How do you make FIRE ?

I usually always carry a disposible butane lighter or two close
by , but for emergency or survival situations I have
experimented with making fire with flint and steel and a bow
drill . ( I am glad I don't have to use primitive tecniques ! )
What sort of fire-making apparatus do you carry ?

I have one of those magnesium blocks in the glove box at the
cars. You never know.

hey langcjl, welcome to tfe, good to see you here.
I just carry a lighter tbh, the only things I regularly need to
ignite are roll ups and oxy acetylene.

I keep matches in every car and place we visit. 20 years ago
everyone had a lighter as everyone smoked but about 10 years ago
we went to our usual hideaway camping and no one had a lighter
or match as everyone there had given up the fags. Lesson learnt.
