The Den Make OFN Requests (RP)
By: Dragons Den Date: December 9, 2014, 7:20 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
*This is set a few weeks ago. Just before the Open Fight Night
challenges were announced by Dragon's Den. Here's a little
insight into the negotiating that goes on behind the scenes when
fighters decide they want to have a challenge on the card.
       Thanks for reading! :)*
Olga Kurylenko was in Dragon’s office. It was a busy time of
year, as he was trying to organise the options for Open Fight
Night and decide on the challenges his stable would send out.
Olga stood opposite Dragon’s desk, looking impatient. “I want
       Open Fight Night challenge.”
Dragon was massaging his temple as if he had a headache.
“Everyone wants one of those bloody things. Unfortunately, I can
       only give five.”
“Well make one of them me,” Olga persisted.
“And why are you more worthy than the other 36 fighters in my
       stable?”
She gave him a look that suggested that was a stupid question.
“I’m better. And, I want to fight for title.”
Dragon dropped his hand and looked at his veteran lightweight
fighter inquisitively. “The title? At Open Fight Night?”
“Yes,” Olga said matter-of-factly. “I can challenge Rachel
       Stevens. I want to.”
The realisation hit Dragon like a ton of bricks he never knew
were there. “Wow. You actually can, because you’re a rival.”
       “Because I’m the best.”
“Easy. You’re not even at the top of your division.”
       “I will be with title.”
Dragon’s eyes were wide. “Olga, if you’re sixth in the rankings
and hold the title, that’d be… mayhem.”
Olga posed with her hands on her hips and smirked. “I love
       mayhem. It’s my favourite.”
She wasn’t lying, and Dragon knew it. But he also knew how
difficult a task this would be. “RWB girls don’t just lay down
and hand over titles to non-challengers, you know.”
“I am better than challenger. Roxanne McKee is irrelevant.”
“Well firstly, she is also with RWB, and secondly, didn’t she
knock you out earlier this year?”
Olga’s look quickly suggested she may just knock out Dragon for
       that comment.
“I knock out her the time before.”
       Dragon shrugged. “Still counts.”
Olga was getting very impatient now. “I have had title before. I
will have it again. You help me or no?”
“I’ll have to think about it. I have 37 possible fighters to
       consider.”
       “Title is tempting though, no?”
“Of course it is. It won’t hurt your cause at all. That is, if I
think you actually have a chance at winning it.”
Olga’s eyes narrowed and her nostrils flared like a bull that
just found some red. “Maybe you come in the cage with me now, we
see if you think I’m good enough.”
Dragon knew better than to take that to heart. It wasn’t exactly
the first time he’d dealt with Olga. “You know if you kill me I
can’t give you that fight, right?”
She shrugged. “Maybe your replacement will be smarter.”
“Sh*t, that’s the last thing you want.”
“Smarter manager would give me title shot. You give Sophia match
       already. Not even for title.”
Dragon wasn’t having a bar of that. “She’s earned her OFN
       fight,” he responded flatly.
“Oh?” Olga said raising her eyebrows. “How? She get under your
       desk?”
The comment almost knocked Dragon from his seat. “Hey. F*ckin’
hell. Keep that sh*t in the cage, Olga. I won’t take that talk
in my office. You’re on the same team for f*ck’s sake. Act like
       it.”
“I want the fight,” Olga pushed.
“Yes, I’m well aware, thank you. I’ll keep it in mind if you
       keep your comments to yourself.”
“Fine,” said Olga, rolling her eyes. “Just think, I can get you
third title. You know you want it.”
Just then Sophia Bush stopped just inside the office doorway.
“Oh, sorry,” Sophia said. “I didn’t realise anyone else was in
       here. The doors were open.”
“No problem,” Dragon said. “Olga was just leaving.”
He gave Olga a look and she turned to leave, brushing past
Sophia on the way. “Sl*t,” she said under her breath just loud
       enough for Sophia to hear.
