First off, this is my first post :) So hello everybody.
My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years. We've had our
ups and downs just like every other relationship. Right now, it
happens to be between good and bad. We don't fight, but we're
just not very happy with the relationship. For the past 5 years,
I haven't really had a sex drive and it has gotten to the point
       where he's cheated a few times. Please don't judge, he's still a
good guy regardless. We worked it out and he's been faithful for
the past year and a half. Well, I've been in and out of bouts
with depression and I feel like maybe us taking a break from
being in a relationship would do us some good. We're still
planning on living together because I don't really have anywhere
else to go & im not currently working. We have a 4 year old and
I take care of her during the day till she goes to school and
then i'll be going back to work. Anyway long story short.. I was
wondering if being friends with benefits instead would impact
the relationship. I know, its not much different than dating,
except we would be single and free to see whoever we want, if we
want. But at the moment we don't want to see other people. But
im not sure I want to be dating right now.
We've talked about open relationships, but I think its the idea
of known infidelity that bothers us, while being single means
we're not held accountable... I don't know if that makes sense?
Let me know what you think. Thanks.
