Twisted Spirits (the rising legend)
Chapter 2. A new friend or a new enemy?
They had made it out of the small town. The girl looked over to
Ice and saw her face which looked as if in confusement.
"Something wrong?" The girl asked Ice. "Nothing... But may I ask
you a few questions?" Ice said curiously. "Um. Sure. I dont
think I will have answers for them but ok." The girl said. "Ok,
first of all, what is your name?" Ice began to ask questions as
she looked over to the girl. "My name? Well I dont know... I
dont remember anything until when I woke up. All I remember is
monsters, and smoke. Green flames, and screams. It was terrible,
I couldnt do anything but sit there. One monster in paticular
grabbed my arm." The girl said as she rose up her long sleve.
"He called me "Little Master", I wasn't sure at all what he was
talking about." The girl rolled down her sleve. "Next thing I
know there was a bright light atop a cliff a bit out of the
town. The mosters then fled. A few stayed but the smart ones
left." She finished. Ice blinked, "A bright light? What were
they possibly afriad of..?" Ice questioned. Bluefire broke the
questions, "How about we call you Kage? Kage Hayashi? That means
Shadow Forest. I saw Kage on the statue we found you at. The
name said Kage, the other part of it was scratched off so I
couldn't read it." Ice looked over to Bluefire, "Sounds good to
me!" Ice said cheerfully. "Now you have a name." Blue said as
she walked at Ice's side. "Im confused... Why do you have ears,
a tail, and you have blue hair." Kage said. "It has to do with
our ancestors according to my parents. I dont think it was true,
but the green flames... How are those possible?" Ice mummbled
the last part to herself.
They had been walking for a while now and a bit hungry. Ice and
Bluefire turned into their wolf forms so they wouldn't be as
cold. "Hey how did you guys do that!?" Kage blurted out. "We
have that power unlike others. We have to keep it a secret or it
might spread everywhere. We dont need trouble." Ice glanced to
Kage for a second and then back to the snow on the ground. "Well
my feet are freezing! Can you show me how to do that?" Kage
suggested. "You have to be special like us!" Bluefire pranced
about showing off a bit. Kage looked to the snow as she walked.
They walked about 3 miles and found a small lake and Kage sat
down on a rock. Ice jolted over and got a drink from the lake.
The water was sparkling and cold, Bluefire followed after her
older sister and did the same.
A snap was heard from a distance. Ice perked her ears to the
sound and growled. From behind the trees, in every direction,
were wolves. These wolves were white, and one blue. "Mother!"
Bluefire barked and yipped as she ran over to the blue wolf.
"Mother, Frostflame!" Ice yipped. "Who is your friend?"
Frostflame spoke in a calm voice. "She is the Twisted!" Bluefire
yipped and barked. Frostflame lowered her head and growled, "Get
her out of our packlands! She is not welcome here! Monsters will
flood the lands, flames will burn the forests! I have warned you
about this, Ice. Why didn't you listen? Did you want to put your
pack into danger, your family into the way of this green flamed
beast!?" Kage looked over to Frostflame and spoke with a quivery
voice, "I dont have monsters with me, nor do I know about green
flames-" Frostflame interupted her, "You dont have to know about
them. They seek you. They need you to become their new master,
to become the dark legend god, Kage-en." Kage's teeth grinded at
the sound of that. "I refuse! I will stop them, I won't give in
to them. I want to make them go away!" Frostflame kind of smiled
at Kage's words. "Fine then. You start tomorrow. Its getting
late, I will train you tomorrow to be a regular person."
Frostflame spoke strongly. Kage looked puzzled, "A regular
person? You guys are... Canines..." Some of the pack members
laughed. They all lit up a bright color and changed into humans
as their features changed. All Kage could think of was "ohps".
"Come on its time to head home. Ice, Bluefire, and Kage, come
with me to our cabin." Frostflame said gradually.
They made their way to a small cabin in the middle of the woods.
It was now dark outside and lightning lit up the sky. "Looks
like we are going to have a bad storm..." Ice said lowly, as for
now she was in her human form. Kage looked to the sky as
lightning creeped across the clouds. It began to pour and they
all went inside. "Bluefire, Ice, show Kage to the guest room."
Frostflame said as she took off her coat and hung it up. "Kage
get to bed, we have training tomorrow. Your going to become a
good human. Then we might help you with your power and how to
control it properly." Frostflame went to her room and closed the
door behind her then went to bed. Ice grabbed Kage's wrist and
took her to the guest room. Then Ice took off Kage's coat and
placed it on the chest at the end of the bed. "Well you herd
her, its time to go to bed. You have things to do tomorrow." Ice
said as she walked out of the room. Bluefire climbed into her
bed in Ice's room and fell asleep. Kage crawled into the bed and
looked out the window as she sighed and watched the lightning
and listened to the rain beating on the window. She slowly fell
asleep.
