Captain Tobias Westen

Ok lets give this a shot.
Full name of Character: Captain Tobias Westen
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Social class: Lower class / Space Pirate
Class: Adept
Physical Appearance: 6'2" Atheltic build.
Age: 32
Eye Color: blue
Hair color length and style: Medium length blonde hair.
Skin tone and type: Caucasian
Distinguishing marks: Tobias has a rather young and ruggedly
handsome look to him that he is quite aware of and frequently
uses to his advantage.
Personality: Cocky, impulsive, with an over-inflated sense of
ability
Greatest Strength: Sheer dumb luck
Greatest Weakness: Poor leadership skills, the ability to
vastly over-estimate what he is actually capable of, and his
strong sense of self preservation.
Soft spot: Alcohol and pretty women
Biggest Vulnerability: Alcohol and pretty women
Personal History(what affects them): Tobias was all of 22 years
old when the reapers invaded. Born and raised in the Terminus
systems, his friends and he were essentially left to fend for
themselves. They stole when they could from whomever they
could, they fought when they had to. Tobias' own biotics helped
immensely. In fact, over the years, Tobias grew incredibly
adept at stealing things and talking his way out of situations
that would normally get himself killed. Because of this, he has
grown quite cocky and self assured over the years. During the
end of the reaper war, Tobias' crew was too tried of scraping by
the way they were, and longed for a grander future. That future
came when one night, with a combination of sheer dumb luck and a
drunk Batarian frigate captain, they managed to steal their very
first ship. And that was how Tobias' career in piracy began.
Truth be told Tobias was never a leader though. His friend Fank
Hull was the ships captain for the better part of 10 years.
Frank had a way of winning the undying loyalty of his crew.
They'd follow him into the very pits of Hell if he asked.
Tobias was simply the first mate. He rode off Frank's coat
tails, drank all the booze, had sex with all the women. That
was until Frank's untimely death during the raid of a Turian
freighter. The crew had grown semi legendary over the years and
so the Turian government set a trap that ended with Frank and 10
crew members being vaporized. Tobias managed to survive by
fleeing like a coward (Though he'd never admit that) and was
unfortunately made the de facto captain. Tobias was a fairly
awful captain, though again, you'd never get him to admit that.
He drank too much, spent too much of the crew's loot on women
and gambling. He would attempt to go on raids drunk and make
poor decisions that would wind up with crew members getting
killed. The crew put up with his antics for nearly two years
before they decided they had had enough. And so they stuffed
him in an escape pod with nothing more than the clothes on his
back, his trusted sidearm, his antique rapier, and his cherished
captain's hat, and launched it onto the surface of the nearest
uninhabited world they found.
Traits:
Optimist or pessimist? Optimist
Introvert or extrovert? Extrovert
Drives and motives: Tobias has a very romantic view of piracy
brought on by countless old Earth movies that were really his
only form of entertainment as a child. It's also the reason he
carries an antique rapier, even though he literally has no idea
how to use it. His only motivations in life are women, alcohol,
money, and his own self preservation.
Talents: Tobias, for all his flaws, is still very charismatic,
which is in part due to his good looks. Though given enough
time, anyone could see his complete lack of an ability to lead.
He can and has talked his way out of many a near death
situation. He has had no actual formal military training, and
so all his skills have been learned by necessity. Life in the
Terminus systems has left him remarkably good at stealing. His
combat style is more of a brawler than a learned martial artist.
And so if faced with a trained individual, he'd likely lose.
He also never had any formal biotic training. And so his
biotics are more an expression of brute force and raw power than
actually honed and refined skills. But perhaps his greatest
attribute is luck, which is probably the only reason he hasn't
been killed yet.

Heya! Welcome :]
Love the name --Durandal. It's Eliwood's fire emblem sword +__+
but it's also a sword of legend, and either reasoning behind
your name makes you awesome and I am glad to have you :D
This guy looks like a fun and interesting character. Looking
forward to him in action :]

The luck thing was my way of simply explaining how someone so
inept and stupid could survive the things he survived. Make no
mistake, when faced with a horde of zombies or what have you,
this guy is running for his life.
And thanks for the welcome Revan. I didn't know about the fire
emblem reference, but I do know about the sword. Durandal is
also the name of the murderous AI in one of Bungie's first games
called Marathon. They have a thing for naming AIs after
legendary swords (Like Cortana). If you ever ventured over to
the mass effect cnr sub reddit you'd see I'm big into AI
characters.

It took a character built to be near-immortal to even dent him.

A character who I just realized I sentenced to drifting until
