       how to (dirty) dance with a girl

       so I dont usually go to dances and stuff but my friends invited
       me to one recently and it was pretty fun so here are some
       questions I have:
       the approach: When you ask a girl how do you ask? What I did was
       put my hand on her shoulder and ask "hey wanna dance?" or
       something like that and it seemed the more confident I was the
       more chance they wanted to. is there any tips you guys have for
       a higher rate of success? (especially with hot girls w/ bigger
       egos)
       the dance: when you dance do you usually hold her hips or her
       waist? or start from the hips and move up as the song plays?
       I've also seen some people hold hands. Should you be rough or
       gentle? Do you pull her in hard/gently?
       this may seem stupid but i havent been to a lot of dances so im
       fairly clueless
