You can not fit 100 million people where your claim is. Assuming
the map is projected so the north looks smaller it is both too
small and a tundra.
Also your history is too similar to Japan.

History:
2000 BCE - Earliest known records of the empire. Stone tablets
from this period depict the Dragon’s Blessing and past emperors
ruling over subjects
300 BCE - The empire has at this time three neighbours, each
believing their emperor to be the true, dragon-blessed ruler.
The names of these three other heretic empires have been lost to
time.
10 CE - The Time of the Split Soul. There was at one time a case
in which the Emperor’s firstborns were twins. These two
brothers, Fu and Guo, grew up as great friends. However, on the
day of the
death of His Eternal Majesty, both brothers maintained that they
were the true Emperor. In the end, they came to violence over
this matter, and resolved that the true leader would be found
through a duel.
The one who had the Soul of the Dragon would of course win, and
would be crowned the rightful Emperor. It is said that they
fought for three days, neither ever gaining the upper hand on
the other.
In the end, both collapsed from their exhaustion, and slept for
three more days. When those three days had passed, they felt it
evident that the dragon’s soul had come to inhabit both of them.
They ruled the empire together, and it was Fu’s firstborn, the
eldest of either brother’s children, who continued the dynasty.
300 CE - The Rebellion Period. The younger son of the Emperor,
discontent at his role in life, left the Imperial Palace and
became an adventurer. When the elder brother, Hu, ascended to
the throne, the younger brother
led a rebellion, claiming that his brother was unfit to rule.
The rebellion lasted two years, but Emperor Hu finally
prevailed. The younger brother was executed for his most
grievous heresy, in a manner that was considered
too unspeakable to record. His name was stricken from all
records, such that it would never again be spoken and he would
be denied even the remembrance of his life.
1150 CE - Traders make contact with exotic countries in the
west. A trade route opens between the two worlds, silk flowing
from the Empire and rare and exotic spices such as mint and
rosemary flowing back.
1459 CE - The continent of Xinguo is discovered, after great
navigator Zhang Gao acquires funding for a trip eastwards, to
prove that there is indeed a faster route to the Western Lands.
He failed in finding a longer route, of course, but in the
process proved conclusively that the world was in fact a sphere
which could be traversed such that a ship going sufficiently
westwards could find itself back home in the east.
1898 CE - A group of heretics, communists and malcontents,
inspired by the communist revolution in Rocinate, launch the
Seven Week Rebellion.
It is swiftly crushed by the Imperial Army and communism is
outlawed across the empire. Communist societies are shut down
and those that resist are executed.
1939 CE - His Eternal Majesty’s Council of Six announce a
constitution, affirming the basic rights of all citizens of the
Empire.
Rights include the freedom from unjust imprisonment and a set
list of maximum punishments for various crimes.

Changed my history. Afaik, it was also decided by a majority of
the staff that I can fit my entire population on the island.

Clarification for everyone: The map is an EQUAL PROJECTION MAP!
This means polar stretching DOES NOT EXIST. pixels are exactly
156.75KM squared.
