Pre-Fight:
The buildup to the fight has been low key as both fighters are
new to women's combat sports and both have struggled. Florence
has started out her UCC career 1-3 while Julianna is winless in
her first 4 matches. Both stable leaders are optimistic that
their fighters will use this as a stepping stone hopefully
propelling them and putting them on the right career path.
The referee tonight is Sophie Turner who was recently let go by
Hellfire and is hopefully looking to make it back in the UCC.
Sophie hopes that this stint as a referee will keep her in the
spotlight and plans on making her mark by officiating a perfect
match.
Both fighters look nervous as they step forward to receive
directions. Beads of sweat are forming on Florence's forehead
while Julianna fidgets as she taps her foot on the canvas.
Sophie is making sure they pay attention and grabs both their
gloves and touches them together then sends them back to their
corners.
Round 1:
Florence is out fast fighting behind a high right jab while the
smaller Julianna is light on her feet moving in and out of the
pocket scoring with lightning fast punches. Florence holds back
her right hand cocked by her side but never gets the chance to
unload. At the one minute mark Florence is getting frustrated as
while her volume is decent she hasn't come close to landing a
single pinch as Julianna is a step ahead.
Julianna is circling to the right away from Florence's big right
hand and is snapping out her left jab whenever her opponent gets
within striking distance. Julianna feints to the right and
Florence unloads that big right hand but the 18 year old
Wannabee duck and lands 3 rapid fire hooks to the ribs. Florence
gasps out then backs away as a flurry of punches fly by her
head.
Florence has a high guard now leery of Julianna's speed. She
resets in the middle then cautiously steps forward but Julianna
is one her toes flashing her right glove then skipping out of
range. While Julianna lands some strikes not much damage is done
but she piles up the points on the score card. As the 4th minute
arrives, Florence is flat footed as these 5 minute rounds are
especially cruel on rookies. Julianna on the other hand isn't
fazed as she is still popping the jab but now she follows them
up with some nice work to the body.
The finals moments see Florence almost stationary and she is
having trouble keeping her guard up. Julianna feints a body shot
then unloads a flurry of punches backing Florence up to her
corner and as the bell sounds her corner catch her and set her
on her stool.
Julianna prances to her corner her hands raised high while
Jennifer Connelley is giving Florence an ear full. Some new
strategies are made and Florence is toweled off.
Round 2:
Florence is not coming out the aggressor this round and is set
in the middle of the ring waiting for her fleet footed foe.
Julianna is still light on her feet stepping in, feinting then
landing punches then backing way as Florence counters. Sophia is
clapping her hands trying to get Florence to fight but she
stands flat footed like a statue in the middle of the ring
waiting for Julianna,
More coaxing from the ref and some boo's from the stands and
Florence moves forward but this isn't working much better as
Julianna is lighting her up and Florence is wildly hitting air
as she is exerting more energy looking to end the fight with a
single punch. Unfortunately for Florence none of her punches are
coming close and Julianna's punches are taking their toll.
Florence has some swelling under her right eye and there is some
blood dripping from hr nose as the output from Julianna is
increasing. Finally Florence eats a few sharp jabs then lunges
forward grabbing Julianna around the shoulders. She pushes her
into the corner and lets her hands fly. A hook to the ribs and a
punch to the belly button make Julianna grunt but her follow up
hooks are taken on the arms and Julianna slip under a cross and
circles out of the corner.
With some nice body work, Florence has a little hop in her step
as she sets the trap, waits for Julianna to get in range, then
leaps forward but this time Julianna was ready and Florence eats
a massive uppercut to the chin. Her legs wobbly and her hands
reach out as she tries to catch herself. Julianna sidesteps and
unleashes left and right crosses that jolt Florence's head from
side to side. She slips back into the ropes and Julianna steps
in and goes body landing hooks to the ribs and uppercuts to the
rack and Florence is in big trouble. Sophia steps in and gives
Florence a standing 8 then decides to give the Hellfire rookie
one more chance.
Julianna is all over Florence landing punches at will while
easily slipping counters. She traps Florence in a a corner then
goes back to the body concentrating on the stomach. Florence is
folded over and her butt is sitting on the middle rope and the
hooks are coming non-stop. Florence spits out her gum shield and
falls on her butt as Sophia steps in and pulls Julianna away and
waves off the fight.
Julianna Grace Leblanc win by TKO due to body punches at 4
minutes and 8 seconds of the 2nd round.
Post Fight:
Joe Rogan steps into the ring and breaks up the celebration.
Joe: Julianna, that was an amazing display tonight. Where did
you get all of that energy?
Julianna: Well, you know, Joe. At the Wannabee camp we work on a
lot of things and cardio and conditioning is one of our
priorities.
Joe: But you also showed that you have a lot of skills out
there. Is boxing something that the Wannabees work on?
Julianna:I think we proved ourselves so far. We should be 9-0.
Sammi Hanratty got in a lucky punch. Sadie had Sammi's number
all night and Genevieve beat the living snot out of Laura Marano
but Laura held in there and came back. Anyone other than a
stubborn Marano sister and Genevieve wins. Elle Fanning upsets
Alexis Ren, Anna Cathcart whips Kierman Shipka and what more can
I say about the Barbie Killer. Francesca literally beats
Victoria Justice into retirement. Beat Dove Cameron into
tomorrow, takes Joey King to the cleaners and doesn't even break
a sweat when she beats the crap out of Madison Beer. What do you
think, can the Wannabee's box?
Joe: I would say so. You have Mackenzie Davis as your next
opponent. Will you employ a similar strategy against her?
Julianna: I'm not going to give that out right now but Mackenzie
is a bit dinged up after her fight with Livvy. We'll see how she
comes out and go from there.
Joe: Good luck, Julianna. Ladies and Gentlemen, your winner,
Julianna Grace Leblanc!
