How on earth did I miss those beamshots ! wow that's a crazy
amount of light..
Which cells is that 18650 ? 40 minutes on high is impressive. So
does the driver regulate the current in real time to keep the
max temp constant ?
Funny about the Police 3D mag. I'm curious to see a hand shot
holding the light for scale :D

I was using Panasonic 3100 cells, and the module will dim the
light as-needed to maintain the target set temperature you
choose.
Along with the user-programmable modes (up to 16, including
ramping) this temp function makes for an amazing, powerful, and
flexible unit. PilotPTK has a winner here, IMO.
I'll take some in-hand shots shortly.

That is win on so many levels, thanks for the hand shot's it's
good to see a size perspective. I haven't seen that host before,
is that your design and build too ?
Regarding the MCPCB, I'm assuming the entire board is made of
copper with all the driver components naturally sharing the
heatsink to ? That's a genius approach makes you wonder why
nobody else does the same with their board designs in a multi
emitter light.
Working it back, the emitters are pulling roughly 1200mA (before
efficiency losses) each before thermal regulation cuts in ?
(just rough guestimate)

Each LED pulls 3.2A at max power, but with the NW binning and
optic losses it decreases output to around 2000 out-the-front.
Brightness will be maintained until the set temp is reached,
then the light decreases brightness only as much as is required
to maintain that temperature.
The host is the CNQG "Longrun" light, minus the guts. I have
seen near-identical hosts with the name "Magic Wand" and "Magic
Scorpion" as well.

Ahh okay. Now I'm confused though, I thought you were running in
series at approx 40 watts. My bad
I'm thinking 3x cells under load approx 11v x 9.6 amps would be
closer to 100w or am I way out here ? lol

The cell holder is at 12.6V, fully charged, and draws 3.2A
12.6V X 3.2A = 40.32W total
Three cells in series powering three LEDs in series.

That makes more sense, it's no wonder my calculations have never
worked out LOL

IIRC, FlashPilot didn't use a copper PCB for all the components.
Everything is on a special semi-heat conductive board. It's
just super thin so the heat from the emitter passes through.
Not the most efficient but not designed for over driving. It's
ample for what it does but not something you'd be modding for
overdriven output. The nice thing is everything is in the one
piece (driver and emitters) and he has software you can use to
customize the mode programming literally to anything your heart
desires (number of modes, mode order, and output in each mode).
