       Using Gold

We do get free gold at end of every 7 days.
If you don't already know then here something for you.
Brewhouse: You may choose to have the Village Center produce an
extra of the same resources in a row per level. Mine is at lvl 3
and I can make 4 at a time. This helps if you don't log on for a
       few hrs.
It is worth using the free gold there and its a one of gold fee.
Once the Gold is used to unlock a Premium Upgrade, that upgrade
will remain permanently unlocked from that point onwards,
       throughout all reincarnations.

I heartily agree! My recommendations for gold spending are (in
       this order):
       1. Counting House Upgrade - all good things come from silver and
this upgrade gives you more of it faster, and you can save more
of it if you can't log on for a day or so.
       2. Village Center Upgrade - As Tyrone says, it increases the
amount of things you can craft at a time up to a maximum of 6.
So if you have to go into work, you push this button and by
lunch you'll have 6 of whatever you need. Push the button again
at lunch, and you'll have 6 more by the time you get home.
You'll never regret having this upgrade.
       3. Market Exchange upgrade - This speeds up resource production
in your village center and your fealty buildings, helping you
get more stuff faster for crafting. Plus you can exchange extra
       horses for wood!
       4. A Dragons egg from the shop - it's an expensive companion but
even if you have no desire to hatch a dragon, it still speeds up
your quests and adventures a bit and also adds a bit more silver
to the silver you get for completing them. Put this on your
main character to increase the power of every sword you own. It
is an absolute "must-have" if you ever want to try to hatch a
       dragon.
       5. Treasury building upgrade - This increases the amount of
       silver you get from quests.
       6. Siege Work upgrade- very cheap but they make nice companions
for your swords and we often need these units for high level
       camps.
       7. Alchemy Guild Upgrade - This speeds up your adventures up to
10%. Combining this with some of the other speed upgrades from
buildings and talents can cut a lot of time waiting for swords
       to return from adventures.
From here, it is largely a matter of personal preference. If
you don't want to spend a lot of gold, these are the cheaper
upgrades (except for the dragon egg) that give you faster or
greater returns in the form of silver and time.
