       <strong>Tarkan Teveto?lu</strong> (Turkish pronunciation: <a
       href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\">[ta??kan teve?to??u]</a>;
       born on 17 October 1972), simply known as
       <strong>Tarkan</strong>, is a <a href=\"\" rel=\"external
       nofollow\">World Music</a> award winning <a href=\"\"
       rel=\"external nofollow\">Turkish</a> <a href=\"\"
       rel=\"external nofollow\">pop</a> singer. He was born in <a
       href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Alzey</a>, <a href=\"\"
       rel=\"external nofollow\">West Germany</a>, and raised in <a
       href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Turkey</a>. Tarkan has been
       known for the use of sexual and romantic themes in his work and
       has been nicknamed the \"Prince of Pop\" by the media.<a
       href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\"><sup>[1]</sup></a> He has
       released several <a href=\"\" rel=\"external
       nofollow\">platinum-selling</a> albums during his career, with
       an estimated 29 million albums and singles sold.<a href=\"\"
       rel=\"external nofollow\"><sup>[2]</sup></a> He also produces
       music through his company <a href=\"\" rel=\"external
       nofollow\">HITT Music</a>, which he established in February
       1997. One of a few European singers that has managed to span
       chart success over three continents without singing in <a
       href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\">English</a>, the artist is
       also noted for his live stage performances. Tarkan\'s effect on
       <a href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Turkey</a> has been
       compared by <a href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\"><em>The
       Washington Post</em></a> as analogous to <a href=\"\"
       rel=\"external nofollow\">Elvis</a> in America circa 1957 and <a
       href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Atlantic Records</a>
       co-founder <a href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Ahmet
       Ertegün</a> described him as one of the best live performers he
       had ever seen.<a href=\"\" rel=\"external
       nofollow\"><sup>[3]</sup></a> He has also been listed by <a
       href=\"\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Rhapsody</a> as a key artist
       in the history of European pop music, with his <a href=\"\"
