Trophy hunting

Sooo i have been pondering trophies of late. And it could be my
prescription drug induced haze but they seem to be rather
pointless untill you have built up your defensive and offensive
things that are permenant... Unlike trophies that seem to be
rather fickle and ephemeral... One day u have them one day u
dont. May as well not have them at all. My plan was always to
get to level 80 then go trophie hunting mad. However now that i
find myself almost at level 80 my plan now seems overly
ambitious, so much so in fact that im starting to think that ill
never feel ready to trophie hunt. Especially with all the
updates continuously comming out. This thought then makes me
wonder... Surely trophies are the point of the game, to be the
best. So perhaps i should be trophy hunting. But then im
wasting resources better spent elsewhere on improving defence
and offence... So my question is... When is the best time to
trophie hunt. Is there one? Or should we just stay at the
current league we seem to hover at with no effort, for me this
is gold 1. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this.

Well we all like to win its human nature lol.
Having said that its a balance between improvement and getting
in over your head. What came first the chicken or the egg. To
get trophies u hav to hav good troops and to keep them u hav to
hav good defence. Too much trophy hunting and u go from big
fish in the little pool to shark bait v minnow. Balance as u
know burner is important or u get dizzy and sick lol. Baby
steps two forward one back is the key for me. The continuing
cycle of build up then drop down to get the resources to build
up once more, each time taking that one step higher into the
unknown. Clans the final frontier. These are voyages of the
starship lady Di. Who's 5 year mission is to explore new bases
and to boldly go where no lady Di has gone before. (Exit to
quirky 1960s music)

Definitely some food for thought here Burner. As I prepare to
max out Town Hall 6, I have waved goodbye to gold league as i do
not have the strength to raid at that level - keeping trophies
became depressing and often the only thing that kept me hanging
on to gold were other players dumping one archer on me as they
trophy dropped.
I like to see my base improving so I will stick with resource
collecting and let others take my trophies (for now at least)!
