       Twisted Spirits (the rising legend)
       Chapter 1.
"Run! Close the gates!" guards yelled. A loud screeching noise
from above flew over head the guards and pumbled into the ground
with a loud crash. A bright green flame spreaded on the other
side of the gate. Guards stood in waiting, some afraid, some
ready. Rising from the flames came a large beast, long pointed
ears, bright white fangs peiceing down, and deep, green, glowing
eyes. "Guard the doors! Dont let the monster into the kingdom
walls!" Some guards fled to the gates of the kingdom and some
       stayed to fight.
Meanwhile in the castle the young queen sat in wait while
holding a misting white diamond. "Hikari kori, I await your
arival. May your light brighten our path, and your ice forever
imprison this beast who has plauged our lands all these years."
The queen lowered her head and closed her eyes as the diamond
layed in her palms. Suddenly a bright blue ring of soft flames
lifted the diamond from her hands and slowly the flames created
a human figure in bright white clothing and a star on each
eye.The queen looked up with hope that the god would take her
wish. "I accpet this challenge young queen. I Hikari kori will
light the way and imprison this monsterous beast." Hikari kori
disappeared in a bright flash of light leaving only a few snow
flakes to fall on the ground.
What souded like thunder was the crashing of the kingdom wall.
Now appearing Hikari kori took the form of a white wolf with
streams of light coming from a few strands of fur on the tuft of
his shoulders. "You will haunt these lands no more Kage-en!"
Hikari shouted with a growl. The beast, Kage-en, laughed for a
momment in joke. "My, my, what has the queen brought out?"
snapped Kage-en histaricly. yet quickly leaping towards Kage-en
Hikari knew he couldnt fight this battle, not yet. Jumped back
the beast Kage-en dodged every move quickly and cunningly. "You
cant stop my rain of darkness. The souls of these pathetic
humans our mine. And that little queen of yours, her soul is the
main course!" Kage-en smirked and lundged at Hikari. Beads of
light instantly surrounded the neck of Kage-en and plundged in
tightly. "Kage-en, you will never awaken again! Shiro sytha
VERUNO!!" Eyes widening as Kage-en had burned up in his own
green flames and became nothing more than a statue the size of
an average human. Hikari fell gently to the ground and faded
into a burst of light that had brightened the skys and released
the spirits Kage-en had trapped beneath the earth. People came
out from hiding and cheered. The queen looked down from the
castle with a slight smile of relief. "Thank you Hikari kori"
she whispered. Guards bravely moved the statue to the top of a
mountain and into a deep cave full of white mist and bright blue
crystals that had grew as they walked by. They placed the statue
of the dark god down inside the cave as the flame of the
lanterns let the way. "Lets go men, I dont he will be a problem
here." The guards turned and left the cave. The statue of
Kage-en stood there, standing tall, a dull expression on his
face, the neclace of Hikari kori wrapped tightly around his
neck. Suprisingly it had not been turned to stone.
       50 years later...
"Found anything Blue!?" yells a young female voice. A yip was
let out by a small dog colored with different shades of blue.
The female human reached her hand to a ledge and pulled herself
up. The dog leaped up and dipped her head down and helped the
girl up. "Thanks" the girl said as she dusted herself off. Her
attention instantly turned to the darkness of the cave. The dog,
Bluefire, looked to dark cave and tucked her tail between her
legs, "W-we are going in th-there?" she wimpered. "Yup!" They
began to walk in and the crystals lit up and were now glowing.
"Sis look!" Bluefire demmanded, "They are lit up!" The girl,
Ice, looked to the crystals,"Thats amazing! But lets explore
this cave to see if we can stay a night here." Ice walked
further into the cave and behind her the crystals lit up. Blue
followed behind ice, watching the crystals light up. They came
across the statue of Kage-en. Ice looked up at the stall statue
of the male god, "Whats with this cave? Crystals that light up
and a statue of some guy!?" her face had a puzzled look to it.
"And look a that neclace he's wearing, its... Different..."
Ice reached up and grabbed the neclace slowly. She grasped it
and the beads shot out now spread in a complete circle around
the statues neck. Ice jerked her hand away from the floating
beads and Bluefire yipped and hid behind Ice. The beads spun
around quickly until they were nothing but a blur and they had
disappeared right before the eyes of the two. A green flame lit
up, covering the statue completely. "Ice im scared!" Blue
yelped. Ice stepped back and wrapped her arms around the neck of
Bluedfire "Dont worry, I wont let anything happen to us." They
both kept their eyes on the flames. The flames began to wear
down until the only thing seen was a young girl laying on the
cave floor, wrapped in old clothing and a large dark brown fur
colar on the colar of the jacket she was wearing. "Who... Who is
that?" Ice stepped forward and Blue had slowly walked by her
side. Ice turned the young girl over onto her back and one of
the first things she had spotted was the neclace. The neclace
had reappeared around this girls neck. "Come on we have to get
her out of here. She is pale and freezing." Ice demmanded. "But
we dont know if she is friendly or not.." Blue said in a weary
voice. "I dont care, come on. She might die if we dont get her
out of here!" Ice put her hands onto the cave floor and a bright
light covered her whole body as her features changed and she had
became a white and bright blue wolf. They propped the young girl
onto their backs and began walking out of the cave. "Lets find a
small fox den or something to stay the night in" Ice suggested.
