I think that combat will be both more aggressive and also more
long range :/ which in my opinion is bad as all the other
assassins creed game apart from ac3 have been close and discreet

No your wrong C-button it will be close combat because you cant
be an assassin if your long range. That is called an Archer or
Sniper
