The XinTD mystery ?

I recently purchased one of these in U3. The reason.. Needed
another flashlight... LMAO. Actually I was bored & wanted to
spend some money. The reason I gravitated to this light? The way
people talk about it. The XinTD is spoken about with what seems
to be a reverential awe. But seriously.. What is so great about
this light? For those who own one. What sets this C8 light above
all the other C8 lights out there? Being I haven't received
mine. I am very curious as to the fanatical following this light
has.

Not much that the avarage Joe would notice but from what I can
tell.
Better quality reflector
AR coated lens
8x7138 vs 7135 in most C8
Better pill with more threads and solderable driver
Erm.. not much else I can spot. It's probably the reflector and
glass that makes the big difference lol

I think there is this entire.... "I have to know" aspect of
being a flashaholic....How many flashlights are purchased? With
this mindset.... I HAVE TO KNOW! LMAO

I think the main thing is that most people's experience of a c8
is some cheap c8 off ebay with an under driven next mode memory
driver, crap reflector and poor machining.
The xintd c8 is if you like, the genesis of c8's, the ultimate
off the shelf c8.
As spas points out, its got a reflector screwed to the pill -
best adjustment of focus, its got a nanjg driver, not the best
currently available but certainly the best available when first
specced and the host is not built from the reject bin, its a
good quality c8 host.
I really do have to get one myself, but I'd immediately add a
qlite driver and 3d xp-g2 to build a pocket throw monster ;D

yep, I really like xp-g2's if I want some throw, tbh, I wouldn't
consider using an xm-l now unless I wanted an up close flooder,
xp-g2's manage much more throw, acceptable spill and all at
lower drive current so less heat to deal with.

I think if I was going to do what Gords said I'd just get the
Convoy host as it just wouldn't be worth the extra expense of
the XinTD if I was going to change it up. I've had a couple
C8's in the past, an Ultrafire and a KD, and am honestly just
not in love with the format. C8's really don't do it for me any
longer in the looks department (one of the most boring looking
lights out there, especially the XinTD with it's drab gray) and
in performance they are just a good all around average light but
nothing special. Not a great flooder and not a great thrower.
I really have to laugh at people who think the C8, especially
the XinTD C8, is a thrower because it just isn't. Compared to a
P60 it is but that's really not saying much.
I'm sure that as far as C8 lights go the XinTD is the best but I
think the rebel in me is what has kept me from spending $30 on
one. It's a lot of money for a C8, especially when a Convoy
version can be had for far less. I also tend to avoid
[s]lights[/s] anything that others refer to with reverential
awe. I despise Apple products with a passion because I worked
with a bunch of fan boys who would have blown Steve Jobs if
given the opportunity. Everytime Apple came out with something
that they stole from something else that was available years
earlier they would act like Apple invented it and was the first
to implement it. It made me sick. I have to admit I kinda feel
the same way about the XinTD. I guess I'm silly that way. ;D
