Hopeful Guy
Mort
Ramix the Red Ace
Sainsbo
Shadows Morgenstern
Veranex
aerdin: *Nodnod*
Faerdin: It's alright, Sains.
Faerdin: Time to start, I suppose. :)
Faerdin: Let's start with the easier topic: The Ultimate Unity
Forum.
Veranex: APR is a go for that, how did it go with BoH and TCGs?
Faerdin: It seems that every clan is in agreeance that creating
an Ultimate Unity Forum is feasible, right?
Mort: Everyone agreed to it yes.
Faerdin: *Nodnod* BoH has uncontested support for it.
Elryn: Basically, VELOX version 2?
Sainsbo: APR's vote was unanamous
Faerdin: Oh no, I don't think it will be like VELOX at all.
Elryn: Goal then?
Mort: Yeah, this time it is going to be more like a direct
communication system for everyone.
Faerdin: It will be similar in that we will have a
communications center so that we can handle cross-clan business
more easily, as well as be able to send PMs to each other more
easily,
Veranex: And it also means less forums to check in total
*Elryn nods
AsmodeusCain has joined The_Celestial_Guardians.
Elryn: Sounds good
*Elryn eyes Cain
AsmodeusCain: Allo
Mort: Hello Cain.
*Elryn grins and bearhugs
Veranex: Hey Cain
Faerdin: But I'm also hoping for other Forums. Things like Games
Forums, Debate Forums, Discussion Forums- things we can use to
be closer to one another.
AsmodeusCain: how do I make my text colored?
Mort: Correct.
*AsmodeusCain color?
Ramix: Testing
AsmodeusCain: guess not...
Faerdin: There is a little box on the bottom. :)
Ramix: Theres a box on the bottom
Mort: The color box next to the underline, Bold, and Italics
buttons.
AsmodeusCain: pink!
Ramix: sorry I was afk for a bit
Ramix: hi cain
Faerdin: Now, Hopeful went and created an Ultimate Unity Forum,
which is actually good since we know now without a doubt that
the name isn't already taken.
AsmodeusCain: anyway, hi errybody
Faerdin: Should we continue using that UU Forum?
Mort: Why not?
AsmodeusCain: eh...
Ramix: I just finished scrolling through and my opinions are, in
order: Yes we should've sent out an agenda, like I said. The
idea is good, and to what was just asked, I think we should
check it out first
AsmodeusCain: is our own activity high enough that we can create
a mixed forum?
Veranex: I haven't seen this forum you guys are talking about
._.
Ramix: Veranex presents the key point
Ramix: We don't know about the forum
Sainsbo: It's linked in the thread on the TCG forums
AsmodeusCain: what you gotta realize is that to most people,
activity is a finite resource
AsmodeusCain:
HTML http://ultimateunity.createaforum.com/
AsmodeusCain: here's the link to it
Ramix: Is it the same create-a-forum format as our TCG forum?
Mort: Yes.
AsmodeusCain: yeah
Dragonknight has joined The_Celestial_Guardians.
AsmodeusCain: hey DK
Dragonknight: Okay, Finally In.
Ramix: Hi
Ramix: links not working btw
Ramix: ah there we go
Faerdin: It really sparse at the moment, but really just there
as a placeholder.
AsmodeusCain: brb
Ramix: Ok well, who would be managing the forums?
Veranex: Could use it as a test right now and get started to see
how well it works out
Ramix: I agree with Veranex
Elryn: Cain: The idea is to have it substitute the various
communication forums in the various forums to have one
centralized place
Sainsbo: I think it was the leaders of all the clans who would
have equal powers there
Ramix: I was about to suggest a trial period for it
Veranex: Ramix, please, call me Vera ^^
Elryn: So instead of difficult back in fort between several
places for communication you have one centralized place for all
the clans
Elryn: Less boards to tend to
Faerdin: Wait a sec.
Faerdin: Everyone stop for a moment. @_@
Ramix: I'll call you Vera, like my very favorite gun.
HopefulGuy: Hello everyone. I was away for a few minutes.
*Ramix just snuck in a witty reference, and agrees that things
are moving rather quickly
Mort: Everyone, stop.
