Greetings Free Folk!
Today I went ahead and took control of the alliance, as Winnie
has been out for a couple of weeks. I had sent ravens and msgs
and had not heard anything from her. So be sure to send her
your warmest thoughts and prayers, as we hope that all is well
with her, and she's simply taking a break from the game. Real
life sometimes happens, and that takes priority over any game.
If anyone hears from her, please pass it on!
I have temporarily closed membership while cleaning out the
inactives, so I can have some idea of how many members we
actually have before opening it bacvk up again. If you have any
friends who have been waiting to join, let them know that we
will be opening back up again soon.
I'm not an administrator of these forums, so we might be moving
these to a new place or platform, but I'll let you know. If
anyone knows of some good, free places where we could set up,
let me know!
Officers! We[ve been a disorganized rabble but this situation
points out that we do need a bit of structure just so the
alliance can continue even if something happens to one of us. I
will be looking to promote some people based largely on
participation here, the rook and in the game. And a willingness
to help is also a plus! Most alliances our size have over a
dozen officers! My initial thought is that I might like to
organize just a bit around fealty so that each house has at
least one officer representing them. But last AvA showed that
we also need someone who is really good with diplomacy --
working with other alliances so that we're not constantly being
picked on by miscreants in our region.
Keep an eye on the other sections of the forums for challenges
and other alliance events! I will always schedule and announce
challenges in the forums first as membership here is a minimum
requirement for being considered active.

One question: what about summer?
I can'tplay weekday when I work, but I try to catch on, but on
holiday I wont have net!
Should we open a topic for holiday and you write down the dates
when we are offline?
I donteant to get out of the alliance after a two week
holiday...

That's a good point, but I think you have to be inactive for at
least a month before it changes your banner to the inactive
symbol. Maybe 2 months. But I won't be removing anyone for
awhile, mainly because it is such a major chore!
So have fun on your holiday and we'll leave the light on for you
when you come back!
