Re: From a Land of Ash and Flame

The Gamaliel left the battle with only its exoskeleton having
received much damage. Three Streonian Destroyers were lost, and
the Avarflet was gone.
Esclanfal contemplated following that smaller craft, but figured
that there was no point in doing so. This Empire he had come
into conflict with had become a challenge for him to face. If he
could crush that Empire and surpass what they had conquered, he
would be the greatest King that Streonia had ever had.

Compared to New Coruscant's ships, Idahrian battlecruisers were
smaller, but had more weapons and were faster. They were
converted subs, after all. The Queseon was the largest of them,
now sporting two ion cannons on the top of its hull. Its
original armor had also been upgraded with several different
alloys.

"Teleport pad?" Captain Paellyn shrugged to the rest of his crew
members as the pilot, Tethys, tugged at the reins of the
Häger-class scout. At the landing pad, assuming there is one,
the Galatea landed rather ungracefully, skidding close to the
pad's edge. The crew however, seemed unfazed. Albeit tensed up
after escaping the first battle they had ever seen.
While the rest of the Astelle stayed to make repairs to the
damaged ship, Artin hopped off and went for what he thought was
the teleport pad, holding his helmet against his side. As he was
transported, he glanced back once more to look at his ship which
was hardy enough to have survived all that fire. His crew needed
more training, it seemed. As evasive movements weren't that
effective when you were just turning the reins left and right.

Having arrived at Teleport Pad 14C, the Idahrian was greeted by
none other than Emperor Askaari and Emperor Gearan in person.
"Please Captain, give us your report. We are eager to hear what
you found." Askaari started without hesitation.

Captain Paellyn bowed to both Emperors upon seeing them, and
stayed that way until Gaeran telepathically told him to rise.
His hand was upon his chest as he spoke, and his tail waving
about as he recalled what had happened in the other star system
"Your Highness," he faced Askaari. "The reconnaissance ship sent
to assist us was destroyed by the opposing forces. We are not
currently aware of just how many there are of these enemy craft,
but the larger ships you sent seem to have lost contact as
well." the Captain reported rather grimly, as he wasn't sure as
to how to react to all this. He had never seen so much death in
his entire life.
"This isn't good, Ram. Clearly they are superior in numbers..."
said Gaeran worriedly. His tail began to flick about wildly as
well, so hard that sparks of electricity were jumping from it.
"Oh, and also, your Highnesses. We have confirmed that they
possess some kind of weapon which destroys planets within
seconds..." Paellyn added, and Gaeran turned to Askaari.
"You've never told me there were such weapons, Ram... What are
we to do now?" he asked. He was clearly worried, and now
suddenly wanted his son back in case these people were in
Anithea as well.

Ram thought for a moment, looking down at the floor as if the
answer were there.
"Gearan, you are a telepath so you will join me on my command
ship, the Super Star Destroyer Emancipator. It's been upgraded
from an Executor to an Executor III Class with the most advanced
weaponry in this galaxy, its repair systems are Borg technology
so the ship is for all intents and purposes.. invincible. Only a
quarter of our fleet has been upgraded with Borg technology, so
we will take all of that portion with us and leave the rest for
sector defense and patrol. We can't let our borders become
vulnerable with so much of our fleet being dedicated to one
battle. We'll have nearly 800 Imperial V Class Star Destroyers
all with Borg technology, 1600 Victory III Class Star Destroyers
with Borg Tech and 3200 Acclamators without Borg Tech." Ram took
out a communicator and flipped the switch on it. Fleet Admiral
Tillisk appeared as a hologram from the disk.
"Yes ,My Lord?" Tillisk answered
"What is the progress on the armada?" Ram inquired.
"We will be ready for departure once you arrive."
"And you've been listening to our conversation, yes?" Ram asked.
"Of course as you requested, My Lord. All of your modifications
to the Armada are being carried out, what designation shall we
give this battle group?" Tillisk asked.
"Call it... the Omega Squadron, in honor of our use of stolen
Borg technology. We will be there soon, we will be using
trans-warp so be advised." Ram told Tillisk.
"I will alert Omega Squadron of your arrival, will you be
bringing company?"
"Yes, Emperor Gearan is accompanying me on the command ship.
Please plan the reception accordingly."
"Yes, My Lord." Tillisk bowed low and the hologram winked out.
"Gearan follow me please, I will inform you of our current
strategy on the way. We should be to Idahria shortly." Ram began
walking down a corridor. "We only use the Trans-Warp conduits in
emergency situations, since it's only a little faster than our
hyper drive. Our shuttles are built to withstand the stresses of
the Trans-Warp, but we try not to use it because we never know
if there are still Borg lurking somewhere silently upgrading so
they can destroy us. We should be safe, considering we have not
seen the Borg in nearly 20 years and the Trans-Warp conduits are
slipping into decay.. which is exactly what we ant to happen. If
the Trans-Warp conduits collapse, then any Borg remnants will be
stranded wherever they may be hiding." They were now in a very
busy shuttle bay, Imperials bowed to both of them left and
right. They soon entered a shuttle and sat down, a few
Stormtroopers with shiny new armor also sat in the shuttle and
there were a handful of some very fresh looking, extremely
nervous officers.
"I take it you all graduated today, and made the decision to
ship out as soon as you graduated." Askaari asked fresh bunch.
"Yes, Your Highness." A Stormtrooper stood and bowed low, "it's
an honor to be in your presence."
"I see they're skimming over the military etiquette portion of
your training nowadays. When the Emperor is in military dress,
you call him Sir and give him the same customs and courtesies as
any officer. So relax trooper, take a seat and enjoy the peace
while it lasts. You happen to be assigned to the Omega Squadron,
the largest armada we've assembled and we're using Borg tech.
You'll be serving under the finest officers the Empire has to
offer, and I will personally be commanding this battle. You have
nothing to worry about." The shuttle left New Coruscant and sped
toward space, once in orbit a sickly green portal opened and the
shuttle entered. Along the way through this green-gassy looking
space the shuttle rocked about as the inertial stabilizers tried
to compensate for the gravimetric disturbances in the Trans-Warp
conduit.
"I know I'm rushing you along here Gearan, but in this situation
time is of the essence. Since none of your vessels in the armada
have the regenerative abilities that ours have, your ships will
be running fighter screening. Your ships will position
themselves out of the line of fire of the Streonian ships,
essentially hiding behind our Star Destroyers. Our ships will
concentrate their fire on the Streonian warships, each ship will
be engaging its Streonian counterpart. Your ships have already
been assigned to our Star Destroyers accordingly, their captains
will have to position their ships just enough so their gun
batteries can shoot across the decks of our Destroyers and take
out incoming fighters. Everyone in the armada has been briefed,
this was something we planned out long ago when we became allies
if we ever had to fight like this. Your star fighters have been
integrated with our TIE Fighter wings as well as the bomber
wings. I have to say, this is the most integrated fleet the
Empire has ever been a part of.. brings a tear to my eye."