Faerdin: Anywho, back to the matter at hand:
Mort: Xat can get invaded you know.
Ramix: What IS the matter at hand?
Faerdin: Will all Captains from each clan have administrative
power in the UU Forum?
Mort: UU forum.
Ramix: Yea, but it DOESNT
Veranex: Fae, I would like that
Ramix: So captains are in charge then?
Veranex: And to be honest
HopefulGuy: I would say yes.
Ramix: Makes sense, I agree.
Veranex: I would like if Lts and Wardens would be like mods
Dragonknight: I agree. It DOES make sense.
Veranex: And then our normal members are just normal members
Mort: I am sure we can work that out Vera.
Ramix: Yes, we councillors/lieutenants/wardens should be mods.
HopefulGuy: Vera, that means half the members are mods though...
HopefulGuy: Considering that we all have serious inactivity.
Veranex: True
Veranex: But I sorta think it may not be super fair if it was
just captains getting all the power, you know?
Sainsbo: I don't think we really need lt's and such to have
powers. I doubt many people will need to use the powers they
have on the forums, we luckily have clans full of nice people
who don't tend to slip up
Dragonknight: Yeah... It would be nice to have powers, but I
dont think its nessisary.
Faerdin: Captains are seen as the highest authority in each of
our clans, generally. I think it is fitting. Dx
Veranex: Alright ^^
Faerdin: And what Sub-Forums do you think we should have?
Mort: Probably a suggestion forum of some kind?
Elryn: Do we need any if it is limited to cross clan
communications?
Dragonknight: I didnt know it was limited to cross-comunication.
._. I thought it was a place we could all meet up and dicuss
things, serious or not.

Re: Meeting of October 5th, 2013
DIR By: Faerdin
Date: October 5, 2013, 3:16 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Faerdin: I don't think it should solely be for executive
communications, though. We can just use it as an easier method
of hanging out with everyone in the Ultimate Unity.
Faerdin: Exactly, DK. Dx
Dragonknight: Like.. I was going to suggest a UU RP area.
Sainsbo: I guess RP forums, Debate forums, and a general forum
would be the three that I think would be beneficial, though I'm
probably missing out a few
Veranex: Contest
Veranex: Would need a Contest discussion and a contest intself
thread, maybe?
Dragonknight: Contest could go under General, when you think of
it.
Ramix: RP area, I love it.
Faerdin: *Nodnod*
Faerdin: RP Forum, Debate Forum, General Discussion Forum,
Contest Forum...
AsmodeusCain: hi
AsmodeusCain: i'm back
Veranex: Do you think there should be a leader's area for it?
Dragonknight: I think so.
Mort: We would need forums so everyone can give back on the
alliance itself. And Vera, I was just happening to be thinking
of a secret board for leaders as well.
Faerdin: Maybe the last three could be put into a "General" sort
of Forum, while RP is moved into a board along with L&L and
Creative Arts?
Dragonknight: Like... Back to the topic OF powers, maybe the Lts
dont need mod powers, but they do have acess to the leaders
area.
Ramix: Yes
Faerdin: And welcome back, Asmodeus. :)
Dragonknight: And I like the sound of of that, Fae.
Ramix: If we're not getting moderation, we need to atleast be in
on the decisions
Mort: I can see that working I guess.
Faerdin: Hm...
HopefulGuy: BTW, for those who this involves who want to have a
look at the Admin features, the password is password.
Faerdin: LOL.
Veranex: *giggles* xD
Mort: How original!
Dragonknight: Features for what? ._. This chat?
HopefulGuy: For the forum.
Faerdin: Oh the UU Forum.
Faerdin: Of*
Dragonknight: Oh.
Elryn: That password is a bit predictable
Faerdin: Ultimate Unity: MASTERS OF SECURITY PROTOCOLS. ;D
Elryn: How abotu youwillneverguessthispassword ?
Dragonknight: we could make it backwords. drowssap
Veranex: Dragon, was just thinking that
Elryn: Or notthepassword
HopefulGuy: Disregarding comments about my incredible security
standards, it can be changed.
