Convoy M1 XM-L Flashlight Review
By: Gun Date: May 14, 2013, 7:31 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Hello Everyone,
So just today my Convoy M1 Cree XM-L T6 3C 2-Group 3/5-Mode LED
Flashlight arrived and I thought I'd make a review. I've barely
done any reviews in my life so please excuse me from the quality
of my review and quality of the pictures, taken by a not so good
camera. I know JohnnyMac has already done a review of this and
obviously it's going to be a lot better than mine, but I thought
I'd do it anyway :o.
So the exact light I purchased from Fasttech is
HTML [URL=http://"
HTML http://www.fasttech.com/products/1601/10002364/1212405"]THIS,<br
/>it's the M1 T6 3C 2800mA version. Not too cool and not too war
m.
The manufacturer specifications can also be viewed on that page.
I also purchased the light with

/>batteries and

/>charger.
Here come the pics! I also should point out that you
should ignore the dates in the bottom right hand corner of the
photos, my sisters camera was set to the wrong date ;).

So it arrived today in a yellow parcel/envelope.

Inside was the torch, batteries and charger all packaged
separately in bubble wrap. The torch came in this small white
cardboard box.

Here is the Sanyo Protected batteries as well as the Trustfire
charger.

The light is actually quite small and can easily fit in your
pocket, it runs on 1 18650 battery. To give you an idea of its
size, I pictured it with an oversized teddy bear.

Only kidding, above is a picture of the torch in my hand to give
a better idea of its size ;).

The light can easily be seperated into 3 parts; the head, body
and tail. The threads on this torch are also very smooth so you
can tell that it is of high quality.

Sorry about the blurry picture, camera didn't focus. This light
has 2 mode groups. Group 1 has 5 modes -
low/med/high/strobe/SOS. Group 2 has just 3 modes -
low/med/high. To switch between the groups, enter low mode
while in either mode group. After about 4 seconds the light will
flash once. When it does, quickly turn the light off then back
on and you will be in the other group. The light will stay in
your chosen mode group until you intentionally change it again.
In conclusion, it is very hard to believe that this is a $20
torch. To someone that has only ever owned a $5 supermarket
torch, this light is simply amazing. I live next to a big area
of grass and standing on my balcony this torch lights almost the
whole area up. This light has great throw and flood and I'd
recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cheap and amazing
light.
Thanks,
Gun :)

Thank you for the review Gun, it's nice of you to share your
thoughts about the light.
I'm glad you're happy with the light, it must be quite an eye
opener if you have only had supermarket torches :)
You do realise now though that you'll have to buy another light
soon, just to see what an even brighter light looks like :D
Congrats on the purchase and when you get a chance, chuck a
beamshot at us ;)

No worries :)
It was I was amazed with the brightness, and I thought my $5
Xstreem was bright!
There's so many things I want to buy at the moment, I need to
balance lights in there as well now! :D
I'll try to take a nice beamshot tommorow :)

Very nice, Gun! So glad you like the M1. It's always great to
hear back from people that buy a light on my recommendation and
even better when they agree with my opinion of it. :)

I cant believe I missed your review here Gun. Like l've said a
fantastic first up review on a lovely little light. I'm just a
little curious that now you have your first serious light what
your next light maybe. Thanks.
