The Death of an Archon

It is with great sorrow that the Grand Republic of Kratiras must
announce the passing of Archon Ioannes Arsenkios, who died at
age fifty this morning after three days bedridden.
The Archon has in the past had a number of intestinal issues,
and it is expected that a formal autopsy carried out in the
following days will reveal his untimely passing to be as a
result of such. Arsenkios retired to his chambers some several
days ago complaining of stomach pains and fever, which swiftly
progressed to more dangerous levels. At his instruction, a
private funeral will be held for family members and important
governmental figures before his remains are cremated and the
ashes spread in the Chimaros in a public ceremony. The Archon is
survived by his wife, four children, and younger brother.
Until such time as a successor is chosen by the people of our
fair nation, the Council of Kratiras will rule with executive
authority. Elections will begin after a brief period of mourning
following the funeral.

Kratiras.