Dragonknight: XD
Mort: "42? Was is that?" *Nods* :P
Mort: what*
Faerdin: Alright, so we have a General Forum, an Art Forum, and
a hidden Leaders' Area so far...
HopefulGuy: Business Forum?
HopefulGuy: For meetings, stuff like that.
Faerdin: ^ That would be a must-have. *Nodnod*
Veranex: Couldn't that be under leader meetings?
Veranex: I mean leader forum
Faerdin: We could have Business and Meeting Notes Sub-Forums. :)
Mort: Thinking of the same thing Vera... it sounds like it would
go in the same area.
Faerdin: It could, but I think every member should be able to
discuss important cross-clan issues and view the meeting notes.
Dragonknight: Though, shouldnt regular members need to know the
notes?
Mort: I would think that go into some type of announcement
really.
Mort: Which would lead to that I guess.
Dragonknight: True.
Faerdin: After all, it is those who are not leaders that truly
decide the fate of each clan.
Veranex: And I would think with anything we wanna talk to them
about is a topic for it or something
Faerdin: But I think everyone should have the freedom to propose
any issues they feel need attention. We are not omnipresent or
omniscient. Dx
Veranex: But that can said to us though
Veranex: Or to their leader
Veranex: And then we can tell the others "Hey, so and so feels
this"
Mort: I think a feedback fourm would be more appropiate.
Mort: forum*
HopefulGuy:
HTML http://ultimateunity.createaforum.com/index.php
HopefulGuy: Have a look now. What else is needed?
Faerdin: True, but that also provides the opportunity for (God
forbid) someone to consider an issue unimportant or irrelevant
and purposefully refuse to post it.
Faerdin: If everyone has the power to post issues they are
concerned about, we can remove any doubt that anyone lacks a
voice.
Dragonknight: Alright, Logged in.
Mort: I was thinking everyone would post it themselves really...
Veranex: ^That
Shad has joined The_Celestial_Guardians.
Veranex: To be honest, I think with most of our members, some
would just feel shy about posting some issues
HopefulGuy: Hey Shad.
Veranex: Heya, Lee!
Dragonknight: Hey Shadows!
Shad: *adjusts extremely slowly* ._.
Ramix: Just registered to the forums
Ramix: Hi
Dragonknight: Im still adjusting, Shad. ._.
HopefulGuy: So, all Captains are Admins, right?
Shad: Okay, adjusted
Faerdin: Some may feel shy, but there are a good amount who are
not.
Mort: Yes Hopeful. And Vera, I guess they can tell their leaders
as well to be fair.
Shad: Also may not be able to stay long, do have a staff party
soon to get to
Dragonknight: Alright.
Veranex: But then wait
Veranex: Why do you feel like some people won't post because
they feel like it is unimportant or something, Fae?
Break: Probably goes back to the... being shy bit.
Break: For example. I hardly ever post on forums. Ever. For
similar reasons.
Faerdin: Because it is possible for one person to see an issue
where another person may not.
Ramix: He means that perhaps, and this is just an example
Veranex: Could just encourage people to post anyway, and if they
aren't sure about it, to talk to one of their leaders about it
Ramix: some people view a certain issue as unimportant, and
those people just happen to be the ones in charge
Ramix: so the lower-ranked don't get a chance to voice their
thoughts
Faerdin: Ramix hit the nail on the head.
Veranex: Ooooh...sorry, think I read it a bit different than
that xD
Faerdin: For example:
Faerdin: There is a pony epidemic on the Forums.
HopefulGuy: Guys, can you register please?
Faerdin: I may not consider that important, and other leaders
may not consider it important, but all of our members do.
Sainsbo: Back, sorry about that.
HopefulGuy: I'll make the appropriate people admins.
Dragonknight: I already am, Hopeful.
Veranex: Working on it, sometimes my internet goes from slow to
fast
Elryn: Hmm... Not certain I qualify
Faerdin: I don't either, lol.
*Faerdin facepalms and realizes there isn't a BoH Captain
present
Mort: Although, there does have to be conditions in order to
make sure that everyone understands what the issue is like I
don't know... explaining in detail.
Sainsbo: I'll sign up now
Veranex: Registered
Mort: Elryn, I thought you were a captain however...

