J-19 Nic mod host

Just popped in to say I got the new Trustfire J-19 it's a nice
light but the driver sucks big time. Other than that it's a
beautiful light. The reflectors are deep, deep. I never even
bothered to take it out at night before I modded it. I did a
ceiling bounce and it wasn't even near my Fandyfire SRK. So I
rewired the emitters to series, yep they were in parallel, and
then I dropped in a DRY driver. I didn't do any resistance mods,
not even springs or heavy wires. Now it smokes my SP03 and I
would say it's very close to a BTU Shocker stock. It's heavy but
better to carry than the Shocker as well because of the smaller
handle and better balance. In fact it's balanced very well for
such a big heavy light.

That is one orsm light. It must heat up pretty quick. Do you
think that maybe this will end up with MTG-2's in it? If so
would the dry driver work?

It doesn't really heat up that quick. It gets warm right away so
there is good thermal transfer but it's such a big host that
even on high for a long time it doesn't get hot. I am most
likely going to buy another one and put MT-G2's in it with the
IO driver for 7 leds. I know it will fit with just a little bit
of filing the edges because I'm actually using the top of one
for a contact board. I managed to fry one a while back making a
hillbilly lantern with it. I managed to short the wires when I
was putting it together, rookie mistake.
