For those of yu attending training on Monday night the questions
will be:
What was the correct decision for the Bismark v Carter tackle -
and why
(
HTML http://www.rugbydump.com/2013/09/3385/bismarck-du-plessis-controversially-yellow-carded-for-huge-hit-on-dan-carter)
Was the decision re the Bismark 2nd yeloow correct
A comment on the impact of the 2 yellows in the contect of the
game
What were the All Blacks doing at scrum time that should have
been sanctioned and wasnt
The referee was taking a consistent position at breakdowns
(therefore his pattern). What was that position and what was the
impact on the game
Should the Lambie try have been awarded as a penalty try
What would the impact have been if it was

1st yellow card – decision incorrect, tackle was legitimate
should have been play on. From his position I can see why I gave
what he gave although he has the advantage of a video ref so
should not have got it wrong.
2nd yellow card – dangerous play, could have been red. Decision
correct and ultimately the sanction got to the right place with
a 2nd yellow.
Impact of RC - Ruined the game as a contest but that is not the
referees fault
AB Scrum – I thought they were wheeling the scrum to try and
gain an advantage on their ball and to destabilize the SA ball.
Position – He took a midline ruck and as the all moved away he
rotated with the ball but then took a couple of steps back away
from the ball. He put himself on the back foot always having to
catch up.
Lambie Try – No penalty try, he scored and he wouldn’t have
scored in a more favorable position. Impact would have been a
YC.

Martin
Good stuff. cant argue with the conclusions. I thought he had
made up his mind with the first yellow before going to the TMO
so he wasn't listening. His view seemed like he would have
seen Bismark leading with his head.
Like you I thought the second yellow could have been a red in
its own right - it would have been all about how he read the
moment.