DIR By: Faerdin
Date: October 5, 2013, 3:16 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Dragonknight: BRB, really quick
Elryn: Caststarter: I step down recently. Golden is now the
Captain of the balance Pillar
Faerdin: Elryn stepped down from being a Captain and does not
have a specified rank as far as I am aware, but has still been
performing as a leader in the clan.
Elryn: I am still doing a few errands though which is why I tend
to find myself at meetings
Elryn: Not really a leader since Golden is handling that
Elryn: More like helping the Council
Sainsbo: OKay, I've registered.
Faerdin: Same here. Registered. :)
*Elryn goes ahead
Dragonknight: Alright, Back.
Veranex: Welcome back
Sainsbo: Out of curiosity, someome is taking notes, right? :P
HopefulGuy: Got Sains and Vera as admins, who else?
Mort: I see then. Also, please call me Mort. And yes Sains.
Mort: Fae is.
Sainsbo: Ahh, okay.
Elryn: Registration done
Mort: Here Hopeful.
*Faerdin gives a thumbs-up
Veranex: Lee, I think
Veranex: Here is a link, Lee, if you don't have one
HTML http://ultimateunity.createaforum.com/index.php
Veranex: Aaand be right back
Dragonknight: Okay Vera!
Shad: ohhh ohhh ohhh uhh ok.
Ramix: Not to be rude, but how much longer will this meeting
last?
Faerdin: Alright, so we still need the Business Forum (Business,
Meeting Notes), a Forum Game Sub-Forum, Contest Sub-Forum, RP
Sub-Forum...
Ramix: Out of curiousity
Shad: ok i gtg sorry cya
Shad has left the chat.
Mort: Whenever when we have nothing to say.
Faerdin: I think we are nearly done with this point, and then we
just need to iron out some scriptwriting contest details.
Faerdin: Then we can start sign-ups. :D
Dragonknight: Alright.
Mort: Don't want to be too sure on that Fae... anyways, anything
else?
Dragonknight: Don't think so on my part.
Faerdin: Hmm... I can't remember any other Sub-Forum we might
need.
Faerdin: Oh! And a Debate Sub-Forum. I think that's all we need.
Mort: Ehh, I guess. Even though ours is failing... twice.
Faerdin: We could make a thread to generate potential debate
topics, and just begin posting threads on those topics.
Faerdin: Alright, any other thoughts on this subject?
Mort: Nothing on here.
Veranex: Back
Faerdin: Welcome back, sis!
Dragonknight: Wb!
Mort: Welcome back.
Veranex: Thanks
Faerdin: Alright, I suppose that means it's on to the next
topic:
Faerdin: Scriptwriting Contest! :D
Ramix: I have nothing to say on this matter.
Dragonknight: I MAY or MAY NOT participate in it. It really
depends on my freetime. If it happens in the middle of a break,
then I probably will join in.
Mort: Just as a refresher, what do we have on the table for it?
Dragonknight: My main issue is that when I was shown the
discussion page, my eyes were hurting reading the walls of text.
._.
Faerdin: We have a judging system and a schedule:
Faerdin: Judging system:
HTML http://thecelestialguardians.createaforum.com/alliance-communication/scriptwriting-competition/msg8790/#msg8790
Faerdin: Schedule:
HTML http://thecelestialguardians.createaforum.com/alliance-communication/scriptwriting-competition/msg8741/#msg8741
Elryn: Say true, with the amount things I need to tend to, I
will likely not participate in it
Elryn: I simply have too many things
Mort: Alright. Now I guess we can go forwards for rules,
conditions, and the like? And alright then you two.
Mort: forward*
Dragonknight: Well, I'd love to hear the rules and the like.
That's my main thing I am looking for.
Faerdin: That is what we still need to decide on. Dx
Dragonknight: Seriously, I wish i could contribute to the
dicussion there, but I just simply get past all that reading.
Dragonknight: *Can't get past
Mort: Guess we can go for a summary on here...
Dragonknight: I would love a summary of all the current rules as
they are at the moment.
Dragonknight: Which, I know they are subject to change.
Dragonknight: ... Over several weeks? Interesting, I like the
sound of that. Lets those who need time to have it.
