Central government consists of two branches--the Aenian Senate,
comprising of four senators from each of the eleven states, and
the Executive Office, which is led by a President elected by
popular vote. The President has his own cabinets of elected
Secretaries, including Secretaries of State and Defense, among
others.
Economic Type: Capitalism
Aenia has a free-market economy but with regulations put in
place for corporations, and a two-tier healthcare system is
used.

Ruling Political Faction: The Aenian Liberal Party[/spoiler]
[spoiler=Religion]Due to Arkaenian exposure over the past
half-millennium, a majority of Aenia follows the Church of Roz,
and considers the Arkaenian king as a holy leader.
The Old Teachings explain of how Roz, the Greatfurir, came upon
the universe as it was an empty plane of soil. He had with him
nothing but a seed, which he planted in the fertile ground. This
seed grew to be a great tree, bearing fruits that were the stars
and planets, out on the far reaches of the branches. One of
these fruits came to be known as the Hostren we all know and
love. Satisfied with his creation, Roz took up residence in the
great tree, so he could admire his work. Though proud at first,
Roz soon became bored and lonesome living in the great tree. He
took a piece of himself and crafted the goddess Resi, whom he
married. All other gods are their descendants, the eldest of
them Valrus. He then breathed into the wind, and his breath
landed on Hostren, blessing it with life. The greatest of this
life was Man, made in the image of Roz himself. Roz took special
care in governing these men justly and bestowing them with many
gifts. As Roz grew older, he became bored with even his new
creations, and took leave of the entire realm, to walk amongst
the heavens for eternity. Before he took his leave, Roz left his
eldest son Valrus in charge of both the realm of gods and the
realm of mortals, as he favored Valrus more than any other of
his children. Baz, Valrus’ younger brother, took spite at this
and revolted, beginning a great war between the gods. This was a
time of chaos and bloodshed, so much so that Roz saw it
necessary to return and sort it out. He banished Baz to the
roots below the great tree, where he would shepherd the lost
souls of cowardly mortals, and those of false heart. He placed
Valrus in charge of Hearthaeven, the realm where brave and true
spirits would be admitted. Roz left again, and the gods have
remained relatively without conflict since.
In 1000 AD, King Edgar I published “The Neuesbuch,” which
consisted of the New Teachings. It is a universally accepted
addition to the religion describing a more modern direct
interference of the gods in the mortal world. It is described
that when the Arkaenians were at their weakest point, and their
race was dwindling, the god Valrus rose from the sea to speak to
an Arkaenian hunting party. He said he would only provide the
power they needed to be reborn as a people to those who would
use it correctly, and he trusted the group as one of the
bravest, most pure of heart in the kingdom. The Arkaenians
accepted and were taught the ways of thriving in their climate.
In return he asked they spread their influence, and his word, by
means of glorious conquest. And so they did. The hunting party
became a band of great warriors, traveling far and wide
spreading their message and knowledge to the worthy, and slaying
peasants in righteous combat. Their message became gospel to the
people of Arkaenia. The leader of the party, Edgar I became the
king of Arkaenia, and a new golden age came upon the kingdom.
Any true follower of Valrus now supports the king is his divine
ruling, and the ultimate conquest of the world as is Valrus’s
will. If they show cowardice as a nation and stagnate, it is
said they will lose their blessing, and once again live in fear
and depravity.[/spoiler][/center]
[center][spoiler=History]Not much is known about the ancient
Aenian civilizations. It is believed in popular theory that the
first humans to settle Aenia migrated from the southern tip of
the continent around 20,000 years ago, using a now nonexistent
land bridge.. The first use of bronze weapons originated from
the Istas Mountains about 6,000 years ago, and iron tools can be
seen developed around 4,000 years ago. The name Aenia, old speak
for “our land” originated from this time.
At 1000 AD, Continental Aenia was comprised of various warring
states. These kingdoms held little power and were frequently
attacked by Arkaenian raiders to the north. In the east, a
series of Arkaenian invasions lead to the conquest of most of
the Aenian land and the formation of ten Aenian-Arkaenian
kingdoms. Over a few centuries, these kingdoms grew to cover the
size of present-day Central Aenia. Arkaenian occupation lasted
for centuries, up until 1537. Forces led by Robert the
Magnificent, heir to the Aenian throne, were able to liberate
and unify the kingdoms in a series of military campaigns. After
a decisive victory at the First Battle of Silvat, The Law of the
Land was signed and the Aenian Kingdom was formed.
