Commencement Address at the Imperial Academy of Military Science
By: The Empire of Fo-20 Date: November 12, 2014, 4:13 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Location: New Coruscant
Date: 3/7-10 AIA (After the Imperial Acquisition)
A large formation of fresh new Imperial officers stand at rigid
attention as Emperor Ram Askaari IV approaches the podium to
speak.
Emperor Askaari wears his finest Imperial Navy uniform,
emblazoned with medals from multiple wars.
"A new age is upon us. Not long ago we made a close alliance
with the Empire of Idahria. This alliance created an
unprecedented state of security for New Coruscant. With Idahrian
resources and manpower now being aided by our technology we were
able to worry about other pursuits besides that of protecting
our numerous allies that cannot do so themselves. Idahria was
that ally that finally took some weight off of our shoulders and
allowed us to expand our empire into what it is today. When we
arrived we were battered and beaten by a devastating Borg attack
in the Origin Galaxy that left us stranded here, we knew no one
and had nothing. The natives of this planet were liberated by
what little forces we could spare at the time and we formed a
family bond with them after that war had ended."
Askaari pauses momentarily to catch his breath, "If it were not
for the Idahrians we could never have been free to expand into
the true empire we are today. WE went from twenty two to having
over 200 Star Destroyers, we have upgraded all of our technology
with Federation technology and I'd say we're far superior than
any other military force out there. You men who are now proud
officers of the Imperial Navy will soon be given assignments to
Army and Navy posts throughout the Quadrant. Remember that your
men come before all things, your life now is to take care of
your men and lead them to glorious victory!!" The crowds cheer
so loud the ground shakes, "You are are present and future
leaders, you are the Empire. Take care of your enlisted
personnel and lower ranking officers, treat them with respect
and kindness as I treated mine when I was a Commander in the
Imperial Special Forces flying under the flag of Emperor
Palpatine's Great Galactic Empire. My own daughter attended this
academy and stood where you now stand, she is one of the finest
officers I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I hope you all
strive for perfection, fairness, to be just and resolute in your
defense of the Empire. I believe we have a guest speaker, may I
present my good friend, Emperor Gearan of the Idahrian Empire!"
Askaari claps his hands as Gearan approaches the podium, Askaari
shakes his friends hand and takes a seat behind the podium with
the other dignitaries.

"Thank you, Sir Emperor," said Gaeran, hovering up so that his
upper torso was above the podium. He was quite short, after all.
He looked on at the crowds in front of him and realized what a
harder audience it was to speak to compared to his own back on
Idahria. It was very different.
"People of New Coruscant, I thank you... For accepting us as an
ally. For sharing with us your technology. As you see now, we've
improved quite a lot thanks to what we have received from you,
from your glorious Empire." then Gaeran seemed flustered,
staring out over the people, unsure of what else to say. His
tail flicked wildly behind him. "As your ally, I can assure you
that we, the people of the Idahrian Empire, will do all in it's
power to assist yours as much as we can." he bowed, floated back
and gestured for Askaari to take the podium again. His face was
quite visibly red from embarrassment...

Emperor Askaari smiled and took the podium again,
"I now turn this over to Fleet Admiral Tillisk, for I have other
matters to tend to. But let me say how proud of you all I am.
Long live the Empire!"
"Huzzah! Huzzah Huzzah!" The Imperials chanted loudly. Askaari
and Gearan left the ceremony.
Askaari and Gearan walked side by side in the Imperial Palace on
New Coruscant. The halls were empty except for the occasional
security guards and bureaucrats racing around with mountains of
data pads in their arms.
"So, how are you liking my capitol?" Askaari asked Gearan,
gesturing with his hand to everything around them.

Gaeran nodded in approval. "It's larger than the Imperial Tower,
definitely, though not as quiet." he said, smiling, "Very
beautiful... Atmospheric."
By now the people of New Coruscant would have known how much the
Idahrians valued the designs and environments of their own
structures. They were very good engineers, creating large,
usually monumental structures by themselves within months.
"You know," he said later on, receding into a state of deep
thought, "when my son Queseon returns, we're going to expand
Noelani. Recently we've discovered a relatively empty star
system. The division I sent there had name it Daleira. There
were a few other sentient species on it, and most of all it had
light, Sir Emperor. Such a beautiful one, too." he smiled,
clearly satisfied of his people's discovery.
"The only problem is..." Gaeran paused, bringing a hand close to
his mouth, "There have been planets disappearing from the star
system. I'm not sure which of the species within the system is
responsible for these occurences..."