Dragonknight: I know, Fae... XD
Veranex: Honestly
Veranex: I'm a little worried about all this planning going into
it
Veranex: And then people ar elike
Veranex: "Nah, don't wanna join up, or I can't, sorry" and then
it crashes and burns
Dragonknight: Well, that's kinda the fear for every compitition.
Veranex: Feel like maybe while we are planning, we actually ask
our members how many want to be in the contest or judge
Elryn: I somewhat mimic Vera
Faerdin: That is going to be the first phase of the contest:
sign-ups.
Ramix: Dragon, the difference is that in this case, it's less a
fear and more a very distinct probability
Faerdin: If there are not enough people to actually hold a
competition, we will know then and there.
Elryn: Mainly, I am not certain that with the current level of
activity between the clans if can be done
Dragonknight: True, Ram.
Veranex: Same, Elryn
Ramix: ^
Elryn: Have gents professed their interests on your sides?
Veranex: Well, only ones that have are the ones that were there
last meeting
Mort: The idea of it is that since we have many writers in all
the clans, that there would be more of a chance of sign-ups.
Veranex: We mostly haven't said much because most of our members
who are active are owners
Ramix: I have no interest in this, personally,
Ramix: So count one writer out
Dragonknight: I have an interest, but I DO have alot going on at
the moment.
Faerdin: Like I said, it's pretty simple.
AsmodeusCain: I can't write screenplays very well, so, I'm out
as well
Faerdin: We hold sign-ups. If there is a good response, we can
go ahead with it. If not, then we hold off for another time.
Dragonknight: Makes sense, Fae. We can always keep that format
around for when we want to use it.
Veranex: I've never done a screenwriting type thing, so I dunno
if I really want to join this contest before even trying to
write like that
Mort: To be honest, if it doesn't work at the first try, it
mightas well never happen.
Faerdin: And Asmodeus, don't let that be what holds you back.
Screenplay format is actually pretty simple and straightforward
when you get the hang of it. :)
*Elryn nods
Faerdin: It's kind of like writing a DragonFable quest.
Dragonknight: I tend to use screenplays as an outline for my
work.
Faerdin: And, if need be, I can post an example of what
screenplay format looks like and explain how everything works.
Faerdin: Which brings me to another question:
Veranex: That might be better to maybe post on the forum before
the contest begins for people
Ramix: Quick question, I need to get some lunch soon-ish, so
aside from the scriptwriting, is there any other issue to
discuss?

Re: Meeting of October 5th, 2013
DIR By: Faerdin
Date: October 14, 2013, 3:56 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Faerdin: We are still giving each member a different genre but
the same prop/line of dialogue/sound effect/location to work
with, right?
Faerdin: And Ramix, I don't think so.
Ramix: Ok well, adios then, might be back later.
Ramix: Ok well, adios then, might be back later.
Ramix has left the chat.
Mort: Unless someone brings it up of course... also, it can
change Fae.
Dragonknight: Wait, what? ._. I though that we were just having
a simmilar location.
Mort: (Which by that the rule itself changes...) Although, I am
pretty sure we have to END at the location we are given.
Faerdin: *Shakes head* The original plan was for everyone to be
given one prop, one line of dialogue, one sound effect, and one
location.
Faerdin: And not necessarily end. The location just needs to be
there at some point in the screenplay. Beginning, middle, or
end. :)
Dragonknight: Ah.. So they had to somehow incorperate it into
their script?
Faerdin: *Nodnod* Inclusion of these elements would also
probably have some effect on scoring, as well.
Faerdin: Like... 5-10 points for each element included.
Mort: I do really like to see how someone can pull it off with
those requirements really...
Dragonknight: Doesnt seem that diffuclt.
Dragonknight: *Difficult
Faerdin: *Nodnod* We just need to decide on the elements to use.
Mort: With one prop, dialouge, location, and one sound effect
though?
Mort: Or am I missing something here that those are suppose to
be unique to the person?
Elryn: I am going to have to go. *waves* Fun chatting with you
lot.
Dragonknight: Cya Elryn!
Faerdin: Everyone gets a different genre. Note, I don't mean
that people can ONLY use one prop, one line of dialogue, etc.