With the age of sail dawning across the world, the Aenian
Royalty were eager to send out ships for colonization. It was
around this time that colony ships at the islands of North Point
and founded the port of Anderson. The settlement of the Comona
Islands, Scofield Island, and Rocky Islands marked the
transition of the Aenian Kingdom into the Aenian Empire.
Tensions with the Kingdom of Arkaenia resulted in the Southern
War of 1812. It quickly stalemated and resulted in the Treaty of
Brichta, marking the end of millennia-old rivalries and the
final conflict between Arkaenia and Aenia.
In 1856, when Aenia was rapidly shifting to an industrial
economy, a massive split between the upper and lower class led
to the formation of labor unions and a massive movement to
establish a democracy. The National Strike of 1864 caused the
Aenian economy to practically come to a halt. The emperor Hasim
II, under growing pressure from the entire country, promised
radical political changes over the next decade. In the year
1879, the Empire was abolished and the Aenian Republic was
formed. Over the next decades, federalist movements prevailed
over anti-federalists and the Republic morphed into the
Federation of Central Aenia.
In the 20th Century, the Aenian continent was heavily damaged by
the Perseus Disaster of 1934, when a large asteroid split into
multiple fragments over the continent. This led to an immense
economic crash for all countries and the plunge into the Great
Depression. Following the crash, fascist Eruaenia formed and
grew a menacing military. In September 1938 Eruaenia launched a
blitzkrieg of neighboring Soverign-Aenia and Amber. The
Federation quickly declared war, and the Aenian Continental War
begun. The two nations slowly succumbed to the Eruaenian
firepower, and allied forces retreated to a line of Aenian
fortifications in the Istas Mountains, nicknamed the Tango Line.
The war stayed put until after the winter of 1940, where
Eruaenia began operations with the world’s first jet aircraft.
The Eruaenian air force provided air superiority during a
massive armored operation pushing through the Chopinburg forest,
punching a hole through Aenian lines. Facing imminent defeat,
Allied continental troops retreated to the eastern islands. Over
300,000 soldiers were evacuated to North Point during the Battle
of St. Ark.
During July 1941, Eruaenia began a strategic bombing sorties
over North Point, in order to prepare for an amphibious
invasion. The Aenian Army Air Corps began use of their first
prototype jet fighter, and the Battle of North Point began, a
campaign fought solely with air power. Eruaenian aircraft were
unable to defeat the Allied fighter command, and the air raids
came to an end in September. In December 1941, an air operation
conducted by Aenian aircraft operating from the two surviving
carriers, Fort Grace and Kestrel, successfully crippled the
Eruaenian fleet while they were docked in Comberth Harbor. The
destruction of many Eruaenian ships was a decisive strategic and
morale victory, and the loss of initiative indefinitely
postponed any invasion plans.
At the end of 1941 through 1943, the war transitioned to
Arkaenian territory. The Kingdom of Arkaenia recently prevailed
against a fascist civil war, and Eruaenian forces launched a
massive airborne assault against their northern cities. Arkaenia
joined the war on the side of the allies and all nations
cooperated to push the Eruaenians off the Arkaenian mainland.
Meanwhile, the Aenian air campaign continued on the mainland,
with the Eruaenians beginning to take irreplaceable losses. In
the Siege of Arkata, the Eruaenian Expeditionary Force was
surrounded by defending Arnikan forces and quickly surrendered.
This substantial loss of forces could not be recovered from.
In June 1944, over a million Aenian soldiers participated in
Operation Bunker Shot, the largest military operation in human
history. In the early hours of the morning, Eruaenian forces
near Anchorhead were caught completely off guard when thousands
of troops landed on southern beaches. A massive intelligence
ploy led the Eruaenians to believe that a landing would take
place in St. Ark instead. From this beachhead, Aenian forces
poured back into the continent. In a separate counterattack,
Arkaenian forces landed in the port of Soverign. The Aenian
forces pushed past the Tango Line and met up with Arkaenian
troops at Hentep, and begin pushing towards Eruaenian territory.
The final large battle took place in late August 1945, in the
Battle for Whiskey Corridor. A force consisting of Arkaenian,
Aenian, and surviving Soverign-Aenian and Amberian tanks
encircled routing Eruaenians and forced them to surrender after
a month-long campaign. With a majority of Eruaenian forces
destroyed or captured, the Allied forces threatened firebombing
raids on the capital of Ferbonti if unconditional surrender
wasn't accepted. The Eruaenians grudgingly agreed, and the war
ended on September 19, 1945 with the signing of the Treaty of
Sanfred on the Arkaenian battleship Fist of Valrus. The Federal
Republic of Eruaenia was formed, and stability was finally
brought back to the Aenian continent.
