Working from home v's Small unit/office

You start off working from a spare room at home. You may use
your attic or garage for storage, as long as your products are
small enough. Your desk is the kitchen table or small office
desk.
Great ! Cheap , flexible, and you have a 'home life' too. But,
with distractions plus you can't really employ helpers from a
bedroom office !
then,
Your spare room is now being taken over by office equipment -
PC, printer, scanner, filing cabinets, pinboards, table lamps
etc. You can't get your car in the garage or get at your
Christmas tree in the attic
What do you do?
The next logical step is to go rent a small office, unit or shop
with low overheads but plenty of storage room. But even cheap
costs a lot of money.
What are the alternatives?
1. Build an extension, bigger garage or conservatory, but
expensive
2. Get a great big garden shed, but not secure
3. Borrow a room in a friends or relatives house, but not
suitable for long term.
There don't appear to be many choices left - or are there ?
1. Storage facilities - every large town has one these days, a
secure lock up for stock.
2. Storage containers, if you can find secure land, and there
are companies who rent these out on their land for this purpose.
3. Rent un-used space in a nearby business premises - most large
places have an area of unused space.
4. Rent a whole house ! For £400-450 you may be able to rent a
terraced house. You'd need planning, but as long as you have
limited numbers of visiting customers and deliveries, that
should be no problem. That's storage and office space in one,
and a lot cheaper than an office or shop with storage.

i think you covered it all, i recently moved with my partner and
had to give up my garage and 2 rooms my plan was to get a shed
in back garden but area i moved to is a big NO NO for shed so my
options are very limited today even had to close my shop as not
enough stock to justify the shop. now im looking into tiny items
for my next year big profit maker hope that help me save for a
unit in some business centre
