       What are factions

       Because the scope of this region will greatly exceed mere
       political parties we will be using Factions instead. A faction
       will represent a major political force in the Star Trek
       universe. Of course each faction will have many members and
       groups within it. While in Star Trek the only "ethnically
       diverse" group is actually the Federation, we are going to play
       a little fast and loose with the others here. So just because
       you are in the Klingon faction won't mean your world is occupied
       by Klingons, unless you want it to be of course, it just means
       you are a similar society. The starting factions will be The
       United Federation of Planets, The Klingon Empire, and The
       Romulan Star Empire. If you would like to create your own
       faction just make a request in this board.