"Disappearing? That is disturbing to my ears. We've had similar
reports, rumors mostly, of planets disappearing. The Empire has
no jurisdiction in that sector, so we've never sent our own
vessels out there to investigate. But from what you're telling
me, it may be true that entire civilizations are simply
vanishing. As to how this could be happening, I have no sure
idea. One theory could be that there is some sort of
interstellar plague wreaking havoc there, the people die off so
suddenly there is no time to send a distress call. Another
theory is that someone is taking those systems by force and
suppressing all communications. I cannot be sure of this
situation. We do, however have a small patrol near that sector.
We could perhaps 'accidentally' wonder over there and see what's
going on." Askaari paused as Admiral Tillisk approached and
bowed low.
"Yes Admiral?"
"Your Highness, an Acclamator belonging to Patrol Group 12 has
just entered orbit with urgent information for your eyes only.
They refuse to tell me, they say it is far too important."
Tillisk said with a hint of distaste.
Askaari removed a small round holo-emitter from his belt and
turned it on. A small figure of an Imperial officer appeared.
"Yes, Your Highness? How may I be of service?" The small figure
bowed.
"Patch me through to the Captain of the Acclamator from Patrol
Group 12." Askaari commanded.
In only a second the figure of a different Imperial was being
shown, this time it was a Captain. The figure bowed to one knee
and lowered his gaze to the floor.
"Report Captain." Askaari told the figure.
"Your Highness, we have detected a super laser in use near
Sector 12. We identified it using records of the Death Star, the
lasers power output matched that of the Second Death Star. This
may explain the rumors of planets disappearing." He finished,
still bowing low.
"Thank you Captain for your report. You will receive a
commendation for your actions. Dismissed Captain."
"Thank you, Your Highness." The figure disappeared.
Askaari stood frozen in place with a hint of despair of despair
on his face.
"By the Force, it is worse than I had feared. We must act before
anymore planets are laid to waste. The Empire of the Old Order
constructed two planet sized monstrosities with the power to
destroy an entire planet. Building them nearly bankrupt the
Empire and eventually lead to its horrific decline. Fortunately,
we have technology that makes our ships invulnerable to lasers.
The shields from this galaxy deflect any laser with ease, but I
doubt this weapon is alone, it must have a massive compliment of
escorts. Will the Idahrian fleet join us in battle? This would
be the first war we have fought side by side come to think of
it." Askaari finished, out of breath.

Emperor Gaeran now looked more worried than ever. He shook his
head.
"I don't believe that we'd be prepared for such a battle..." he
admitted.
"What a coincidence..." he muttered, placing a forefinger and
thumb on his chin, "I do wonder who is behind these attacks...
Though I worry more for the expedition squad that I had sent to
one of the planets within the Daleiran Star System..."
Before Queseon had been sent to Iodrillon on the Marulk, a
larger ship called the Faust was dispatched to a nearby Star
System where a new light was found. In this particular system,
three O-Class Planets existed. All were close enough to the star
that their surfaces stayed fairly warm, and at the same time
freezy in some places. Gaeran was so absorbed and satisfied with
these new planets that he planned to start a relocation process,
though Anithea would still be used and occupied by Idahrians...
"We must first find out who these attackers are before taking
action. For all we know they could be a newer, more efficient
opponent. There might be no chance to turn back before it's too
late." Gaeran suggested, looking up at the bright sky. He was
briefly struck with envy, but quickly pushed the thought away.
"I will have a ship sent to assess the progress and technology
of the possessors of this "super laser", then we can decide what
to do from there, based on what our crew can gather..."

"Admiral Tillisk, begin assembling an Armada, I want the
Emancipator to be the flagship and I want all ships fully loaded
with star fighters and marines. I want this treated like a full
scale military operation against an enemy with equal or superior
strength. Emperor Gearan, we will wait to deploy this Armada
until your recon returns. If you would also like to assemble a
force to join ours we will establish common coordinates if an
assault is decided upon."

Gaeran nodded. "I'll inform you immediately of my reconaissance
patrol's report."
The Emperor turned away for a second and brought out a round
device. He spoke while holding it in his hand. He contacted the
captain of his transport ship, the Versace.
"Captain Dari," he began. "I need you to connect me to the
N.N.B."
"Right away, sir." replied the Captain. His voice could be heard
distantly as he asked his logistics officer to establish a line
of communication to Idahria. A little later, Dari returned.
"It's ready for you, sir."
"Thank you, Captain."
A brief moment passed, followed by an electrical beeping, and a
voice was heard.
"Sir Emperor. I heard you wanted to speak to me?"
It was Minister Hekso. Gaeran nodded. "Yes, it's quite
important. I'd like for you to send a reconaissance squad to
Daleira. I intend to investigate on the sudden disappearance of
several planets."
"Understood. I'll have them ready in an hour." replied Hekso,
waiting a moment if the Emperor had anything more to say. Once
Gaeran turned his communicator off, Hekso did as well and went
off to carry out his orders.
Gaeran turned back to Askaari, pocketing his communicator.
"It's done. Though I worry. As we haven't gotten around to
arming out reconaissance ships. They're solely for observing...
They may be in danger unless they keep their distance."

"We could send an Acclamator for combat support, it's a small
ship with only three squadrons of fighters.. but they're our
fastest hyper capable vessels and they won't slow down your
patrol. It would be enough to draw enemy fire long enough for
your patrol to escape, the Acclamator's shields are designed to
take a heavier beating than your patrol vessels." Askaari
offered Gearan almost pleadingly.

The smaller Emperor nodded, though the worry in his expression
did not waver.
"Very well... Thank you, Sir Emperor." he said, looking down at
the ground.
"As you know, hyper space travel is something we have not yet
perfected." he said a little later, "Our ships will have to meet
at Idahria, then from there they shall travel to Daleira, which
is not too far from Anithea itself."
(I guess after the last replies here, we start posting on the
FtLoAaF Thread?)
