DId you not see this little mod I did to create a $2 power
       supply?
  HTML http://www.flashlightemporium.com/non-flashlight-related-modifications/$2-diy-bench-power-supply/
If you have an old working power supply for a computer you are
in like flynn. Mine works REALLY well does at least 20A with
just a 250W supply. If you have a 450W or 500W to use it would
be good for far more. You can couple the 12V outputs for 24V.
Easy mod write ups out there on how to make them variable output
instead of set steps like mine.

I certainly did JohnnyMac. I read it several times. I do have a
brand new 600 watt pc power supply which I've looked at a few
times but I do use it for fixing pc's. I thought with the
variable voltage and current it would be a little more
       versatile.

Thanks ChicagoX. The Mastech with the 2 5 amp, 1 3 amp output
appear to be 110 volt input. In Aus we need 240 volt input. They
do have a smaller one that takes 220 volt input but to me would
       be a bit small.

The Mastech HY3005F-3, according to the Mastech site, is
       switchable to 220v AC.

I dont know what happened to the $110 dollars. I got out off
hospital yesterday after having my knee operated on again for
the third time. This has been about a fourteen year cycle thing.
Needless to say there wont be another like this as there is not
much left to cut out. I've been on cloud nine again for about
the last 8 weeks and took in all the above advice from you guys
and coming home last night on a gut full off pain killers and
what could not be filled with opiate pain killers was filled
with Morphine got on Ebay. I'm in trouble. Somehow I have a
registered mail link to this in my emails.
  HTML http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MASTECH-POWER-SUPPLY-HY3030E-0-30V-30A-Switching-Power-Supply/161067055042?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27%26meid%3D130428952235798594%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D161067055042%26
Somehow I will pay for it and the wife will eventually talk to
me again (I will make the most off this quiet time) but in the
meantime I need to know what I'm going to use it for. Thanks for
       all your help.