They walked out of the cave and held onto the young girl as they
searched the moutain side. A couple hours later the sun was
almost at rest. "Ice! Look over there!" Blue yipped. A small
village layed down in the mountain valley. Like a bowl, the
mountain came in and a large patch of grass where the village
sat. "Good eye. Lets see if we can get some help down there.
Maybe theres a nice place for guests." Ice said hopefully. Blue
looked over at her with a look saying "Really?". The young girl
on their backs was faintly breathing. "Oh well come on Blue. We
have to get her out of this cold."
They ventured down to the village and looked around. A little
girl, about six years old, came out of one of the small houses.
"Mommy look!" she yelled. Her mother came out and walked over to
Ice and Bluefire. She put her hand on Blue's head and then
reached over for her collar. "Blue... Fire?" she spoke
cluelessly. She looked at the different shades of blue in her
fur and then looked over to Ice. "You two are not the normal
wolves that roam this valley, but if they find you they wont be
happy. Come in." She said and then had turned her attention to
the young girl on their back. "Who is your friend?" The mother
of the little girl said as she picked up the young girl and
walked into the small house. Her child followed her inside as
the child held onto the collar of Bluefire and led them inside.
They placed the young girl onto the floor next to the fire. Ice
was still sitting outside and she had walked behind the small
house. She stood on her hind legs and the bright glow had
changed her features and she had once again became human. She
stretched and then walked back in the front of the house and
knocked. "Hello? Anyone there?" She asked a bit dully. The
mother of the household came to the door and opened it. "Yes? Is
something wrong, stranger?" the mother said curiously. "Do you
have and extra room? If not i'll just take my dog and ask
someone else." Ice said in a rather stern manner. "Well... No.
My daughter, I, and my husband share a room. We have a young
lady here in the living room and she is rather cold so thats the
only spot left in the house. I am sorry." The mother spoke
rather sorrowful. "Alright then. Blue! Come on its time to go!"
Ice shouted to Bluefire. Bluefire looked over at Ice while she
sat next to the fire with the child. She whimpered and gave Ice
the puppy eyes. "Blue dont look at me like that, come on!" Ice
demmanded and stepped inside grabbing the colar on Bluefire. The
child reached her arms around Blue's neck,"Please dont take her
miss! She wants to stay!" the child pleaded. "Well whats going
to happen when she has to leave tomorrow? Are you just gonna try
and make her stay?" Ice glared to the little girl. "N-no
ma'am..." the little girl faintly said as she let go of
Bluefire. The mother shook her head, "Dont worry deary, we will
get you a dog soon." Ice and Bluefire headed to the door, "Yeah
when that girl wakes up, if she wakes up, find her a good spot.
She looks about our age and we found her in a cave." Ice said
       before she had walked away.
Ice and Bluefire walked up to a medium sized den, that looked as
if it had been used by a mountain lion a while back. This den
was over the small village. The two had fallen quickly and
warmly asleep in the den. Ice as a human with Bluefire as a wolf
laying by her side. The night was long and cold. The next
morning Ice had slipped out of the den and put on her large
coat. Looking down to the village Ice spotted flames. Green
flames. Her eyes widened, for she had remebered the flames that
were in the cave. "Bluefire, we have to get down there come
on!!" She yelled and grabbed Blue by the scruff of her neck,
pulling her out of the den. Blue yawned tiredly not knowing what
was going on, "What, what is it?" Ice ran down to the village
and Blue ran after her. They looked around and saw nothing but
smoke and flames. Ice looked up to see a monster. A moster with
a blade for an arm and tail. It lashed at her and she jumped
back,"Blue, becareful! Dodge its moves!" Blue looked confused,
"Its hard being a dog and dodging stuff! You know that!" The
monster then lashed at Bluefire and had left an open wound on
the side of her arm. "BLUE!" Ice yelled out. Ice gritted her
teeth as she watched Bluefire land on the ground, the snow had
turned red. It took everything Ice had, but she had transformed
in almost an instant and pinned this monster to the ground. "You
will pay for what you did to my little sister!" Ice said
promptly before she had killed the monster. The monster faded
and Ice ran to Bluefire. "Blue, Blue are you okay!?" Bluefire
looked over to Ice,"It takes more than a cut to break me
Icey..." Ice helped her up. "Human form, turn into your human
form Blue." Ice said to her swiftly. Blue sighed, "Im not a full
formed human. I cant turn completely! You know that!" Ice
snapped her words at Blue, "Do you want to get another cut like
that again!?" Bluefire yipped and then a blue light covered her
body changeing her features, or atleast "some" of them. Bluefire
wiggled her tail and looked at her feet. "Ok lets go find that
girl we found yesterday!" Bluefire said excitedly. The two
looked around the small village and then wondered over to the
house they had left the girl. There they found blood. Charging
into the small house wasnt a problem, and they looked down to
see the a young girl still sitting there by the fireplace. This
time the girl was awake. "Are you guys here to help me?" Said
the girl. Ice gritted her teeth. "You did this! You destoryed
this village, you monster!" Ice blurted out. The young girl
almost began to cry, "S-so y-your not going to ... help me?" Ice
began to calm down. "So you didn't do this? Then what happened?"
Bluefire sat and watched her sister talk to the girl. "No, I
just woke up and then there were these monsters that came in. It
was terrifying. I dont know why they wanted to take me... But
are they gone now?" Said the girl."please... Im scared..." That
momment Ice realized what she had found. She found what she had
been looking for, what her parents had been looking for. The
       Twisted.