Veranex: Bye Elryn
Elryn has left the chat.
Mort: Bye, and alright then. Sounded like that.
Faerdin: It just means that those are several elements that HAVE
to be included. Additional things can be added. xD
Dragonknight: Eh... The genre thing may throw me off. I mean, it
makes sense so that every story doesnt sound exactly the same,
but im not the best when it comes to certain genres, which could
take the fun out of it for me.
Faerdin: Hm... My hope was that people could stretch themselves
and test their abilities by writing in a genre they are not
comfortable with, but I suppose we could leave out the genre
part.
Mort: Not to mention it can be unfair for those if we have
others who are knows how to write in the genre itself.
Mort: Kill off are...
Dragonknight: Again, it does make sense.
Dragonknight: But really, Im doing this compatition in order to
help out with the sign-ups, along with because I geniuenly enjoy
it.
HopefulGuy: I need to go. Can someone let me know about the
forum boards wanted after the meeting?
HopefulGuy has left the chat.
Dragonknight: Cya Hope!
Faerdin: Hmm...
Faerdin: Should we ask for suggestions for the prop, line of
dialogue, etc. in the sign-ups thread and then decide on them
from the ones suggested while we are choosing judges?
Mort: I think that would be a good idea to do.
Veranex: Question though
Veranex: Is this gonna happen in the UU forum now or still the
CGs?
Mort: UU forum I would think.
Faerdin: Now that we have the Ultimate Unity Forum, it should be
held there.
Faerdin: There is also the matter of the character limit.
Faerdin: What will the preferred limit for scripts be? I heard
20,000 characters, but that might be a little low.
Mort: 25-30K could work if the forum alows it.
Mort: allows*
Veranex: Or
Veranex: They could just use Google Docs and give a link to it
Mort: I think we are talking about a limit so a entry isn't too
long for judging actually.
Veranex: Aaah, oki
Mort: Since you know... AEF did it as well.
Veranex: Well, I honestly know nothing about script writing and
what would be good for length for it, so whatever you guys think
is best
Faerdin: My feeling is that somewhere around ten pages should be
the limit...
Dragonknight: I agree.
Dragonknight: 10 pages DOES sound pretty good.
Faerdin: It's how we wrote scripts in my scriptwriting class.
It's short enough that it does not take a HUGE amount of time to
write, but it is long enough to tell a decent story. :)
Mort: I can see that happening yes.
Dragonknight: Also, because it is somewhat shorter, it actually
shows much more talent.
Dragonknight: After all, it's harder to write a 100 page story
over a 300, as you have less space to make it great.
Faerdin: *Nodnod*
Mort: Hmm, interesting.
Dragonknight: I actually learned that from a book. Sleeping
freshmen never lie. Good read.
Faerdin: What font size would you guys say this is?
Faerdin:
HTML https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0uK3CPyIeChZlBiTWZhV2JfWU0/edit?usp=sharing
Faerdin: When I say ten pages, I imagine that being the font
size. It would be ten pages in that program I linked way back,
Celtx.
AsmodeusCain: well lads, I gotta go
AsmodeusCain: sorry I couldn't be much use in the meeting, but
my mom has me running errands
Mort: Bye.
Dragonknight: I have no clue what font size that is. ._.
AsmodeusCain: and now, she needs me to go shopping with her....
AsmodeusCain: so, bye guys!
AsmodeusCain has left the chat.
Mort: Seems like the font size AEF uses to me.
Faerdin: I would ask if everyone that entered the contest could
use Celtx as a point of reference for script length, but I can't
just ask everyone to download a program like that. .-.
Veranex: AFK sorta, I need to do some things real quick
Dragonknight: I tried Celtx. Admitidly? I prefer just pen and
paper for me.
Dragonknight: And Okay Vera!
Faerdin: I can understand that.
Faerdin: Hm...
Mort: Hmm, could KB be a reliable measurement?
Faerdin: I'm not sure, honestly, lol.
Faerdin: We could just say ten pages and see where that takes
us, but that could get kind of crazy.
Mort: Since no one has a understanding how long ten pages is?
Faerdin: Exactly.
Faerdin: Hm...