The two fighters glared at each other until Olga had left the
room, and then Sophia turned to Dragon, a sour look on her face.
       “The f*ck is her problem?”
Dragon sighed. “She’s unhappy because you have an Open Fight
Night challenge and she doesn’t at this point.”
       “Oh,” said Sophia. “Olga problems.”
“Of course. So, what can I do for you?”
“I was actually going to make an OFN suggestion myself.”
“You already have a fight,” Dragon frowned.
“Yeah, I wanted to recommend Sam.”
“Bloody hell, are you capable of entering my office without
       recommending Samantha for something?”
Sophia smirked. “She’s dynamite. You’d be mad not to consider
       it.”
“She’s already come to me with a suggestion. You know who it
       was?”
“Actually, yeah,” Sophia nodded. “She told me it was Ashley Ann
       Vickers.”
       “Right. Where’s the draw there?”
Sophia raised an eyebrow, incredulously. “Are you serious? Name
       two more beautiful women.”
       He shrugged. “You and Briana?”
Sophia face-palmed. “That was rhetorical. But, thanks, I guess.
My point is, if you ever wanted to make all the men in the world
your target demographic for one fight, here it is.”
       “I guess that’s a fair point.”
“Fight-wise, they’re both promising rookies with a chance to
       prove themselves.”
He shrugged again. “Your first point was better.”
“I expected as much to come from you.”
“Well,” Dragon explained, “I have a lot of fights to consider.
Half of them are rookies trying to prove themselves. The other
half are egomaniacs trying to prove themselves. It’s all the
same to me. If you give me something that’s going to put asses
in seats above all else, I’m listening.”
“The people love ‘Hammer’ and the men love Vickers,” Sophia
smiled. “It’ll put all the asses in all the seats, you corporate
       sell-out.”
Dragon laughed. “Good, then it’s a worthy suggestion. Thank
       you.”
After a moment of thought, Sophia got curious about Olga’s
       earlier issue.
“So, what was Olga’s OFN request?” she asked.
“It was… interesting, actually. She wants to fight Rachel
       Stevens for the title.”
Sophia looked genuinely surprised. “Wow, she gets madder each
       day.”
“Yeah, I thought it was pretty ambitious, too,” Dragon agreed.
“You going to give her the shot?”
“I think she’s biting off more than she can chew. I don’t need
an injury to one of my top fighters because of a rush of blood
       to the head.”
“Sh*t, if that got you an injury Olga would never leave the
       doc’s.”
Dragon laughed. “There’s probably a fair point in there
somewhere. I’m assuming you think I shouldn’t let her do it.”
“I’m not sure actually. I know it’s risky, but think of the
       reward.”
       “Is she capable?”
“On the best day of her life, with a large helping of luck,
sure, it’s not completely beyond her.”
Dragon frowned. “That’s not overly convincing.”
“Well, Rachel’s the champ for a reason. But, honestly, you never
know with Olga. I wouldn’t count her out of it.”
“Hmm… I actually expected you to side against her. I know you’re
       not the best of friends.”
“But she’s still a damn good fighter,” Sophia shrugged. “And an
intimidating one. I would never underestimate her.”
“And that’s why I like you,” Dragon smiled. “You’re a smart
       cookie.”
       “Know why I like you?”
       “Why?” Dragon asked suspiciously.
“Because you’re going to give Sam that OFN fight.”
“Ha. We’ll see. At the moment, Olga is winning.”
       “Well, you get five.”
“Yeah, but I’ve given you one and I’ve decided to give your mate
       one.”
       “My mate?” Sophia asked.
       “Briana.”
“Ah, of course you have,” Sophia smirked. “Did she bat her
       eyelashes when she asked?”
Dragon’s eyes narrowed, sceptically. “Careful, you’re stepping
       into Olga territory.”
       “Huh?”
“She said much the same about you getting on the OFN card. She
       was just… cruder.”
