Hello, I'm Gun!

Hello!
I'm Gun, my real name is Sean. I live in Australia. I've only
recently gotten into the hobby of flashlights and have signed up
for several forums, including this one! I found it in Dale's
signature on BLF. I'm planning on purchasing either a SkyRay
King or a Sun ZT-T08 this week. I'm also interested in lasers
and I'm currently building one.

Hi Sean, it is always a pleasure to welcome a new face and a new
aspiring flashaholic :)
I'm glad you could join us and it's certainly a pleasure to have
you aboard.
I think you have amde an excellent choice on both of those
lights. The S-King will pretty much blow your mind if you
haven't had a light of that calibre before, the sheer amount of
light is astounding.
Another good choice in the ZY-T08, if like me you're inspired
more by thowers (I have to admit to being a thowaholic :D ) then
this one will throw a beam over a huge distance. In most cases
it's further can you can reasonably see without Binoculars lol.
When they arrive, please let us know your opinion of the
lights.. and we always like beamshots too :)

Yes I think they're both great lights, the only torch I've ever
owned is probably a $5-$10 supermarket one. I'm still un-decided
on which one to get, purely because the SkyRay plus batteries
and charger might cost a bit too much for me, and I heard it
runs very hot on high.
Does the ZY-T08 have a little bit of flood to it as well? Don't
get me wrong, I love throw, but I would also like it to have
some flood.
Once I get one of the lights I'll be sure to post a review with
loads of pics :)

Hi Sean,
I don't own a ZY-T08 myself but I think JohnnyMac should be
along shortly. I know he owns or has owned one so will be able
to give you some better precise details.

If you're after a more useful flood without a little less throw
then the XinTD C8 might be your better option. It has a slight
smaller head diameter than the ZY-T08.
I don't think you can go wrong with a XinTD C8 either becuase it
does have a bit of a legendary status. To be honest you can't go
wrong with any of the Convoy C8 variants from what I can tell.
They are fantastically well designed and excellent value for
money.
They are also a good host for future upgrades (within reason) :)
I'm not sure if you have seen it yet but here is a great review

The one important thing to note in this review is the light
reviewed uses a Quality driver with excellent mode spacing. It
also drives the emitter on high at 2.8 amps (providing your cell
can deliver) which will certainly help the XM-L show it's true
potential.

to lights. I do try to fight the urges but rarely manage to in

the XinTD C8 :)
Yeah AMK, I'm the same as you. I've been interested in lasers
for a while and then I stumbled across lights on LPF, now I love
them :)

hello gun and welcome ti tge forum I have a zy-t08 and yes it
does have both usefull spikk and throw, it is also easioy
modded if need be. The x48 btd is a believe an excellent light,
its one I keep meaning to picj up but tge end up distracted,
another thrower to look at is the convoy l2 from fasttech, I
loce my personal build I completed earlier this month, another
triple to look at is the dry from cnqg but definitely ger good
cells for that one.