Dragonknight: Why is ten pages long hard to picture? ._. Just
type it out until you get to ten pages.
Mort: It is really isn't that simple.
Faerdin: Ah!
Mort: Unless you are willing to waste paper and use Word...
Faerdin: I think Celtx just uses 12 point font, Times New Roman.
Dragonknight: I am. XD
Faerdin: How about 10 pages with 12 point Times New Roman?
Mort: Could work I guess.
Dragonknight: I like it.
Faerdin: Vera, Sains, Had? Any thoughts?
Faerdin: Wait, Vera's AFK. .-.
Mort: And so is Break and Sains... it was just the three of us
here.
Faerdin: @_@
Dragonknight: It's possible had has fallen asleep on his
computer. Been feeling tired recently.
Sainsbo: Sorry Fae, I haven't been paying all that much
attention. I can't figure out some chemistry, and I have a test
Tuesday <.<
Mort: Oh hi there...
Faerdin: It's alright.
Sainsbo: I'll scroll up quickly and take a look
Faerdin: And I think this is the last thing we should iron out:
Faerdin: How many points should each element be worth?
Faerdin: Setting them each at 5 would make them worth 20 points,
and at 10 each they would be 40.
Dragonknight: Not sure. 1-10, including half percents.
Dragonknight: Main reason is to avoid ties.
Faerdin: The current score total without the inclusion of those
elements is 100.
Mort: Hmm, I think we might need to put a seperate amount of
points for each one since each one is not as easy as the other
such as dialouge to sound.
Faerdin: Hm... What do you think their order of importance would
be?
Dragonknight: Not sure.
Faerdin: I'm thinking line of dialogue -> prop -> sound effect
-> location.
Mort: That sounds about right.
Dragonknight: Hmmm. Yeah, I think so.
Faerdin: So... Maybe dialogue could be worth 20, prop could be
worth 15, sound effect 10, location 5?
Dragonknight: Hmmm.. Alright, that could work.
Faerdin: That would make a total of 40 for inclusion of those
elements and score of 140 in total. :)
Mort: I guess that could work
Sainsbo: I'ma head out. Sorry I wasn't able to participate much
guys.
Mort: Bye.
Faerdin: Well, I suppose that's it.
Faerdin: See you, Sains.
Sainsbo has left the chat.
Mort: Would it be a good idea for those four thigns to have a
meaning to them as well though and not just something random?
Mort: thing*
Faerdin: Being something random would challenge the writer by
forcing them to ask, "How am I going to include this in my
story?"
Mort: No, I mean that they having some type of meaning to the
events of the story itself.
Mort: have*
Faerdin: Oh, like a general theme that every story needs to
follow?
Mort: Not every story but that coincides to the theme yes.
Dragonknight: Hmm. Makes sense.
Faerdin: Hm... Having a theme for the contest could provide some
sense of structure since there will not be a genre-limitation,
but the lack of a theme may produce more varied scripts.
Dragonknight: ........ Thats true as well.
Mort: I was thinking that each story have its own seperate theme
actually...
Break has left the chat.
Dragonknight: Hmm.. I dont agree with a seperate theme. I feel
that people need some structure, but a different theme really
could cause some stress for writers.
Dragonknight: It's like, you give a broad theme and everyone can
give something unique. But everyone with their own broad theme
kinda eliminates the point.
Faerdin: Eh, it could really go either way. Some people feel
uninhibited by a lack of structure, other people operate better
with it.
Dragonknight: So, is there really anything else to discuss?
Mort: Nothing I can think of so no.
Faerdin: I suppose not.
Dragonknight: Alright. I will be heading out then. Cya you guys!
Faerdin: Should we just post the sign-ups now, or wait until
someone makes a Contest Sub-Forum?
Dragonknight: Hmmm.. I say we wait until the fourm is complete.
Mort: Bye DK. I say wait so we can iron out everything a bit
more.
Dragonknight: Agreed.
Faerdin: *Nodnod*
Dragonknight: Anyways, goodbye!
Dragonknight has left the chat.
Faerdin: Then I suppose the meeting is adjourned.
Veranex: Gah, sorry about that guys
*Faerdin slams his gavel
