samantha Hoopes, studying her carefully as she
dodged and punched her way around Wozniacki.
“She’s light on her feet, too,” added Briana.
“Ah, to be young again, eh, Dragon?”
“Speak for yourself. I don’t think I’ve ever moved that well.”
“So can we have her?”
Dragon ignored the question and shouted towards the cage,
“Caroline, come here a minute.” He lowered his voice again.
“Briana, step in.”
“Keep your guard up, Bri. That face is far too pretty to be left
alone with ‘Hammer’ Hoopes in there.”
Briana poked her tongue out at Sophia and made her way into the
cage after Caroline stepped out.
Caroline greeted Dragon with a smile and a small wave, and
Sophia with a hug. “What you need, Boss?”
“Your impression on Sam.”
“She is smarter than her looks. Heavy punches; lots of power,
right and left. I’m liking to fight with her. She can force me
to move. She is clever pick up; I think with good training she
goes far.”
“Would she survive in this nitwit’s team?”
“Nitwit?”
“It mean’s idiot. A fool. Sophia here.”
Sophia was pouting.
“Why is Sophia the fool?”
“Yeah, why am I the fool?”
“She’s putting together another team from the stable.”
Caroline looked contemplative. “That’s difficult, Sophia. Team
Warfare is… hectic.”
“Only one way to improve, right?”
“In theories.”
“So? You think it can work?”
“Sam is raw, but she’s talent. She can be good, definitely.”
“Thanks, Caroline. Jump back in after a minute.”
“Maybe thirty seconds. This nitwit needs her teammate alive.”
Caroline gave a short laugh and a wink toward her stable leader
before stepping up to the cage to keep an eye on the two
sparring fighters.
Dragon turned his full attention back to the cage as well.
Samantha was peppering Briana with hooks, but Briana was quick,
not allowing anything to land flush… until Samantha stuttered,
throwing Briana off, and then threw a sharp uppercut with her
opposite hand, connecting half-on with Briana’s left jaw. Briana
stumbled and got out of the way of the follow-ups as swiftly as
she could. Then Wozniacki rapped on the cage.
“Samantha, step back. Briana, swap me.”
As Caroline moved in, Briana stepped over to join Dragon and
Sophia outside the cage again, giving a quick rub to her jaw.
Sophia was grinning cheekily. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
Briana ignored her and pressed Dragon. “You happy yet, Boss?”
Dragon gave her a dry look. “With Samantha, yeah. But I think
you better get some hard training in.”
Dragon turned to walk away, calling behind him to Sophia, “You
can have Sam if she’s happy. You know where to find me when you
have more.”
As dragon left, Briana called into the cage before any sparring
had re-started. “Hey, Samantha!”
Samantha stepped to the edge of the cage, eyeing Briana
inquisitively. “What’s up, Briana? I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
“No. No, I’m fine.”
Sophia giggled. “You do have her running scared though,
‘Hammer’.”
“’Hammer’? What’s this, my new nickname?”
Sophia shrugged. “I think it works. I’ve seen you punch.”
Briana was absent-mindedly rubbing the left side of her jaw.
“Yeah, I’ve felt you punch.”
“That jaw giving you trouble, champ?”
Briana realised and dropped her hand. “Oh, no. No problem.”
“Julianna may have a spare ice-pack if you need.”
“Keep going superstar, you’ll need one in a minute.”
“Oh? You going to ask ‘Hammer’ to hit me for you?”
Briana threw a playful punch that glanced off Sophia’s shoulder
as she took half a step back. Samantha was still waiting in the
cage.
“Did you two actually want something?”
Sophia’s attention was brought back to Samantha. “Oh, right. Bri
and I are heading a second stable team. We want you to fill the
Heavyweight slot.”
“You don’t think I’m good enough for the first?”
Caroline, who stood behind Samantha in the cage, interjected at
that point. “That’s my place. Unless you will fight me for it…”
Samantha thought better of it and gave a thumbs-up sign to her
new teammates. “I’m in. Make sure the rest of the team moves as
well as Bri, but isn’t afraid to throw a punch.”
“The hell? I’m not afraid to throw a punch.”
“Get in here and throw one then.”
Sophia put an end to that thought instantly. “We’ve got **** to
do, Sam. Teammates of yours to find. Sorry, you’re stuck with
Caroline.”
Samantha and Caroline went back to sparring and Sophia smirked
at Briana as they turned to leave.
“You’re welcome.”
“For…?”
“Saving your ass. You would’ve been ‘hammered’.”
“Oh get off. I’m still quicker than she is.”
“She’s right though, you need to get more aggressive.”
Briana punched Sophia flush in the arm.
“How’s that for aggression?”
“Ow! In the cage, dummy. Damn. I should’ve let her at you.”
And so, two became three. Stay tuned for more shenanigans from
the Den! (And some fresh recruiting).

Hmmm... sounds like Samantha is going to be one to watch. I'm
sure Dianna Dahlgren will be keeping an eye on her.
Nice, Dragon... I like how Sophia and Briana are coming along
already. :)

I don't think Dahlgren has anything to worry about just yet. ;)
Thanks! I'm enjoying writing them. Glad it seems to be working.