“Ah, so that’s why she called me a sl*t.”
Dragon frowned disapprovingly. “Yeah, that’d be it.”
       “Is it?”
       “What?”
“Is that why I got a fight?”
“No. You’ve actually earned yours,” said Dragon. “But, Briana
did bat her eyelashes at me a little bit.”
Sophia giggled. “I should’ve sent her in to ask for Sam’s fight
       instead.”
       “Probably,” Dragon agreed.
“Okay,” Sophia said, “I’m gonna go do something… inconspicuous.
       I’ll catch you soon.”
Dragon looked at Sophia with a mix of confusion and suspicion.
       “Ooookay.”
       Sophia left.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on Dragon’s open door and
Briana Evigan walked in. She was all smiles.
       “Hey Dragon. Got a minute?”
Dragon looked up from his desk with the same look he had on a
few minutes earlier as if it had never left. “Is this a ploy?”
Briana reacted with mock surprise. “A ploy? Whatever do you
       mean?”
Dragon wasn’t just suspicious anymore, he KNEW this was Sophia’s
doing. He caught his jaw as he looked up at Briana, dressed in
her minimalist training outfit, still glistening with sweat from
her intense workout downstairs. “Um… ”
“You okay?” She bat her eyelashes.
He smirked. “What do you want?”
She took a seat opposite him at his desk and smiled cutely. “I
wanted to pass on a request from Samantha. She’d like a fight at
OFN against Ashley Ann Vickers.” She flicked some stray hair
behind her ear and leaned forward. “Sounds like a hot matchup,
right? Almost as hot as me versus Mila Kunis.”
Dragon leaned forward to meet Briana’s gaze. “Are you doing this
because Sophia asked, or because you like tormenting me?”
She smiled, trying her best to hold back laughter. “Honestly?
Both. But, I also believe Sam deserves that fight.”
       “Does she?”
“Yeah. And the fans want it. You want to please the fans,
right?” Briana bit her bottom lip, still trying not to laugh. “I
want it, too. Don’t you want to please me?”
Dragon went bright red and his words stopped working. His jaw
may have dropped so hard it unhinged.
Suddenly Sophia’s voice called from around the corner. “F*ck,
Bri, don’t break him! Just get Sam the fight!”
Briana lost her facade with that and started laughing.
Dragon was still blushing. “Bloody hell. You two are f*cking
criminals.” He sighed. “I told Sam, I told Sophia and now I’ll
tell you; I will think about the Sam fight and announce my
decision when I announce the other challenges for the card."
“Okay,” agreed Briana. “Seriously though, have you given my
       match anymore thought?”
“Of course I have. I’ll let you know when I let everyone else
know. Practice a little more patience and a little less eyelash
       batting.”
“But practice makes perfect,” she said, giving those lashes
       another flutter.
Dragon looked lost. “Seriously, you’re killing me.” He motioned
to all the paperwork on his desk. “Can you please take your
partner in crime and let me get some work done?”
She laughed again. “Sure thing boss. Just make those fights
happen.” She gave him a wink and turned to join Sophia who stood
in the doorway laughing herself silly.

So, that was a negotiation, huh? I'd hate to see what it would
look like if Sophia and Briana just worked Dragon over. :P
I like those two. They certainly know what makes Dragon tick.
Not that he's a complicated guy. lol
Now, Olga, on the other hand... she seems fun. A real team
       player, that one. :)
Fun story, as always. You have some interesting personalities
       coming through. :D

Thanks, Richelle! I appreciate it. Fun is perfect, I'm happy if
that's what it is. And I'm sure there'll be plenty of Olga fun
to come, too. Especially with OFN on the horizon.

A great idea, wish I had thought about it. ...and wish I had the
time to write about how the challenges came about. Is Shay next?
Would you consider adding images of the people in the story? I
       really like what Rampage does.
I have a backlog of (Rampage and Dragon) stories to read,
hopefully I get to read them during xmas.
