[The Interview continues]
"And now moving on to why we are here," Susanna said, "the
triathlon! Alexandra would you kindly to tell us what a
triathlon is?"
"A triathlon, in case someone," Alexandra looks at Pam, "doesn’t
know is a multiple-stage competition involving the completion of
three continuous and sequential endurance disciplines. While
many variations of the sport exist, triathlon, in its most
popular form, involves swimming, cycling, and running in
immediate succession over various distances. We will be doing a
full, or an ultra distance triathlon with a total distance of
226.2 km. It consists of a 3.8 kilometer swim, a 180.2 kilometer
bike ride, and a 42.2 kilometer run." Alexandra looked at Pam
smugly, "It is tough, I tell you that. You can't finish a
triathlon without serious training. In 1996 I quit Baywatch and
stopped acting altogether; I hired a trainer and trained for
nine months for the Hawaii Ironman."
"Based on your athletic past Alexandra, you clearly are the
favorite to win," Susanna turns to Pamela, "What on earth made
you challenge Alexandra?"
"You have that backward, Susanna. Alexandra challenged me. It
really is the only form of physical competition in which she
thinks she has a chance to win. All that training and me a
novice. But she will be surprised at what I can do once I set my
mind to it."
"Sure… About the preparations I can say that I have gone to
great pains to make sure that both of us have the same
high-quality gear. This way Pam can't blame the gear or claim
that I had better equipment. Asics will provide our shoes,"
Alexandra says, "actually Hanna-Maria Seppälä helped me with
that one. Swimming gear from Orca, shoes and apparel from ASICS
and bikes from Scott." She tried to hide a smile when she
finished.
"My only request is that my bicycle be painted pink. It makes me
feel more comfortable and gives me confidence." Pam added in a
way that it wasn’t sure if she was serious or joking.
"If you think that will help you," Alexandra replied.
"Ok, so how have you prepared for this?"
"I have increased my gym time with emphasis on the treadmill,
the stationery bicycle, and swimming. Plus lots of long distance
running and swimming and bike riding. I'm doing all this under
the watchful eye of my new personal trainer - to be revealed
later," Pam said lightheartedly. "But don’t you think he is
HOT!"

"Oh, come on now. Why do you want to keep it a secret?"
"Because Alexandra would probably want to steal him, not that
that would be possible!"
"It wouldn't be possible because she doesn't have a trainer. She
doesn't need one…she's a natural after all," Alexandra laughed.
"Since a full triathlon depends on endurance that is exactly
what I have been training. Not going into details, but my
training includes running, swimming, kayaking, mountain biking
and of course pumping iron. The whole Raccoon stable has been
helping me out – we have so many great athletes in the stable.
Did you know that ten of us have completed a triathlon? My main
trainers have been Jessica Ennis, a heptathlon Olympic Gold
medalist, Hanna-Maria Seppälä, a World and European swimming
champion, Simmone MacKinnon, Tsianina Joelson and Eva Wahlström
an European and Nordic boxing champion. It would be wrong if I
wouldn't also mention Michelle McCool and Lyen Wong."

"That is quite the team!" Susanna sounded impressed. "Pamela?"
"The stable I am in has loaded up on strong-willed gorgeous
women, many known for their beauty. But we have some jocks,
athletic women who give me guidance. Anna Kournikova was a top
tennis player while Kelly Kelly and Stacy Keibler know a lot
about training as they were in the WWE. The latter two are in
the same vein as Michelle McCool. But I know how to do training
in the gym from my previous goal of being a body builder. I know
how to train for stamina and conditioning. Having someone to
hone my swimming technique would be good, but I already know I
can swim faster than Alexandra."
"Hah!" Alexandra interjected.
"The most important training for me is mental. How to psyche
myself up and have the mental toughness to endure. No one is
better at providing this mental toughness than Christina
Applegate and Jenny McCarthy. Laugh if you want, but they are my
aces in the hole. Oh, yes, I forgot, lots of dancing. Good
training from Stacy and Christina on that. It proves muscle,
balance, quickness, and agility. And all my work on ‘Dancing
with the Stars’ really got me in shape."

"I wish you luck in dancing your way to victory…" Alexandra
laughed.
