       advice for fighting game novice

       ok, ive never been good at fighting games. in fact ive hadly
       played them.
       anyway, after getting my 360/ps3 out of storage for a couple of
       years, i dusted off my Virtua Fighter 5 360 game.. i remember i
       really wanted to be good at a particular fighting game but never
       knowing which to go for .
       Is there one in particular that is easy to get into, so its fun
       to play as a beginner but gets better the more you learn and
       study the moves?
       do most people who play fighting games regularly use arcade
       sticks? i have a ps3 and 360 so not sure which way to go .. id
       really like to buy a great 2d and a 3d ( as well as VF5)..and
       really sink my teeth into them
       
       any advice which way to go? both with game recommendations and
       arcade stick advice?