PART 2
Sophia Bush and Briana Evigan burst into Dragon’s office. They
were grinning like they did every time they had their manager
cornered.
Dragon raised one eyebrow suspiciously. “What are you two up
to?”
Sophia spoke first, excited. “We know a secret.”
“A secret you’re going to love,” added Briana.
“Oh, yeah? Why do I get the sense this is more about that little
team of yours than it is about me?”
“Technically,” said Sophia. “It’s about both.”
“And,” furthered Dragon, “how do you possibly know something I
don’t?”
“We’re girls, Dragon. We gossip.”
He looked intrigued now, but still a little suspicious. “Who
have you been gossiping with?”
Briana piped up. “Well, my friend Audrina has a friend in her
stable who told Audrina she’s looking for new management. So
Audrina told me and I told Sophia, and Sophia said you’d be very
interested in that information.”
Dragon stared straight at Sophia. “Who are we talking about
here?”
Sophia’s eyes lit up and she grinned mischievously at Dragon.
“Who’s your favourite singer?”
“Female singer,” added Briana.
“Is this a trick question?”
Sophia shrugged. “I don’t think so. I hear you singing along to
her albums in here all the time.”
Dragon was going a little red. “You what?”
“Sometimes I come by and knock on your door and you don’t hear
me because the tunes are up too loud. And sometimes you’re
singing along to them.”
Now Dragon was redder again, and Briana was trying not to giggle
too loud.
“Ringing any bells now?”
Dragon looked a little too embarrassed to answer. Sophia stood
and mimed a microphone with her fist. “I’ll give you a hint,”
she said before breaking into song.
“Are you diggin’ on meee? Yeahhh, ‘cause I’m diggin’ on youuuu!”
Now Briana was laughing unabashedly. “Was that supposed to be
singing, or do you have something to tell Dragon?”
“Oh, you think you could do better?”
“I know I couldn’t do worse.”
Dragon finally found his words while the two girls opposite him
continued to tease each other. “That was meant to be Joss
Stone?”
Sophia and Briana suddenly stopped bickering and turned to
Dragon, nodding excitedly in tandem.
Dragon continued. “But, Joss isn’t available. She’s been under
management for, well, a while.”
The girls were now shaking their heads enthusiastically.
“She wants out,” said Briana, matter-of-factly.
Dragon still looked a little gobsmacked. “Wow. Hey, are you
assembling a team for the UMMA or a beauty pageant?”
Sophia and Briana recoiled, folding their arms and pretending to
pout. “Beautiful girls can fight, too, you know,” frowned
Sophia.
Briana joined in. “I can fight. Are you saying I’m
unattractive?”
“Yeah, Dragon, what are you saying?”
Dragon rolled his eyes. “Don’t you two start that bollocks.
That’s not what I meant.”
“What did you mean, then?”
“I meant: every single girl on this team is drop-dead gorgeous,
including yourselves. How on earth are you picking these
fighters?”
Sophia broke the act first, giggling as she leaned forward
again. “We thought, ‘how can we assemble a team that’s going to
get Dragon’s favour above the team he set up himself?’ And
viola! We noticed your eyes pop out of your head whenever you
see Sam, and I knew you had a thing for Joss. Simple, really.”
Dragon couldn’t tell if it was more attitude, or a legitimate
plot. He certainly couldn’t put it past Sophia to hatch such a
plan. He studied them carefully. “Are you two purposefully evil,
or does it just come naturally?”
“Oh, you love it.”
“I’m afraid to ask who else you want.”
“Well, we kind of got stuck from there. But I think we have some
good options.”
Briana paused for effect, then added, “If you can sign them.”
“Yeah, it depends if you’re on your game, Boss.”
“You two are going to help me with Joss, right?”
Sophia smirked. “Oh come on, you can handle yourself alone in a
room with a pretty girl.”
“He did need your help to sign me.”
“Oh, that’s right. But Joss isn’t as pretty as Briana, right,
Dragon?”
“Yeah, she won’t be as distracting as me. You’ll be fine.”
“You two enjoy this don’t you?”
“It’s my favourite thing.”
“And it’s my new favourite thing.”
Dragon sighed, frustratedly. “You two are bloody menaces.”
Suddenly, Briana’s phone beeped. She checked it and Dragon
looked annoyed.
“Turn that damn thing off.”
“Hang on, it’s important.”
“It actually is,” confirmed Sophia.
“How so?”
Briana smiled. “Because it’s Audrina.”
“Why is that important?”
“She says Joss is downstairs. Prepare yourself.”
“What?”
“Joss Stone. Here. Now. I’m going to go get her.”
Briana left and Dragon stared at Sophia.
“You two organised this behind my back?”
Sophia shrugged. “As if you weren’t going to sign her...”
She was right, but Dragon didn’t want to let that on. “You sure
you don’t want to sit in on this one? You did help me convince
Sam and Briana to sign.”
“I think you’ve got it. I’ll just bring her to your door.”
“Well… just promise me no smoke machine this time, okay?”
“Just the boom box?”
Dragon said nothing, but the stare was all Sophia needed.
“Cool, no boom box.”

Geez... who's in charge at your place, anyway? :P
You're characters are great, Dragon. I can see Sophia and
Briana in my mind as clear as day. And your character is in for
a world of hurt. :D

Haha. Me?
Okay, maybe not me.
Yeah... definitely not me. :(
Thanks heaps! :) You're likely very right, too. I don't stand
a chance...
